Un colega y yo cenamos aquí a mitad de semana para encontrar el restaurante prácticamente vacío, lo cual no es una buena señal. Mi colega pidió el bistec y algunas batatas fritas mientras pedí una ensalada a base de remolacha. Terminamos con helado de chocolate y café. Sin alcohol y la factura llegó a más de 90, que pensé que era un poco rico. Las raciones no fueron particularmente generosas, a excepción de las papas fritas. El servicio estaba bien. En general, la experiencia fue algo decepcionante. No me apuraría y sugeriría que los visitantes coman en otro lugar.

This was great place to start the day before beginning out various excursions into London. The food was pretty good for a buffet and the service was fine. Only improvement would be to vary the menu more from day to day.

The breakfast buffet offered a hot food section, fruit & yogurt section, breads/rolls/muffin section, and hot oatmeal section. Wait staff was efficient bringing coffee, tea, etc.

Mi esposo y yo pagamos para el desayuno cada mañana durante nuestro viaje, y nos alegramos mucho de haberlo hecho! Nos quedamos agradablemente sorprendidos por todas las opciones de tocino, huevos de dos maneras diferentes, croquetas de patata, alubias, diversas frutas, queso y carne, galletas, croissants, etc.! Bien vale la pena el coste. Muy concurrido cada mañana después de las 9 de la mañana, pero el personal era muy organizada y rápida. Admiramos su eficiente sistema de llegar a todo el mundo sentado rápidamente. Quedamos muy satisfechos con la calidad!

Had dinner a couple of nights and wine food was good, service fast and prices are what one would expect in London and a hotel.

La cafetería es donde se sirve el desayuno buffet y ya que la zona es una pared hace seleccionando y sirve estilo diy muy agitado. Sin duda, necesita estar alerta si no quieres por avena derramada por otros demasiado ocupados charlando! El café se sirve en jarras en las mesas para servirte, pero en seguida. La miel en las ollas de plástico individuales tenía cristaliza en la parte inferior. La fruta fresca era mezclado con lata, no fue una experiencia agradable.

Inside the hotel it is an unknown to people walking by. The ambience was subtle but enough to make the place not feel like a hotel bar. Clientele usual hotel guests. Beers, wines and spirits well stocked. Food although didn't eat looked good. Price I would think little on high side but within hotel prices.Staff always moving the empty glasses and taking your orders. No complaints

Was very good for luncheons in the afternoons, but had a face lift and change in menus since and it not so good. It can be very expensive at times.

My husband and I stayed 7 days at the Doubletree-London. Buffet breakfast offered for around $15.00 a person. It's has a international flare. I love Waffles! The waffles offered were not fluffy, made by staff. They may want to purchased a waffle maker for the customers can make there own. It wasn't a over the top buffet. It's ok for maybe $9.00 per person.

The food is pricey but well worth it. Delicious, fresh, beautifully presented and delivered to the table by the wonderful, polite, friendly and highly professional staff. Don't be put off by queues as the staff move the queue through very quickly. At the same time you are not hurried at the table. 5 stars !

Its an ok place for breakfast although its not impressive. If I didn't get this as part of our room package I wouldn't stop there for breakfast. Its basic buffet breakfast. Not bad, just not that good and its a bit expensive.

Das City Café ist ein Teil des Hotel Double Tree Westminster. Dort wird vormittags für die Hotelgäst das Frühstück serviert. Buffet mit ausreichender Auswahl. Personal sehr freundlich. In den Hauptzeiten kann es eventuell zu kürzeren Wartezeiten kommen.

Attentive staff who cannot do enough to let you enjoy your visit. Efficient and with pleasant personalities, the staff are knowledgeable about both the menu and places of local interest.

Plenty of space in the cafe and a good selection. May need to be patient over breakfast, but you will get served and this is not a cafe that runs out late in the service slot - there is always plenty of everything.

Nothing lacking for any tastes: Vegan, soft diet, super coffe and tea...wife loves honey & lemons, which are hard to find. They brought her ample supply.

