Coco Asia in Thurrock

Good atmosphere and the customer service was outstanding. A special thanks to Manii and Shihab who was super welcoming and attentive during our birthday celebration. External cakes, however, are not allowed on the premises which was a shame. Hardly ANY vegetarian options which were disappointing therefore had to get basic stir fry which tasted basic. A nice warm atmosphere in general. If vegetarian options are expanded, can be a place I’ll potentially visit again.

We went to Coco Asia Lakeside after visiting Lakeside Shopping Centre. It was just for a small birthday dinner for the missus, chilling and spending time together. We had a nice experience, the staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Our booking was for Tuesday, 6PM and it was quiet with a few tables around. We sat in the lounge area which was really nice right by the lake. I believe it was Ashraf who made our shisha which was amazing! I had the Kerelan Chicken Burger which is a safe option, it’s nothing special but it’s nice. The missus had the spicy chicken noodle which was really nice and we topped it off with a chocolate soufflé to share which also was really nice. The food was good and the price’s were good for such a place! The atmosphere was really nice especially the fact that it’s right by the lake really adds to it. I can’t remember his name, forgive me for that, but I believe he was a manager of the garden/lounge area who was super friendly and made us feel very welcomed. The man with the shirt and braces on. Big shout out to him! They also had the game on which was a win. If you wanna have a chill time, you surely can during the week. Not sure, how busy it is over the weekend.

I’m extremely disappointed after a recent visit to Coco Asia. What should have been a pleasant fine dining experience turned into an uncomfortable and frankly embarrassing situation. In full view of customers, staff members began shouting at each other and using abusive language. This behavior is completely unacceptable in any setting — let alone a restaurant that markets itself as upscale. To make matters worse, I was there with my family. Hearing such language in front of children and guests was not only shocking but deeply inappropriate. It created an atmosphere of tension and discomfort that no customer should have to endure. It’s alarming that staff with such a lack of professionalism, education, and basic courtesy are employed in a restaurant of this caliber. Where is the management in all of this? Their absence or inaction raises serious questions about leadership and standards. Coco Asia urgently needs to reevaluate its staff training, management practices, and overall customer experience. Until significant improvements are made, I cannot recommend this place to anyone — especially families — expecting a respectful and high-quality dining environment.

i had the worst experience at coco asia. The customer service was really stupid.The staff acted like we were bothering them, when we asked for simple things like napkins. When Food came specially starter was cold.I didn’t complain to this to the waiter who was very rude and moody. Honestly I don’t understand how a place can have such terrible service. Not recommended to anyone.

Overhyped and Poorly Managed – Not Worth the Hype This is the first time i am putting google review and i have been forced to this. This restaurant is all about appearances and completely fails when it comes to real customer experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was disappointing. We had to call multiple times just to get basic attention, and communication was a mess—some staff didn’t seem to understand anything we were asking. It was frustrating and unprofessional. Shisha was rubbish as well . Looks like someone smoke it 30 mins before coming to table. The flavour has already burn before we smoke. What’s worse is that management never even bothered to check in with us—no one asked how the service was, how our food was, or if we needed anything. It felt like they didn’t care at all. They also automatically charge a 12.5% service fee, which is ridiculous considering the lack of proper service. The food was okay—not bad, but definitely not worth the price or the hype. This place seems made for influencers and TikTok videos, not for hardworking people who actually want a good meal and decent treatment. We won’t be going back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values their time or money.

We visited this place yesterday as a group of four, and the whole experience was ruined because of the terrible customer service. I ordered Dynamite Shrimps but was served Teriyaki Prawns instead. When I pointed it out, the waiter rudely insisted that I had ordered the prawns and started arguing with me instead of trying to resolve the issue. Not wanting to escalate the situation, I accepted the wrong dish just to avoid more conflict. Throughout the meal, the waiter remained dismissive and unprofessional. We looked around for a manager, but no one seemed available. On our way out, we saw someone in a suit—possibly the manager—standing near the drinks bar, completely absorbed in his phone and unaware of what was happening around him. Extremely poor staff attitude, no visible management, and absolutely no sense of customer care. We left disappointed and won’t be returning.

After ages came again great customer service same like before. Food was great and place too. Definitely worth staff are helpful.

This was my second visit to Coco Asia Lakeside, and once again, the customer service exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They remembered my previous visit, which added a personal touch that made the experience even more special. Every interaction was friendly and professional, and they went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect. It’s rare to find such consistent hospitality, and it’s clear that customer satisfaction is a true priority here. I’ll definitely be coming back again – highly recommended!

It was our 7th wedding anniversary and I was looking for somewhere different to take my wife too and we found this place online. We had coco stir fires made by Jamal. It was a lovely and tasty meal. My wife really enjoyed her self and that makes me glad.

Lovely meal, and especially out host Jamal was warm hearted and attentive. He took his time to make it clear about veg options.

Relaxing spot with great food and shisha! We stopped by Coco Asia after dinner for some shisha and ended up ordering the shrimp dynamite—it was delicious. The fries were fresh and crispy, and the pina colada was refreshing with a cool flower-topped presentation. Loved that the entire menu is halal and they don’t serve or allow alcohol inside. Chill vibes, great service, and a perfect hangout spot by the lake!

