Visited without a booking they were able to squeeze us in. Very busy for a Monday night, which was a good sign! Outstanding food, really tasty and well presented, and attentive waiting staff. Would recommend booking as they were turning people away!

The food was disappointing; it didn't have an authentic taste and fell below our expectations.

Been a customer for many years. Standards inevitably go up and down, but the food on my last visit was best ever, lots of fresh flavours, really tasty. Bit of a shame the prices have gone up so significantly, today, but they are probably only catching up with the rest of the sector, post-covid.

Out of this world best Indian restaurant in the area...

Disappointed with the level of service last night. We ordered a takeaway and didn’t receive any nan bread with the order. We noticed before we drove off. Went back into the restaurant and several minutes later the staff member brought our take away bag back with the nan in. When we got home 15 mins later, we realised they’d taken the rice out. So we got the nan but now didn’t have the rice. Upon calling the restaurant and after a discussion with a team member, we were told we’d get a refund. A staff member would bring it over to our home. We received £2.75 for the missing rice. No consideration for the inconvenience or the lack of care taken when assembling our order (twice). Have to wonder why after getting the order wrong first time, they wouldn’t have made sure everything was in order the second time around.

I always have same ‘ Mumbai Style Duck” have done for over 7yrs Although today!!! Not same at all, new management ! and totally different presentation, taste and mushy and greasy ! Just different and so disappointing!!!! When asked he said same chef! But cannot be as yucky! Such a shame! Left an unpleasant taste in my mouth where as it use to be so yummy i had to eat it all and left with a smile and could not wait to go back! Sorry but never going back! No more super Indian to go to locally 😒 and I left the dish just ate the most of the meat and left the mush behind! Very sad ! 😭😭😭

Very sad to say, the tandori chicken tikka has never seen the inside of a clay oven, mass produced and pre-cooked in factories across the country. Sadly, I've seen more and more of this lately.a downward trend in quality 😢. Rice and side dishes time, and attention is taken, quick and easy to turn out.

The lamb biryani was delicious. Will be back for sure!

A good solid restaurant for a team meal out.... Initially a letdown because I'm calling there was no menu available in PDF. Food was all good. Tandoori mixed grill a little dry, only let down by high prices of the beer..... Service was brisk and the peshawari nan, excellent.

My friend and I went to this restaurant during our visit to Shaftesbury. We dont know the area cuz we live far way from there but this has been the worst experienc fur us. After a beatiful day we had a horrible meal Our server was a younger indian fellow, who has no idea how to serve or speak. After we had been seated with our menus for about 2 minutes, he came to our table and said “What do you want” with a rude way We told him we needed more time, so he came back in another 2 minutes. We knew what we wanted by then, so we just ordered. King prawns, lamb biryani, chicken tikka biryani and some more extras Our food came cold like was leftover from days before and heated in microwave like on top warm not hot. He did not come back to the table to usk or see how we were doing. Not once. We called him and told for the situation with food he did not care at all and said if dont like it take something else with angry... Not even a sorry or discount. Beside that ask for tip without a service when we asked for the bill. I dont know how people go to this place. Dirty inside, leftover food serve the other day, rude service and managment... I dont recomend this place. Discusting 🤮🤮

The king Prawn puri was nice. However the Chicken Tikka Masala was disappointing. The sauce was very watery, with no real substance to it. I expected much better for the high pricing.

I ordered a take away last night from here and I have to say the service was unbelievable! It was my soon to be mother in laws birthday and the gentleman behind the counter gave us a free bottle of Prosecco and cobra as a birthday treat. Safe to say she was a happy birthday girl. The down side. The only complaint I must add is i ordered a chicken tikka (main) and sadly I got a starter size portion. I’m not necessarily fussed as they was generous enough with the alcohol. But it was just unfortunate we had to share the chicken tikka with a few of us left without any. Other than that the food was delicious and not a grain of rice spared. Would totally recommend if you want an affordable meal with amazing customer service.

These reviews warned of small portions..untrue, totally ok portions, both of us left having had delicious meals. Service was friendly and good, parking right outside. Will be back

Very friendly and welcoming staff, they managed to squeeze us in on a busy night and we're on a quick turn around but we didn't feel hurried. The food was superb. We will be returning for sure.

Food sadly was disappointing. Starter very dry. Main not flavoursome. Poppadoms were good as was the limoncello desert. Expresso good too!

