The most disappointing curry we have ever ordered. The food was at best tasteless. We will never make the mistake of ordering a takeaway from Chesham tandoori again.

The Daal looked undercook and lacked flavour, Baingan was oily, Keema was red and watery lacked flavour

Looking at the reviews, it seems to be good when you eat in, but after ordering a takeaway from here I’m not sure I’d reorder. My go to is always a butter chicken and unfortunately it was completely flavourless, decent amount of chicken but there was just no flavour. Biriyani was nice but not the best and lacked spice. It was also 15 minutes late, regardless of pre-ordering over an hour prior. Would maybe try eating in but definitely not a takeaway.

We came here and were blown away by how friendly and relaxed this place was. We were greeted promptly, sat down and had drinks and poppadoms in an instant. The portions are big, flavours are delicious and the chocolates with the bill were a nice touch. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you :-)

Four of us had a postshow supper at 21.30 - 23.00hrs (We saw Alfie Moore at the Elgiva). We had a table booked. Service was excellent - we were thirsty. Food was excellent. Price was fair for beer and curry.

We are regular customers and we were very disappointed on this occasion by the service, never previously experienced at this normally lovely restaurant. The young man who waited on us had a serious attitude problem. When I asked for some cutlery for my main course, he literally threw the knife and fork across the table. When we left we wanted to take home what was left. He appeared with a few containers and plonked them on the table for us to pack the food! Never known this. In the past they have taken the food away and come back with it packed. It was my birthday and sadly this was not the happiest end of the day.

Quite simply the best place in Chesham to get a curry. Serving great food to the town for over 40 years. We love every visit.👍

Lovely food and fantastic service

It was my 2nd home for many years and then life got in the way. Just been back there and had a fabulous meal, I would have to say it’s a firm 10/10 from me. If you’re a seafood lover then try the sizzling king prawn, it’s divine

Staff were nice enough but the food was terrible, no real authentic flavour & the amount of fake food colouring used was excessive. Not good at all ☹️

A consistently good experience, whether eating in or ordering a take-away. The Chesham Tandoori is one of the things I like most about Chesham. Everything is cooked to order. It could not be bettered in my experience.

There was 12 of us we were made very welcome, food was very good and all came out hot,service was brilliant, we have been there many times, we just keep going back, we all like it there, our visit was on 2-10-22

Absolutely disgusted I parked outside the shop before opening house to which I was told I could not. I apologized for then the owner seemed to think it was ok for him to say he would slap me into the road. For a customer that goes there a coupe times a week. I will not be going back here after the way he just spoke to me.

Always top class food with spotless white linen tablecloths and napkins. Hard to beat if you want Indian food.

Always a great meal and service

Every time I have ever eaten here, the food has been of the highest standard. The dish I normally get is the Bengal Zalfrezi, which I have never seen anywhere else. I guess it's their regional take on Jalfrezi but it have a variety of different meats in it. The onion bhaji and the Bombay potato are also really good, along with the Lamb Dhansak. As far as taste goes, this place does take a lot of beating. The lighting is low and so this fosters a romantic and relaxing atmosphere. These guys also do takeaway and they will give you a drink whilst you wait for your takeaway. This is also very reasonably priced for the outstanding quality that you get.

Food was lovely as always, however it was due for delivery at 6pm didn't arrive until 7.05pm.

Without a doubt my favourite restaurant in Chesham, and one of the best Indians I've had. The food is just incredible, so much choice and everything was delicious - particularly the onion bhajis which are out of this world. We've had brilliant take aways from here before but the food was even better when eating in, would highly recommend

I was recommended this place as the best in the area. Better than anything Amersham or GX or Beaconsfield had to offer. Utter disappointment this evening. Bland and overly colourful king Prawn shashlick. Passable Chk Dansak. Nice keema bread. But what took this from an acceptable 3 star was the terrible sag aloo. It tasted like a salty, gritty and soapy(very soapy) concoction. We both spat it out and threw it in the bin. The two of us were very underwhelmed by this. I am told the murgh massallam is great but alas I did not try this dish. Such a shame.

Had a very tasty takeaway, delivered on time and politely. Had a bit of difficulty with ordering on their website, but that was probably me!

The establishment is clean and the people are polite. However it doesn't exist to satisfy the Asian tongue i.e. this is not authentic Indian. This is not the segment this restaurant caters to and shouldn't otherwise it will not manage to sell . Had Nans and Biriyani - was ok - if you have no choice.