We visited for the the first time and ate in the waterside lounge area, although pre-booked and we confirmed attendance we were placed at a table that was not cleaned and they were still cleaning as we were seated and dined. The restaurant decor however is pure elegance, together with beautiful views which is worth a visit. We ordered several dishes (Korean spicy chicken wings, Shingara Chaat, Tandoori mixed grill, Asado lamb shank, Fire chilli chicken, Coco rice ) all dishes were extremely tasty except the lamb shank although tender, it lacked the same level of taste. We were served by Wafiq and his service was very attentive. Wafiq helped with suggestions and recommended the Fire chilli chicken and it didn’t disappoint.

The atmosphere was good. There is a separate external area for dining and shisha. Preferred to sit inside as it was warmer and personally didn't want to passive smoke shisha. Food was ok. some really good dish and others just ok for my liking but each dish was generous in its serving. The staff on board were really good. Think the whole team at one point served us. Constantly checking on you, if the food is ok? if we needed anything more? keep up the good work.

I recently visited Coco Asia Restaurant and, while the food was enjoyable, my overall experience was severely impacted by extremely poor customer service. The service was incredibly disappointing. The staff, particularly the waiters, were unprofessional and rude. I had to repeatedly ask for assistance, often waiting long periods before receiving any help. One notable issue was that I requested a bottle of water, which took 20 minutes to arrive. When I asked the waiter about the delay, he casually responded that he had forgotten. This lack of attention to detail was both frustrating and unacceptable. To make matters worse, despite the subpar service, a 12.5% service charge was automatically added to the bill. While I can afford to pay this charge, I found it incredibly difficult to justify given the poor quality of service I received. The staff were uninterested in assisting me with even the most basic requests. I had to call the waiter multiple times for various items, only to be ignored while they chatted amongst themselves, completely disregarding the needs of the customers. This lack of professionalism left me feeling disrespected and frustrated. Additionally, there was a tall person, likely the manager, who was dressed in a suit. He appeared very moody and did not offer a welcoming or professional demeanor. I didn’t see a single smile from him throughout my time at the restaurant. It’s disheartening to see someone in a leadership role setting such a poor example for the rest of the staff. Even more concerning was the fact that management seemed entirely unconcerned about the quality of service. Despite the obvious issues, there was no effort made to address or resolve the situation. This lack of attention from the management was disappointing and only made the experience worse. while the food at Coco Asia was good, the experience was overshadowed by subpar service, unprofessional staff, and the unjustified service charge. It’s unfortunate, as the restaurant could have been a pleasant dining experience, but the lack of care and professionalism left a lasting negative impression. Will never come back again

Extremely unwelcoming and inhuman experience. At first sight, the Coco asia restaurant seems to be of excellent quality and a provider of good service; this is in fact a complete deception, with Instagram appealing decor masking the completely cold and inhospitable treatment which my partner and I experienced. We were greeted by the hostess who sat us down right next to another couple when there were plenty of other spaces for 2 people available. After this, our waiter coldly approached us and took our orders, seeming judgemental of our choices in food and beverage by questioning if we were sure we wanted to order them. Our starter arrived - the pulled duck rolls arrived 2 minutes after we ordered, and they were completely cold and rubbery obviously indicating the lack of freshness. My partner, who is not great with new restaurants ordered a chicken burger of which she was unable to finish due to the chips also being cold and not fresh. I personally had no issue with the taste of my lamb biryani, but was slightly discomforted by my waiter carelessly caressing my naan bread with his bare hands... Extremely poor hygiene! Finally, the many bored looking front of house staff were continuously circling our table, looking over at our plates and standing directly behind us which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Finally, I was observing the exterior of the surroundings and to my shock I found one of the waiters who was stood behind me glancing over at what seemed to be Facebook on his phone trying to hide his unprofessionalism by going where the camera was not facing him. However, at the end of our meal, the kind manager (or so I assume he is the manager) took our payment and asked how my service was, I informed him of some events which I've described on here, however I am sure he will not be most pleased to find out his staff are using their phones in the middle of the restaurant floor. The manager kindly offered us dessert on the house, but I was so appalled by the lackluster and deceiving ambience of the restaurant that I decided to decline. My birthday absolutely ruined! :(

4th visit at coco yesterday food quality and service was same as usual. Third consecutive visit to Coco Asia. Experience is same as usual Great hospitality by the team. Iftar was amazing they provided water and fruit plater for break our fast.

Great place for food and service was fantastic.

The stsff is friendly and efficient, and the service is quick even during busy hours. I also love the way they presented food and its taste good. Coco Asia is a reliable for anyone craving great pan Asian food with 5* service.

Had dinner at Coco Asia last night and it was a great experience. The food was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented—especially the lamb chops and the baklava! Our server, Imran, was excellent. Super friendly, quick with recommendations, and made sure everything exceeded our expectations, especially the birthday sprinkles! Overall, I had a wonderful birthday at Coco Asia :)
