Food was great but service was average. We’ve eaten at a few restaurants around Belfast and we felt like the service was great & friendly but when we arrived to coppi, we didn’t feel really welcomed or accommodated. However, food was great! I’ve had one of the best pasta ever. Pasta was made fresh daily.

Twice the price and half as nice. Used to be 3 starters for 12 quid. Now the feta fritters are a 10r alone and not as nice as they once were.

A lovely cafe / restaurant. Well worth a visit for an afternoon coffee or an evening meal. Great service and the cycling photos add to the atmosphere. Always worth a visit if you are in the area.

Coppi is a lovely dining experience. If you’re looking for a fine dining experience in Belfast I’d definitely recommend it. We had a few appetizers which were good and I definitely enjoyed my ravioli entree. The service was great and attentive. The low lighting cultivates a nice vibe, as well as the restaurant’s layout. The music was an odd choice to me, not quite as calm as I would like for that atmosphere but maybe that’s just me. Definitely enjoyed it!

Amazing! The place was really busy being a Saturday evening and we had to wait for the table, even though we had a reservation, but it was worth the wait!! Superb food! Great service and we will definitely come again.

This is definitely not Italian. It’s just wanna be Italian. Low quality and is only for people that have no idea about Mediterranean food quality and taste. Totally disappointing. The staff was not friendly.

So dissapointed. We have never had a bad meal here so decided to return, new menu, it is more limited which is fine. 2030hrs table and they had run out of fish dishes. So we stuck to antipasti. Crispy gnocchi was extremely poor, mcdonalds level food. Pasta nachos was so unrealisic and poor, meat was nonexistent it was deep fried pasta sheets, and we ordered extra, as now very hungry, beef arancini, ice cold centre,the replacement was marginally better. Whats happened Coppi? We will not be back. Such a shame, we actually love you , staff are still fabulous,

Visited here a few times now over the years and it never disappoints food is always top notch.

Came on Valentines for a quick lunch, ended up getting a starter between the two of us (pasta nachos) which were absolutely fantastic Our main course came out straight after starters (crispy duck ragu and chicken parmigiana), the crispy duck ragu was a bit of a let down. The pasta itself wasn’t great then the portion size, felt like a kids portion almost. The chicken was a better portion, although absolutely layered in a thick tomato sauce which almost covered the whole plate which sort of spoiled it in our opinions. We then felt like we were quite rushed through the whole service, as an ex waiter I understand getting tables in and out can be a struggle, but from sitting-ordering-eating (2 courses bare in mind) was only 40-45mins The food was an average 6/10, but the portion sizes were definitely a let down. Especially with the prices. (Almost £100) Won’t be in a hurry back

Went in here today for a romantic Valentines meal. On arrival there was only another 4 people seated together at a table in the restaurant . We were taken to a table and before we managed to even place our order a waitress then escorted another couple with a small baby in a buggy to a table directly behind us. I asked if we could be moved away to another table which they did but had still not even got our order taken when they brought another couple with 2 whining kids to sit beside us… (place practically empty at this time of day).While I understand everyone is entitled to eat out can restaurants not seat couples away from family groups -totally ruined our dining experience especially as it was a Valentines meal out.

Heard good reviews about this place but when I arrived with a friend the place was dark and a bit dated overpriced for what we had small portions and wasn’t that nice.The menu was very limited beer over £7.00 a bottle [ very disappointed]

Good find for our stay in Belfast. Nice food not too busy. Staff pleasant and attentive.

One of my most favourite food ever

A large group of us wanted a last minute booking and it was accommodated. The food was delicious and the staff were really good. I would recommend and I will go back.

First time vising and cannot wait to return! all our dishes were wonderful and flavourful, the staff were friendly and attentive and the cocktails were delicious. a wonderful way to spend our anniversary ❤️

First visit. Started with Mushroom soup with chicken tortellini and crisp pancetta. Outstanding flavours! Followed with Roast Porchetta, creamed potato with Parmesan and cavalero negra. Beautifully cooked - a real joy. Convivial atmosphere and attentive staff all at a fair price. What more could you want?

Coppi was amazing. I was there for my graduation celebration the week leading up to Christmas and it was so good. Our visit really topped off a really happy day marking the end of my studies in Belfast. We had the choice of ordering from the Christmas menu or the regular menu - we went for the regular. The only snag when I tried to make a reservation was the website not allowing reservation for more than a group of 6, so I had to call. Food was yum - try the nachos and thank me later. Service was attentive. Really can't fault it. Overall, a really positive experience!

Great wine, pork belly was very good. The butternut squash pasta dish was Very hot with chilli. An enjoyable evening out.

Great place , food was very nice but on the pricier end . service was ok but I was missing a fork ,the vibe and atmosphere of the place was amazing and I would go again

Great service, food is OK, standard Italian affair, wee bit expensive. Wish the beer selection was better but they have cocktails.

