Employ staff and then do not pay them

The food was decent but overly sweet (we got the lamb purne) they forgot my order and my drink and had to wait 40 minutes for the 1 meal we got! On that basis I wouldn’t go there again or if you’re on a time crunch then I would reconsider your options.

Absolutely amazing food, service and and everything was great. Highly recommended, another thanks to the super friendly staff would definitely come back again.

We had a lovely dinner here last night. The food was tasty and had a good variety of Syrian and Mediterranean food. It is a new business in town and I hope it does well, as I look forward to coming back and trying other dishes.

Originally planned to have a meal somewhere else, however they couldn't fit us in. Called up at Blaze and they agreed to cater for the 10 of us despite being understaffed! The service was great and the food was amazing, as a vegetarian I'm not keen on eating out but the falafel burger on offer was delicious. Will definitely come again

We had a lovely time here. The hanging kebabs were brilliant as you don’t see them very often. The atmosphere was great and the services was very good. Really convenient for other bars and restaurants in the town centre and the train station near by. Thanks

Had previously been and really enjoyed the food so we booked it again with a member of staff for Thursday the 23rd. We arrived on Thursday to find it was closed no one informed us despite leaving a contact number and email. It said they were open online tried ringing and no answer. Had to go home as it was busy and no where else had availability. Very disappointed as we were really looking forward to eating here again

Such a great visit. Called in on spec. Team worked hard to get us a table then get served really quickly when we mentioned we were off to the pantomime. Such a friendly attentive team. Great food. Had the beef and chicken burger combo (forget the name), superb. Grolsch in tap to top it off. Kids had the kids set meal after being advised were quite big (refreshing honesty). Really fresh food and.plenty of it as advised. Really enjoyed the whole visit and thorughly recommend. Thank you.

Beautiful food. Went there last minute for my birthday this evening with family. Booking was easy and the staff were super accommodating. Speedy service, amazing food and cocktails and not only was my meal free because it was my birthday, but they also brought out a chocolate brownie and ice cream as a surprise. Definitely recommend and we're already talking about when we're coming again. Lovely welcoming atmosphere 😊

Fantastic food and huge portions We dined at this restaurant on Monday night and I can highly recommend this place for a great meal in Chesterfield I had the Chicken and chorizo skewers starter and the lamb kebab my partner had a burger and taco starter The food was fantastic and the service was really good and the waitress was very helpful and Knowledgeable re the ingredients I will definitely go back

A very warm welcome from the staff. They couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. They even got my little girl crayons to entertain her whilst she waited for her food. Food was excellent, great value for money - we will definitely be back!

Underwhelming and no grill to be seen. Ordered via Just eat and delivery and packaging were fine. Lots of wrap and sadly not environmentally responsible. Ordered flat breads with a side of onion rings and loaded fries. The flatbread was an uncooked tortilla. Was expecting a proper flatbread. Tortilla needed to be golden but was white and flabby. Toppings were inconsistent and didn't match the menu. Tahini missing from one, tomato missing from the other. Was expecting the pulled chicken to come from the grill but it was a bit dry and bland, no seasoning or flavour at all. Had been looking forward to slightly smoky grill taste but it wasn't there. The pickled cabbage was nice. Onion rings were ok. Loaded fries didn't have the Cajun seasoning. The guacamole and sour cream were fine but again no seasoning to lift. Overall it was a miss, as it wasn't what the menu led us to expect and didn't deliver on taste. Hopefully it can get better as there is potential in the menu for something different in Chesterfield.

Had a fabulous time at Blaze Bar and Grill, the food was excellent, the staff are absolutely lovely so friendly and made the atmosphere very enjoyable! Would recommend to anyone! :)

We were looking around Chesterfield and called in on Saturday afternoon for a 4 person birthday celebration. Staff were great and even went out to buy some English mustard for one of our diners. Fantastic food and drinks. Thoroughly recommended. 5 stars.

We just happened to come in on shirt notice, the waiter was nice and the food was good. Could use a little more seasoning but that's just my personal tastes.

