Clifton Cob Shop in Nottingham

Nice food at great prices. Especially a full English for under a fiver! I go here a lot and don’t think I’ve ever been unhappy with the food.

Shocked that the few ladies working in there have 0 idea about hygiene and contamination. Watched them cook fried egg on the same griddle they cooked everything else. Told them they were doing it and met with blank stare and an "oh, right..." bad hygiene in there as well as bad practice for people with allergies.

Bacon cobs and tea when you are soaking wet was amazing. An oasis in Nottingham! Thank you ladies.

Before arriving upon Clifton Cob Shop I scoured the reviews and to my surprise most were positive, so I had a good feeling about getting a nice Tuesday morning breakfast before I start my days work. However when I arrived things took a turn for the worse, first of all I wasn’t sure if it was actually open due to it being so dark in there but eventually I was greeted by 2 ladies with a regular Tuesday morning “hello”, I proceeded to ask for my chosen breakfast sandwich on toast to be told there was no bread, I was disappointed but I opted for what they call in Nottingham a “cob” (which is really a barm) I politely asked for the cheese on my breakfast to be melted as personally this makes it more enjoyable for me to which I was told “no” in those exact words, I asked why it wasn’t possible and one of the women said they won’t put cheese on the grill but I was assured it would melt as the food is fresh anyways to which I asked if they could leave the cheese off but I was told no again as it’s already on my barm, I just agreed hoping it would melt by the time I come to eat it. Oh was I wrong. The lady proceeded to build my breakfast barm not with fresh food but with food already prepared out of a holding unit. I reluctantly paid and proceeded back to my van to hopefully enjoy my breakfast but I couldn’t as to what I can only describe as a disaster unfolding before my eyes. Yesterday’s barms, hour old food and unmelted cheese, nightmare. Avoid at all costs.

Probably the best breakfast Cob(Bap) I have ever had. Even the wife was amazed by how good the bacon cob was. This place has found a special place in my heart.I cannot wait for my next trip to Nottingham. Compliments to the two lovely ladies who served us. They remind me of my favourite Auntie. I love them.

I was really skeptical about this shop at first because my first ever cob wasn't great. Since then I've been back many many times and decided to leave off the tomato sauce which was my main issue with my first visit, I simply don't like the sauce. The service is amazing, lovely ladies every morning, always cheery, speedy and great at what they do. This is my regular cob shop now, and I never even knew I needed one before! Thanks for all that you do ladies!

An amazing cob shop been staying round my partners whos been going here for years and as I'm off home today he took me here safe to say for my first time it was wonderful I had a bacon and sausage cob which was very filling and a take away tea which was made just right I will definitely be going again

Beware of the £1.50 before 9am sausage cob offer. If you add tomatoes or beans, they charge an extra £1.00. Very misleading, very naughty of the owner.
