Classic Canton in Leicester

This is my go to takeaway but they really messed up Saturday 28th September . My vegetarian delight £7.10 with delicious Cantonese spices was anything but as forgot to put the spices in. So I could've got the plain veg mix dish for four pounds less

Food was made to order so was fresh and hot. I was served immediately upon entering the takeaway and was told how long the food would take. Parking can be a pain, However on this occasion there was plenty of parking directly outside..Highly recommended

First time trying this takeaway, and will not be going back. Rice was stuck together and over cooked, turned to mush in my mouth.

Tonight's food was awful. Chips fried to nothing probably fried more than once. Rice was all stuck together, was given sweet and sour sauce instead of barbecue...what a waste of money 💰

Gone to this Chinese for years, really didn’t feel right from the phone call things had changed. Food arrived 1 hour and a half after order, some of order missing all food cold, chips definitely warmed up, we had beef and mushroom egg fried rice, beef slimy totally put us off, never ate the meal, £30.00 in bin never again

Used for over 20 yrs always payed by card . Last couple mths they say no cards excepted for delivery .but you can fetch un pay by card they charge delivery ..so to me seems like a tax fiddle .wont be using again

We have coming to this take out for over 20 plus years and never had a bad take out. The staff are friendly the take out restaurant is clean. Would recommend it very much.

When I first moved round here this takeaway was amazing, it has gone downhill so much, I don’t know if over the last few months they have changed the chef but the food has literally gone from brilliant to inedible, even the egg fried rice tastes disgusting, I won’t be using again it’s absolutely revolting

Place order for collection, as with most oriental places you ask them to read the order back, the person taking the order read it back exactly as it was ordered but then missed an item off the order that we had just placed, had to go back down, and and meanwhile let the rest of our foodis cold ...shocking service, slowly going down hill, look for somewhere more compitent

Best Chinese in Leicester. The food is always fanstastic and I have been using these for at least 15 years. Not sure where the bad reviews come from as I have never had a bad meal from here. Delivery can sometimes take a while (usually about an hour) but this is because they are so busy. If you can’t wait this long, then preorder and go and collect.

Do not use these… disgusting me and my two daughters have been bad for 4 days stomachs pains and constantly on the toilet vomit also

We go here regular The food is excellent And the staff are well managed You see all the food cooked in front of you And you have a good choice The flavours are amazing That's why I give it 5 stars

Best chinese in Leicester. Can't be the only one who thinks so either because everytime i go to collect it myself its always rammed and the phones are going off constantly lol. Food is very tasty, good portion size, always fast service and prices are fair. Brilliant

Ok, salt and chilli chicken wasn't good at all and this is a simple dish, we ordered the food ahead but it seemed like they through it together on the spot 👎🏾 the Singapore chow main was ok 3 star definitely

*ammended review* 2021- I don't what's happened to this place? New management? New chefs? But it's gone downhill. Had a meal on Saturday and it was ridiculously salty and greasy. Inedible and a waste of money. Such a shame. Now on the search for a new place to get our saturday eve chinese fix! 2019- Our go to chinese takeaway. Friendly staff. Food is always delivered at the time promised and is a good price. The kung po beef just melts in your mouth. Delicious!

Went to The crown today, terrible food. paid half the bill, came home ordered Classic canton. Bloody fantastic. Take my money 💵💸🤑

Ordered food at 5.50 was given a delivery time of within the hour 1 hour 20 minutes later still no food. Called to check on progress was told it was going out for delivery. Another 45 minutes pass food turns up in a bag full of condensation as if the food had been sat in the bag for 50 minutes. Food was barely hot and I will not order from there again.

Ordered beef & mushroom curry! Told would be 15 mins delivery, an hour later it arrives, luke warm, bland and tasteless. The curry was watery with no taste i would not have fed this my dog!!. Really disappointed as i was looking forward to this and have ordered from here for the last 14 year's but won't be again!

Ordered a chicken & black bean sauce which is usually great but today was so poor. Order was delivered in what felt like five minutes from ordering. Sauce tasted very watery and flavourless and did not enjoy this meal at all. Tried to ring back to give feedback but no answer. Can't see myself coming back anytime soon. Very poor and rushed. Zero friendliness from delivery driver too who parked at a stupid angle in the road and on the pavement even though I tried to be friendly with him . All in all a waste of money and bad experience. Have been away six months abroad too and was looking forward to a good Chinese. Not today....

