Stunning food and such a cosy atmosphere! Cannot fault a single thing here!

A real gem of a restaurant in Amersham! The food was delicious and full of flavour. The scallops in particular were so well cooked. Wonderful atmosphere with a cosy feel. Highly recommend

Exceptional meal, exceptional service, exceptional experience. We are veggie and were initially slightly concerned that there was only one veggie main. However, there are MANY veggie options. We ordered several starters and sides, there wasn’t one dish I would not order again. Well done to Colombo 7!

By far one of the best restaurants in Amersham (top and bottom). We have never had a bad meal in here. Always such an interesting, ever changing menu and far different from a large menu you’d find in any ‘chain’, mediocre restaurant. Perfect for sharing having shared everything we ordered. The staff are fantastic and friendly and any request never seems to be a problem. We have recommended this place to so many friends and they have never been disappointed… Amersham’s little gem!

Super disappointing birthday dinner. Family of 5. Servers took ages to come over after we sat down, and the service didn’t improve from there. We ordered some drinks and one of each starter on the menu, as the menu is very limited. Starters were really good (other than the chicken livers) but too small to share really, which is how we like eat, and they were gone in a few minutes. And then the wait began… Two waitresses for the number of people in this (small) restaurant appeared too few, as we had no drinks and no food for about 25 minutes. Eventually, I went to the bar to order drinks from a waitress behind the bar. They eventually came and the waitress dumped the bottle of wine on the table and left us to it… We had to flag down a waitress to order mains. The mains were disappointing - the prawn & chicken rice was dry and tacked flavour (my son was looking for sweet chilli sauce and soya sauce - wrong I know, but it needed something, I tasted it), the roast chicken curry was tasty but very basic (lacked depth of flavour) and the wild boar curry I had was much too salty (I add salt everything!) and the curry sauce tasted like the spices had not been cooked long enough. We have travelled to Sri Lanka, which is why we ate here, but this food tasted nothing like to food we had in Sri Lanka. Great service can make up for mediocre food. The trouble though is that poor service can ruin an evening, even if the food is reasonable, and that is the case here.

Incredible dining experience. Staff were super attentive and Harsh (the owner) was always available for advice on the menu. Great chatting to him about his vision for the restaurant. Food wise: Highly recommend the venison, wild boar and beef brisket. The mutton rolls and squid starters were the best we’ve ever had!! 10/10! Prediction: Michelin rosette within 12 months!! Well done guys!

Great food if a little expensive - £20 for a dosa! Service was good but they asked us to leave at 9.30 despite their website saying they close at 11. Another table had asked for their bill and there were no other diners so I figure they just wanted us gone so they could go home.

Consistency and quality. Every dish is just exceptional. My french mother is the absolute hardest to please when eating out, it was so good she was moved to go and tell the kitchen how excellent it was at the end. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

We had high expectations but they were exceeded. The service and attention was excellent but the food was outstanding. The jaggery beef is something I cant wait to come back to have again plus the dhal, try the dhal! Already planning my next visit.

Another fabulous night at this lovely restaurant. The food choices are amazing and the presentation and flavours of the food are just to die for. We all opted for different main courses with a selection of vegetable sides and we could not fault any of the dishes chosen. Our starters were excellent also, can thoroughly recommend the cauliflower wings a definite favourite of mine. We will certainly return thank you.

I can't believe I haven't been here before when I have heard so many positive reviews about this place! Hash and his team were wonderful and attentive and it was difficult to choose from the wide selection of dishes. Everything we ate was beautifully presented and had real depth of flavour. I would recommend the devilled cauliflower wings starter and the asian aubergine aswell as the cashew nut and pea curry side. My chicken snd prawn fried rice was delicious snd my friend enjoyed the sea bass. It's a pity we didn't have room to sample the desserts.. I'll definitely be back - thank you!

Been looking for THE spot since moving from central London. This is it. Flavours transported us right back to our time in Sri Lanka. Delicious.

Very authentic Sri Lankan food with slight twist with a western influence. Lovely!!

Quite simply one of the best meals I've had! The first bite of butter squid we both looked at each other in amazement at how delicious it was. The dhal is made with coconut milk l, deliciously creamy. We had a wide selection of dishes and without exception they were all brilliant. I also devoured a couple of glasses of their home made ginger beer and Lion beer which brought back very happy memories of my trip to Sri Lanka. The decor and service are also brilliant and a meal out at Colombo7 is a real treat. Can't wait for my next visit!

