This is a little gem of a Chinese restaurant food is amazing always freshly made to order do a fantastic meal deal for £13.95 soup then starter then your main meal with rice Orr noodles give it a try you won’t be disappointed

The prawn toast perfect, spicy chicken wings perfect, the chicken cashew in yellow bean sauce terrible wrong sauce it was in hosin awful!!! Never again

Just called in 3 course meal soup, ribs, chili beef and rice, The staff are really nice the meal fantastic. Highly recommended.

We’ve been customers of Cobo for years. We mostly get takeaways but have eaten in. The food we ordered this week was delicious, it always is. I realised that over the years I have never given a review and Cobo most definitely deserves a review! It’s all tasty but the salt and pepper king prawns are yum! Thank you Cobo team, keep up the top food!

We have been going to Cobo since it opened and have always been happy with the food and service. Sometimes we have takeaway either collection or delivery and have never had a problem. We prefer to eat in simply because the service is excellent and it’s such a relaxing atmosphere. We have a teenager who also loves the food and has been dining at Cobo since he was a young child. Brilliant to see it open again, we have had a few takeaway meals and tonight we dined in. Spotlessly clean and we felt it was safe to eat here with Covid-19 restrictions in place.

Regularly order from Cobo as a local. Staff are very kind and friendly. Can never complain for the food is great! Would suggest a visit!

Me and my Bro normally have a Steak and Wine night on aTuesday but passing the very well presented COBO we though lets have a Chinese. And we were not disappointed. Handed the menus, not pressured for drinks. Given as much time as we needed. And the menu is delight. Unlike many Chinese Restaurants there were only a few select dishes to choose from which saves a lot of time. Many similar restaurants have a thousand items on the menu and you can lose an hour just trying to choose a starter. This is super simple. We had the mega meaty Sui Mai. Super delicious Hot Sour soup. Extra Spicy Chilli Black Bean and Super meaty Char Sui. Enough for four people. Very Generous portions. We had one small glass of Red Wine each but to be fair they would easy be doubles anywhere else. And the Waitress even cracked open a fresh bottle, even though it was only me and my Bro in the whole restaurant. Highly Recommended, staff were amazing and the food was a delight. And they even boxed up what we did not finish to take home. A perfect Bros night. £36 what an absolute bargain x

Not a great experience here. Food was flavourless and the waitress was rude

ordered a take away last night said collect in 40 mins .. i had to wait in shop another 20 mins for it.. sitting amongst other customers isnt good whilst they eat.. however when home the so called Satay beef was totally tasteless and was just like beef in bisto gravy, the chicken in yellow bean the same and consisted of 60% celery.. years ago was a great shop however will never visit again...

We visited here on Tuesday teatime an I have never had such a nice Chinese meal. The food was lovely an fresh an hot. We had a 3 course £13 a teatime special.staff were very pleasant an helpful I would recommend it 100%

When it comes to a Chinese experience, only the experience of being a Chinese political prisoner in forced labour camps during WWII could be worse than this. Whilst the woman who served us was very pleasant, the food (and I am being very generous when applying this word) was without doubt the worst ‘Chinese’ food I have ever, ever had. The one ‘sauce’ into which absolutely everything was placed, would be the fluid one would want to fall into should you ever have the misfortune to be in a terrible shipping disaster. Nothing would sink, nor drown in fluids of such viscosity. The soup was absolutely, the singular most disgusting thing I have EVER tasted, my partner has just thrown up the two mouthful she digested, it’s surface mass was more resilient than cling film, yet without the flavours I imagine cling film possesses. I suspect this restaurant has a franchise in Salisbury and it was their recipes that were mistaken as nerve gas agents that the Russians allegedly use to assassinate ex spies. For the love of humanity and the sake of your own stomach, never eat here.

We live on the next road and often get food from here. The quality of the food is outstanding and everything we have had is delicious. We always get take away as it’s quiet to eat in but i think this is the issue people think it’s quiet so don’t eat in but then nobody eats in and it will always be quiet. The odd time we have eaten in the service has been amazing. Don’t miss this gem. Very tasty!!

The crispy duck starter was one of the best I've had but when it came to the mains (Sweet and sour chicken + Crispy chili chicken) I was really disappointed. We had a good time though, music a laugh however probably wouldn't return.

I telephoned on 22nd December to ask if they were open boxing night and was told yes I booked a table for 7pm after driving home from Birmingham quick change then went the restaurant they were shut! Thanks !

We visited this restaurant for the first time tonight and really enjoyed the whole experience. The staff friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. Can't believe we've been missing out on this Aigburth gem ! Will definitely be back and look forward to ordering from the take away as well !