Husband went with his friends for dinner to celebrate Christmas. Table booked for 5.30pm. Expected to return table in 2 hours. They were informed at the start they would have to leave the table by certain time and as they were enjoying their dessert that they would have to leave their table in 5-10minutes. All rushed and it tainted their enjoyment of their time there. This was unfortunate as the meal itself was excellent.

Joined my friend for a lovely birthday meal here, the pasta and steak were lovely but the Cannoli for dessert was the highlight 🤤

It was my birthday and there was an accident on the road, the staff were very helpful when I phoned, they changed our table so we'd have more time. When we arrived they gave me a birthday card. Staff were very kind and helpful. I also got ice cream with a candle in it. This was all over and above what I'd expected. We will definitely be back. The cocktails for Christmas were also on another level!! What a restaurant

Really good food and ambience. Ordered the focaccia and ravioli fritters to start. Then had the rigatoni amatriciana. Big portions and very quick service

Great restaurant with efficient, friendly service. We chose Coppi because it was close to the vibrant Cathedral Quarter and had some vegetarian options. The place is modern with many tables in one big room. We skipped starters and went for pasta and gnocchi dishes. The pasta was full of flavour and, when they say spicy, they mean it, which I love! Our gnocchi was good too and there was a lot of it. Wish that there'd been more local beers on offer (I don't like lager) to help wash down the delicious Irish cheeses that rounded off the meal. I'd definitely return when I'm next in Belfast.

Booking our table I had no idea that a party of 30 men would be beside us. It was loud, not restaurants fault but acoustics were deafening. My meal was so salty didn’t enjoy and no one came to ask how our meal was. My meal wasn’t hardly touched. They cleared our plates , I expressed my annoyance and all I was offered was - I am sorry - I am dealing with this large party and that this was a busy restaurant. Not our problem as we are paying customers as well. Then given a glass of Prosecco and I am sorry. Sorry but I wanted to enjoy a meal . When asked paying for the meal my partner said it wasn’t the best and no manager was present or offering anything. I would not recommend unless you want average food and not good service- do not go to this restaurant. It used to be good - now it’s fast food and no care of experience at a price. We will not be back .

I’ve had numerous lunches/dinners at Coppi, including the lockdown cook at home menu. It has never disappointed. I had another lovely lunch recently. The food is spectacular and reasonably priced. The service is friendly, warm & attentive without being overbearing. Atmosphere great and everything is clean. Coppi is one of my go-to places to eat in Belfast and I look forward to my next visit!

Some dishes are too salty, impossible to eat. The cooks know nothing about hygiene, wipe their drool and continue to cook your dinner. The open kitchen made it clear that it is better not to return to this restaurant.

Had an amazing night our waitress Anna (lovely polish girl, nice to know I can find polish people around the world) absolutely made our night. Wonderful service and great food. Would recommend the steak 100%.

Nice atmosphere and staff, but small portion sizes render the offering poor value for money. Despite a starter, main and coffee, I was left unsatisfied and hungry, which was disappointing. Food was relatively tasty, but not worth the price. I'm due to attend a friend's dinner this week and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

One of the best Italian meals I have ever had. The pasta nachos were incredible and both the Marsala chicken and the spicy sausage risotto were amazing. I probably could have ordered everything on the menu it all looked fantastic Service was super quick even though the restaurant was full Wine was lovely too. Even though I live in England I am already planning my next trip here!

The steak chips and peppered sauce for £10 on the lunch menu great value and very tasty

Hustled at every stage - would have appreciated being informed during seating that they required the table back, rather than being told after mains. One of our party had barely got the fork from her mouth when plates were cleared. Not great service overall. Food mediocre - pizettas are small, we had 2 and 4 small plates as a starter between 4 which was just right. Prawn ravoli was very tomato based with not much in the way of prawn, ragu pasta was slightly too thick and not much in way of deep rich flavour. Pesto pasta was very dense and too oily, sea bass came with 3 thinly sliced potato slices. Disappointing overall as used to be a really good solid meal, wouldn’t want to pay that price again for mediocre dishes.

We ate at the bar after the Pride event. The place was buzzing but staff were great, very efficient and friendly Lasagne was really good. Friends duck Ragu looked fantastic as well Would definitely eat here again when in Belfast

Nice food, atmosphere and staff. It’s a great place for dinner and lunch with good drinks and affordable overall in a good location. One turnoff is the service charge. I was there on a quiet Tuesday evening with one other person and a service charge was added, without any reason why or how it’s used. Cheapened the experience unfortunately. It’s not the US and most nice restaurants typically only do this large groups, which is more acceptable. Seeing responses to other comments that the service charge is discretionary but this wasn’t made clear when we got the bill. Tips should be the customer decision and staff here should be paid enough without tips, this is not the US. Seems sneaky, like others have commented, so why not just change it when it’s impacting your rating? Unlikely to go back because of this.