Lovely helpful staff but unfortunately, terrible food which could have been served in any low-end chain / cafe. We ate last night, today my stomach is exploding. Sweet potato fries were stodgy, mushy and greasy. The fat chips were only 6 on a plate, think 2 layers of jenga, and looked a few days old so I didn't even try them. Mixed salad arrived SWIMMING in oil, absolutely gross, it came back with dressing on the side but was mainly a bowl of lettuce with a few tasteless cherry tomatoes chopped in half and some skinny slices of raw pepper. That does not make a salad! The bowl of nachos had 2 crumbled pieces of un-melted cheddar on top, the sharing med platter had a tiny bowl of crusted hummus, just about enough for one person but not enough to share, again given the crust, didn't touch it, bit of cheese, ham and more really greasy aubergine, peppers etc which we didn't eat. Fried calamari and courgettes consisted of 3 rings of squid and 3 pieces of courgette about 2 inches long. wow. deep fried and incredibly greasy. And this is a Hilton?! Terrible. Unless you're desperate don't bother! My stomach is churning as I type this.

We ordered a range of snacks for a group of 4, including a platter, nachos, tempura courgettes & calamari, salad and a range of fries and chips. Generally the quality of the food was disappointing, save for the french fries. The nachos basically consisted of corn chips with unmelted cheese and a few dollops of guacamole and tomato-ish sauce on top. The 6 large chips we were served as a side dish were not cooked all the way through, and the salad was oily and unappetising. The staff were accommodating to a certain extent when some of these issues were pointed out, but essentially the quality of the food remained poor.

Had breakfast here when staying at hotel, was a good standard and staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good selection of fruits, cereals and cooked food. It wasn't cooked fresh but was fine

The is the restaurant inside the Hilton Doubletree Westminster hotel. The food is good and plentiful. The large portions make it stand out. It is on the pricier side but good. The breakfast bufett is very popular!

Excellent choice of hot and cold dishes available on a self service basis. Very friendly staff and good service. Large but well laid out giving impression of lots of space. Overall very good as you would expect from a Hilton hotel.

Do not pay for an executive upgrade, as it is not worth it. We expected a view with the upgrade. If you can eat elsewhere, do that. We thought the food in their breakfast eatery was better than the executive lounge.

The breakfast buffet has an excellent selection of hot and cold items. It includes fresh fruit, poached eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, tomato, assorted pastries, toast, cereals, fruit juices and coffee/tea. The staff is very helpful and work to ensure the food is fresh and replenished as soon as necessary.

Good range of Whiskeys. Food starts at over 15 pounds. All good. The room is basic in that corporate " isn't it great that trendy is also minimal, uncomfortable and cheap to set up".

One of the best afternoon tea in London, excellent service, great food and all in a modern, contemporary ambiance that it is not usual for the area. I'll also recommend their simple catch of the day or one of their excellent salads if you're looking for a frugal, small dinner around Westminster... not the easiest place to find, but a brilliant space for a good time with friends.

I wasn't amazed by the breakfast. Bacon was a little weird and eggs meh. Croissants with chocolate were great though. Espresso not that good. Staff was awesome.

We are a Swedish family and we were staying with our children and their paternal grandparents at the Double Tree Hilton at Westminster and ate often there, ( ie not just breakfast.) Two of our three children are allergic to milk protein and one is also allergic to soya products.This makes travelling and eating out rather difficult.We informed the staff at the hotel of this before our arrival and got the most fantastic response.They were vey helpful, above anywhere else we have stayed. They really went out of their way to make the children's stay a lovely experience free from tummy upsets etc.Greatly appreciated !!We are sorry we are rather late with this Review but life with 3 children (8,4 and 2 yrs) is rather hectic especially as we both have full-time jobs.

