Fantastic service great food really fresh

Really nice battered sausage and chips I ever had it was so good 😊

As a satisfied customer for many years, I have to say the last 3 times I've had fish and chips the batter hasn't been cooked all the way through leaving a layer of uncooked batter, resulting in the batter being taken off and thrown in the bin, the dark crisp batter was a favourite of mine. sadly I will be giving Coe's a miss for a while in the hope they can rectify their soggy batter. come on Coe's you can do better.

The best chippy in Leeds could be the best chippy in the world 🌎. I've been getting fish 🐟 and chips 🍟 from coes for 50 years. I've tried others, but no one comes close to coes. Well done guys

Just had fish and chips from here and they were so greasy I had to clean my teeth after eating them. I know fish and chips is a greasy meal but these were something else. The service in the shop was friendly and the shop was busy.

Chips are shocking you could not pick 2 chips up the same size and thickness some was hard with no potato in fish soggy and very thin not flakey like coes used to be

Staff cleaning counters when I walked in with a very dirty cloth, then tried to serve me food without washing hands touching my food with dirty fingers, not clean, avoid this shop.

Absolutely shocking, had to wait 15mins for a battered sausage with no queue. It’s like the owner has just left a bunch of kids to run the chip shop. At one point all the staff had disappeared round the back and I was just left at the front waiting. If I hadn’t already paid I would have left after a few minutes. I wouldn’t even give it a one star what a shame as I used to come here as a kid but never again.

Just got fish and chips and it's the smallest portion I ever seen had 2 look twice to see if they were a fish.

Food is nice, always fresh. Odd time when you can tell its old cooking oil but that's rare. Reasonable prices. Unfortunately there's one staff member there who drags down the atmosphere a bit. I don't know her name because they don't wear name badges but recently she always seems to be in a bad mood and unhappy, she's always stomping around and slamming things and she's always complaining under her breath about her colleagues behind her who are cooking, she is also often short with them. She really looks like she doesn't enjoy working there and she's makes visiting more stressful than it needs to be. Not sure how her colleagues put up with her because they all just shrug off what she's saying a if they are used to it. She was stood complaining about jaw ache on my recent visit, perhaps it would ache less of she wasn't constantly complaining and actually greeting customers with a welcoming attitude.

Amazing food every time God knows what the picture was of , it resembles very dried out burnt chips Ignore the picture, this would NEVER happen at cow's ... Consistently the best fish and chips 10/10.

Not visited yet but on the basis of the photo's they wouldn't tempt me , chips look small, shriveled, discoloured & greasy , fish batter looks thin showing fish through, burnt or overdone . Better photos required in these cases , other ingredient photo's are fine . 👎😕📸

Massively gone downhill unfortunately, used to be the best in Leeds. Chips are hit and miss, and the fish has soggy batter and an odd taste to it.

Tried to give this place every chance, but won’t be going anymore. Very inconsistent portions. I always seem to get the server who doesn’t have a clue and gives small portions and can’t wrap them properly. Lightly battered fish very poor. Disappointing every time, for silly reasons.

Having not been to Coe’s in a few years I thought i would give it a try. The chips were awful. They had obviously been sat for some considerable time. The fish was just about acceptable. This place has gone downhill since my last visit. Very poor quality

Always fresh and good portion sizes. The meal deals are very well priced. Drive here from near town as the quality is always up there. Think the star rating for Coes is harsh when compared with some other local, less consistently quality fisheries.

I loved the fish nuggets, deep fried, crispy, with a very authentic taste, served hot by a beautiful family, fast takeaway, I actually sat and ate outside!! only recommendation: I wished the sauce came along in the package, charged 30 pence extra :/ Overall, great food esp. fish 🐠

I've been going to this fish shop on & off for years, used to be very nice & very reliable as far as quality goes, went last week & was very disappointing, I'm told it's changed hands? Not sure if it has but really not very good at all, won't go again

We have recently moved to Crossgates and we have tried every fish and chip takeaway. Sorry if I upset anyone but Coe's are the best.

Been using Coe's for a few years now and was really looking forward to some lovely fish and chips on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately I received what I can only describe as a giant scrap (a.k.a Fish) to gouge on. Might be better off ordering a scallop next time or a battered sausage my brother seems to like ......

I've been a few times, usually quite consistent, but today I was given three different amounts of chips. Portion size is important, maybe the two young ladies serving should have been concentrating more instead of gabbing away to each other.

Due to the screen the assistant possibly didnt hear me so i got fish and chips twice instead of 3 so i went without , but she did remember the sausage so i had a sandwich . But i was told that the food was fantastic thanx

I've never been here before. I ordered fish bites and a sausage. Food was excellent. Not too greasy and very generously priced. Staff lovely and far friendlier than at the other fish shop in the area. This is now my regular chip shop. Well done coes!