We had a delivery last night and it arrived on time and the food was heat hot and excellent . Will be ordering again soon.

We moved to Chesham at the weekend and went for curry as the takeaway of choice on moving day. All the reviews on here are speaking the truth - great curry!

We came here for a curry after a music concert and it was amazing the best Indian we’ve ever had and really friendly staff.

I ordered dinner from the Chesham Tandoori a few weeks ago and was extremely impressed! Delivery was quick; food was HOT on arrival; the curries were delicious; the portions were generous. After a number of disappointing curries, I was very happy to find this curry house. Would recommend!

This is an excellent small restaurant; with a very long history here in Chesham. It could occasionally be a victim of its own success and have a 45-60 minute wait but I've not had good Indian takeaway quicker have you? You can order and pay online and not have to worry about the right change. The Tandoori side is excellent. Recommend :)

There are only a handful of restaurants I know in the world who give this level of service, from a genuine warm welcome, great service, to encouraging you stay after for a drink on the house..The food is good, well priced, and portions are generious and tasty. Looking forward to our next visit..

Have not visited for over 20 years t was as I remembered when I lived in Chesham. Meal with an old school friend. Tasty food, good portion size and tentative service. Best not leave it so long.

Lots of added sugar to all the dishes as well as the naan bread. Too sweet for us.

What a lovely evening with family in this restaurant tonight. The welcome was warm. The food excellent .. my biryani very tasty. The service was faultless with polite, friendly and efficient staff. I was very impressed.

Lacked flavour and depth in curry’s , the saag aloo was awful strange flavour , the daal was watery And flavourless , The mushroom rice was ok over all really poor food today ,

Our takeaway was ready to collect at the requested time and the chicken dishes were enjoyable. Unfortunately the tarka daal side dish was completely liquid.

Experienced excellent, friendly service and delicious, authentic food. We tried plenty of different dishes and loved them all!

What can I say...that was delicious, Easy to order online and confirmation to email to advise time it would be ready. Staying in Amersham but the Indian takeaways there did not have the best reviews so we decided on The Chesham Tandoori, so glad we did. 15% discount on first order....but will probably not be our last.

One of the best curry houses I've ever been to

I've visited Chesham Tandoori a few times now and I have never come away disappointed. From the moment you walk through the door you are treated to a warm welcome and extremely excellent service. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and only too willing to accommodate you by recommending dishes and wines to your taste rather than trying to up-sell; every dish I've tried here is excellent!The setting is cosy and intimate and you never feel rushed so this is a wonderful place for friends, dates or couples and perfect if you prefer restaurants which encourage conversation rather than drown it out with music and other media.All-in-all a wonderful place to eat, I shall definitely be returning and continuing to recommend it to my friends.

We moved to Chesham recently and were trying out different restaurant before our kitchen was up and running. Chesham Tandoori appeared to be good place to start with but got disappointed with the overall experience.. food was not great but not bad either, service disappointed waited too long and then everything starters, mains etc. all thrown on the table in one go. Requested less spicy food for kids, but they said they can't do it and will try. I think they tried but it was still very spicy for all of us, kids couldn't eat at all.Expensive for the experience. Alomost £100 for 2+2 Toilets... don't use them !!! it's better you wait for reaching home or go to another restaurant or pub next door.

Great restaurant, since the first meal my parents had when they moved here 20 years till yesterday night. Polite staff, quick service and amazing food. Also do takeaway for delivery or collection. No difference in quality even when it comes to delivery. Highly recommend!!

Quite average, ordered a curry that didn’t have hardly any sauce with it

We have been here a number of times and have always enjoyed both the food and the service. They will do variations on certain dishes, which I would recommend as all food is cooked fresh.

My wife and I visit every couple of months for a curry, and we have always been very happy with the food and service.

We have not had a takeaway from here for years but saw a good review recently in local magazine. Had a takeaway for 4, booked on line from a really good website and 15% discount for 1st time (10% other). Very easy to order online with options for time delivery etc. Good wide range of food - we went for all specialist meals and really good flavours in all cases. would recommend for takeaway - very easy experience.

Delicious food, good house red and great service. All you could wish for from a long established curry house. Try it - you'll like it. I've enjoyed taking several friends there and they've all said it's the best Indian food they've had.

I have been here for a meal on several occasions. It's always been really delicious food. I thought it was about time I wrote a review as this restaurant has been in business for over 30 years. Excellent value for money and great service. Come and try it for yourself!