We planned to celebrate my daughter's birthday and needed to find somewhere nice to eat after seeing West end show. I made a reservation at the "City Cafe" DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London – Westminster following the purchase of vouchers from Travelzoo, as reviewers on the Tripadvisor web site had rated it highly.The restaurant is not in the theatre district but was well the short journey. The Travelzoo offer was excellent value for money. The choices on the "Specials" menu were good; the food was well presented and delicious. Staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. I'd especially like to thank Ellinor for the efforts she and the other staff made to make my daughter’s birthday celebration special. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful. We've had afternoon tea at several London venues and this is right up there with the best. Contemporary surroundings and extremely attentive staff. Offered more items several times. The food is excellent and served beautifully on a 'bookcase' type stand. We will definitely go back.

Had a deal with travel zoo 39 pound for two with a bottle of Prosecco, it was really good we all had steak for our main course it was small 6oz but was cooked to perfection. all of us were really full after the sweet. service good will most certainly go back .

Located inside the Doubletree hotel. We had 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner at the restaurant. The buffet English breakfasts were excellent. We had one of the 3 course dinners which consisted of a soup, the main of chicken and a dessert of ice cream. All food was excellently prepared.

Organised through Travel zoo, the meal was a deal of 3 courses with Prosecco for 2 at £39.00. It was quite empty in the restaurant at first but nice and warm and comfy. Service was very good, food was lovely, wine was not too dry, just chilled enough and tasty. Not rushed and atmosphere was good. A generally nice experience.

Very good meal in the City Café which was of a high quality. We were pleased with the service we were given and were happy, after a long day, to be able to enjoy our meal then retire to our room. Would recommend to other travellers either resident or non-resident.

I came here on a Monday morning, to treat my cousin to a champagne breakfast for her birthday.The breakfast was a continental buffet style and had everything you would want for a great start to the morning. The staff were extremely friendly and professional and the champagne was the perfect touch. I'm sure I'll come back here at some point. I wish you all the best with your experience here too.

Visited on a Saturday night with a travel zoo deal for three courses and a bottle of prosecco. Lots of choice to say it was part of the deal and the food was gorgeous. Service was good and would definitely visit again.

Had a gift of three course meal which had expired so the company gave the value of the voucher off the normal menu. Nice choice of dishes. Polite friendly staff. Slight annoying was a diner talking loud on his mobile phone. Otherwise pleasant experience and would return.

Came here midweek just as it opened at 6pm so was empty. Had starter and main course, both were very nice and well presented. Staff were polite and attentive. I would return.

This was a last minute Travelzoo deal we took up when we decided to have a day in London. The Double Day by Hilton is near the river and Tate Britain so it was convenient for us. The City Cafe in the hotel is spacious and tastefully decorated in subdued tones, the seating was comfortable.All the staff were welcoming and helpful. The deal was for three courses and a bottle of prosecco. The presecco was sufficiently chilled. The menu offered a reasonable choice and the food was good. It was an enjoyable meal in a pleasant atmosphere.

Excellent breakfast with numerous choices - something for everyone: meats, eggs, pastries, porridge, toast, fruit, yogurt. No reason to walk away hungry from here. Nice contemporary setting.

I was staying at the hotel with some Chinese customers (10 in total) and we booked a table for an evening meal at the restaurant. The food was great and the service impeccable. The hotel certainly gave my customers a good example of great British Food and excellent service.

My partner and I visited for a three course meal with wine, as part of a travelzoo voucher. We would have paid full price! The staff were fantastic and very hospitable. I had several great meals in City Cafe whilst staying in the hotel. All were excellent and very reasonably priced. The haddock fish cakes were fabulous, as was the chicken supreme. I also loved the carafes of wine which are ideal for solo (yet thirsty!) travellers. The service is excellent (although some of the servers do struggle with their English) and the ambience fresh and airy. I was very happy!

we ate here using a travel zoo voucher,£35 for 2 people with a set menu including a carafe of house wine. Very good value for money and very good quality food. Portion sizes were just right. I ordered an extra glass of prosecco which set me back £7.50! But apart from that, the staff were really good and the restaurant was comfortable and good atmosphere. Lovely toilets too! Well worth getting the voucher, I would go again for sure.Enjoy!

