One of the best Italian meals I have ever had. The pasta nachos were incredible and both the Marsala chicken and the spicy sausage risotto were amazing. I probably could have ordered everything on the menu it all looked fantastic Service was super quick even though the restaurant was full Wine was lovely too. Even though I live in England I am already planning my next trip here!

The steak chips and peppered sauce for £10 on the lunch menu great value and very tasty

Hustled at every stage - would have appreciated being informed during seating that they required the table back, rather than being told after mains. One of our party had barely got the fork from her mouth when plates were cleared. Not great service overall. Food mediocre - pizettas are small, we had 2 and 4 small plates as a starter between 4 which was just right. Prawn ravoli was very tomato based with not much in the way of prawn, ragu pasta was slightly too thick and not much in way of deep rich flavour. Pesto pasta was very dense and too oily, sea bass came with 3 thinly sliced potato slices. Disappointing overall as used to be a really good solid meal, wouldn’t want to pay that price again for mediocre dishes.

We ate at the bar after the Pride event. The place was buzzing but staff were great, very efficient and friendly Lasagne was really good. Friends duck Ragu looked fantastic as well Would definitely eat here again when in Belfast

Nice food, atmosphere and staff. It’s a great place for dinner and lunch with good drinks and affordable overall in a good location. One turnoff is the service charge. I was there on a quiet Tuesday evening with one other person and a service charge was added, without any reason why or how it’s used. Cheapened the experience unfortunately. It’s not the US and most nice restaurants typically only do this large groups, which is more acceptable. Seeing responses to other comments that the service charge is discretionary but this wasn’t made clear when we got the bill. Tips should be the customer decision and staff here should be paid enough without tips, this is not the US. Seems sneaky, like others have commented, so why not just change it when it’s impacting your rating? Unlikely to go back because of this.

Got the tortelleni and was very disappointed, no taste and fill with no flavour but stodge. I thought it would be a light dish this was not the case. Yes l could have asked for another dish but once l had tried to eat it, l felt sick. Won't beable to eat nuts for a while now.

Food was ok, was expecting something more impressive though as the reputation was high. Restaurant itself is big, noisy and cramped at the tables and service was slow.

Very disappointed - the food was rushed between courses and starters were definitely not freshly prepared! The waitress was so rushed serving, a few bits of cutlery were thrown at us in the process! When trying to choose wine, both options were not in stock - £300 for two couples, a very expensive night to be unimpressed...

Another first for us. Coppi in St.Annes square. The food was really good, wood pigeon for starter and duck and wild mushroom pasta for the main course. I'm actually not a massive mushroom fan but this was great! My wife's chicken main course was lovely, the chicken was beautifully cooked. It was Saturday night and the place was really busy but this did not affect service which was really good. I didn't order a side at the start but I decided I needed some chips, I ordered these and they were with me in a few minutes. Great! I definitely recommend Coppi and I will totally go back in the future.

The family all love the food here so we decided to go for Sunday lunch. I had roast chicken & others had the roast lamb which looked meltingly amazing! The starters were so tasty too. I had a lovely gin and tonic while my daughter went for a cocktail. The whole experience was so tasty and we were well looked after. I thoroughly recommend Coppi

Situated as it is just a few metres away from the Cathedral, this is a handy restaurant for a good, reasonably priced meal during a sightseeing visit. He thoroughly enjoyed the excellent prawn and crab cocktail, steak and chips and cannoli dolce. I had no trouble working my way through the honey coated feta fritters followed by the very tasty Portavogie prawn ravioli. All the staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. The only very minor criticism is the restaurant could do with a little more lighting - table lights would suffice.

Ok food.... Bit cramped tables very small and had to sit side on...not ideal Be careful of the 10% "discretionary" service charge . i wasnt aware it had been added and left a generous tip. The waitress / manager never told me the service charge had already been added and they ended up witb a 25% tip/ service charge. Bit sneaky so wont be back.....