Called in at short notice with a table booking for 10 people. I have to say the staff were super friendly, accommodating and really helpful when other places had turned us away! The food was amazing, really tasty and the burgers enjoyed by all (including the veggie who had a falafel burger). It was great value too. Would highly recommend a visit and my family suggested we go in again for ne, t birthday meal! Blaze special burger was delicious 😋

I booked to have my birthday meal here in March but unfortunately we went into lockdown, I had paid £140 deposit and really I should have been given this money back but I agreed with the owner/manager to give me a credit note to spend at any time. I rang to book a table on 17/9 and explained about my credit note and the person let me book the table for 21/9. We arrived and ordered and I presented the waitress with my credit note, a few moments later the owner/manager the SAME PERSON who had wrote me this credit note back in March told me that he was the new owner and he knew nothing about it and that he had just took over the restaurant!! He stood there and tried to tell me that it wasn’t him but we BOTH know that’s not true!! I wouldn’t recommend booking here and giving money upfront to this DISHONEST FAMILY BUSINESS!!

Booked and payed 140 deposit before lockdown ... tried to use A voucher that was given back to us and not accepting it .. would not recommend anyone to use this place and I hope the good people of chesterfield spend there money elsewhere .. should not be allowed to trade in chesterfield.. shambles

I eat regularly around different restaurants in Chesterfield due to my work. The food here was excellent however my only gripe was the size of the portions. My pasta dish was too small for £13 and I left still wanting more.

Always love eating here the service is good and no rushing you out. The food is cooked fresh and is lovely. The pork loin special starter was bloody lovely. I had a change this time opting for cod instead of seafood pasta and it didn’t disappoint. Again a wonderful home cooked scicilian meal thank you all.

Food tasted good but under presented & over priced for a microwaved meal. Drinks also very expensive. Not told on entry that card machine was not working - luckily we had cash!!!

Having never tried Sicilian food before, we weren’t sure what to expect. But we were pleasantly surprised! We ordered the Antipasto to start which we loved, especially the Arancini. Then cod fillet and a seafood risotto for our mains. All thoroughly enjoyable. Props to the chef for the presentation of the dishes!! The restaurant has a lovely romantic feel and our waitress really looked after us. Thank you for a wonderful evening and we look forward to seeing you soon :)

We were recommended to eat here but were left disappointed. The service was slow, even though the restaurant was not busy. We waited a long time for starters and our main meal was over 2 hours after we arrived. Another table complained about their wait and when their food arrived they complained about the quality, at which point the chef became very aggressive to everyone in the restaurant, demanding what we all thought of our meals. Our food was average at best, but it was the wait and the service that let us down, along with the bizarre Basil Fawlty performance.

Fantastic little restaurant!We went there for my birthday, neither of us had been to a Sicilian restaurant before so were looking forward to it.Wow what a lovely little restaurant, we were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table.The specials were explained and we were left to decide what we wanted.We both chose scallops for starters followed by salmon for my husband and the cod in black tempora batter.all dishes were cooked to perfection and were delicious.Would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I have been around 5 times now with my family, and every time we have been everyone has loved the food and had a great time, the staff are lovely and the food is amazing! (The spaghetti bolognase is 11/10 from me!)

First visit to this Scilian restaurant - excellent menu without offering too many options; service excellent with very friendly staff - can't find anything to complain about - will be back in the near future.

Popped into this lovely little restaurant this evening, we didnt have a booking but they accommodated 6 of us with no problem. Staff were really friendly and food was fantastic. Our first visit but definitely not our last.

A group of us went to Ciuri Ciuri for a pre theatre meal. The food was exquisite and the staff were wonderful. They were friendly, attentive and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Authentic Sicilian food in a lovely restaurant cooked and served by real Italians. Beautiful food and beautiful people. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant too highly. 10/10 all round. We will certainly be back.

Booked on trip advisor recommendations as we are out of the area and we certainly weren’t disappointed! Excellent service and open kitchen, and the food was amazing! Only thing that could have been better was that the toilets were freezing but that doesn’t take away the quality of the food! Will definitely return if we’re in chesterfield again!

