Warmed it up in microwave no probs really looking forward to it but the Food was tasteless and bland and the Paratha was doughy and not flaky at all. Didn’t eat it so Waste of money at £36 unfortunately will not be ordering from there again.

Ordered a takeaway last night after seeing good reviews, the onion bhaji was greasy and chicken chat had no flavour, bread was also greasy. Curry and rice were like warm when they arrived and tasted awful. I’ve spent half the night sat on the toilet, the other half with bad stomach cramps. Will not be ordering from there again. Poor. Went to new place on Warrington Rd. Very clean and bright. Staff were initially surly. Hardly acknowledged our arrival. Had poppadom, pickles etc and starters. Starters were luke warm and had been microwaved. 2 curries and a chilli and garlic naan. Naan wasn't hot. Asked staff member to reheat it. The reply was 'Hes only just taken it out from the oven but I will microwave it for you'. The naan was more like a pizza. Curries were mediocre. There are far better places locally than Chutney Blue. Won't be eating there again.

Had to drive back; charged me for 2 missing meals; did not care he"d got it wrong, did not give me the 10% discount for pick ups apparently my fault for not realising £35 was too cheap!!! Absolutely loved this little traditional nugget tucked away in Widnes Old Town. Really cheap especially for the early doors menu £10/£11 quid for 5 courses and the drinks prices where pub prices unlike some that massively inflate the cost to make money. Bargain compared to Desi and Barton Rouge. The restaurant was heaving which says a lot yet everyone got their meals on time. Jab the waiter took care of my friends food allergies and adjusted her meals at no extra cost. We will definitely be back.

I am a lover of spicy curries and I heard from a friend the try CB. I did and had the fire eater curry. I called the restaurant and asked for it to be comparable to a phal, as there was a vindaloo on the menu I assumed that the fire eater would be hotter. The curry was nice and quite tasty, wasn’t too much chicken in but the rice portion was very small and the naan was slightly over cooked. That said, I had a main, rice and a naan bread for less than £10. I would probably use this restaurant again. I noticed you could sit in and eat here, wether I’d want to is another matter.

Very nice Indian food, we ordered one of the set menus and the service was incredibly quick. Typical Indian cuisine, Indian hospitality (i.e. can't do enough for you to make sure you're comfortable and content), and they even threw in some free chutneys with poppadoms for us to munch on because we ate what they fetched on the menu. The service was really friendly, each staff member had a smile and a kind word. Wasn't so busy, but I think we went when it was first opened, so perhaps now it's a little busier. Either way, recommended if you're after a cheap but nice place to catch up with friends!

The Rogan josh ordered was lacking in actual meat and was very bland.. which is unusual for a curry. The coke served was flat, and even when I mentioned this, the waiter didn't offer a replacement. The next day all three of us felt a little dodgy, I cannot say it was the curry but it was the only thing all three of us had eaten. We decided to visit Chutney Blue because of the excellent reviews. First of all the restaurant really needs updating and redecorating it's very basic and looks a bit run down. The food is average and I would place it bottom of the three restaurants. The price is very reasonable and the staff seem really polite and helpful. A week earlier I had called in to confirm our booking and noticed that no further bookings had been made following ours made a few weeks earlier. Any doubts that the people of Widnes had written the place off were swiftly removed as, on our arrival at 6, we found a handful of couples already tucking in. Having obviously remembered my previous visit the maitre d showed those of us there early straight to our table at the back of the restaurant, an offer of drinks was made and 'not for now' was dignifiably accepted allowing us eager beavers to unwind until the other members of our party arrived. All but 1 of us plumped for the 'too good to turn down' £10 four course deal (poppadoms, starter, main + rice/nan + dessert/coffee).Once our table was full one of our appointed (we had at least another 2 during the night) waiters patiently took our drinks orders (I say this as this bit seemed to take longer than ordering the food!) before flying through our 2 course food options. Not much sooner had our drinks come were the pre courses poppadoms brought out with another tick in the box for the huge trays piled everest high with onions and sauces. (only place I've been were I haven't had to ask for more to be brought out) At this point our 1 colleague who had 'ordered English' was seen to look longingly at the fayre he had opted out of.I arrived back from a relief break to find some lovely onion bhaji parcels, (a dish of choice with most of our party) so light, crispy and flavoursome in the modern day version (I cringe at the supermarket standard curry powder laced versions some lesser establishments lazily throw up) and having shared a bit of, my more than generous colleague opposite's, lamb tikka cutlets was impressed with the all round non/meat options on display so far. The pace of food delivery now slowed ahead of the main course, opportuning the further order of drinks and much to the dismay of our colleague (and the chuckles of the rest of us) of the sight of his licking his lips frustratingly, for his chicken and chips, having seen the fragrant starters come and go.The aforementioned English option looked pretty in the form of a baby chicken and some perfect looking chips (no doubt some revenge for him as some had decided against getting chips with their curry's!) one of quite a few English options available. (I remember going back years when steak was the only 'english' option). The full complement of 3 staff eased the seemingly effortless transition of the 9 curries from kitchen to serving unit to table. Jalfrezi was the most popular curry choice with most opting for both plain nans and pilau rice accompaniments. The Jalfrezi had a beautiful ginger sweetness with a sharp but not too lethal kick of chilli (as a Jal should be). Was fortunate also to benefit from a further offerance, from one the table, of the critically acclaimed Akbari Cham Cham. The tandoori chicken pieces, in this wonderfully mild but 'with plenty going on' dish, simply melted on my tongue and is now my 2nd favourite dish! (have now found my alternative solution to finding a dish between the milder dopiaza and stronger Jal). The portions in general were more than generous and such was the quality that the army of waiters wore appreciative smiles on battleworn faces as they carried away empty plates from the stretched out stuffed diners before them.Final course time and only yours truly had any space (and that was just for a coffee, that proved a nice warm creamy cleanser of the pallet). In light of the excellent quantity and quality of food sampled and impeccable service (a takeaway was ordered, boxed up quickly, for a family member and to their external credit was even kept warm by the determined staff until the minute we left). As a heartfelt thank you we all left a very generous tip to which we were thanked in unison from all who had looked after us so well.In conclusion, to add further emphasis to the value of the meal deal on offer here, I have ate in some other curry houses in the town, who offer the same 4 course deal, and they choose to limit the range of choices of main and starters available, reduce the main portion size stating 'it is on offer so what do you expect' and charge for dessert if you want that instead of or in addition to a coffee. Chutney make almost the whole of the course options on their menu available for selection in the deal which says a lot for the money being tried to be made by some other houses charging expensive individual prices for claimed to be non-standard courses. Finally, I here you say!, and the only snag of the night, just an observation, and by no means a complaint is that (in that this is nowhere close to downgrading a deserved 5 star display) the quality of the pilau rice was not good enough (it almost vapourised when it met curry!) and poorer quality than what you would get in a supermarket. Anothers plain rice was of much better long tildaesque grain, so just a small quality upgrade fix is needed here. All in all hearty thanks to making it a great night Chutney, we will be back!