So so good! 3 of us went here for dinner on Tuesday night, seated straight away, cocktails were fantastic, we ordered lots of little different bits to share and everything was so tasty, finished off with tiramisu and cannolis some of the nicest desserts we’ve ever had. Loved this place can’t wait to go back :)

Incredible atmosphere and staff - no complaints there! However, the food was quite awful and pricey. Portions are extremely small and we left still hungry and unsatisfied unfortunately. I actually ended up going out for a second dinner after because I was still hungry! If you’re looking for a small snack or just a glass of wine - this is a nice place to start with if you’re willing to spend the money.

Update (15-05-2024). I've now been back a few times to this restaurant. It gets better every time. I had the steak and the tiramisu this time and both were excellent. The service is top notch, worth every penny of the 10% service charge (100% of which goes to the staff). They even remember who ordered what so know where to put the food without asking - a wonderful touch. The ambiance and everything here is wonderful. I would go back tomorrow and will likely be back before a few weeks! The waiter that served us even remembered me!! Highly, highly recommended! My new favourite restaurant by a country mile! A different and more modern take on Italian food. Quite dark inside so can be hard to see what you're doing. I had a pizza and a cookie for desert, both were just excellent. First class food, service and price in a great location. Recommended. I'll be back.

Great restaurant. We were fortunate to get great weather so asked to sit outside and without hesitation the staff said no problem. Anna services the entire meal and was really friendly and very knowledgable on the menu. Couldn’t fault her service. Food was lovely, such light authentic Italian food, will defiantly be back. 5*

The food is amazing, I don’t know what happened to the staff, it feels like asking about anything it’s a problem, not friendly, it feels like they want to just sell as much as possible in as short time as possible. Was not impressed, spoiled the meal that was brilliant as always.

Good food but experience ruined by rude staff. Booked a table for my sisters birthday at 5pm on a friday night. Food and drinks arrived very promptly - we had finished our mains by 6.10 and the waitress set down the bill whilst lifting the plates - despite members of the party still with cocktails to finish. Werent asked if we would like to see dessert menu or if we would like another cocktail/drink. Waitress then brought down card machine stating "card or cash". Tip automatically added to the bill (table of 3) otherwise wouldnt have left one. Overall felt rushed and pushed out - we travelled from outside Belfast to come for a meal/few drinks. Wouldnt recommend.

DANGER! 10% Service Charge will be added automatically. This is only written very small on the outside of the menu in the restaurant, it is not on the menu. The waiters are very nice and accommodating, which is why we would have given a similar amount anyway. But it ruins every experience when you are forced to do something and cannot give of your own free will - especially if you are not clearly informed about it beforehand. It also takes away our personal desire to pay more than what is stated. Unfortunately, the tipping “culture” is developing in a very difficult direction. It's a shame, we're leaving with a bad feeling! The food is OK and there is an interesting selection.

As in all of Ireland and the United Kingdom, don't expect a gastronomic experience either, just make sure you like it. The food is good, the quantity/price ratio is good, the portions are very large. Two bad points: it is very very noisy, you have to shout so that the person in front of you can hear and... they don't look good! Only beer bottles. Both things are easy to fix.