We decided to have food here for a family birthday and are not sorry we did. We had plans to go elsewhere in the area so this place was perfect + we got a 3 course menu offer for £17 per person. They will only allow 4 people in the party on this offer though so anymore and you may have think whether you can split, use tastecard or use the restaurant's own offer of 2 course for £22 or 3 for £28 (neither of these are really that bad).If you think 'HIlton' and expect a lavish location you will be disappointed. If you are looking for somewhere nice to try then I certainly recommend it.The food was great, the service was good apart from the end when we seemed to wait ages for dessert.Giving it a 4 due to waiting to order dessert.Have no problem to recommend this place.

Coming back late from Wimbledon, we needed a non-pub food restaurant. Given our location at the Doubletree Westminster, we were severely limited by choices. So, we ended up eating here two nights in a row. Was it great? No. Was it acceptable? Yes! The first night two of our party only had salads. Not so good. However three of us had real meals, and they were quite good (chicken, beef, hamburger). The next night, no salads, but chicken. Quite good. Given the late hour we came...shortly before kitchen close at 10:00pm...we were pleasantly surprised by the level of service and the quality of the food. This is the same place we ate breakfast, and the breakfast us quite good. I have eaten in a lot of hotels around the world, and this place us more than adequate.

We were staying in London for the weekend. We had a show to go to on the Saturday and was lucky to get a voucher via Travelzoo for the Sunday which was for 3courses and wine in the City Cafe in the Double Tree Hilton Westminster. We had a lovely welcome and had a choice of table. We picked a window seat. The 3 courses we had were well presented and very tasty. The wine that came with meal was also good. The service we had was brilliant. The staff were a credit to the hotel. I would definitely recommend the assortment of sorbet for dessert it was delicious. For what we paid it was great value for money.

Came back to the restaurant for the Second time, on this occasion to celebrate my friend's birthday as he came down to London for the weekend. I do remember the staff been friendly and professional, and the quality of the food made a big impression on my first visit.This time as expected, it continuos to have a hight standards, great service and attention to detail, The manager who unfortunately I can't remember his name at the moment, were very welcoming and looking after us very professionally. I do strongly recommend this Restaurant. The scallops with Chorizo, the Filet of Steak and for dessert the Cookie Sunday are my favourites.

We were welcomed at the door by a stuck up lady (dark haired and wearing glasses), which I believe was the supervisor. Awesome. Fortunately she did not mind about us for the rest of the evening.We were instead very looked after by a lovely waitress - I wish I remembered her name! (East European, with freckles) who then took care of us throughout the whole dinner. Impeccable service! Well done!Food was excellent. We had Risotto with mushroom (gnummy!) and Salmon. OMG that salmon literally melted on my tongue! Will defo be back again :)

On our final night in London, we were exhausted so decided to have dinner in the City Cafe. What a great decision that turned out to be! I was so impressed with the food! I wanted to try the asparagus soup, but told our server that I was allergic to onions. She checked with the chef and told me both soups offered had onions, but that the grilled asparagus starter was a safe bet so I ordered it. It was fantastic! We also both ordered the fillet of beef which was incredibly tender and perfectly cooked, along with baby potatoes. I highly recommend the City Cafe restaurant!

The occasion was a birth day so we started with superb cocktails which are quite pricey but worth it . We went with an Amazon local meal voucher so value was phenomenal for 3 courses and half bottle of wine. The set menu is good value with varied choices. It is well cooked food and ample portions. Staff are very pleasant. I had been there a few years ago for office Xmas lunch which was also very good. We will go back.

I was exhausted and since we were staying at this hotel we just went downstairs for dinner. I had the shrimp linguine my son had the steak. I will start by saying that the shrimp linguine was some of the best I've ever had my son was eating out of my bowl. The restaurant is really pretty in the inside the only downside to the whole experience is that the service was awful and it wasn't even busy. This could be a great restaurant if the service was better.

We were lucky enough to be staying here and the food was brilliant as well as the service nothing was a problem.