Got the tortelleni and was very disappointed, no taste and fill with no flavour but stodge. I thought it would be a light dish this was not the case. Yes l could have asked for another dish but once l had tried to eat it, l felt sick. Won't beable to eat nuts for a while now.

Food was ok, was expecting something more impressive though as the reputation was high. Restaurant itself is big, noisy and cramped at the tables and service was slow.

Very disappointed - the food was rushed between courses and starters were definitely not freshly prepared! The waitress was so rushed serving, a few bits of cutlery were thrown at us in the process! When trying to choose wine, both options were not in stock - £300 for two couples, a very expensive night to be unimpressed...

Another first for us. Coppi in St.Annes square. The food was really good, wood pigeon for starter and duck and wild mushroom pasta for the main course. I'm actually not a massive mushroom fan but this was great! My wife's chicken main course was lovely, the chicken was beautifully cooked. It was Saturday night and the place was really busy but this did not affect service which was really good. I didn't order a side at the start but I decided I needed some chips, I ordered these and they were with me in a few minutes. Great! I definitely recommend Coppi and I will totally go back in the future.

The family all love the food here so we decided to go for Sunday lunch. I had roast chicken & others had the roast lamb which looked meltingly amazing! The starters were so tasty too. I had a lovely gin and tonic while my daughter went for a cocktail. The whole experience was so tasty and we were well looked after. I thoroughly recommend Coppi

Situated as it is just a few metres away from the Cathedral, this is a handy restaurant for a good, reasonably priced meal during a sightseeing visit. He thoroughly enjoyed the excellent prawn and crab cocktail, steak and chips and cannoli dolce. I had no trouble working my way through the honey coated feta fritters followed by the very tasty Portavogie prawn ravioli. All the staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. The only very minor criticism is the restaurant could do with a little more lighting - table lights would suffice.

Ok food.... Bit cramped tables very small and had to sit side on...not ideal Be careful of the 10% "discretionary" service charge . i wasnt aware it had been added and left a generous tip. The waitress / manager never told me the service charge had already been added and they ended up witb a 25% tip/ service charge. Bit sneaky so wont be back.....

So so good! 3 of us went here for dinner on Tuesday night, seated straight away, cocktails were fantastic, we ordered lots of little different bits to share and everything was so tasty, finished off with tiramisu and cannolis some of the nicest desserts we’ve ever had. Loved this place can’t wait to go back :)

Incredible atmosphere and staff - no complaints there! However, the food was quite awful and pricey. Portions are extremely small and we left still hungry and unsatisfied unfortunately. I actually ended up going out for a second dinner after because I was still hungry! If you’re looking for a small snack or just a glass of wine - this is a nice place to start with if you’re willing to spend the money.

Update (15-05-2024). I've now been back a few times to this restaurant. It gets better every time. I had the steak and the tiramisu this time and both were excellent. The service is top notch, worth every penny of the 10% service charge (100% of which goes to the staff). They even remember who ordered what so know where to put the food without asking - a wonderful touch. The ambiance and everything here is wonderful. I would go back tomorrow and will likely be back before a few weeks! The waiter that served us even remembered me!! Highly, highly recommended! My new favourite restaurant by a country mile! A different and more modern take on Italian food. Quite dark inside so can be hard to see what you're doing. I had a pizza and a cookie for desert, both were just excellent. First class food, service and price in a great location. Recommended. I'll be back.

Great restaurant. We were fortunate to get great weather so asked to sit outside and without hesitation the staff said no problem. Anna services the entire meal and was really friendly and very knowledgable on the menu. Couldn’t fault her service. Food was lovely, such light authentic Italian food, will defiantly be back. 5*

The food is amazing, I don’t know what happened to the staff, it feels like asking about anything it’s a problem, not friendly, it feels like they want to just sell as much as possible in as short time as possible. Was not impressed, spoiled the meal that was brilliant as always.

Good food but experience ruined by rude staff. Booked a table for my sisters birthday at 5pm on a friday night. Food and drinks arrived very promptly - we had finished our mains by 6.10 and the waitress set down the bill whilst lifting the plates - despite members of the party still with cocktails to finish. Werent asked if we would like to see dessert menu or if we would like another cocktail/drink. Waitress then brought down card machine stating "card or cash". Tip automatically added to the bill (table of 3) otherwise wouldnt have left one. Overall felt rushed and pushed out - we travelled from outside Belfast to come for a meal/few drinks. Wouldnt recommend.