TL;DR The management team at Coppi are ripping people off by charging more for items on the set menu than they are priced on the a la carte menu. Set menus are meant to be better valued. We ended up paying approx 10 pounds more for our meal than was warranted. ------------ My partner and I went for dinner at Coppi on Wednesday night. It was our first time there. We had read great reviews. The restaurant itself is well-decorated, clean, and atmospheric. The staff were overall attentive and polite. The meal itself was good. Our issue lies with the menu, its pricing and Coppi's unethical business tactics. Upon arrival, we were given two menus - the a la carte menu and the December set menu. The set menu was placed on top of the a la carte menu to encourage you to look at that first. The set menu offered three courses for 35 pounds or, as the maitre d told us, we could get two courses for 27.50. We went for the three-course meal, thinking it was better valued as set menus always are. However, after we left the restaurant, I looked at the bill and realised that the set menu items were more expensive than they had been listed on the a la carte menu. For example, I ordered feta fritters as a starter. These are listed as 6 pounds on the a la carte menu, but I was charged 7.50 on the set menu. Similarly, I ordered the smoked chicken tortelloni. It would have been 16 pounds if I'd ordered from the a la carte menu, but I was charged 20 pounds for it because I had ordered from the set menu. So for those two items, I paid 27.50 when I could have ordered both from the other menu for 22 pounds. This is on top of a 'discretionary' 10% that was added to the bill and, as we all know, isn't really discretionary. I'm furious at this sneakiness. With the cost of living crisis raging around us, going to a restaurant is increasingly becoming a treat for people like my partner and me. A set menu is supposed to offer value for money, but the Coppi management team are tricking people into thinking they are getting more for less. Unacceptable and unethical. Sort it out and treat your patrons with more respect than this, you thieves, or I might knock on Joe Lycett's door and see what he has to say.

A great spot for a little Italian bite in Belfast. Leans towards small plates which is great for sharing and trying out new things. The feta fritters and truffle honey were amazing. A couple more vegetarian options though wouldn’t go amiss. A special note - I was there for my birthday and they had a cute little card waiting on the table for me.

Food is grand, need to get rid of the additional service charge though. Won’t be back due to it as it’s a business practise I don’t support.

Brilliant food and really attentive staff. This place has been a favourite of mine for some time now, and I cannot recommend it enough. I'm yet to have anything other than a great experience here. 5 stars.

Have been advised to try this place by colleagues. I am not Belfast based and a foodie. Been told that this place will be amazing. Came for lunch. Service was very below standards from the start. Food was even worse (I returned the risotto as it was overcooked and the taste was awful). To deliver a glass of wine takes ages. Waiters are indifferent and bored. The person at the till didn’t charge me for a risotto (actually, I didn’t eat it too much, so fair enough and appreciated), but was very defensive when I tried to give a feedback (in a very calm and constructive way). I checked and noticed that some reviews here were about the dropping the standards of this place over the last few months. They looked disinterested in customers. Also thy tried to blame me that I didn’t like the risotto. Maybe they cook something else what is eatable, but just find another place. It should be out there.

A nice place in Belfast. Decent food with alright service. I got the feta fritters in truffle honey which was quite delicious. The duck ragu pasta was okay, the duck was honestly just super fried and tasted a little too fatty. I finished it off with the lemon cheesecake - which was to be honest slightly unremarkable. The ambiance inside was nice and open. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy. An all around decent place for italian food, but nothing overly remarkable about it. I would suggest the feta fritters though.

Poor menu, poor food, poor service, and expensive

Very noisy large group in and couldn't hear people at your own table have a conversation. I felt the staff should have asked the group to keep the noise down

We will never go back to this place. The food was overpriced and underwhelming. There was no privacy in the male toilet as the lock was broken. My grandson (12) told me he was using the toilet and a man came in. Although it was a genuine mistake on the man's part it could have been much worse. And what's with the Femi bins in the male toilet as well. Also a two hour limit at the table. We were told after two hours they needed the table, looking round there were at least ten empty tables and this was at 3:30pm so hardly the busy period. The staff were fine but we would have got better at a chip van

I've been here a couple of times for work outings. Most recently we visited in December for our Christmas lunch. The staff were so accommodating when we needed to keep making changes to our booking. The atmosphere was great and the staff were so polite despite being so busy. The food was amazing, there was something for everyone. I definitely recommend the Tiramisu.

Locale bello che dovrebbe essere specializzato in cibo italiano visto il nome con il famoso ciclista. Di italiano non c’è molto a parte la pasta e la pizza. Pizza che purtroppo è baby, ma il prezzo non e affatto baby. Pasta in varie salse, ma di italiano c’è ben poco. Questo però non vuol dire che si mangia male, anzi la qualità del cibo è più che buona.!

