Coco Asia in Thurrock

Came in with 10 people for a birthday on Sunday evening First of all with Amjaal our main server, he really took care of our table and made sure everything was perfect. He showed a lot of dedication to his role and co ordinated with his staff members for any needs. He definitely shows a lot of potential in the business and I do advise the investors/managers seeing to that. Now onto the food everyone enjoyed their food, it was really good and nice overall. I don’t eat much compared to the rest so I’m not gonna comment too much but everyone again seemed to enjoy Entertainment they had the matches going on, a cool magician, and really good music when the DJ was there. When he had to leave at like 9:30 ish, then the music was dryyyyyyyyyyyy. Felt like a 60s American diner for some reason we did not all catch the vibe. Biggest disappointment and why I’m mainly giving it 3 stars is the shisha. We ordered a few pots but the double apple requested first before the rest which another staff member brought over tasted absolutely diabolical. Once we requested a change which took care of he did honestly tell us that the last staff using this did not clean the base properly and it still had the burnt paan flavour inside. Now once all of them arrived and the double apple was bearable now, they were all decent for the first 10-15 minutes or so. Then one by one they all went really flat. Extremely light on tobacco and felt like I was just puffing flavoured air. Even with a coal change :/ maybe somehow all four pots were just a one off issue and it doesn’t normally happen but for my first time being here and for others too, In a establishment where it’s quite fine dining and pricey, I don’t think we’ll be coming here again for the shisha. But if Amjal is working then maybe for the food. His service again I’ve never met an individual with such care for their customers.💯

Amazing! Arman was lovely. The food was great. Atmosphere was awesome. The shisha and the vibe, all lush. We had the kiwi lemon and mint shisha and it was so smooth. Everything was impeccable.

Amazing food, disgusting service! Smoking inside which I’m pretty sure is illegal. Ruined our evening, when we complained about the smoking inside was made to feel like it was our problem.

Came in with my wife and they told us we werent allowed to bring in her lucozade which she needs as she is type 1 diabetic, we explained this and the waiter went and asked her manager if its ok, he came down and said we aren’t allowed it acting as if we had alcohol in it, he can see we are visibly muslim, he eventually allowed us to keep it but already ruined our mood, food was very very mid, korean wings were nice, service was shocking, been here multiple times before probably wont come again

We came here to celebrate my 21st birthday, had the most amazing experience, it was the perfect environment, the food was delicious, the shisha was tasteful and we were fortunate enough to be served by Manni. He was honestly the best host ever, made this experience more special and took all of our requests into account. He constantly checked on us and made sure our experience was delightful. Honestly, he needs to be commended for his kindness and he went above and beyond for us. Thank you Manni, you made my 21st birthday a memorable one.

From start to finish, the staff members made you welcome. Even though we did not make reservations, they were able to accommodate us. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere . The dj was on point. The restaurant itself was clean to a good standard. The table they gave us had a cosy feel to it with the view of the lake. The waiter was swift to take our order. Our drinks and food come out in good timing. The waiter came back to make sure we were happy with the food and drink which we were. A good evening with good food. Will be returning in the near future. 👍🏾

We've visited the restaurant few times, however i have to give a review for our recent visit. Went there for our 7th wedding anniversary on the 17th of Nov, everything was great, however what made it more special was that the manager (Mham, unsure if that's how you spell his name) learnt that it was our anniversary after we've made payment and all ready to leave, he asked us for few minutes of our time, he came back not long after with a lovely pudding, sparkler and anniversary 7th anniversary written on the plate! Talk about, active listening and attention to detail and also seeing us as individuals and not just customer that came kn to dine. I hope he sees this. Thank you, really appreciate you.

Ridiculous! Rubbish greedy service. Told us to get out after an hour before most of us even ordered our man. Absolutely ruined our birthday meal. The starters and drink were too sweet anyways and service was just poor! I have been in the past and previously gave a good review which has now been deleted as it’s no longer deserved. Thanks for ruining our birthday! Most of the tables were empty as evidenced.

This was my first visit to Coco Asia. I’ve always wanted to visit when I’ve walked past the restaurant. Today I attended for my friend’s gender reveal party/baby shower and had an amazing time. The service was perfect, staff friendly and I also loved the food. It was perfect. Will definitely visit again.

Went to Coco Asia for lunch and the restaurant exceeded expectations. The food was delicious and we left feeling full. We were looked after by Aniq who was very attentive. Would definitely come back.

Shuvz & Jamal provided exceptional service and the desi breakfast is definately recommended, even the english breakfast! Virgin cocktails were quality and the Karak chai is also highlighted. Excellent decor and atmosphere is warm with a funky twist. Worth checking out 100% Edit 16th November: Came back and had the brunch menu, (£35 a head) For the starter, i had a dragon roll and for mains had lamb byriani - wife had the chicken byriani and all i can say is the food was amazing! Bottomless mojito was nice (non alcoholic). Have to give props to the byriani as both were amazing (had to take rest away as i didnt want to waste it, it was that good)! For dessert, we had Cheescake and Baclava. The Cheesecake was lush and the Baclava was a bit much for me (really sweet), but this is subjective as that's just how baclava is. However, the coconut ice cream that comes with the baclava is the best ive tasted and really brings everything together. Again, Jamal was serving us (First clas service) and was the perfect host. Decor is still on point and atmosphere pleasant, whether its for couples or families (had my 3 year old daughter). Another amazing experience, this time 11/10 🤤❤

I am really disappointed to be editing my 5 star review. Today I visited Coco Asia again after 9 months and it was really disappointing. The food portions have changed and are NOT like the below picture anymore. Portion sizes have dramatically changed, and the recipe was different. It was tasteless and bland. I honestly think it’s not worth the money anymore…

Food was great and lived upto the hype.

