Clay Oven in Coventry

Didn't know where the Clay Oven was or how long it had been open. But it was amazing. Beautiful food, lovely staff. Will definitely go back there.

If you're hungry be prepared to wait for a while, try cracking out the crisps and nuts and watch a 2 hour film. Then.. .. If your lucky ya dinner will turn up at the end.

Always lovely food and delivered fast, food piping hot and enjoyable.

Ignore the 2 and a half star reviews it is incorrect… I have been ordering from Clay Oven Coventry for a few years now and the food always arrives piping hot! And absolutely delicious… best curry in the area in my opinion I don’t normally leave reviews but I had to for Clay Oven Coventry … I would give 10 stars if possible!

I don’t get the bad reviews, for someone who gave up meat a year ago n can’t stand all the plant based stuff their food is delicious. Never had any issues all though going to just eat tonight they are no longer taking orders? Anyone no why, boring food again then!

Don't order from Just Eat as another restaurant makes the food so you don't even know where your food is coming from. Last two orders were appalling Boxes were smashed food spilt all over the bag and everything else. Avoid

Took over 2 hours for food to arrive. When I called to check on the order they said the driver had already left and should be with us soon… 35 minutes later still no food. Call back and they said the driver left only 20 mins ago and should be with us soon. Would only offer £5 discount for the issue, only accepted as it was getting late and didn’t want to wait for a different delivery! Shame as the curry was very nice! Manager on the phone was very rude and not very helpful or apologetic!

I have ordered , they charged for food and not delivered

After waiting over 2.5 hours for food it got delivered cold and unable called to inform them of this and all they said is oh hope you find a better take away next time. Then had the check to charge me full price. Wont use this take away again

First time of using Clay Oven. Food was delicious although needed a warm up in microwave for couple of minutes. Will certainly be using again.

2nd issue with this restaurant tonight. Last time it was over an hour late and had my partner waiting outside in the cold for 20 minutes. Was promised a free order by the owner. This time order no show after an hour rang to be told we haven't recieved your order despite having the confirmation email and money taken from my account. This Is a shame as I really enjoy their food here. And no This order wasn't given free as promised because the owner wasn't in today.

Very expensive for what you get.Curry with no rice. Would recommend everyone not to go near the place.

09/04/2020 (ordered via Just Eat) - Clay Oven took my money, I turned up on time to collect my order and they were closed tried calling and no answer tried a number of times since to contact them but no success. I would avoid and go else where - if I could give no stars I would.

Dont know if you've changed your chef, but 2nd curry in just over a week, and its changed. Not for the better. Dont think we will be ordering again

Avoid this place, not recommended at all! None of the dishes were restaurant standard, with terrible flavours. Everything was sweet even the naan, the chicken was raw, the samosa hardly any meat in it, they didnt even send the king prawns after charging for them and when we called back to ask why they said we didn’t order them even after it was confirmed on the phone! Awful Experience, not even worth 1/4 of the price paid!!

Love this place, amazing Indian dishes. Never had a problem and can’t fault the staff either, week in and week out. It’s a regular Friday night for us😊

Love Clay Oven, I love the food there and get on really well with staff and the manager, hes like my best friend lol I recommend ordering from here.

Food was missing from my order; my friend and I shared rice and chips and ordered accompanying curries. Hers turned up and she was happy. I had cold chips and rice on a plate waiting for mine. When I explained I wanted my curry with hot chips and rice they had the ordacity to try to charge me an additional £3.70!! Called them and was left on hold for nearly 10 minutes before I hung up and rang the driver. Really disappointed with Clay Oven this time 😠 Usually very good but let themselves down this time!

One of the best Indian takeaways in Coventry. Best to collect as delivery can be exceptionally slow. Disappointing that they only take cash, and do not honour online offers if you order in person!

Ordered food this evening, when it arrived my tandoori prawns were missing and i had a chicken dish instead. We called and asked for the correct dish to be sent. Their response was, we'll give it free next time. We refused and told them to bring the correct food. After agreeing they call me back to tell me there was no prawns (but didnt think to inform me before). I had to ask for a refund. We Will never order from this place again

This is probably the worst indian restaurant in Coventry after over an hour and forty five minutes late and lied to constantly by the staff on the phone regards the order saying it's on its way and promised free food with the original order in compensation for delay we received a curry not much better than a cheap supermarket curry stone cold no extra food and a delivery driver who could not care less.The takeaway told us when we called to complain that next time we order they would look after us next time LOL THERE WILL NOT BE A NEXT TIME.DO NOT USE THIS TAKE AWAY.

Found Rat dropping in food and the place as lots of rats in there watch out

This place is not reasonably priced on the tandoori mixed grill, you get the tiniest handful of meat for £7.95 and it's not worth it, I also got a keema naan which had a rubbish amount of meat inside, the tandoori meat was also very bland and dry and it got stuck in my throat, the chicken pakora starter for £3.25 was mostly bones, i did not enjoy this meal it was like sitting with 3 rubbish starters.

Apart from being a little late food was absolutely delicious would highly recommend this place to anyone especially the homemade curry had loads off flavour cannot fault the place at all I had to phone to see where my order was cause was a little late but staff were polite and helpful would definitely eat from here again 💯

Horrible food, ordered chicken tikka masala and i couldn’t eat this at all and had to goto bed just eating the naan bread. Chicken curry is so sweet like I’m having a desert, and the cherry on the cake is the staff which are the most horrendous I’ve ever come across. If you desire authentic Indian tandoori food then steer clear of this place.

Will not be using them again. Took them 3 attempts to bring the correct order. was short changed. Food was warm at best. Person who took my call was rude and dismissive..

Great takeaway food. Been here twice now and never disappointed. And I'm very fussy and tricky to please when it comes to takeaways.

Worst food I have ever ordered was nearly an hour late was all either cold or burnt the pop is out of date to be completely honest I will never order from them again it's a disgrace within 20 mins of eating the food my fierce is now throwing up thank you for the food poisoning you should be shut down

What can I say, check your order ! ! ! Tandoori roti ordered, no tandoori in the roti. When I called i was told it was not ordered but i paid for it ! Free offer of chicken tikka starter for orders of £15 not included. When I questioned this i was told it was not mentioned in the order (it was). But they had given me a free onion bhaji, I had paid £1.95 for them in my original order oh and I paid £1.95 for 2 vegetable samosa. First and last time don't waste your time

Best Indian takeaway in Coventry! Service is quick, staff friendly and food is amazing. I order the Saag Panear with the Chicken Korma with Bajhis and the meat stuffed peppers

Have been ordering for awhile now, I absolutely love it! Food is great and service is amazing.

I didn't, having ordered food from there week after week and in fairness getting fair service. The last 5 weeks have been awful, tried to order cannot understand English. If you get past that the food arrives so late it's past bedtime or its stone cold it's inedible. Shan't be using there again