What a place- absolutely wonderful food, attentive service from the owner. Quite quiet for a Friday, but middle of school holidays in Amersham is quiet everywhere! Superb flavours and combinations, brilliant array of dishes- will be back to try the others!

A really warm welcome, the team were so friendly. Service was great. Food was delicious! I had the butter squid to start and the sea bass with scallop curry for the main course. My husband had the mutton rolls to start and the wild boar curry for his main, so tasty and full of flavour. We will definitely book again!

Ate here with some friends and every single dish was amazing with real depth of flavour. Service was lovely, really friendly, and they were absolutely brilliant with allergies. Loved it!!

Food is absolutely amazing, service really bad FOOD,- really interesting dishes packed with flavours. Squd stater is a must have and beef brisket main was perfect. SERVICE -Awful, the 2 young girls were clueless, not able to describe menu or actually give any service at all. Not offer pudding or coffee menu, offering extra drink etc. Sad as food was sensational

I wasn't sure what to expect as I've never experienced Sri Lankan cuisine. I was completely blown away by the presentation, the layers and depth of flavours of every dish which I wasn't expecting. Sorry to say, I don't believe I'll be going back to an Indian restaurant for some time. Colombo 7 is definitely my first choice for eating out, lovely restaurant, equally lovely staff and an amazing chef.

Lucked out when finding this place. Cafe style from the exterior, more bistro style inside, so inviting. Food will knock your socks off - we tried a variety of dishes and every one was sublime. The chicken curry particularly good, oh and the beef, well pretty much everything we had - about 12 dishes between four of us. Great veggie options. We’ll be back!

Hash helped us host a fantastic and very successful fund raising dinner at Colombo 7, in aid of Anthony Nolan. 50 guests had a brilliant evening in this lovely restaurant. The star of the show was the delicious food, everyone loved it. The atmosphere is so welcoming and friendly, this restaurant is a real gem.

Really good food. Menu is a little limited, but it is changed frequently. Not a cheap meal, but nice for a treat. Make sure to try the desserts!

The exterior doesn’t do this restaurant justice. Inside it felt authentic, cosy and had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were lovely and the food was tasty. A reasonable price for a nice dinner treat.

Ate dinner with some friends at Colombo 7 and really enjoyed our meal together. Food is really tasty and just the right level of spice for all tastes. Starters of squid, samosas and beef all delicious and 2 mains with 3 sides more than enough for 4. Staff friendly and helpful and restaurant nice and busy on a Saturday night. Will be heading back to explore more of the menu.

Amazing service, the waitress and chef couldn't do enough for us. Whatever we asked they did everything they could to deliver, above and beyond - thankyou for a lovely evening. Lovely restaurant, the food was all amazing and the atmosphere and staff were great. We had the samosas, cassava chips, dosa, and aubergine side and it was all 10/10.

It was a foul night weatherwise to go out tonight but I'm so glad we did, the food was amazing, not a massive menu but everything was gorgeous. We had two mains and the black pork belly as a starter between two of us and we could only just finish it. Wow what an amazing restaurant, small and intimate, food is great, well cooked and presented beautifully, with amazing flavours. Loved that it was a small menu, we ordered 2 mains and 4 sides which was plenty for 4 of us. And what was a very pleasant surprise, no service charge! But we were happy to leave a tip for a great night.

The food here is DELICIOUS. I recommend the aubergine. So many vegan options and the tastiest I have had in a long time. Service was very relaxed, so maybe not the best if you are in a rush, but great for an evening meal.

We always try to as a a group big enough to order one of everything on the menu. The food is authentic and ridiculously good. Popular, so when it’s full, service is stretched, but very good about it.

This is the best place in the whole of Buckinghamshire to go for a meal, a drink or just a chat and some nibbles. Ive been here countless times and it is simply the best food I've ever tasted. On top of the amazing food, the service is fabulous all the staff i’ve met have all been amazing and friendly. Finally, the drinks variety is great with some unique spirits and a brand of lager and stout that i’ve not seen anywhere else. I really cannot recommend this place enough!

