Coombes Lane Fish Bar and pizza in Birmingham

Leaving my original review below and updating my experience. Good chips the last few times, which is a massive improvement. So I'm upping to 3 stars for now. A chip shop which isn't able to cook edible chips. Hard, chewy, tiny bits of fried potato make up half the bag. Third time unlucky so it's time to let the world know how displeased I have been with this takeaway. Fortunately I didn't spend any of my own money, and advise a visit to Sunbury Road and M&A for actual decent food. Cheaper too. Rarely have I not enjoyed anything from M&A. Except for stroppy service on occasion. I can live with that in exchange for nice chips.

£3 for a bag of chips and taste vile do not attend this was a small bag this has reopened and it’s vile

Great fresh food great service in store and delivery

Living within five minutes drive when home the fish and chips were lukewarm. The chips were soggy and had obviously been left standing for some time. The fish was definitely not fresh cod, dry in texture and heavily over battered.

If you want nice fresh food and fast delivery.....this is the chippy you need. The pizzas are beautiful.

New management is having less and less input and it's showing. This place was really getting good and had my regular custom. Just the last few months there is a bunch of new people there who are struggling to reach previous let alone maintain the standards that had been set. Such a long list of complaints I have now it's going to take too much time to get them all down. They're ok for a bag of chips coming back from the pub and that's it!

Great food with fantastic staff, whether it be Fish & Chips, Pizza or Piri Piri chicken this place has it all and is top quality!

Cheap and chearful 😁 The menu options are a little unusual for me, no cheesy chips?!? Food is always hot when I get it home and cooked well. Value but room for improvement.