The dishes are extremely poor. The kitchen and menu need urgent help. The good: dragon roll sushi, lamb chops (mixed grill), prawn puri, chaat shingara The bad: chicken (in mixed grill) too salty, prawn (in mixed grill) smelled off, The ugly: chips overpriced and better at your local chicken shop. Vegetable rice - disgusting recipe and execution Staff were very friendly and attentive. Not their fault if the food is so poor. Decor is amazing - one of the best looking restaurants in Essex. Overall: huge waste of money. If you spend over £170 for two adults and a child there shouldn’t be disappointment on this scale.

Visited for the first time for an evening meal and was pleasantly surprised by all aspects of the service. From the food to the hosting and serving, everything was very impressive. Sakib, our server, was impeccable with his service and delivered a lovely experience with a warm smile. Would recommend and would definitely visit again.

This is my first time ever leaving a Google review, and I have been forced to do this due to experiencing what I can only describe as one of my worst dining experiences ever. I would categorically recommend that all black people stay away from this restaurant unless you would like to be treated as a second class citizen. From the moment we walked in, the front of house ladies were looking us up and down like we didn’t belong there. There was even a hesitancy to sit us down and we were getting horrible looks as we walked through to the outside area. As soon as we sat down, we were being pressured to order quickly as if they just wanted us in and out. The service was terrible throughout the night and the waiters were extremely rude to us (particularly Armaan). We were being rushed out whilst other (white) parties were still sat eating. The cherry on top came at the end of the night when we asked Armaan and another waiter about an item on our bill and they assumed “oh let me guess, yeah yeah you want to take off the service charge”. A very bold, and no doubt coded assumption, which was completely unfounded seeing as we paid for the whole bill (service charge included). When I told Armaan that I have not been impressed with the service all night, his response was “yeah yeah sure thanks”, followed by a smile and thumbs up. I will honestly never spend a single penny in this establishment. Hands down the worst dining experience I have ever had, for what can only be described as a very basic pallette of food. I have been to much higher end restaurants than this and haven’t experienced anywhere near the disrespect I experienced tonight. I honestly recommend re-training your staff on their basic customer service skills and treating people who are coming to spend their money here with much more respect. All in all, a terrible experience and I am extremely disappointed I spent my hard earned money here.

Great location conveniently found at the lakeside mall.Wow what can I say, from start to finish it was excellent service. We were greeted by lovely bunch of staffs and our attentive waiter Imran was being very helpful on deciding with our food and drink. It was my little girls birthday they went out of their way made it extra special with a lovely plated dessert. Food was top notch, great pan Asian flavours Korean chicken wings was a winner for me. Great portion sizes,lovely ambience overall lovely experience looking forward to dine with them again.

Nice place, location is pretty. The atmosphere is pleasant. The waiting staff are very helpful & hardworking. Food is ok, not worth the price. Shisha is ok if you’re not too fussed about quality or if you’re aren’t a Shisha connoisseur, it’s quite pricey though. I find it strange though that they refuse to serve tap water I’ve Never experienced that before & I’ve dined in maybe fine dining places across central London. I would recommend this place as a one off for an occasion or celebration not any more than that.

Very smart establishment, you are sat at a table in a very beautifully decorated room and given a 'Pan-Asian' menu (although it's 70% Indian food). The staff are very helpful, polite and friendly. The food is average at best, I had a butter chicken curry with the coco rice with duck rolls to start, it would have been perfectly acceptable from a cheap takeaway but not from a £70 a person minimum restaurant. I had the coco bomb for dessert with was just a chocolate ball with ice cream and sorbet inside that's melted with some warm caramel sauce. Not particularly good and definitely not worth £12. The whole place feels like it's just for people to post pictures of on their social media.

I had a server who was amazing and kind and was very courteous , I asked for a tea at a specific time and she came exactly and really appreciate that. Her name was Iqra . Great staff, she helps the brand look good and will be returning very soon and tell my friends .

Anniq gave us a 5 star service and all the staff was beyond nice!! The food was so good highly recommend the dinamite shrimps and the piña colada🤤 chef’s kiss!!!

Visited Coco Asia Lakeside for a celebratory duo birthday brunch with a relative and we absolutely loved our time there, the venue was very cosy, stunning decor. The whole four course meal was delicious honestly. Crispy Spiced Chicken Bao (korean glaze and lime mayo) - heaven. I surprisingly really really enjoyed the mini popadoms which came with king crab meat, chives and lime mayo - not really into crab usually. Veg biryani was moreish and all of our dishes came with fab presentation. The sunset breeze cocktail was so pretty - lilac drink, one large icecube & a tiny flower. Cannot fault the place, highly recommend and definitely be visiting again with a group of people next time. Thank you to Manni and the whole team for making our visit very rememberable, we felt very looked after for sure.