We had takeaway lamb bhuna and chicken korma. The bhuna was nothing special however the korma made my partner very ill with food poisoning for the next couple of days. The onion bhajis were also soft and had little flavour. The place seemed very nice inside but the quality was sub standard and not worth the price even if it didn't cause food poisoning.

Visited on a quiet November evening quite early and the staff were accommodating and pleasant. The food was excellent. I am a pescetarian and had a delightful vegetable curry.

On holiday in the area and needed a late night dinner. This didn’t disappoint. Food was exceptional, service was perfect and considering the quality and effort the price was very reasonable.

Just had my takeaway delivery most of it wasn't what I ordered as it took over a hour to get here I'm not going to wait for the food I ordered to be redelivered I feel sorry for the next delivery I won't be ordering anything again

Food portions are small, we ordered samosas and were only given 2 small ones. Not many “chips” either these were also french fries not chips. However, food was great and would recommend if looking for curry in Shaftesbury!

Great authentic traditional Indian food with friendly service. Fairly priced and doesn't take ages to come out once ordered. Just difficult to find parking and slightly on the small/cramped inside for room.

We were staying In Shaftesbury for three days. Various people in the hotel commented how good Chutneys was ,so we decided to try ourselves. We weren’t disappointed. It was fabulous. If we are in the area again we will certainly return,and recommend it to all our friends.

I hadn't been to this fabulous Indian fine cuisine restaurant for some time as I had moved away. Coming back I took my partner and found I'd missed out on such a wonderful culinary experience. Service great, food exquisite and excellent caring service. My partner , she was blown away by the extensive menu and quality of the dishes and service. Be back again soon. Well done Chutneys!!!.

This was a midweek dinner out with an old friend. We ate and chatted, all was good. I'd go back and defo recommend Chutney's if your looking for a curry meal in Shaftsbury.

Ate here last night absolutely superb, just a minor point years ago Indian, in particular, restaurants always seemed incredibly attentive in taking your coats ect which doesn't seem to happen now which is a shame.

Chutneys use to be THE place to get your curry fix. Just had the worst Indian takeaway for a long time. It was luke warm (after I waited almost an hour, I'm sure they forgot.) The curry was bland and the chicken in the dish very dry...oh and what I got in the bag was wrong. Very disappointed. I'll be going somewhere else from now on

Very nice restaurant and they kindly fitted us in at very short notice. Lovely food although did have to remind them that we were short of a dish. Very hot plate handed to my partner and he was lucky he didn’t burn himself fortunately. Would recommend although I must admit it did seem somewhat chaotic and we had to go to the bar to pay our bill as we had to be somewhere else. Would go back though.

Sometimes they could do with extra staff, food is good, but sat with an empty glass for 25 minutes the other day, trying to catch someone’s attention. Gave up and went to the pub!

I am obsessed with this place. I have returned 6+ times in the last 2 months. I love the flavours, I love the presentation and I love the prices! I've dragged my family, my friends and my work colleagues here. This place doesn't disappoint! Flavours are very authentic, they taste rustic and its cooked to perfection. Naans are cooked authentically and the chicken is delicious. Rice is cooked to perfection. If you love Indian food - this is a must to visit!

Visited with a large group of teenage rugby players and their parents. The staff were great and very patient with the teenagers. Lovely food, beautifully presented and good value.

As we aren't from this area, it was our first a likely only time eating at Chutney's. The service was great, very friendly and as you would expect, polite. The tables are nicely spaced out. Not sure if they had been changed for Covid reasons or it they were always like this. The food was lovely and the portions were perfect. As it was just the 2 of us, it's easy to over order when you want a bit of everything. We managed to get what we wanted and only take home a little that was left over. So in 2021 we had an Indian while we were away. It was very good but came to over £70 This time round and obviously a different restaurant, we had about the same amount of dishes but with the edition of a sweet and it wasn't even £55 Lots of takeaways were being collected and sent out for delivery while we dined. And the restaurant had plenty of diners. Well recommend

A perfect curry every time. Have tried a couple of other local places, but the Korma simply doesn't compare. Always ready for the collection time and dining an even nicer experience.

Few years ago we always ate in Chutneys restaurant and enjoyed but tonight we were back in Shaftesbury at my son's and had a takeaway Spent £53 for 3 of us and didn't enjoy the pilau rice was burnt the onion bahjis where as if been warmed up and chewy the spinache in 1of dishes was burnt and lastly the potatoes in a dish were so hard unable to eat so went in bin.So disappointed
