This is a Christian cafe and bookshop. It is also the local food bank and where mums bring there children to see the nurses. Tea, coffee, canned drinks milkshakes are sold, as well crisps and cakes. Prices are reasonable. The prices of books are also reasonable. C.D's and Jigsaws are also sold, again at reasonable prices. There is a special room set aside for for Christian themed books and Bibles. Also here are Christian themed items, which are sold, all at reasonable prices.

Got 15 books for £8.50. We Looked them all up on Amazon and they would have cost £278 (with postage) it was mostly academic stuff but they have a good range. I live in West Lothian and make a point of going here on detour every 6 months if going down south.

Lovely and helpful staff. This is a good place to get a coffee with a friend. They have cheap second hand books/dvds and Christian books. They also offer lots of different support for people in the community like budgeting advise, work club to help people get there CVs sorted to apply for work and much more. A great place for the community to come together. I highly recommend.

My first time in cornerstone. A friendly and warm atmosphere.Clean and open space. For people to sit and enjoy a nice selection of hot and cold drinks, biscuits and tray bakes. There is an area to look and buy a generous collection of books, DVDs and CDs. All on one level with toilets.

I regularly visit Cornerstone whether I'm meeting friends or on my own looking to relax and read. The staff and other regular visitors are extremely friendly and respectful. There is always someone to chat with and everyone knows your name. The ambience is great and age of visitors range from babies to retirement. A big appeal is that people with disabilities of any sort feel extremely comfortable and accepted in the Cornerstone community.

Cornerstone is a fairtrade community cafe, owned and run by St James Church. The cafe is run mainly by volunteers from the church and local community. It serves a range of very affordable hot and cold drinks (free refills are given on hot drinks) - takeaway drinks are also available. In addition it also offers pre paid coffees, for anyone who may require this service. Although Cornerstone doesn't sell food (apart from some biscuits), people are welcome to bring in their own sandwiches to eat. Cornerstone also sells second hand books, vinyls, CD's, DVD's and other items. Next to to Cornerstone there is also the St James Op Shop, a charity shop selling a range of items. People can hire the meeting rooms at Cornerstone, and various community groups meet regularly at Cornerstone, including art groups, money advice projects, and a work club. It's a great place, where people from the community gather to relax, meet friends, or simply watch the world go by. Free wifi is also available.

This is Primarily a Christian drop in Coffee Shop during the day. There are several groups who use the rooms. The drinks are reasonably priced, and served by people who volunteer to work there. I like the community atmosphere there. You are able to buy a sandwich or similar from one of the nearby outlets such as Routledges, and eat it with the Coffee you bought at Cornerstone. You don't have to be a Christian to be made welcome there. I AM a Christian, and I go there regularly because of the atmosphere. You can buy 'preloved' CDs and DVDs and books here as well.

The service really marred the whole experience. My husband and I were gifted an afternoon tea for our anniversary. When we arrived, we were greeted at the front door by a lady who I can only describe as a 'bouncer' of sorts - she stood in front of us, making it clear we were not to venture any further into the building until we had proven we had a booking... I was also rather strangely escorted to the lavatory, rather then simply given directions ("to your left at the end of the corridor" seems rather easy to remember...). Perhaps I look like the type to get easily lost? I got a glass of fizz as a treat (we were celebrating after all!) but I never did get my pot of tea. I'd have brought it up, but we never saw the staff again. No one checked if everything was OK or if we needed anything else. We had to go looking for someone in order to pay the bill (for the glass of fizz). No one offered to take my coat, although I know other people in the room were awarded that level of service. I shared my husband's pot of tea - my tea cup was cracked and leaked - again, I'd have brought it up if a single member of staff had approached us. And there were plenty of staff about - we could hear them laughing and joking and chatting, outside of the dining room in the corridor. The scones and homemade jam were delicious. There was a bit too much chocolate in the fruit tarts for my liking, making them a little sickly. The pistachio cake was slightly dry. The cheese and pickle sandwiches were a tad disappointing, but the egg ones were very tasty. The dining room itself lacked any atmosphere. Beautiful surrounding area. Close enough to major roads. We love to dine out frequently - anywhere and everywhere! However, we won't be returning here. Nor will we be recommending to anyone else.

We visited on 29 Sep 2024, booked for 6.45pm. Lovely looking restaurant, and staff were great. Food was disappointing for the price unfortunately. The wife had the mozzarella and roasted peach salad starter. My wife enjoyed this, I thought it was ok but the mozzarella balls could've been fresher. I had the calamari. It looked lovely, but tasted only okay as the squid also could've been fresher. The wife had the bang bag cauliflower mains. The sauce was nice but rice was a little too hard, The cauliflower was done in a crumbly batter, which would've been nice if crunchier. The problem probably was that the cauliflower was very soft, and it was mixed through the sauce, therefore softening the batter. I just had fish and chips as I already had the other 2 options recently elsewhere; Sunday roast and lamb with mint. The fish was cooked nicely and not overcooked. However, it would taste better if salted or seasoned before battering and frying. It was incredibly oily too. The mushy peas wasn't anything special at all, nor the tartar sauce. We shared a mango Panna cotta. I prefer Panna cotta to be lighter weight but it was still okay. The short breads with them seemed a bit random to me, really didn't compliment the dish plus were very mediocre. The 2 course was £25. The 3 course was £30. I just felt it wasn't worth the price. We chose this restaurant as it has really good reviews, and was near the motorway at the right time as we were driving up from Liverpool back to Glasgow. I'm not sure if Fini's is a restaurant that runs there all week long or just part of the time. If only part of the time, it is not clear. If it is all week, I'm very disappointed with the food. Plus, why was a Sunday lunch menu available only for 6.45pm? Thankfully the staff were nice and it was a lovely clean venue.