DANGER! 10% Service Charge will be added automatically. This is only written very small on the outside of the menu in the restaurant, it is not on the menu. The waiters are very nice and accommodating, which is why we would have given a similar amount anyway. But it ruins every experience when you are forced to do something and cannot give of your own free will - especially if you are not clearly informed about it beforehand. It also takes away our personal desire to pay more than what is stated. Unfortunately, the tipping “culture” is developing in a very difficult direction. It's a shame, we're leaving with a bad feeling! The food is OK and there is an interesting selection.

As in all of Ireland and the United Kingdom, don't expect a gastronomic experience either, just make sure you like it. The food is good, the quantity/price ratio is good, the portions are very large. Two bad points: it is very very noisy, you have to shout so that the person in front of you can hear and... they don't look good! Only beer bottles. Both things are easy to fix.

TL;DR The management team at Coppi are ripping people off by charging more for items on the set menu than they are priced on the a la carte menu. Set menus are meant to be better valued. We ended up paying approx 10 pounds more for our meal than was warranted. ------------ My partner and I went for dinner at Coppi on Wednesday night. It was our first time there. We had read great reviews. The restaurant itself is well-decorated, clean, and atmospheric. The staff were overall attentive and polite. The meal itself was good. Our issue lies with the menu, its pricing and Coppi's unethical business tactics. Upon arrival, we were given two menus - the a la carte menu and the December set menu. The set menu was placed on top of the a la carte menu to encourage you to look at that first. The set menu offered three courses for 35 pounds or, as the maitre d told us, we could get two courses for 27.50. We went for the three-course meal, thinking it was better valued as set menus always are. However, after we left the restaurant, I looked at the bill and realised that the set menu items were more expensive than they had been listed on the a la carte menu. For example, I ordered feta fritters as a starter. These are listed as 6 pounds on the a la carte menu, but I was charged 7.50 on the set menu. Similarly, I ordered the smoked chicken tortelloni. It would have been 16 pounds if I'd ordered from the a la carte menu, but I was charged 20 pounds for it because I had ordered from the set menu. So for those two items, I paid 27.50 when I could have ordered both from the other menu for 22 pounds. This is on top of a 'discretionary' 10% that was added to the bill and, as we all know, isn't really discretionary. I'm furious at this sneakiness. With the cost of living crisis raging around us, going to a restaurant is increasingly becoming a treat for people like my partner and me. A set menu is supposed to offer value for money, but the Coppi management team are tricking people into thinking they are getting more for less. Unacceptable and unethical. Sort it out and treat your patrons with more respect than this, you thieves, or I might knock on Joe Lycett's door and see what he has to say.

A great spot for a little Italian bite in Belfast. Leans towards small plates which is great for sharing and trying out new things. The feta fritters and truffle honey were amazing. A couple more vegetarian options though wouldn’t go amiss. A special note - I was there for my birthday and they had a cute little card waiting on the table for me.

Food is grand, need to get rid of the additional service charge though. Won’t be back due to it as it’s a business practise I don’t support.

Brilliant food and really attentive staff. This place has been a favourite of mine for some time now, and I cannot recommend it enough. I'm yet to have anything other than a great experience here. 5 stars.

Have been advised to try this place by colleagues. I am not Belfast based and a foodie. Been told that this place will be amazing. Came for lunch. Service was very below standards from the start. Food was even worse (I returned the risotto as it was overcooked and the taste was awful). To deliver a glass of wine takes ages. Waiters are indifferent and bored. The person at the till didn’t charge me for a risotto (actually, I didn’t eat it too much, so fair enough and appreciated), but was very defensive when I tried to give a feedback (in a very calm and constructive way). I checked and noticed that some reviews here were about the dropping the standards of this place over the last few months. They looked disinterested in customers. Also thy tried to blame me that I didn’t like the risotto. Maybe they cook something else what is eatable, but just find another place. It should be out there.

A nice place in Belfast. Decent food with alright service. I got the feta fritters in truffle honey which was quite delicious. The duck ragu pasta was okay, the duck was honestly just super fried and tasted a little too fatty. I finished it off with the lemon cheesecake - which was to be honest slightly unremarkable. The ambiance inside was nice and open. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy. An all around decent place for italian food, but nothing overly remarkable about it. I would suggest the feta fritters though.

Poor menu, poor food, poor service, and expensive

Very noisy large group in and couldn't hear people at your own table have a conversation. I felt the staff should have asked the group to keep the noise down

We will never go back to this place. The food was overpriced and underwhelming. There was no privacy in the male toilet as the lock was broken. My grandson (12) told me he was using the toilet and a man came in. Although it was a genuine mistake on the man's part it could have been much worse. And what's with the Femi bins in the male toilet as well. Also a two hour limit at the table. We were told after two hours they needed the table, looking round there were at least ten empty tables and this was at 3:30pm so hardly the busy period. The staff were fine but we would have got better at a chip van
