Coffi Lab Wellfield Road in Cardiff

I was on holiday earlier this month and a friend of mine who lives in Cardiff recommend a lovely coffee Caffè called Coffi Lab,near the City centre ,so me and my partner popped in and we were pleasantly surprised what a lovely atmosphere and how well organised the Caffè was, with friendly staff and lovely surroundings, we will definitely pop again when we next visit Cardiff.

Lovely coffee, great pastries too.

Very clean, bright and spacious coffee shop. Lots of tables well spaced apart. Excellent coffee and usual extras. Seemed well managed.

Visited when this place first opened and wasn't impressed. Decided to try it again today and was pleasantly surprised! Cortado was very well made, a little sour, but that's a personal preference. Didn't have any food but the pastries looked very nice.

Our favourite café and by far the best coffee we’ve ever had in Cardiff. The place itself is cosy, with a covered terrace and long opening hours as a bonus. For those interested, it's a dog-friendly place.

Very open and expansive lounge which will cater for any clientele, whether you have animals or not. Great location for meeting as location ideal on wellfield rd.

You have the postcode wrong on your address, the upstairs flat is CF24 3PB, the shop is CF24 3NZ.

This place is a great local spot to work/study/read or catch up with a friend. The staff are so lovely and it’s a genuinely dog friendly place - we love bringing our golden retriever in here for a pup cup, ice cream or biscuit and the staff always make a fuss and are really lovely. There’s a nice atmosphere and the place is nicely designed, particularly with the seating out front on a nice day. There’s plenty of space and seating with plugs if you’re working, although it does get busy in here, especially around lunch time. The only downside is that some things are a little overpriced - almost £5 for a smoothie made of frozen mix, and the same for a toastie. But the food is really nice to be fair and my partner loves the snacks and sweet treats. And while the coffee is good and they accommodate any requests, it’s definitely not the best in Roath.

Modern and brights interior. Good food and coffee options. Dogs welcome too.

A popular and busy cafe with a aesthetically pleasing and simply atmosphere, perfect for studying or reading a book, prices are a bit pricey personally as a student and quite limited in variety compared to other. I had the Peach ice tea which was one of the cheapest and quite tasty. I also had a sausage sandwich which was quite pricey but tasted very good.

Lovely place, great coffee with a great atmosphere. Dog friendly and with plenty of water bowls to refresh tour beloved pet. Highly worth a visit

When I visited this café, the atmosphere was absolutely lovely. The seating was wonderful and comfortable, the place was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly. But I have one note, and it's that the coffee beans used aren't top-notch, or the taste isn't perfect..

A coffee shop with a difference. They have artisanal cakes and snacks, which are fantastic.

Any Coffi Lab is the best place for coffee in Cardiff in my experience. This branch is no exception, can get quite busy but still delivers on the coffee front. Recommended!

Coffee flat white oat milk tasted disgusting. I ordered a chai latte. It wasn’t chai latte I don’t know what it was. But it was also really poor. At that price you don’t expect that.

My favourite coffi lab in Cardiff. The background noise is much quieter even when really busy. And the staff as always in coffi lab are friendly and helpful.

It’s so nice but ruined by not being able to hear conversation due incredibly loud machines-plus a ‘hard’ acoustic. Some textile additions would solve the problem as would having some screening between the machines and the customers.

Everyone working was so happy and made such a fuss over the dog, so refreshing to see genuinely happy people working in a coffee shop. Great coffee and amazing vegan options thank you!

Gorgeous space, atmosphere and staff - coffee is always delicious & if you haven’t tried their orange juice you are missing out. Lovely space to work in the area and catch up with friends and family.

Amazing coffee shop. I had a great coffee and toastie here. I would highly recommend. If there is one thing that I could say is that it can get a bit busy. But that's nothing against this coffee shop. It's just that good

Staff are super friendly and the coffee is always amazing quality! It can get pretty busy in there, but it's always clean and tidy. Their chocolate muffins are so good too would recommend those!!