So we’d heard & read great things about this little restaurant in Chesterfield & with friends who were over from Sheffield, we decided to give it a try.The staff were warm & welcoming on arrival. After a few minutes looking over the menu, our drinks orders were taken & once they arrived, our food order was taken. The starters arrived quickly & we all enjoyed them. After around 5 minutes after the starters had been cleared away, the mains arrived. My husbands risotto had a lot of liquid swimming on the plate but he said it was ok, just not the best risotto he’d ever had. The other mains were ok, nothing out of the ordinary but hot & well presented. We decided to order desserts & that’s where it all went wrong! The dessert menu states ‘homemade’ so we ordered 2 strawberry cheesecakes, a tiramisu & a crepe type dessert. On arrival, it was clear to see that the cheesecake was a frozen one that you buy from any supermarket with soggy, canned strawberries on top (but they had the cheek to charge £5 per piece!) my crepe was ok but filled with hard chocolate chips so it took some chewing. My husband had the worst dessert when he opted for the last remaining tiramisu (his favourite dessert may I add) he took a big spoonful in only to discover that the mascarpone was off! He described the taste like blue cheese & felt physically sick! We call the waitress over who’s response was that it had been made today & all the others had been ok. My husband told her to try it as this was definitely not ok! The chef tried it & agreed that it was off- definitely can’t have been made today like the others, we wondered if it had been left at the back of the fridge all week, as that’s certainly what it tasted like. A waitress bought over 4 lemon shots & apologised for the dessert. My husband downed 2 of the shots but still couldn’t rid his mouth of the gone off cheese taste. The final experience of this restaurant has definitely put us off & sadly we won’t be returning. To serve gone off & shop bought dessert (but advertise them as homemade) is not good enough & that’s why this restaurant only gets an average rating from us,

I was very disappointed with this place. I have never written a bad review before but the service was just awful. We was greeted by a FOH lady who looked like she didn't want to be there. We got seated and we got our drinks quite quickly....however, it took them another half an hour to take our order which by then, I was bored and hungry. The restaurant wasn't full, however there was a couple of parties which I felt they took more interest in. Our food came at quarter to 10...we got there at 8:30. We also saw another couple that had been waiting for their food for 1hr and 45 mins. I understand that parties are difficult to cater for but if that's the case, then there should have been another member of staff. Only one waiter was even taking orders and I also had to remind them to even take ours. By the end of the evening I asked for the bill...they then took another ten mins with that...but by then we just placed cash on the table and left. Food was lovely and the chef did I good job....however the service was just not good enough

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. The staff are so friendly & welcoming. I’m vegetarian and I can be quite fussy with food but there was so much choice. They also have a separate vegan menu which was great to see!

Me and my girlfriend were literally sat being ignored by the wait staff for over 40 minutes. Didn't even see any food until over an hour had passed. We were given a horrible thrown together appetizer as the waiter passed us by. I honestly dont mind the staff at least taking my order then at least I'm processed. The waiter came over as I put my jacket on to leave. The food was average at best when it arrived 105 minutes in. Heard the couple complain next to us that their food was taking too long also. To which the waiter told them 'they dont know how restaurants work'. I was never offered a second drink or asked how the food was. I am actually embarrassed to have taken my girlfriend here honestly. I was 35 into waiting after asking for the bill before said waiter persuaded the group next to us to have a round if limoncello. I threw what I thought was the bill on the table and walked out. To be honest in want a refund. Completely ruined my valentines.

Me and my partner visited for valentines day. It was our first visit so we decided to test ther steak and red wine jus since this tends to be our favourite meal when we go out. We were amazed! The steak was cooked perfectly, the jus was beautiful and the staff were able to accommodate my partner's british obsession with chips. The only thing I could offer as advice for improvement is you need to give us more of the red wine jus! It's amazing, if I could pay £5 for a small bottle to take home I would! Excellent food, excellent front of house staff and an amazing experience. Ill be back soon! Thank you!

Great food cooked to perfection, menu a little limited but I found something I liked and I'm fussy. Service a little slow when it's busy, but not a problem. You must try this restaurant for yourself.

I have been debating whether to give Ciuri Ciuri 3 or 4 stars but finally settled for 3. The food was lovely and the staff were really friendly however it felt like they were not on top of dealing with the customers, allow me to explain. We had a table booked for 6.30 however due to no fault of the restaurant we were about 10 minutes late. However we were immediately seated behind the door and our order was placed shortly afterwards. Not long after we arrived the table next to us vacated and we asked if we could be moved, and the staff were happy to accommodate. At about 7.20 the waitress came back to our table and informed us the manager had offered us a free drink (at this point we hadn't even realised how long we had been waiting) our meal came out about 10 minutes later shortly followed by our complimentary drinks. After we finished our main course the waitress collected our plates and asked if we would like to see the desert menu. She then carried on serving and clearing other tables. It wasn't until we caught her attention about 10 minutes later that she came back and read us the desert menu. There were some empty tables in the restaurant and I feel that if it had been full it would have been too much for the staff to cope with. As I said in the first paragraph the food was delicious and the staff were friendly. Would I come here again? The answer to that is yes

I have visited ciuri ciuri a few times and every single time the food has been absolutely gorgeous and the staff have been brilliant. We visited on New Year's Eve and had a delicious meal, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were all fantastic. Ciuri ciuri is our absolute favorite restaurant in Chesterfield! Could not recommend the place more!

