Excellent food. Very good service. Not cheap, and one dish (the prawns and peach) was over-priced even by the standards of the restaurant. Nonetheless, a first-class dining experience and we'll certainly go back as the dishes are in the main of top quality and of a type that one does not find elsewhere.

Great food - really imaginative and delicious. Let down by the service (at 13.5%). Our server obviously was having a bad day and not interested in our order. Plus quite a few of the other staff, in a not busy restaurant, had long faces. What's up?

Music very loud , air conditioned really high! Food full of garlic and salt . It is for people who have no clue of good food!

We ordered the pita cloud, an aubergine based 'small plate' to share, both delicious....unfortunately most of the time we were eating this we had a waiter's bottom hovering over our table as he bent over to take orders from the table next to us. We also ordered the grilled prawns with rocket...again, very tasty but at £26 for 4 prawns a little expensive. The waiter who brought our food was friendly and smiley. After this we shared the risotto with artichoke, also very tasty. We thought about whether to order coffee and dessert but it took us a long time to attract the attention of the waiter who took our orders (it wasn't that busy), so by the time he came over we had decided just to ask for the bill. Only a tealight in the bathroom on the way out was rather inadequate. So all in all, great food but disappointing on this occasion.

Woooow! Chef Asaf Granit's restaurant in London is a culinary masterpiece. From the first bite to the last, every dish was a symphony of flavors that transported me to a place of pure gastronomic delight. Each plate was not just a meal but a work of art, meticulously crafted with passion and precision. Every ingredient was thoughtfully sourced and expertly prepared, resulting in a dining experience that was nothing short of extraordinary. It's rare to find a restaurant that can evoke such a profound sense of nostalgia and pride, but Chef Granit's establishment did just that. We called in without a reservation and were lucky enough to get a table - and how pleased we were. The food was sensational, starting with the Kubalah and dips, followed by the aubergine tatare, shaved zucchini, hot smoked trout and, finally, the wonderful squid. What a feast! Combined with brilliant and fun service from Louse we had the most marvellous evening.

A fantastic restaurant for friends, family or anyone. Sharing plates which is always fun. My favourite dish is the aubergine tartare, full of texture and very light and refreshing. Simply stunning dish. Staff are always very informative and friendly. A great location within the King’s Cross shopping and dining development.

What an amazing meal - we ordered the asparagus, mushrooms and polenta, the squid and hispi cabbage, and the octopus - all of which were impeccable - but the real highlight was the breads ! The serve was excellent too, would highly recommend !

Words fail me - I don't think that I can find superlatives enough to describe the whole experience at the Coal Office. The menu, the service, and the food all exceeded expectations. If you enjoy Middle Eastern cuisine, you have to come to the Coal Office. From small plates to big, to dessert, we had an amazing meal, and the courtesy kindness and knowledge of the serving staff was second to none. We look forward to returning when next in London, and introducing friends and family to the joys on dining at the Coal Office.

Lovely looking menu but as we were sheltering from the rain we had a glass of prosecco each. Not chilled well and when the bill came it was 150rm! 3x the normally expensive price in KL. Won't be back:(

Gorgeous restaurant a short walk from King's Cross station. Serving modern, Middle Eastern food. We shared a variety of dishes including 3 delicious home-made breads with dips, meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. Sublime desserts including a mango sorbet with a chilli tuile! Busy venue with an open kitchen in part of the restaurant. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended.

Tasty food! Complicated in terms of extent of ingredients, but it works well. Staff are wonderful and so very attentive. Good wines by the glass and lovely atmosphere.

Overpriced and pretentious with very poor service. From the start things went downhill when the table for 5 wasn’t ready in time - would have been fine if there was somewhere proper to wait at the bar, but the bar area is a narrow corridor with tiny tables and we weren’t even asked if we wanted a drink. So we hovered in the way with staff pushing past. Food consists mainly of a narrow selection of shared plates. I thought restaurants had to show allergens ( and even calories) these days but the cole office obviously missed that memo. The pretentious menu was full of unexplained food without even indication as to what was veggie ( I still have no idea what hawije is). We ordered 5 sharing plates. One appeared ( very rich oily and absolutely tiny pan of polenta - looked like my daughters doll set). 15 minutes later, 3 more. A further 15 minutes later we complained that we were still waiting on a dish of spaghetti ( which takes max 10 mins to cook?). No one seemed bothered and it was eventually served consisting of a small bowl of spaghetti and mushrooms literally drowning in oily salty broth. The bill was eye watering and I struggled to think when I last paid so much, even for decent food. Felt totally like emperors new clothes simply because of who owns the place.

All I can say is wow!! The food was Michelin star quality, super fresh and creative and the service was extremely professional with a smile! Will definitely return! Thank you for an amazing evening x

We went to this restaurant without knowing anything about it. On arrival we were greeted warmly and offered detailed advice re the menu. The food was delicious and beautifully served.