Flicked through trip advisor yesterday and came upon this place. From the outside it doesn't appeal but when we went up it had quite a few customers in so thought we'd give it a shot. Customer service was good. Food was tip top and it was decent value. Would definitely recommend and will no doubt visit again.

We have used Chutney blue for almost 12 months for our takeaways without any issues. Decided to have a sit down meal Sunday evening with our 10 year old. Food was amazing as always and nothing was too much trouble, even left with a takeaway for our eldest son.Decor is dated and not the most attractive but the food makes this unimportant.Would definitely recommend.

A couple of friends and I decided to grab some food on a Saturday evening before a party, and all decided on an Indian, sit down meal, rather than a takeaway or any other cuisine. When we arrived, we saw the outside of the building and wondered whether it was actually a take-away, but we went in anyway and it's completely different inside, really authentic, the staff are smartly presented, friendly and the restaurant looks like you would expect an Indian restaurant to look.We had to wait for ages for our friend to arrive, and the waiting staff were friendly, asked if we would like poppadoms, drinks etc until our friend arrived. When we finally started to order, two of the party knew what they wanted, but I didn't, there was lots of choice on the menu, so I asked the waiter for a recommendation, with the only criteria being that I'd like it to be red, and hotter than medium. I think the curry was called a Jaan Special, anyway, it was really nice, and went perfectly with the peshwari naan we ordered too. When the bill arrived, we were shocked at how cheap it was, only £50 for the three of us, and we'd had a lot of drinks, all had starters and all had mains with sides. It turns out that they gave us the wrong bill, never mind, it was still only £60! £20 each for what we'd consumed was excellent, we will certainly come back. Thanks to all of the staff for being accommodating.Reasons for 4 rather than 5: Outside presentation, it'll stop people walking in without a recommendation; being handed the wrong bill (we'd already left and were asked to come back in to pay the rest); the toilets weren't very nice.

Quite simply, the Chutney Blue is one of the very best Indian takeaway meals we have ever had, very high quality food with really good delivery time, and the prices are very good. We highly recommend the Chutney Blue.

Always have a lovely meal in here. The food is very good, on time and hot. The decor is very outdated and quite tacky but well worth a visit for the food.

The most underrated Indian restaurant in Cheshire! Food absolutely first class and could give any of the more swanky establishments a run for their money! The location might not be the best and the decor might be a little tired, but the food and service more than makes up for it. It's our go to Indian every time and highly recommended!

Absolutely rubbish £35 for two curries which were awful, the meat was probably dinosaur meat as it was that tough. Tasteless poppadoms were stale, Naan bread was stale, hygiene in the takeaway using dirty clothes to wipe down surfaces. Please stay away from this place.