Fabulous Christmas Dinner with work colleagues. Great food, prices and service.

Had the Turkey Christmas main course and it was (surprisingly!) literally the best Christmas dinner I've ever eaten! Service was extremely quick, bit too quick, as they were busy and need tables back...they ask you to leave the table at precisely the time you've been given! Good buzzy atmosphere.

Good atmosphere, location & service was excellent by the staff. Food was ok, limited availability for Vegetarians. Would recommend the seabass 👍

Lovely restaurant for work nite out!

Atmosphere is very nice inside, and the layout is great! I was not happy with the service. I was forced to stay at the bar area because they said they did not have empty tables even though I could see at least one small table open. By the time I received my starter, more tables became available and they remained empty for the whole time I was there up until I left, but I was never offered to be seated even though I expressed I would like to. They never asked how anything was, only whether I was finished so they could take the plate. The speed of the service, however, was very good. The food depends on what you get. The duck arancini were tasty, but the shrimp pasta was disappointing; it was so drowned in tomato sauce/paste that everything on that plate just tasted of (acidic) tomato and nothing else, as other people mentioned in their reviews.

Myself and my husband visited coppi sunday December 3rd. From we entered till we left the experience was fantastic. The staff ,the food,wine atmosphere was wonderful. The nachos 😋 are amazing. The ravolli chicken and hot pizza was gorgeous . thankyou for a lovely experience. We will definitely be back..

I have been to lot of Italian restaurants in Belfast and this was the worst food experience I had, the chicken Ravioli had 200% tomato taste and 2% anything else I could taste. The service and atmosphere was good though but I feel a bit dim light over the table could have improved the ambience a lot. Hands down Scalini and Nicos are better than Coppi.

Told when booked on line had table for 1hr 30min but was not rushed or pressured to move and we were past our time. Have lovely seats at window can finish your drink. Food amazing staff very friendly and chilled atmosphere we will definitely be back. Highly recommended but must book

Exceptional service and food. I don't often leave Google reviews but so impressed with everything about our evening at Coppi. We came with our 18 month old and felt so relaxed... His dinner was just as good as ours!

We really enjoyed our first booking at coppi. The food was excellent,but portions could have been more.

A rather peculiar dining experience. Upon our arrival, we found ourselves three minutes ahead of our Sunday booking. Despite the restaurant being still empty, we were asked to wait outside for those three minutes. For starters, we ordered arancini, followed by duck ragu and seafood casserole fregola as our main courses. The arancini were passable, but they lacked depth of flavor. The duck ragu also fell into the realm of mediocrity and failed to deliver the desired umami punch. The seafood casserole, however, was a letdown. Its overly acidic sauce was uneatable. When I mentioned this to our waitress, and mentioned that some sugar in the sauce would balance the acidity, waitress seemed perplexed and brought me refined sugar cubes, which was rather puzzling. I left half of my plate untouched, trying to convey my dissatisfaction, saying that I may need some antacid after that dish, waitress was still confused. Regrettably, there was no apology from the staff, and to add to the disappointment, we were still charged a service fee for the party of two. This restaurant seems to present itself as something grander than it truly is. In Belfast, there are numerous Italian dining establishments offering better experiences at similar or even lower price points, where the staff possesses a deeper understanding of their menu offerings.

Decided to walk around St Annes Cathedral To Find Somewhere for dinner and chose coppi for the menu as it seemed nice. The service of the girl at the front door was awesome such lovely vibes, we were then seated and waited about 20 minutes before someone came near us for drinks. Then we ordered our food and starter 6” pizza was lovely. Then came our mains i got the sirloin steak which was fatty, Plain fries instead of parmesan fries i had asked for, and a big bit of plastic in my peppercorn sauce and it put me off my meal. No one even checked on us during our meal which was disappointing and you would think they would Especially if they charge 10% service charge i don’t think i’d come back. Drinks were good that’s about all.

