Best curry I’ve ever eaten in my life, amazing portion sizes and interesting and varied menu! Fab for vegetarians and allergens very clearly marked. I came for my graduation and was treated like a celeb! 100% recommend.

I recently visited the Urban Tandoor Clifton Restaurant, and it was an incredibly disappointing experience. To start, the service was incredibly slow and the staff were downright rude. Our server seemed irritated that we were even there, barely acknowledging us as we waited for our table. Once seated, it took over 20 minutes just to take our drink order, and another 40 minutes for our food to arrive — which, when it did, was cold and unappetizing. The food itself was another disaster. I guess it was kind of rotten. The chicken tikka masala had an off-putting, greasy taste, and the spices seemed like they were just thrown together without care. Even worse, the smell of the dishes lingered in the air like a mix of stale, burnt oil and sour curry. The naan was dry and chewy, and the rice tasted as if it had been sitting out for hours. As for the staff, they seemed completely uninterested in offering any customer service. Our server didn’t check on us once during the meal, and when we asked for a refill on our drinks, we got a sigh in response. It was a stark contrast to the friendly atmosphere you’d expect from a restaurant charging these prices. And one of my friend who used to work there as a part time employee told me that he used to saw mice all the time in the kitchen region. The whole experience felt off — the food, the staff, and even the general smell of the place. I won’t be coming back, and I certainly won’t be recommending this restaurant to anyone. There are plenty of better options around that actually care about quality and service.

came here from Bath for a birthday celebration and all i can say everything was perfect from start to finish, the food, the service and the atmospere. we will definitely return soon to try the sister restaurant. thank you for an awesome experience

I recently visited Urban Tandoor and had a lovely experience! The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the location is great. The food was good, but I wouldn't rate it as 5-star personally, as there are other curry houses I prefer that are slightly cheaper too. However, it was still nice nonetheless, and I enjoyed my meal. Overall, a solid choice for a curry night!

Fantastic food and service. Docked just 1 star for food because the prawn curry dish was a bit stingy with the prawns (not uncommon in Indian restaurants, which is a shame as my wife doesn't eat meat). Otherwise everything else perfection. The standout was the Tandoori mixed grill. Generous portions of marinated meat. The Naga chicken came with a heat warning, but was completely fine. Hot enough to warm the senses nicely and produce a slight prickling of sweat; but super tasty and definitely spice for flavour rather than just heat. What really made this special too was the service. We were celebrating a birthday, and the staff produced a lovely card/message with aperitif, and then a nice cake at the end of the meal. Lovely.

Each dish was delicious (and we tried a lot). Beautifully presented food and the plates came hot, which I LOVED. The waiters were so friendly and kind, and gave us some birthday treats.

Urban tandoor is a beautiful place to dine in . Food was delicious from the look to the taste. Loved the natural flavours in all the food me and my husband had. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they were incredible. Offered us a congratulations card , glass of Prosecco and cake . Incredible customer service. We had a wonderful anniversary celebration thanks to them. Will definitely return and recommend this amazing restaurant.

Me and my wife were looking where should we celebrate our wedding anniversary and we found this lovely restaurant and we said that we will give it a try. The moment we stepped in, staff members were friendly and respectful. The food was incredibly delicious. All natural flavours. Best curry dishes, best rice I’ve had so far. Friendly staff, easy to find, limited parking, and amazing amazing food. We ordered 4 dishes and each one was yummy and in good servings. Samosa chat, onion bhajji, malai kofta, and chicken malai tikka - each had its distinct flavours and filled our hearts. We were so happy we left a 10% tip as well.

1. The staff are engaging and chilled 2. When a boisterous group sat on 3 adjacent tables we four were upon request moved to another table. 3. Voices can reverberate from other guests but manageable. 4. Pleasant decor and lighting. 5. Vegetarian dishes? I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of the Dahl and side dishes. A medium vegetable curry would have been a good option but i managed with veggie side dishes. I did not see the veg biryani on the menu, must have missed it. 6. There were no delays with food presentation. We ordered by 7.15 on a Thursday. 7. A delightful birthday dish was produced for my wife with chocolate writing scrolled on the plate. Well done. I trust that the staff are well rewarded by the management.

The service, environment and food were amazing! We ordered drinks, a starter, 3 main dishes and 3 naan orders and everything got to our table very quickly. We were celebrating a special occasion with my boyfriend and we were given a delicious cheesecake at the end of our meal. The place is very nicely decorated too; I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Bristol!

Absolutely unbelievable service, it was my partners first day at her new job and the waiter asked if she if we were celebrating anything special. After hearing this they proceeded to give us a glass of fizz and an incredible cheesecake. They made her feel very special which I can't thank them enough for!

We came down to Urban Tandoor for my husband’s birthday as we’ve been ordering from them for a while and love the food. The short trip down was totally worth it and we will definitely be returning. The food was amazing with great portion sizes, and the customer service was exemplary. Everyone was so nice. My husband felt really special and we both had great time!

Discovered these guys through their instagram videos, the food was excellent. We are visiting the UK from New Zealand, the staff were lovely and made us feel very special and welcome, highly recommend to anyone looking for a meal in Bristol

Terrible. The Rogan Josh was scraps of tired lamb in what - honestly - appeared to be tomato ketchup, the chicken Dansak was bone dry and tasted practically the same as the Chana Masala. The manager bullied his staff who looked dead on their feet and an instrumental version of The Sound of Silence was on a loop all night, a true irony given that the table behind us shouted their way through their meal. A thoroughly cynical exercise in restauration parading as 'Canteen cuisine'. I fail to understand how this has received so many good reviews. Never, ever again.

What an amazing meal and experience! We came to Urban Tandoor for a celebratory dinner and wow did it impress! The food was exceptional and definitely lived up to the many many recommendations I had. What really stood out however was the amazing hospitality and staff. From the moment we walked in staff were fun and friendly and personalised the experience in order to make it memorable. We genuinely can’t wait to return for some more delicious food!
