Company Bar in Manchester

Dingy basement bar with dark corners, with leather seats too slippy to sit on. Good drinks on offer though and the music alright.

This place is a little hidden gem in the heart of the Gay Village. It’s a small gay bar with a cosy atmosphere and some good music. The bar is one of those places with soft lights that allow you to relax and focus on conversations, rather than being overwhelmed by bright flashes of light and loud music. It’s an open-minded bar with some lovely cruising opportunities, but what really makes the difference is the staff! They are absolutely incredible. I went there for the first time and they made me feel at home straightaway. I will definitely pay many more visits to them.

Underground vibe. Very chilled. Super friendly, welcoming staff. It isn’t pretty or trendy but it’s authentic. Quite small /intimate. Friendly crowd.

This is a men's only bar and also it has steep stairs to the bar as it is in an older building and in the basement when I was there it was quite dark (this being my first time at this bar) not been in this type of place before but I will go back with my mates.

Great late night gay bar. It's an underground hidden gem. The staff were lovely. Great vibes . It's very central. Located at canal Street the prices are great for the value

Underground men-only bar, that's been here for years! Very relaxed, it can really vary from being fairly quiet to packed at weekends, especially later on. The music here seems to have changed, but may just depend upon the bar staff. There's less quirky alternative music when I last visited, and more regular dance/chart music instead.

Always a friendly atmosphere when I've been in there

It's ok for a late night drink, but NOT a place to take a 'straight' friend. The place is pleasant enough, the staff are great, but once one of the regular cruisy customers has his mind set on you (whatever your gender preference) he won't take no for an answer. Avoid the dark corners at all costs, unless you ARE on the cruise yourself.

I just love this place, men only and open until the early hours. It's a nice getaway if one too many hen parties have moved in on your evening. I do love the hens but here's good to escape them.

Friendly cheap and a good place for last few drinks of the night

One of the smallest bars in Manchester’s Gay Village but it has a huge heart. Friendly long-serving bar staff who’ll queue up a few of your favourite tracks on the juke box... I’ve heard everything from Gary Glitter to GaGa in there. Dark but not gloomy... very cruisy and hosts some of the last shreds of old-school gay camaraderie... people are friendly and will talk to anyone. Somewhere you can go on your own whether you want to mind your own in the corner or talk to the bar staff. Almost all of the door staff they’ve employed over the years have been welcoming but without letting the trouble in... they’ve always looked after me when I’ve over-indulged too.

Nice little basement bar. Weekends open late. so if you don't know where to go after everyone else shut. Try here.

A bit quiet but the bar staff make up for it. It's the only bar on the scene where the staff take the time to talk to the customers.

Dingy men only bar which is definitely a bit on the cruisy side with lots of dark corners to lurk in. Can get a bit packed at weekends but that makes it all the more fun. The music can be quite varied depending on what mood the bar staff are in. Everything from gay anthems to darker electro

For gay and bisexual guys who want to spend time with other guys having a drink in peace with their friends or out on their own, or out to hookup or make new friends this is one place you can guarantee is always free from the usual kind of attitude, pretentiousness and disrespectful heterosexual tourists that plague so many gay-scenes. Happy Hour runs all night every night from opening around 4:30pm til 10pm, except on Mondays when it goes on until Midnight. In the early hours it's one of the latest venues, I often call it the "last chance saloon" as it's licensed until 3am during the week, until 4am on Thursdays and 6am at the weekend. At busy times it's been known to stay open until mid-morning. Years ago Company Bar used to have a much older crowd but these days it's far more diverse. It attracts the leather, rubber, skinhead and fetish crowd but there is no dress code. Please remember it's a men-only space. Out of all the venues in Manchester's Gay Village, Company Bar has to be the GAYEST, and I mean that in a GOOD way.

Wipe your feet on the way out - otherwise it's a laugh when you're with mates
