Terrible. The Rogan Josh was scraps of tired lamb in what - honestly - appeared to be tomato ketchup, the chicken Dansak was bone dry and tasted practically the same as the Chana Masala. The manager bullied his staff who looked dead on their feet and an instrumental version of The Sound of Silence was on a loop all night, a true irony given that the table behind us shouted their way through their meal. A thoroughly cynical exercise in restauration parading as 'Canteen cuisine'. I fail to understand how this has received so many good reviews. Never, ever again.

The atmosphere is so cosy and comfortable... I'm more into bright colours so the colour theme kinda gave me a dull look but it's done up so nice. Gave me south Indian feeling. The food was nice and service was great too

What an amazing meal and experience! We came to Urban Tandoor for a celebratory dinner and wow did it impress! The food was exceptional and definitely lived up to the many many recommendations I had. What really stood out however was the amazing hospitality and staff. From the moment we walked in staff were fun and friendly and personalised the experience in order to make it memorable. We genuinely can’t wait to return for some more delicious food!

Urban Tandoor is hands down the best curry restaurant is Bristol, both the small st and Clifton restaurants are equally as good. Reasonably priced, and award winning gourmet food. I’ve brought Indian colleagues here and they agree it’s authentic excellent Indian food. Great experience also, the staff are super welcoming and friendly, and they go the extra mile, especially if you go on your birthday :) 10/10. Had jalfrezi, madras and vindaloo, all awesome, and have also had most of the specials which are out of this world good.

This evening me and my partner came back to urban tandoor for our third time. It was for a birthday celebration, they made it special for my partner and made us feel very welcome. The customer service was spot on, the waitresses were so kind and made sure we were happy with our food and drinks. We sat upstairs and had a lovely time, it was really nice and chilled. I had butter lamb masala and my partner had moilee (this is his third time having it) and he has said it is one of the best meals he has ever had in his life!! A great experience. Thank you, we will definitely be returning x

Love it, from the moment we walked in ! The staff made us feel most welcomed, the food was delicious and flavoursome. The flavours just bounced around in your mouth and left a lovely taste on your palate. Our compliments to the chef as we thought that they cooked to the traditional ways of cooking their food back in India…. We are visiting from Australia and hopefully we will return here before departing Clifton. If you haven’t already been then what’s holding you back ?

Fantastic as always. Booked at short notice for a birthday treat and the food was excellent as ever, the new decor is great and the subtle screening allows for a private dining experience with a good atmosphere maintained… and I got a great complimentary dessert! Thanks!
