Commercial Hotel in Moray

The pictures do not do this place justice. Spotless, well presented rooms. The entire hotel has been renovated to a very high standard. Fabulous breakfast and really friendly staff. Nice well stocked bar and games room. This place was really value for money.

Back in April I came through Dufftown on a trip of the distilleries with my buddy from Glasgow (I’m from the states) we booked a room here and had an amazing time! We hung out at the bar and met abunch of the locals and had a blast sipping whisky and drinking Ales! Rooms were basic but had everything you needed. The food was great and the chef even came out and chatted with us. Then we had a very good breakfast the next morning before we went on to swim Loch Ness and summit a Munro. Will definitely stay here again on my next visit!!!

The restaurant had an excellent atmosphere, good service and great food. 1st visit but definitely not the last.

Stayed in Dufftown for four nights ,the food ,staff and service here were fantastic,a 7 page whisky menu with an incredible choice .Every member of staff was courteous,friendly and extremely professional,always busy and looking to be of help ,shout out to the young lad learning his trade on Sunday the 27th ,wish more young folk had his focus .could not fault the food ,steak pie was incredible .Give this place a try you will not be disappointed.

My elderly mother & I were attending a funeral & stayed one night. There was no towels provided in our very small room which was almost in the attic! My mother was very anxious about climbing all the stairs but no empathy was shown about her anxieties. Evening meal was fine in a nice setting, however, I was charged £4.50 for 2 small glasses of what, I presume, was tapped water as there was no bottle arrived with the glass!

Ein wunderbares kleines Hotel. Zudem gibt es dort einen Pub und ein Restaurant mit gutem Essen. Alles sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Situato in centro a Dufftowm, la Capitale del Whisky. Bel locale, ampio, con arredamento moderno e pulito. Staff cordiale, preparato e veloce. Buon cibo, ben preparato e ben presentato. Porzioni soddisfacenti. Buone le birre.

Prime location in the middle of dufftown that is in the middle of speyside, perfect for a whisky tour. Rooms ok most with out bathroom in the rooms and the water bresure in the bath was hopeless. Nice bar and resturant in the hotel.

Gammelt og meget autentisk, ligger perfekt for et besøg på Glenfiddich , knap så rene værelser og wc.

The hotel and restaurant sits right by the main Dufftown intersection. Simple Scottish fare on offer, ok without being exceptional, nice scotch selection, not expensive at all. The dining room can accommodate around 18 people in total.

After a pleasant tour of the Glenfiddich Distillery near Dufftown, we stayed at the Commercial Hotel, one of a handful of places to stay here and convenient to the whiskey trail. Rooms are simple, comfortable, cozy, and quiet. There is easy street parking, and there are choices of rooms: ones with a bathroom, or without, but the bathroom is close by in the hallway. Across the street from the hotel is a great Indian restaurant that had friendly service, and affordable prices. This hotel also has a pub downstairs that attracts both tourists and locals, offering a variety of beers and whiskeys, and is staffed by incredibly friendly, and helpful locals. Great breakfasts here — including a traditional Scottish breakfast if you want to try it— that includes haggis and blood pudding. If you keep your expectations for an unpretentious, simple, affordable and authentic hotel in a beautiful hamlet, you will not be disappointed.

Kleines Restaurant, Pub mit überraschend gutem Essen, insbesonders der Burger ist sehr zu empfehlen. Habe seit langem nicht mehr so einen guten Burger gegessen.

Stayed in the hotel nice large room and en suite. Staff very helpful and friendly. Fantastic breakfast in the morning and a cooked breakfast to what ever you wanted. Would definitely stay there again so a big thanks to all the staff.

Good choices on the menu with something for everyone. Would recommend the steak and ale pie with the chunky chips. Everything cooked fresh to order and piping hot. Reasonable priced

We visited for an aninersary meal with our 7 year old son unlike other places he was genuinely made to feel welcome and wanted there. Beautiful roast beef and son loved his sausage and mash. Price was very good too. Only one minor gripe and that is there was not much choice of pudding, that only minor issue , apart from that highly recommend

Outstanding freshly cooked food at great prices. All the dishes that we ordered (we all had a three course meal) were top quality and tasted great. Presentation was amazing too. We will definitely be back with friends and family.

The hotel is well positioned near pubs and shops in dufftown. Dufftown itself of course being home to plenty of distilleries and walks.

Due to problems in my original accomodation they arranged a room in this hotel. Good nights sleep, good shower and no noise from the bar. Had breakfast elsewhere. Good standard hotel and what you’d expect.

My work colleague stayed at The Commercial for three nights , whilst working at a local well known distillery. We hadn't visited the establishment before, but if ever I am in the area again, I will certainly stay again. Miranda, Paul and the staff made us feel really welcome and so did the locals in the bar. We dined in the bar on all thee nights and the food was excellent home cooked fresh produce. The full Scottish breakfast is highly recommended by me too !.

An overnight stay in a small hotel, which has been renovated to a very high standard. the rooms were spotless, the breakfast delicious and the proprietrix could not have been more helpful or obliging. Very good value all round.

I'm not sure if the kitchen was really still open when we arrived, but they offered the full menu. Two of us ordered fish and chips. About 15 minutes later, we were told that one of the fish fell apart in the fryer and they didn't have anymore, so my sister-in-law got something else. When we paid out, they didn't charge us for her meal because of the trouble. Very nice.

The Chinese restaurant was lovely, a very nice well mannered young man served me. The Commercial Hotel was nice and friendly. The Royal British Legion was very friendly and had an amazing collection of malt whisky.

Called in for lunch which was excellent. Friendly reception and pleasant lounge bar to eat in. Clearly a real effort had been made by the owners to create a comfortable atmosphere.

Had a couple of nights here when visiting family in town. Couldn't have been better, superb room, newly renovated, warm , clean and very comfortable choice of beds in my room... Fantastic anything you want breaky, a little disorganised but made it even more charming.

Frequent visitor here staff excellent rooms have been upgraded to I high standered and bar area even better owners cannot do enough to acomidate and help you only thing bad here is there’s only five stars to give! Many good nights had here. Here’s a wee selfie from the proprietor!!

I think the bar needs a good overall. Beer on offer is limited although i did take advantage of a malt that was on offer.

Stayed here for one night and was very impressed with the standard of the room - newly refurbished, good size and lovely spacious bathroom. Owners were very helpful and friendly, and made us early breakfast as we had to leave early in the morning. Hotel is still being refurbished in places but did not detract from our stay

had a fantastic time at the Commercial Hotel - would recommend it to anyone visiting Dufftown. Room was stunning very fresh, new carpet, bedding, clean & spacious. Shower was great, hot & good pressure. Staff very helpful - I arrived quite late on the Friday night and was able to get my supper which was really tasty (fish & chips). Had a fantastic Mother's Day meal at the Commercial Hotel, great food, great service, meal hot and tasty, table clothes, lovely, delicious sticky toffee pudding , sauce and ice cream, (naughty) but good. Well worth a try, also has a good menu for meals, bed and breakfast, haven't done that but heard good reviews, rooms renovated to good standard, really good family run business, try it, Dufftown is a really lovely town, friendly people, and loads of whisky visitors centres all around the area.

Next stop in our celebration of my grandson's birth was the Commercial Hotel in Dufftown. The hotel was in the centre of Dufftown, near to the town square. We chose the public bar which was a typical Scottish pub with a well stocked bar and one unusual feature. Two walls had glass display cases with a huge collection of cigarette lighters.