Such a shame...Set in the heart of residential Westminster the City Café ought to be the place to go. Sadly, it’s not!The food is uninspiringly average. First courses came out best with appreciation for those who chose them, of the scallops and the Caesar salad. Main courses, though nicely presented, were not great. It’s the restaurant policy to cook beef burgers right through. Why? There should be enough confidence in their suppliers and their cooks to allow diners to have a rare beef burger if they wish. The result was chewy and tasteless, depending on spicy sauces to liven it up.But the mushroom risotto, despite an acceptable sauce was a leathery DISASTER!! Truly inedible. It should have been sent back but when you’re a guest and part of a group, you just have to accept it because of the potential embarrassment.There was a friendly welcome and helpful service, though rather too slow, and initially there was no-one on duty to say good-bye or to give us our coats.

A group of us went with vouchers - £34 for two people for three courses and half a carafe of wine. The set menu had limited options, but enough to cover most tastes. The Jerusalem artichoke soup for starter was the highlight, but things went downhill from there. My steak was full of gristle, although the meat around the bits I couldn't swallow was tasty enough and the fries were perfect. Sticky toffee pudding was stodgy, and covered in sickly sweet sauce that was underwhelming. The best bit was the unexpected accompaniment of a delicious scoop of ice cream in a pastry case. Sadly the service was like the dessert - stodgy and underwhelming. In particular it was very slow, which given the restaurant wasn't full, was annoying. We had to wait far too long to have our orders taken, then to get the wine, then each course, and finally coffees. Lacklustre best describes it.

We enjoyed our evening meal here. From the varied menu we chose the speciality fish dish which was interesting and well presented. Our bowl of fresh fruit was almost overwhelming. The ambience is modern, service attentive, prices very reasonable for London. What not to like!

This is the restaurant of the Doubletree Hotel, the downmarket brand of Hilton. The food here used to be terrible. Now it's actually pretty average. Totally industrial stuff of no interest whatsoever, but nothing that will kill you. The service however is rather friendly, even if it is a bit inexperienced. What lets this place down is the complete lack of management. Whatever remark you may make over days, weeks or even months of coming here, nothing will ever change, because no one seems to be in charge.

Seriously, there is no greater example of ridiculous rules and bad service than what my partner and I experienced at breakfast this morning. My partner made a simple request to have a tomato omelette at breakfast only to be told that this was not possible as it was the weekend and omelettes are only available as a daily special Monday through Friday. Utterly dumbstruck by what we had just learned I asked for the Restaurant Manager only to be told again that was not possible when she arrived! Getting nowhere fast I then asked to speak to the Hotel Manager and then got the classic line, "The Manager is not working today", meaning, 'I really can't be bothered to help you'. "So get me the person who's endorsing these stupid rules and running this pantomime!", I added irately. The 'Duty' Manager promptly arrived. After speaking with the kitchen he came back sticking his thumbs up in the air hailing an omelette victory! "It will be with you shortly", he said. A few moments later, we then saw an omelette being served to another gentlemen. I wonder if he had such a battle in ordering his. Aside from the fact that we are well travelled people and loyal Hilton customers, we have never been denied an omelette in any type of hotel. This is a basic staple of any breakfast menu and to be denied such a simple request in a four star hotel is utterly unacceptable. This is once again a typical example of the huge shortfalls in basic levels of service within the UK catering and hospitality industry. SORT IT OUT and don't make it such an effort for us to get the basic levels of service! After all - you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs!

The booking during a weekend stay was simple and easy, but you need to do it in advance to ensure you that no other event is taking place or occurring on your chosen evening.The Restaurant is at the back of the hotel (ground floor) and looks out into a walk way between streets and has the same modern ambiance as the hotel.All the Staff provided a knowledgeable, friendly and efficient service from beginning to end. The wine menu was good as was the ‘al carte’ menu – not overly large, but definitely had something on it for all over the 3 courses ordered. This did take time as one would expect when items are being cooked to order but did not cause any concerns over the length of time taken.I can recommend this restaurant to all who are staying in the hotel if you don’t wish to go elsewhere, however there are some really good places close-by and they don’t have a discretionary 12.5% service charge.

the title says it all. The are perhaps a half dozen entrees at dinner but all are excellently prepared and service is impeccable. The breakfast buffet on the weekend is typical English style and the restaurant was very crowed BUT people were served quickly and the wait was minimal given the number of people. This hotel and especially the food service part is very, very, well run and should be used as a model for other Hilton properties.

