Cooplands in East Riding of Yorkshire

Zero customer service skills from the staff, all chatting and unable to draw themselves away to acknowledge customers patiently waiting......

Ordered large and medium breakfast deal for 10-year old son and I at Toll Gavel. Cooplands. Service with a grimace. Woman serving surly, almost aggressive. Was this because my son is mixed race? This surly staff member also claimed its not included in breakfast deal, even though sign saying these were. She did not mention drinks that come with breakfast deal. Very poor service. She needs a crash course in customer service skills. I appreciate intelligentsia are not queuing up for this type of unskilled, low grade, poorly paid work. What Cooplands staff seem unable to grasp is that customers like me are lifeblood of business. No customers no Cooplands. No jobs. Simple. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Most of the time everything is great and the staff are lovely. However the last few times I've been in I've witnessed a newer quite young member of staff who does not seem to wear gloves like the other members of staff do. I've witnessed her rubbing her nose and face and then going to make a sandwich and also handling the food on the counter. I presume being a newer member of staff that she has recently been trained and should be up to date with food hygiene protocol? At no point did she wash her hands or attempt to put on a pair of gloves. This could also be a big issue in the case of anyone suffering allergies and food being cross contaminated!!

Went in at half 3 on a Sunday asked for a coffee an was told no because they shut in 30 minutes , couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

Pretty much bland the so called £2 steak slice which was wanting as regards the filling. Disappointed though not surprised after sampling both a steak and mince & onion pies the previous day at the railway station in Hull. Greggs might be dearer but frankly worth the bit extra

Just a nice place to get children a cheese straw or sausage roll. It is greggs from Facebook market place

Lovely service and food always! Ordered some chicken bakes, sausage rolls and yum-yums on Uber Eats; had a small mix up with the original order but Mel was so lovely and helpful and even gave us an extra pack of yum-yums! I can confidently recommend all of the above foods, it was all delicious! :)

I got a sausage roll without a sausage. Not happy!

Friendly staff, busy at peak time. Not always got a full range of products.

Nice friendly staff lovely iced fingers but sausages weren't very nice not a patch on Thomas the Baker further in the town

Never seen to get what I ask for..VERY rude and moody. (Young staff are ok) Feel as if customers are an inconvenience to them. Plus they clearly don't like making the breakfast boxes as they lie about not having boxes left and have now taken the sign down that advertises them! Very poor customer service..I avoid going in now

Please listen to the customer. I feel as if I am speaking another language in my own country here at the Toll Gavel branch. The staff work hard but the two senior women (one blonde and one with dark hair) appear to have a set train of thought and not able to switch off. As if on a treadmill and quickly get cross if their train of thought is broken by their customer. Stop, breath and listen to the customer standing infront of you. Simple enough. A smile would be nice too. Very sour towards their customer. Customers will return. Instead of not wanting to come back in to this shop. Get another job if you have had enough of the public.

The breakfast deal of a hot drink plus a bacon or sausage sandwich for £2. 30 is great value for money and tasty too!

Myself & husband have just gone into the cooplands in Beverly and ask the assistant if there still doing sandwiches, the response was we have sandwiches in the fridge behind you, I asked if they had butter on she said yes so I asked if she could please me one without butter as I don't eat it. Her response was to roll her eyes at me and huff. So we walked out CUSTOMER SERVICE is paramount

Poor quality food only matched by the service

They served two girls not wearing masks this afternoon. They asked if they had masks and they said no and did nothing.

I have never eaten anything so vile in all my life! I work next door to this place and I've tried many times to eat the food from here and each time it is awful it's cold over cooked and just plain grim! You only get 2 stars for the cleanliness and happy staff! But as whole I'd rather take a walk and go to Thomas's! It absolutely amazes me that cooplands is the preffered bakery of Yorkshire folk you all wana grow some taste buds

Sunday, grabbed a meal deal. Egg Mayo in Country Grain, Pipers Crisps. Coffee £3 . Was delicious, lg got 5 cheese straws where warm & smelt great, friendly staff. Can't go wrong

Visited today lovely food but rude staff because my daughter was not picking quick enough to be told hurry up because i want to go home! For her bun to be thrown on the top of the counter will not be visiting again

OK food - traditional cafe fair. Clean but usually busy and sometimes difficult to find a table. Very much a typically older clientele so if you're looking for a hip coffee joint this isn't for you.

It has a nice friendly atmosphere and the staff are very helpful too. As well as the nice food that they serve
