Cod & Co in Hackney

We used the restaurant for the first time on recommendation that food was excellent but £22 for cod and chip and 2 soft drinks was over priced.a can of coke £2.50 the food was so shocking that for somewhere that cook to to order the chips were cold and the fish was soggy best thing the coke was cold as described Service was terrible the was a lady behind the till that sounded like a banshee English not her first language but the food was the pits I cam next door to another burger takeout and had better service and hotter food Save your cash and the disappointment maybe better as a take out but I won’t give them another chance and for a chef of 15 years that is a proper insult

We ordered Cod & Chips for lunch, and the cod was cooked to order and was super fresh. The batter was crispy and light. Chips were crispy outside and fluffy inside. Everything was fresh and tasty. We could tell they used the freshest possible cod. One of the best cod & chips in London!

OMG the meal was delicious! Portions generous and fish and chips cooked to perfection. 10 platinum stars deserved. will be ordering again!!

You should not be allowed to serve customers if you do not know HOW to have a friendly approach to the very people that are keeping your business alive!.....Stay in the kitchen!...... Cook the fish! I entered the restaurant & placed an order. I kindly said to the lady that I'll eat it if that's ok. She responded NO!...... 'The eat in price is different'. I responded 'I have no issues paying more to eat in'. She then 'allowed' me to dine in. I was making my way over to a small table & was told that area was closed off or something of the sort & was told to sit on a table of 4(by myself). 5 minutes later, a group of 4 entered & I was told that I need to move!........ to the very table I was initially told I could not sit on!...... I suppose I let my frustration get the better of me & I vented my anger towards the same horrible lady. (Glasses & stiff face that struggles to maintain a smile). She then proceeded to tell me that I'm rude!........ WOW!..... What a joke! Are customers not allowed to speak up for themselves anymore? Seriously, if you're not happy serving customers, then park yourself in the kitchen. Anyway, I decided to take my food away. Lady, take a customer service course.

Was looking forward to fish and chips. Ilee have been coming here sine they opened. Up until late, October, the chips were great then we noticed a change. We ate in yesterday , I was actualy taken aback with the quality of chips presented . I said to the young lady who had seved us that the ses chips looks as though they were scrapes from previously cooked chips. She asked if ai wanted them change l said no as Iam not in a habit of sending my food back to be replaced, I stressed tot her the chef/cook should not have sent them out? . Anyway we ate our haddock less chips which for me was a let down. When I went to pay the lady at the till... Zeynab I think she was called was so rude no customer care skills, she gave me a rude look?. Shevwas told by the young lady (in there own language ) it wasnt hard to guess was being said, not to charge as I believe she had spoken to the chef/cook. Zeynab appeared as though she didn't want to do this. I told her it was fine I will pay as it isn't about the money I stressed again the chips were not nice and should not have been presented. we have been buying from Cod and Co sine they opened as we only live 5mins away. I want buy from them again. There are better places where the quality of chips is served to compliment the fish. I will never recommend them to anyone. The absolute best fish and chip shop ever. The consistency of the food is unmatched. You always expect that one day you'll get something and it won't meet the high standards that they set or you'll start to notice a dip in performance, but this has happened at all. In the years since it's opening it is always a guarantee to hit the spot and leave the taste buds satisfied. The staff are friendly and welcoming and as a frequent customer they know my order down to the detail. If you're in hackney and want some fish and chips this is definitely the spot you need to be going too.