I think this is the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The service was good so I'm sorry to say it but it made me feel sick, none of us ate much of it and would never go back.

I eat here regularly- the food quality is tasty and excellent, portion sizes are huge, and i've never had a bad meal here! No idea why it always seems to be empty, it deserves to do well!

What is going on, this place is fantastic, only has about 10 small tables and we went on a Friday and it was empty, modern and stylish with a small, simple menu, the food was delicious. We had sweet and sour cod and shredded beef , with fried rice and noodles , all cooked beautifully and just the right portions. Definitely going again.. See you there !

This little restaurant serves very good Chinese and Thai food, both in the restaurant (which has only 5 or 6 tables) and takeaway. It seems to be much more popular as a takeaway than a restaurant so eating there tends to be a bit of a solitary experience. The staff are quiet but friendly, and it's clean and very good value.

We've lived pretty close to here for years and, as it always seems to be empty, we thought that wasn't a good sign so haven't ventured in before. However, we were passing the other night and decided to give it a try, and what a very pleasant surprise it was!! We went for the early evening deal of 3 courses for £12.50 and the food was absolutely gorgeous with generous portions of each course, even the prawn crackers seemed to be nicer than usual! Staff were really nice and I honestly couldn't fault the experience at all. Highly recommended restaurant

Got hot and sour soup, chicken curry and special chow mein. A fair price and great quality. The meat was surprisingly succulent and the chow mein could have fed us both and the bar has Glenfidditch ;)

Hola, nos tomamos lejos de aquí víspera de Año Nuevo debido a literalmente no donde haciendo tiendas de comida para llevar.

He estado utilizando esta pequeña joya de un lugar para aproximadamente 18 meses y el estándar de la comida para llevar es insuperable. Muy limpio, el personal siempre es amable y bastante precios razonables con el único inconveniente a veces hay leves problemas de sincronización pero en general muy contentos con el servicio ofrecido y continuará a usar.

Very chilled and pleasant. Small but the food has always been excellent. We tend to take away more these days, my other half is a vegetarian and swears by this being one of the best oriental cuisines locally for her.

Have used Cobo as a take away on numerous occasions. Food is always good, service has always been hit and miss. Sometimes the food arrives within 30 minutes, other times it can be over an hour. To be fair, they usually tell you if there is a delay. Last night however I rang at 7.15, no mention of a delay.....food eventually arrived at 9.00!!! I rang at 8.15 to be told it would be 20 mins and again at 8.40 to be told 5 mins. No apology, no reasons given. Food was luke warm as had obviously been cooked ages before and had been sitting waiting for delivery. We have now ripped up the menu and will not be using Cobo again. They need to decide if they are a restaurant or a take away....they obviously can't cope with both.

Although I appreciate what others have said about the number of takeaway visitors one sees when eating here, for me the quality of the food means I don't mind the bustle. It is good Chinese food with generous portions,well cooked. It is a small venue, if it didn't do take out and delivery the number of covers would be it difficult to keep going. I will be going again, and may even have home delivery!

Have had take away from here a few times before, and usually quality is average to fairly good. Last visit the food was very bland, and altogether uninspiring. Given that Cobo charges a premium on the back of its reputation for providing good food, the price on this occasion cannot be justified. We will not buy from here again. Disappointed.

Every thing about the dining experience is quality, from the food to the cutlery and crockery. If you were to be a bit picky, then you would say that perhaps the furniture is a little low rent and perhaps it might be something of a tight squeeze, but this adds to the ambience and conviviality. It is pretty much open plan, so if you like to sit in your own litte bunco booth, then this may not suit, but it's the food that makes up for that. The menu is adequate, rather than extensive, but as all of the meals are excellent, then we have never found this to be a problem, especially as, all too often, comprehensive menus can be oppressive. Equally, the bar has a resonable offering, in keeping with the food. It has been well matched, so this can't be criticised.The dishes have their traditional name, then an English explanation, which gives an air of authenticity, as well helping those who are less familiar.The staff are all well turned out and always in black. The premises are scrupulously clean, their manner is relaxed, but never casual and they are very pleasant in all of their dealings with patrons. Diners are never hurried and the mood is always serene.Happy enough to accomodate children, although there is no real evidence of a children's menu of the ubiquitous "chicken nuggets", but we feel that the restaurant benefits from this approach.They produce fine take aways, which manage to capture the essence of the restaurant meal, they will also deliver locally. In all, a fine dining experience from a family run retaurant with an eye for quality and excellence with a determination to maintain their high standards.

Haven't eaten here, would like to one day, but often get a take-away, best Chinese in our area (Aigburth)