Been here a few times over the years, and always enjoy consistent and tasty food! Atmosphere and setting is excellent. Visited with friends who were equally as impressed. Feta fritters, Parmasean fries & Duck ragu all to die for. Lasagne was also really tasty. Great cocktails and tried the Coppi beer which was very refreshing. One of the originals and a great spot to go to in Belfast

As far as I'm concerned Coppi's Duck Ragu is one the best dishes this city has to offer. Pair that with a Glass of Italian Primitivo & It doesn't get much better!

So glad we came here! The tapas were out of this world....and huge portions! Just wish they had one in Scotland 🤷‍♀️

Wouldn’t have brought the food home for the dog. 11 people got food on Sunday, 4 meals were not eat. Got 4 slices of pizza to make up for it……. And for the price of this meal was extortionate

went back again and again……. latest had the nachos and salad for starter…exceptional nachos….they should ‘bag it’ ..id buy them…followed by a cheesecake! Favourite Italian in Belfast by a country mile….a must for those who love the best….had the bread and tapanede to start with...we then had the Duck Ragu and the Risotto...finished with the cookie and ice cream....deliciousella

Had a great time. The guy at the door who brought us to our table 12/8/23 8pm was very good at greeting guests. The service was excellent and the food was good. Only slight down side was expecting more pasta dishes from a Italian restaurant. Price wise was reasonable for the food and cocktails. Overall we had a very good experience and will go again

Good spot, and nice all round. Service was very quick and the staff were very friendly. Nice looking returns with an open kitchen for all those that want to watch the chefs at work. Great sausage risotto with pickled radicchio and roasted hazelnuts. Was a big portion and well worth the money aswell as being very tasty. Some of the smaller plates were lacking a little but overall it was good. Good wine and great options all round.

I went there on a Monday night and it was busy, I thought that would be a good sign, but unfortunately I found that the hype was not worth it. I thought it was Italian, but it is not. Wine was served without tasting or either opening in front of us, the olives were amazing, but the bread was served w flavourless olive oil. My favourite thing was the feta, but I have to agree with someone else’s comment, the truffle flavour was not there, so overpriced for no reason. The main course I thought the tortellini would be a creamy sauce w hazelnut, and unfortunately was the weirdest combination I ever had (chilli, pineapple, hazelnut, carrots as sauce?). The gnocchi was probably the most disappointing idea there, how can you over fry something and make it flavourless? Anyway, disappointing experience, the atmosphere was not good, unnecessary loud and slow service (I blame that on being understaffed). I could see many happy hours happening there, so maybe the vibe is just not for a chill night, not even on a Monday.

Had a wonderful dinner here this evening. We both had Lasagne and portion a parmasan chips. The lasagna was absolutely fantastic. The meat was beautifully cooked, I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Lovely, pre-Christmas meal at Coppi. Ate at the bar and enjoyed watching the staff make cocktails. The prawn scampi starter was really good - although my beef shin lasagne was a little dry (tasty though). I think they used the wrong type of pan to cook it in - I.e. it was thin metal and I imagine it got super hot, super fast and evaporated the sauce? But hey, I’m not a scientist! Recommend a visit if you’re in Belfast looking for hearty Italian fare in a cool, warehouse setting.

Great atmosphere with the best pasta dishes.

Another delightful meal at Coppi. This is our go to place in Belfast, and was therefore the only option that I considered when booking our wedding anniversary meal. The meal was beautiful and the staff are so attentive and a real asset. Can't wait to visit you again soon. Phil

I had food and drinks here recently with a number of colleagues from work. We arrived on time and were seated to our table. We were told about the specials and were given a few minutes before a drinks order was taken. The food was lovely and very good quality, I had the duck arancini and they were beautifully. Quite pricey I thought at £9 for a starter but I’d get them again! The only negative about my visit was the service was a little slow, food came quickly but we were left a while without a drink. The place was really busy and the staff were all flat out so it’s no criticism of anybody personally. Overall I would recommend and would return.