We stayed at the DoubleTree Westminster and after a long exhausting day in London we decided to eat dinner at the City Cafe which is located in the hotel itself.The food was really nice and well cooked.The service was great.

We booked an early evening meal in the restaurant (6.30pm) while none resident at the hotel. It was very quiet at that time as you would expect. However even though the starters arrived in reasonable time it was 40 mins between that and the main course. When it eventually arrived the meal was distinctly average and not 5 star standard at all. The staff were self absorbed and not attentive at all. We did complain that we were waiting a long time for our meal (per theatre) but there was no reason given we were just told 'its coming'. Overall not impressed at all.

The restaurant was fairly quiet but all the customers were being squeezed into one small part of the restaurant.We both ordered steaks which were well cooked but very expensive for the quality of the meal. The service was a little off. For some reason we were not served any bread and the wine that arrived was not the wine that I had ordered.Overall OK but pricey and let down by the inconsistent service. There are better choices in the area.

Recommend the salmon and the lamb. Avoid the pumpkin risotto -- it was watery and had pickled(!) pumpkin (the English should never try to replicate an Italian speciality). Excellent breakfast buffet.

Can't fault breakfast. Excellent staff, good clearing of tables and wide choice of buffet food. Dinner is beautifully cooked and served but menu just lacks imagination. Big plus for staff though - best I have come across in UK

Nice food but it's a tab expensive but that's hotel for you. Would dine there again if I can't be bothered to walk some where else for a meal

I regularly stay in this hotel because of the excellent rooms and faultless service - reviewed separately. The breakfast here is an example to other restaurants as how to do it. From entrance to exit your are made to feel welcome with attentive staff who have the balance of interaction off to perfection. The food doesn't disappoint either. One may think that it is hard to cock up an English breakfast but many hotels do. This restaurant does breakfast brilliantly. There is a fine selection of fruits, cold meats, pastries and cheeses and then there is the hot breakfast selection which is lays well stocked, hot and good quality. Scrambled eggs always spot on and no crusty fried eggs here. For a change try the porridge which is served with brown sugar, cream, honey and raisins, it's a delight. (Park Plazas take note)I have had just one evening meal here as there is better value elsewhere when on a limited expense account. I had the salmon and it was, as I have come to expect at this hotel, perfectly cooked and very well presented. The service, as always, is the best I have encountered in all the London hotels I have stayed at. I look forward to staying and eating here.

Good food and not overpriced. Wide range with good service. If you are in the area worth a visit. Try the soups excellent

Each time I stay at this hotel the service and food have always been excellent! Highly recommended! Rooms always clean, just what the traveller needs plus a super iMac communications centre/TV with superb JBL speaker system. Ideal location as your centre for exploring London.

Breakfast is full buffet style. We had a large table by the window for six people. Service was very good. There is a wide range of food and drink to choose from. We would eat here again.

Staying in hotel on dinner bed and breakfast deal and had the terrific bonus of the special menu for New Year's Eve! Exceptional food with really outstanding service from the team there - what a lovely way to finish the year, thank you kamal chetitah and maciej pilachowski .... Our family will DEFINATELY be back !

Breakfast was included with our room rate. Since we do not need a huge breakfast I would not pay the price for the buffet but it is good food and lots of variety. The staffers are always helpful and friendly.

The breakfast buffet offered a variety of hot and cold choices. The food is good and average quality when compared with other hotels. The location is excellent especially if you're staying in the Doubletree Westminster. The customer service is excellent.

Service is excellent and food is delicious! It is a buffet and there is MUCH to choose from. The mushrooms were awesome! Scrambled eggs are much better than they look! Don't forget yogurt which is in fridge under cereal!
