We had 2 fantastic breakfasts here as hotel guests. The buffet was very rich for Hiltons in the UK and service was lovely, too.

Breakfast is fantastic really sets you up for the day, nice staff too Dinner was also spot on we were fed up with the Christmas stuff so went for salads and burgers, the room was very relaxed, and felt so nice, after dinner we relaxed in the lounge area and played board games, then up to bed, there are disadvantages to nice places like this, you do not want to go out, just stay in the hotel

Whilst in Leeds I was pleasantly surprised at this nice little bar hidden away on the 3rd floor of the Hilton in Neville Street. From ground level go up to level 3 and the bar is located on your left . Whilst it’s a great restaurant , at night you get a nice pleasant group of people getting together for drinks away from the main hub of the city .I would really recommend a visit .

We arrived in the hotel at dinnertime. As the weather was awful, along with not being familiar with Leeds, we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant. What a mistake! We waited a ridiculously long time for essentially a meal that could've been whipped up in a local cafe for a fraction of the cost. I had the steak pie with chips which was ok: the pie was a bit scorched on one side, but otherwise fine. It came with a tablespoon of mushy peas, watery tasteless gravy and a few chips. Hubbie had the burger, which turned out to be made of cheap meat and contained lots of bits of bone and gristle and was burned on one side. We both had a glass of wine and hubbie had a dessert. We paid £57.00 for that, which was shocking for the quality and quantity of the food. However, the staff were lovely.

we visited on a Saturday night. a maximum of 6 tables had diners only. the decor is lovely but that's the only positives. service was slow. apparently they had a large group in so that was the excuse given. all staff presumed we were staying there so they continually asked for our room number. my husbands beer was completely flat and we only ordered 3 sharing platters which took ages to bring and were warm but not hot. deserts were poor and management weren't too bothered with our concerns. we have stayed and eaten at other hiltons and unfortunately this cannot compare and is the worst!

Stayed at the Hilton 2 nights and dined in the restraint both nights (fri/sat). The food was lovely, my partner and I had three courses and it was all cooked beautifully and very tasty. Drinks are a little pricey but that is to be expected in a city centre hotel. All the staff are wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. I am already planning our next visit to the hotel and of course the City 3 Restaurant as it really did make our stay.

Food wasn't bad per se - just uninspired and very much reminded me of what used to pass for a decent restaurant back in the 1970s. Choices of Steak, Pork, Salmon etc - no, don't expect me to add the name of the dish to those - those ARE the names of the dishes. Had the soup (not bad) followed by the Salmon (equally, not bad). Also had a glass of the house red wine - which was quite a nice Merlot but very overpriced at (if I recall correctly) £8.50 a glass. Meal came to around £30 - fairly typical for a hotel but these days most decent hotel restaurants care a little more about their food. The only reason I ate here - and I suspect the only reason anyone would choose to eat here - was that I was staying at the hotel. Breakfast here is equally uninspiring - and not up to the usual Hilton standard. Hotel and restaurant kind of match each other actually - maybe I really have gone back in time and it's the 1970's again. If anyone out there is tempted, please do yourself a favour and walk a little further - there are plenty of decent eateries around.

I may have had a mid-life crisis while dining at the City 3 restaurant. As you're sitting at this hotel bar/restaurant with lonely business travelers mournfully staring at the TV while clutching their never-ending pints of beer, you can't help thinking, "I could have tried harder with my life".When I arrive, the waitress that is meant to show me to my table is having her back scratched by another waitress so I wait for someone else to show me to my table. I am only slightly amused by the scene.I order a glass of wine that costs £10 and feel a slight rise of bile in my system. 10 quid for a fairly standard glass of wine? I look at the table, not even a table cloth, candle or any decoration. The whole arrangement, just seems... sad. The waitress brings across some bread and butter. At least that is some semblance of a proper restaurant, I think. So then on to the menu. It's a hotel and a four-star hotel at that, so clearly they should have a team of experienced chefs who know a thing or two about food. The menu is a fairly standard middle-of-the-road affair with steaks and mostly other cuts of meat on offer. I spot a fillet steak, order and get a side of vegetables with it as well. The waitress assures me that the meal comes with fries. The prices are quite hefty and clearly marked up because the restaurant is in a hotel. But knowing that, I hope that for that money, the meal still blows my socks off.My socks well and truly stay on.About 25 minutes after ordering (which seems like a long time to wait in hotel-bar purgatory), the meal arrives. I need to remind the waitress to bring me a steak knife. The fillet steak is generous however red juices immediately pour out of it. A sign of not letting it rest enough. It doesn't matter, I persist with the meal. On the side of the plate there is a grilled tomato and mushroom which is fine. Though placed in the middle is a sad and slightly wilted pile of rocket which doesn't know what it's doing there (it probably was having a mid-life, hotel-restaurant crisis too). On the other side there are about 6 chunky chips stacked up in some sort of chip jenga. They are tasty but not "fries" as described by my waitress. There are also not enough of them. The gravy I ordered was completely offensive. Described as red wine jus on the menu and sold at extra expense, it looks like something that came out of a gravy granules tin, left to sit for a while, put in the fridge, then heated up again. Anyway, I don't care, I'm hungry and I want to disguise the blood that's pouring out of the steak so I lather the lumpy and gluggy gravy on. The last and final disappointment of the dinner are the mixed vegetables - they taste like something that has come out of the freezer and had a flash in a pan. It reminds me of hospital food! The service was friendly but not exactly attentive and the staff didn't really ask me if I wanted anything else. I had to request to see the dessert menu and no one asked me if I wanted tea and coffee (I probably would have had some if they had!). Anyway, I was glad to leave the restaurant in the end. And it kinda makes me sad to write that about any place. I really hope that someone from the Hilton reads this and that they improve the restaurant experience there...Sure hotel restaurants are often not the most salubrious places to be but it may bring a little more joy to people's lives if more of an effort was made to "delight" the weary traveler with service and excellence in quality.

We had dinner here on Saturday night and can honestly say we won't be returning. Tv's showing sky sports took over the restaurant so the background music never stood a chance. By 8pm they'd run out of mozzarella for the salad starter. The waitress then dropped the used starter cutlery on us. We both ordered rump steaks pink, and had to beg the waiting staff for steak knives. on cutting into them we discovered both steaks had been cremated and duly sent them back. 15 minutes later 2 pink steaks arrived but by then the damage was done, and the staff were more interested in setting tables than serving remaining dinner guests. Never again
