City Garden Chinese Cuisine Takeaway in Fife

First went into the shop in January to try their food seeing it was under new ownership, and was definitely not disappointed their food is excellent have been back 4 times well worth a visit

Have visited several times since the new owners took over - have yet to have a bad experience. Everything has been very tasty and very well made! Portions are large and food is always made fresh to order - staff are very polite and keep you up to date with when your food will be ready.

We had seen previous poor reviews and decided to risk it!!! Nice to see the wee up grade at the front space though. Curry sauce has changed and is disgusting and everything else was just yuck. Won't be back.

Waited nearly 2 hours for the delivery……called twice and was told it was coming! Still took way too long and staff seemed uncaring about the delay! I’m writing this as I still wait! I’ll finish it once the food arrives if it ever does………arrived nearly 2 and a half hours late and no prawn crackers even though they were nearly £4 extra! Worst place ever will not order ever again

First time for a takeaway, decided on delivery and the website said 60 minutes. When nothing has arrived and the countdown clock had ended, we phoned to check. The response was unhelpful and rude, but we did learn that our order hadn’t been started yet. When we asked if collecting would be quicker, the answer was that it would take another 50 minutes, but then a driver apparently came in, so they’d start on our order immediately. The delivery clock then reset to another 30 minutes. The food did arrive after 90 minutes, but although very hungry by then, we were immediately disappointed. The mixed starters were poor: empty spring rolls, dry ribs, greasy prawn toast. The mains were indistinguishable, despite being very different dishes, and all in the same sweet, gooey sauce and with huge chunks of red pepper, onion and carrot. The chicken balls were coated in thick and semi-raw batter. Only the chips and rice were good. Most of the food went into the bin and we’ll never order from here again

Have ordered from this restaurant 7 times now.The food is made in a quickly with no fuss. The food from this establishment i in my humble opinion is the best I've I've ever tasted, and the chefs and management seem to have a unique and delicate way of flavouring thier food. A simple two-meal order took nearly 3 hours to arrive. When we called to complain we were told that the driver would be 20 minutes, we phoned again after 40 minutes and were told he would be 5 minutes. A further 30 minutes later our food arrived. All dishes were bland, tasted nothing like the food that was ordered. Poor service, poor food. Will not be back.

Have had meals from here for years, definitely the best in Cupar always hot, watch it getting made and always very tasty never had a bad meal keep up the good work.

We are really big fans of Chinese food so I believe that we know a good takeaway when we find it and this is a good one.

We ordered a carry out and had to pay in cash as they don't take cards. Hubby's chow mein was tasty, plenty of it but also lots of bean sprouts packing it out. My salt and pepper chicken - well - the chips were mixed in with it for starters, making it half of a portion, and there was so little shredded chicken that it was basically a vegetarian dish. What little there was tasted nice but I won't be back - mystic dragon has better portion sizes, you get free crackers and the chips /rice are separate to dish.

Lovely Chinese food made fresh to order. The portion sizes are very generous. Staff's phone manner leaves a little to be desired but doesn't take away from the food

Very tasty food prepared in front of you while you wait. Every customer gets their food in turn so you know by who is waiting around you when your meals will be ready.

Really good curry with onions through it. Have to pay for prawn crackers when you get them free in other Chinese restaurants carry outs. Don't deliver which is a pity

Freshly cooked and very tasty food which you can see being cooked. Would definitely return and recommend.

located close to the main post office in cupar, the City Garden offers an amazing range of quality chinese food- all cooked to a high standard. Portions are generous and service as efficient as possible given the great popularity with both locals and tourists who have already found this place

Stopped off here this evening on my way home.First time visit to this takeaway. Shop frontage is quite attractive.On entering the premises I was surprised to see that it is all open plan. Small waiting area with ordering counter, and over the counter you can see all the cooking being done in their kitchen.I chose a king prawn fried rice. Didn't have to wait long. A reasonable sized portion. Prices are on a par with similar local establishments selling the same sort of food.Food was good and tasty enough. All in all an average Chinese takeaway.

Put simply, i have been using this Chinese for a few years now and it is spot on. Never had any problems with the quality of the food or service.

My partner loves the chicken curry from here but I've tried several different dishes as I don't like curry and they were all very bland in my opinion (sweet and sour, Kung po, honey crispy chicken, shredded chicken) and the rice seems to absorb any trace of sauce, leaving a dry mix. Delivery is not an option and the man taking the orders over the phone is quite rude. So if you like curry then yeah my partner would recommend this takeaway but it's a no from me.

The quality of the food is very good = cooked in front of you while you wait, the only criticism is the quality of Chips are not the best but after all it is a Chinese carry out facility.

Absolutely disgusting Cantonese Sweet and Sour Chicken. Tasteless and without sauce. 2nd fail so won't be back. Great pity.

Firstly is heard good things about this Chinese takeaway but always bypassed it for others (they don't offer delivery which may put people off).The menu is of good variety and you know it's cooked fresh as its done right in front of you which is a great touch to see .... Always wary what's lurking behind closed doors!!!

The food is of fantastic quality hot freshly cooked while you wait, the only down side is that they do not do home deliveries but that does not take it away from the fact that the Food is exceptional.

Just had a Takeaway from this Chinese food on offer in Cupar. Superb food is freshly prepared in a speedy manner and at reasonable prices. Plenty of Chinese dishes to choose from and you can see your food being prepared as you wait. Staff are also help full if you have any queries. Would highly recommend if visiting Cupar.