It was my first time visiting Ciuri Ciuri on Saturday night. They kindly managed to accommodate us even though we hadn't booked - although I do recommend booking in advance as they did get busier as the evening went on.

Amazing place with lovely food that was cooked to perfection. The staff are so friendly and they went out of their way to stay open later so we could have a meal for my birthday. Perfect service would 100% reccomend will definitely be returning.

Came here for a friends Christmas meet up. There were 13 of us and we had pre booked all of our food.

We ate here on Christmas Eve arriving around 8:30. There was a few tables in and we were shown to our table by the friendly Santa suit wearing waiter. However, we were disappointed that he had taken the Santa suit off when he came to take our order.

This restaurant came highly recommended and as we had a birthday in the family to celebrate we decided to give it a go, and we're pleased we did.

A little gem of an Italian restaurant in the middle of Chesterfield. Although parking in Chesterfield generally isn't great (you can thank the council yourselves), the restaurant is a 5 minute walk to either the donut car park or the Crooked Spire for parking. Food is excellent, unfussy and authentic. The chef cooks from an open kitchen and was really friendly, coming out a few times to talk with us, especially our kids (who can be a bit of a handful at times, but were made very welcome). Portions are very generous, even kids' portions; you won't leave feeling hungry. Service was also very, very good, just the right level of laid-back for a family-run place. Snappy enough without hanging over your shoulder, or being stuck up and pretentious. The young woman serving us was great with our kids too, and gave us some complimentary limoncello digestifs. The restaurant itself is quite nicely decorated, half-rustic/half-modern, and has a lovely small-place vibe. The acoustics are great, easy to hear and be heard without having to compete with room reverberance; it's just right. All on the flat, so no disability access issues either. I typically like to include a few negatives here, but genuinely am struggling. Portions were maybe very slightly over-generous if I'm being mega-critical, but you can't deny value for money. Parking in Chesterfield isn't great, but I'd have the same issue at any other eatery in town. That really is that for downsides. I had the place recommended and I wouldn't hesitate to do the same. It's the best Italian in town (and we've had a couple of good ones). In fact I'm looking forward already for my next trip. 5* all day long.

This was our first visit to Ciuri Ciuri and we were very impressed. The service was excellent with staff who were very attentive and got our drinks straight away. We had time to look at the menu and ordered whilst eating the complementary olives and bread crackers. The whole experience was relaxed - we never felt rushed, but staff were attentive. The food was stunning, although the pasta dishes were slightly 'wetter' than expected, the taste was delicious. I had the chicken with three cheeses and it was absolutely gorgeous! We didn't really have room for puddings, having had garlic bread, calamari and goats cheese starters to share.Next time I'll give the pudding a go! Limoncella as a complementary finishing drinks and we were off, very happy with the entire experience. Thank you so much!

Booked this restaurant for the team Christmas meal. Started off well with a warm welcome and nibbles on the table as promised. Atmosphere and decor were nice but we had to remind them that 2 free bottles of prosecco were included as part of the booking deal. I enjoyed my meal as did most people but what spoiled the evening was discrepancy about the bill which took ages to sort.

Although it was a soggy cold Thursday in November with lots of the local area flooded and the restaurant staff probably wishing they were back home in Sicily we were warmly welcomed and looked after.

We have visited this restaurant many times.The service and food has always been excellent. On this visit the menu had been changed.requested my usual choice from the previous menu. Not a problem,Fully enjoyed the food and evening.

I and six friends chose Ciuri Ciuri to dine after a Saturday matinee performance at the Pomegranite Theatre. I had booked the table for 6pm but due to play ending sooner than expected descended on them at around 5.30pm, we were made very welcome, all of the staff who dealt with us were superb. I was also encouraged by the fact that the place was around 70% full by around 6pm! The menu choice was excellent and staff were very attentive to those of our party who required a little more detail on some of the dishes. The kitchen is openly on view to the dining area which is still a little unusual in these parts but I find very encouraging that they have nothing to hide re cleanliness and staff working. When the food arrived it was all piping hot, well presented and generous portion sizes, and the menu caters well for vegan diet! I had the salmon pasta dish which was beautiful and my desert was the Tiramisu which was heavenly. All in all a great evening was had by all, with no rush to move us out after the meal! Definitely a Great Italian / Scicilian restaurant, great menu all cooked and served by a very welcoming and efficient Italian staff - the real deal! Will most definitely be returning soon.