Great coffee, nice atmosphere. However, I'm bothered that the internet often doesn't work in the café, and the pastries, especially the croissant and cruffin, seem smaller than before 1/3. It feels like the quality is declining. "Croissants and cruffin are often sold out. updated: Internet seems to be working now. I have to admit that the pastry from Alex Gotch is the best pastry I've tasted. I'm sorry it's not in stock anymore.

Great place for a coffee after a stroll with your dog. Very popular judging by the amount of tables in use. The dog's love it too.

Came in this morning for the first time and had to leave a review as my hot chocolate was amazing! I will be back.

Alex was so friendly, and made the most delicious drinks for myself and my family. We ordered a chai latte, mocha and flat white and each one was beautifully made, and had gorgeous latte art of swans and tulips on top! Thoroughly impressed, I will be visiting again!

Great coffee in a lovely environment. Cakes and snacks were good. Staff were friendly, if a little busy. Dog friendly venue. On the more expensive end of coffee shops, but everything was delicious. It tends to be very busy, so can get quite noisy.

I've never been to a Coffi Lab before. This experience is definitely going to bring me back. I ordered an iced caramel latte and my goodness, this is the best coffee I have tried!!! Although busy inside, I got served the second I walked in and it only took 3 mins to make my drink and have me sat comfortably in their outdoor seating area. The staff and environment inside the shop is AMAZING

Welcome to my area. I have been to other Coffi Lab's so I knew what to expect. Wellfield Road store is larger with modern decor, food that is hard to resist. The venue has pleasant undercover outside seating. An area to enjoy the atmosphere which is well served by various restaurants and shops and services.

Absolutely lovely cafe with a dog friendly vibe. The decor is very modern and charming, the coffee is decent enough, and the cabinet treats look fresh. They have ample seating with plenty of laptop space.

Cinnamon bun not good, more like a cinnamon rock cake, very heavy and hard. But Hot chocolate and Latte very very good, plus look forward to take dogs in as lots of stuff on menu for your furry friends.

Really cute place with nice food and tasty drinks! The drinks are really reasonably priced but i found the cakes to be a bit small for the price but still really nice and for the atmosphere and lovely space it’s worth the price. Dog friendly yet still really clean!

Great place. They know what a cortado is, and can do a proper one, which is always a good sign of a decent coffee shop. Coffee was great, and dairy alternatives are free, which is awesome. Cheese and ham sourdough toastie was excellent, and the toilets were clean. It does get a bit loud though, so it's not a quiet chilled out place, it feels lively.

Always enjoy visiting coffi lab. Large spacious cafe with plenty of seating. Their coffee is always a hit and they have a wide selection of cakes and treats. The staff are always friendly. However, the queue and ordering system can get a bit confusing, often find customers hoovering around unsure which side to queue/order from.

The issue with CoffeeLab is the experience of ordering a drink. The till area is confusing. Till on both sides. It's not clear where to queue and all the customers feel the confusion. When it's busy everyone is not sure where to stand. The only place on Wellfield Road with a worse queuing system is the tesco... That said. Good food. Good coffee. Great covered/ outside seating area (love the blankets) but main indoor seating is a bit canteen-y for me and its a very loud space if your sensitive to background noise. Have been a few times since they opened and experience is pretty consistent. Will be back but i wish they would sort out the queue system out.

Lovely spacious coffee shop, great use of bifold doors creating an outside-inside space - was quite satisfying to sit there watching the rain whilst dry! Coffee was excellent. Perhaps a little more expensive than some of the other outlets on Welfield Rd. Cakes were a step above a high street coffee chain, but not quite as spectacular as most privately owned coffee shops where the cakes are made in house. Not quite enough soft furnishings inside made things a bit echoey which may get uncomfortable as the place gets busier but obviously this makes it much easier to be dog friendly.

Slow service plastic mugs chai latte was barely warm customer behind ordered a pot of tea but the girl making the drinks made his pot of tea first so I had to wait even longer won't be coming back

I am a regular to the Rhiwbina shop and I love it there. I thought I would try the newest Coffi Lab near where I live and it did not disappoint. Lovely and spacious with the front of the shop opening up like Rhiwbina. I had a flat white and a Serrano Ham Focaccia which tasted great. Lovely friendly staff there 😊 I am now spoilt for choice. I will definitely be returning 😊
