Cod Father in Blackpool

This is a restaurant to avoid! The outside seating is filthy covered in bird poop and no shade at all. The food was awful I ate a 3rd of my fish cake and did not touch the chips which looked and smelt like the day befores warmed up! The scampi was more batter than scampi and it was over cooked bordering on a dark brown and was hard and full of oil. The fish and chips was much the same although its batter was bright yellow, very oily and 2 x batter to fish. The lady serving at the till was rude, unhelpful and I am sure she hates her job as she showed no pleasure in serving. Please don't take my word for it if you don't believe the food could be that bad, try it and leave a review maybe that will shake them up.

i had the bread butterfly prawns. the was'nt cooked properly and my friend had a burger asked for ketchup in it and got mayo. then he asked for ketchup and they told him it was 50p. then didnt come back to him

Scaffolding and scaffold boards as tables & chairs. Okay it’s a takeaway chippy with some seat. Very quiet. To say Blackpool wasn’t and it’s in an ideal place for footfall but more staff than customers easily counted 5 staff and language barrier shone through. And after a few minutes of trying to get an answer of should we need to order fish to be cooked. Then told oh it’s Haddock. No real Excuse with the name CODfather. But we thought quite expensive and not the best we have ever had so next time skip this one after paying £14 fish & chips peas curry sauce & a can of orange. And the food regular portions nothing large apart from the price.

The food here was fresh an tasty. It was clean and reasonably priced. Only thing was you had to pay for sauce and there were no toilets.

Ordered this absolutely shocking food to my home. To which a full chips and gravy were missing only a pie came. Distgusted and as I want them they picked up the phone on me three times then hung up. Avoid at all costs!

Had to wait nearly one hour very expensive for average food chips were hard pea’s tasteless will not be going again

Visiting from Scotland and after a long walk viewing the illuminations needed food. Very friendly staff, quick service with any other help needed dealt with happily. Fish was perfect and batter crisp, chips great too with good tea and coffee. Clean and someone clearing tables leaving them spotless. Price very good for Blackpool and would visit again on any visit. Thank You

Visited Friday just gone. Average fish and chips . Friendly owners. Bit pricey tho £21 for two meals and one drink. Cheaper options around .

I'm still sitting here, after waiting 35 minutes for one portion of fish and chips! Still no sign of them. Kid in front has waited 40 mins for a portion of chips. Would have walked out but you pay when you come in so I've paid £12 for food that we haven't yet been served. I've had faster service in a busy restaurant! Don't come if you're pushed for time. Can't comment on the food as I haven't got it yet.

Fish was fresh, batter was ok a little orange. Chips were good. Tea urn needed turning up. Would I go back, probably not.

Chips clearly reheated. Cod batter was a strange yellow colour. Fish was very thin and awful. Staff lovely.

We’ve been here twice now when we’ve been in the area and the normal fish and chips are pretty standard BUT the f&c special dish is amazing. It is fish and chips with chilli and cheese sauces, spring onions, two types of jalapeños and fresh coriander. It’s incredibly hot - you have to like spicy food for it but the members of our family who have had it both times have loved it!

Very basic chippy probably hit the mark after closing time but for a family visit in the middle of the day, no, spent over £40 and noticed no sauce on the table so went back and asked for red sauce and got charged 50p a sachet. Chicken nuggets and fish fingers for children were very poor quality

Spotlessly clean, hence a 2 star rating. The staff were noisy, the chips were white and splodgy. The batter was thick and heavy and a strange yellow colour - I didn't eat the batter! Expensive given what you got. My personal opinion..... eating 'inside' a restaurant, the food should be served on plates not in cardboard containers with plastic knives and forks. Never again.

Horrible staff, waited 20mins before even being served. Worst experience ever. Will not be back Don't waste your time or money

Average fish and chips overpriced at over £12 for large cod and chips with Mushy peas no drink and was told tomato sauce would be an extra 40p per packet so didn't bother