Placed an order 2 hours ago and still not here you rang hour ago to see how long they said another half hour rang again 15 mins ago they said on way still not here yet I live round corner absoloute joke..

Food was all nice apart from wasent keen on the salt and chilli chips. Not happy about the wait tho took 2 and a half hours for it to be deliverd!

Been going too these for a few years now, bit into a piece of chicken tonight and was like jelly had a look at was fully pink inside (pics to prove) rang them up and tried telling me it was seasoning

Absolutely disgusting! Me and my family order from here at least once a week and have always been loyal to ordering from this chinese. However after ordering tonight i will not be going back again! I found 2 long black hairs in my food and called to resolve the problem. They refused to give me a refund, were incredibly rude, called me a liar and put the phone down on me. After being such good customers they were nothing but vile!

Absolutely appalling service. DO NOT USE THEM!!!! I ordered a rice dish and they sent me a chow mine and when I rang and questioned this they told me there was nothing they were willing to do and put the phone down on me. TERRIBLE PEOPLE, TERRIBLE SERVICE!

Ordered nearly 30 pounds worth of food to find once delivered the appetizers were full of oil dripping in the container overcooked were not fit for human consumption would not even feed the dog the sweet and sour chicken balls left a bad taste in mouth as well as oil the chips were hard over cooked as if they were warmed up again old chips not fresh what can i say about rest of food BINNED when phoned restaurant to complain spoke to lady manager also said she was owner but refused to give her name stating that nothing would be done about food as she said nothing.was wrong with it stated that no refunds are given on bad food or cold food stated that if you want the food to be not well oiled ask the food to be not well done AVOID THIS TAKEAWAY as if you want good food you will not get it and the owner and manager will fob you off and take your money and will not bother with complaints

i've used this place many times before and the food has always been good but this time has been ridiculous and i wont be ordering from here again. i placed an order for delivery and was told it would be an hour for delivery, it was a bit longer than was ideal but i accepted this. i called back after an hour and 15 mins to find out where my food is. had to use a different number as they wouldn't pick up. told it was next to be done, they wouldn't cancel the order and give me a refund. its well over an hour and a half since i placed my order and still no food.

Very greasy had a pancake roll and it left the bag it came in with a gallon of oil in the bottom prob not going to use this place again.

Friendly staff. Delicious food. They rarely make mistakes with your order. Best Chinese in the area.

used to be a great takeaway but in the last few months the food has been horrible. used to love there chow mien but has been salty, Bbq sauce was more like gravy, pancake rolls were well over cooked. sweet and sour sauce was way to sour and even the sesame king prawn toast was soggy and burnt on the crust

I've been coming here for 15 years, & didn't mind the hour wait, but last night I rang them at 6;30 made my usually £20 order like I do on every usually Friday evening, so I waited, waited, waited, trying calling them phone constantly engaged, waited waited tried calling again at 9:40 a knock on the door, I open it, this guy standing there with my food, sorry for the wait.... The wait I said its nearly 10 I called at 6:30 oh we been busy speak with the manager, so I said yeh I will & you can take the food back I don't want it now... So I called the manager explained I've waited 3 hours for my meal, she was sorry we been really busy, busy I rang a hour and 30 mins after you opened fair play a hour but I'm shall I wasn't that far behind the que, then she said people have come in to shop & waited half hour, so I said so I should of come in to shop, even tho I pay more for delivery & they still got there meal quicker than me.. We went back & fourth then She slammed phone down.. So it's a shame because I've been a customer for so long but not putting my money in that vile women's pocket, it's gone so down hill...so if anyone can recommend a good Chinese restaurant that would be brill

Food was fine, but we ordered a bottle of coke with the meal and that came opened and we could clearly see some had gone out the bottle.... when I rang them back to ask why, they more or less called me a liar :( great customer service ( NOT )

Best Chinese Takeaway in Leicester. Very clean place, you can watch them cook behind the counter. Portions are large and food is of excellent quality. Recommend the curries and chow mein; pancake rolls and chilli chips are great sides too! Compared to the various places I've been in Leicester there is no better value for money.
