Classic Wok in Wiltshire

Working away and I've had a few great Chinese around the country, unfortunately this wasn't one of them. A mixed starter consisted of 4 burnt ribs, some fried wontons that didn't taste of anything and some prawn toast that wasn't topped with prawns, more like some kind of fish paste like crab sticks, tasted ok but not prawn toast. The hot and sour soup was neither hot or sour, more salty and the chicken tasted funny so I left it. I also ordered a Singapore chowmein but received a king prawn chowmein, probably an accent issue as I'm not from down this way and to be fair the chowmein was OK tbf. Sorry for the poor review but it's honest, there's loads better places out there. Ps. the service was great tbf, very friendly.

Don't believe the negative reviews written on here, (some people get a kick out of writing them) We've been collecting from Classic Wok for more years than I would like to remember. Only ONCE had a mix up on a meal (& that was amicably sorted) Have tried l of the Chinese takeaways in Chippenham but keep returning to The Classic Wok as their food is consistently good & comparable to many of similar establishments in HK & QL

The Portions sizes is terrible for the price £18.60 for 6 little vegetable rolls 6 King prawns and 1 egg fried rice and not even worth eating 😡

Worst Chinese takeaway i have ever had. The special fried rice was uncooked and tub was moldy. My entire order was given freezing cold and my water tasted like hydrochloric acid. Vile takeaway do not ever go

DO NOT eat from here. Ordered chk chow mein, special curry, beef curry & roast duck Chinese style with extra bbq sauce which was vile. Half a pot of hoisin and half a pot of soy sauce. Bitter and salty. Complained to staff and was told, “well that’s our bbq sauce”, got home to find the chow mein all stuck together and undercooked. Rang to complain again and manager was rude!! Asked for a refund and she refused point blank!!! Absolutely no customer service what so ever. Will never eat from here again. Wish I read the reviews. If you want a nice Chinese then 100% go to Golden Dragon. Only reason I didn’t order from them tonight was because they were closed. A waste of £40! The food really was that bad….🤢

We had a takeaway from Classic Wok and it was absolutely lovely, so fresh and very tasty. It was probably the best Chinese we have had in a long while. We would highly recommend it, if you haven't tried it already! Keep up the good work guys! We will definitely be back, as it's the closest Chinese to us. 👍🏾😊

I wasn't too sure because of the reviews, however my sister said it was nice so my dad ordered, and I was very happy that we did order from classic wok. The customer service was lovely, the other customers were also lovely. There was a long wait, however, they were very busy which is always a good sign. And I am looking forward to ordering from this place again. ☺️

Reasonably priced and quickly cooked but the food wasn’t great. Chicken in the chow mein tasted a bit off. Everything very greasy and the sauces were so over seasoned we couldn’t eat them. So much salt! Nothing tasted fresh and the premises looked a little grubby. Won’t be going there again. Sorry!

We ordered 3 dishes. The chow mein was ok but the chop suey was tiny and mostly juices. The other dish (can't recall) was so strong garlic it was inedible. We went to the shop and ordered and waited 45 minutes for the food. We'll miss this place in future

what a rubbish place this is don’t eat here absolutely no taste on the food , the chicken chalmain tastes like beef stew and they put hydrolic acid in my water what a shame

Very very poor customer service. Appalled by the quality of the food. Was stone cold when first served. Was stale and could tell it had been left a while. Also did not care very much about my dying nan in a wheelchair. Left outside in the wet and cold while we ordered. Overall very disappointed. I overheard the workers laughing at the state of a homeless who was sat freezing round the corner. I went in and it stank of urine and there was mice outside the restaurant. 100% never going back again and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

Wasn't to bad. Food was good but not amazing. Service was fast. Will use again. Haven't tried there delivery yet. But collection time was quick.

Food was good BUT menu leaflets are dated 2015! You can not get menu with current prices anywhere in the promises, not even online in 2022 🤯 They are not able to print it for you, you have to ask how much every meal cost when you order. Even if you ask for itemised bill you won’t get it regardless that one is produced for the kitchen but not for customer. I stop ordering from them As I don’t like this kind of practice.

Had Chinese from here ended up in hospital with salmonella was in hospital for two weeks don't order from here trust me

Phoned order for collection told it would be ready in 35 to 45 minutes arrived to collect approx 45 minutes after initial phone call to find they hadn't even started to prepare our order had to wait approx 25 minutes for the order to be ready when we got home we found the food to be disgusting obviously cooked in a rush & no care taken to ensure quality of food will never go back

This is our go to Chinese restaurant. They're food is always bang on, the team are always so friendly and when ever they say an hour to 1.5 hours it's usually so much faster. The food is always hot and tastes amazing. Couldn't be a better Chinese around.

What a pile of rubbish only offered to replace 1 dish ev3n though whole Meal disgusting

Ordered a friday takeaway food was the worst i had hairs in my special fried rice the food tasted dirty when i called to speak to manager she was really rude i took it back for a refund wouldnt even feed my dogs the food they sell

Friendly staff and lovely, very tasty food. It may not look so special from the outside but certainly my favourite Chinese takeaway within driving distance.

£13.60 for this absolutely no taste what so ever salt n chilli chicken plain rice chips and curry sauce never again how can it be so bad at them prices

Good takeaway food and does a door service

Decent Chinese, all the usual dishes you would expect, reasonable portion sizes. Not the healthiest take away though, menu a little lacking in veg, but what they do is well cooked. Cantonese ribs very good.

Great food and very spicy salted chilli chicken is my personal favourite

Delicious food but a bit pricey.

This place offers the best Chinese food in Chippenham. The food arrives quick and if you collect, the staff are very warm and they treat you like you've gone there for years even if you haven't been there before.

One of the best Chinese food takeaways in Chippenham.... food is tasty, delivery always on time and there is a huge menu.

Very impressed by the food from here, we have made a switch from our nearest Chinese as we became disappointed. The portion sizes are healthy, however they don't do Thai curry. Still worth a visit.

Just thrown half of my Beef Chow Mein away. It was nearly all noodles with just a few scraps of Beef onion and a couple of bean sprouts.It was also dry ,tasteless and needed more seasoning.Won't be going batk there which is a shame as a few years ago they did a great chow mein

Nice food on the expensive side though, and avoid big orders as it gets crammed into 1 bag and it makes the bottom containers leak into bag

years we've been using the Classic Wok, the food is superb, how they get it right all the time, is beyond me, utterly brilliant service and I refuse to go anywhere else.

Brilliant food at a competitive price

Cooked and delivered within 10 mins, the chips was hard (uncooked!) as was the bamboo shoots and cashew nuts, the sauce was almost tasteless, I should of saved my money and cooked won't be having classic wok again! Very dissapointed.

Everytime i order a meal, its quick, hot, tasty and i get great service....top marks...Been using them for years now...

After 2 years of getting dinner from here I'm bitterly disappointed that tonight they forgot to put the duck in with the rest of the meal, got cucumber and hoisin sauce, just no duck... A simple mistake but to make things far worse instead of apologising even though we offered to collect the duck ourselves they have refused to believe us, even as regulars and now my wife has to take the whole meal back to prove its not there, so now my dinner is going to be be cold... A very poor example of customer service... Charlie