Ate here recently for the first time and loved it! Sharing lots of dishes is definitely the way to do it, for the variety of food and flavours. Also great for vegetarians, as all the of the sides/sharing dishes are veggie. Service a little slow but it was a Friday night and the pleasant staff and amazing food made up for it! Will definitely be back.

The food really is delicious, lovely flavours and textures. I really liked the interior and the music was lots of well known songs slightly remixed to fit the atmosphere perfectly. The food can be quite spicy, so I would strongly recommend the mango lassi. They also very kindly gave us a free brownie for it being a birthday visit

Colombo 7 is a fab Sri Lankan in Amersham, had dinner there last night and it was perfect: delicious food , cosy, intimate, great service and can cater for pretty much any allergen! 😃

We booked here last minute so weren't expecting much but what a gem! Beautiful dining room and ambience, lovely staff, and the food was fabulous. My husband had slow cooked beef which he was raving about, and the vegan options were also delicious and clearly marked on the menu. The crunchy cauliflower starter was so good!

What a hidden gem. This place is up there with all the fine dining venues in Old Amersham. Great service. I’m a real foodie and this place nails it . Try the lamb rump . It’s not all about the meat. My wife is a vegan and she was really impressed. We will definitely be going back!

First time trying this restaurant last night. We ordered takeaway. Beautifully presented food even in takeaway containers, and absolutely delicious. There are too few Sri Lankan restaurants in the UK, but this one is doing something special. The smells and tastes transported us back to Sri Lanka. We are looking forward to exploring more of the menu on our next visit!

What a fantastic restaurant. Gorgeous decor and ambience, lovely staff and wow the food to die for. We had a combination of dishes all of which were stunning - the samosas to start, chicken curry, prawn and chicken rice, aubergine side dish and courgette and cucumber side dish. We dined here for a birthday. The food and service were just excellent. Gabriel and Astel looked after us throughout the meal. It was friendly, casual and very relaxed. Making for a wonderful evening. The food was delicious. There are so many flavours and plenty of choice. Everything was homemade and beautifully presented. Thought we try a new place and we were pleasantly surprised. Had the aubergine side which I highly recommend, although on the sweet side. Had the jaggery beef which had great flavours although slightly over cooked for my preference. We tried the coconut sorbet however it was too sweet for us. One recommendation to the restaurant is to improve the ventilation as we left with our clothes smelling like we were in the kitchen. Great food though.

Very nice restaurant and greta good. The beef is the best and the pineapple salad is divine. The squid apetizer is a must. The chicken curry and dal cpuld be better with a more seasoned taste. The staff is very helpful and kind. I recommend this place.

We went to Columbo 7 to celebrate a birthday with a group of friends and had the most wonderful evening. Hash and team did everything they could to make sure we enjoyed ourselves, nothing was too much trouble. Everyone around the table had their favourite dish from the Sri Lankan menu but all agreed that the standard was fantastically high and everything both looked and tasted delicious.

Easily the best restaurant in Amersham! I went with a group or people and we ended up ordering nearly every dish on the menu, and each were a 10/10, and the warm friendly service made the night perfect. Do yourself a favout and go try this awesome srilankan food!

Nice atmosphere, the table for 2 was way too small though and had to constantly rearrange the plates so there was space. Food was good and well cooked but for the price we were slightly underwhelmed. Both the beef and chicken curry were watery and underseasoned. Aubergine dish was good and the paratha was probably the best dish there. Starters (veg samosa and black pepper pork belly) were ok but the pork was way spicier than the menu implies (fine for us but for some it would blow your head off!). Overall it was fine but wouldn't come back. The best thing about it was the food is much lighter than your standard Indian so you come away feeling good rather than hideously full on oil and ghee!

This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Being a Sri Lankan I’m always fascinated to taste the flavour of Sri Lankan Spices – this place was incredible. Menu was extensive and they brought novelty into typical Sri Lankan foods. 🤩 Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, and wonderful dessert. (The best Mango Ice Cream I’ve ever had 🥹). I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal. Simply the best Sri Lankan dishes I’ve had in London. 🏆 The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. So much polite and welcoming staff.🥰 I feel proud of this place, as this restaurant belongs to one of my School mate and I definitely know that this place has lots more to offer! And a long journey to go.😍 Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in
