Awful owner, aggressive, rude, argumentative and horrible. Blaring music and owner shouting and demanding people to move tables mid food. Shocking experience and she should definitely not have a customer facing job. Not what is expected of a place in Milngavie. Coffee was overpriced Rolls stale and food awful Avoid at all costs

We've driven past many times and never stopped due to parking, but decided to try it today as we realised we could park outside scout hut next door. We chose to sit outside but moved in when it started raining. Im guessing we were given our food in takeaway containers as we were outside? We found the inside to be quite dark and poorly lit, possibly due to two full length windows blocked by outward facing advertising TVs , I'd recommend just having posters outside and let the light in. The staff were pleasant, the lady working in the kitchen was particularly warm and friendly. The cafe is very clean but the passageway where the orders are taken is very narrow and impractical, this could be managed with a one way system utilising one of the other two doors currently blocked by the TVs and high chairs...we sometimes use a wheelchair and would avoid if wanting to eat indoors. I found my salad lovely, it was great being able to taylor all of the ingredients and everything was super fresh, the only option misding was plain chicken without a sauce or mayo coating which would have been my preference. My husband wasn't very impressed by his eight ingredient breakfast...it was nicely presented albeit in a cardboard container, but he thought the sausages were awful. We also had a builders tea and flat white coffee and the total was around £24 which was quite a lot. Husband then ordered a 2 scoop cone at £4.50 and received it in a bowl instead. Employing young staff in customer facing roles is always risky...the girls were nice but we always support businesses who demonstrate good old fashioned customer service, not just service, and that usually comes from more mature staff as demonstrated by the lady in the kitchen. We may be back especially for the salad (and I'd love to try your soup) but it will take a bit more work to steer us back from our usual haunts in Finnieston. I'd also recommend the team to reply to all of their poor reviews, had I seen them first I probably wouldn't have visited...you're missing an opportunity to say where you've made changes or improvements and counter these negative comments. Just my opinion.

3 breakfasts in 3 days. Enjoyed all 3. Staff pleasant. Food good. My only gripe if I had to have one was cold plates. Oh and maple syrup on the side as stated rather than on the French toast. But other than that. 2 very happy customers. 3 days in a row. Thank you 😊 would definitely call again if we are in the area.

Went here today with a friend and what a pointless, wasted trip. Stood in front of the glass cabinet that contained the sandwich toppings for 15 minutes waiting to get served while my friend sat outside with our 3 dogs. 4 members of staff including 2 middle aged women with short blonde hair (one of them is Christine) and 2 young girls who looked like they were 15/16. The place was empty with only 2 tables in use so not busy. The atmosphere was very tense and stressful behind the counter and I really felt for the two young girls. The way Christine spoke to those 2 girls was shocking. Rude, patronising, demanding, and speaking to them like they were dirt. I would be furious if my daughter was being treated like that. I asked one of the young girls if I could order (after almost 10mins of being ignored by everyone) she said yes and asked what I would like. I started my order and Christine interrupted us and began ordering the girl around, completely ignoring the fact she was taking my order. At no point was I acknowledged by anyone other than this young girl despite me trying to get someone’s attention. I would have appreciated someone just saying hello and that they would be with me in a minute. I waited another 5mins and got skipped in the queue by another customer who was immediately served. Ended up leaving after 15mins and going to Cafe Alba for a delicious takeaway toastie. Cafe Alba was jam-packed as usual with not a spare seat but the staff couldn’t have been more attentive, relaxed and welcoming.

£10.35 for 2 cups of tea in cardboard cups and an empire biscuit to sit outside, I don't think so. The tea tasted awful obviously a cheap tea.

Absolutely disgusted in the running of this cafe. The young staff members working so hard to be treated appallingly by the owner and older staff members, what gives anyone the right to treat young staff like that. I will never be back and will never recommend to anyone. Iv since heard she keeps cameras of them watching every movement, doesn’t pay what she owes them and keeps the tips for herself . What a despicable human

I’m so surprised about the reviews below. We visited yesterday as we’re spending the day at the park. Staff were super friendly, food was good (yes pricey but isn’t everywhere?), staff were letting everyone from the park use the toilet which they really don’t need to do. I’d definitely go back

Had the best breakfast in here with my daughter this morning, my daughter agrees 😋 staff in here were so friendly and welcoming, I even received a free coffee to take away as she had made the wrong drink for someone and didn't want it wasted 😁 we will definitely be back

I and five of my friends visited here today at 10.30am and sat at inside table. No table service and was told to order at the till. What was most frustrating was that they wanted individual payment for every single order rather than paying all together at the end. I now have about eight separate payments on my debit card....crazy! Never again.

This is the only place with a toilet anywhere near a children's play park. I did intend to buy an ice cream, to be polite, but I'm aware that some parents can't. If we need to take our kids to the toilet, that is our top priority. When I was told, very sharply, "Toilets are for customer use only!" I thought that this was both a bit rude and unacceptable. I waited until after I had ordered the ice cream to mention it to a colleague of the one who had made the remark. She said "Yes, that's right." I said "You are the only toilet right next to a play park, so I think you have to accept that children are going to use the toilet." "I do not have to accept that!" the woman insisted. I stated again that she did, then she shouted in my face, "don't you stand there and argue with me about it!" I was expecting a bland "thank you for your feedback" type comment. The ice cream was still not ready at this point. This was awkward because I wanted to turn and leave, so I asked for my money back. She first said "yes", but then said "no, because you paid with your card." This is nonsense. It would have been quite easy for her to give me the money out of the till. Which is probably just as well, as I would have had to get my daughter an ice cream from somewhere. "You're not welcome here!" she insisted as her colleague handed me the ice cream." "Aye, well, you might want to check your trip asvisor this afternoon," I quipped (though at that point I probably wasn't actually going to do it. Then she threatened to phone the police. I knew that threatening to phone the police, however frivolously, in front of a child can cause a lot of stress, and I wanted my daughter to know that I was absolutely not taking this seriously, so I said "Please do! That would be hilarious!" then turned to my daughter an said "Guess what? The police are coming! Yay!" She laughed. So the whole episode entertained my child, if nothing else. By this time I was physically shaking from the confrontation and genuinely afraid I was going to drop the ice cream. She said "Is there something wrong with you?" which I considered to be a particularly cruel piece of bullying. So at that point I lost my temper and shouted "No, there's something wrong with you! Imagine being happy to let children pee themselves! You're the absolute worst." And I stand by that remark. They are the absolute worst. The staff are nasty, petty bullies who don't mind being aggressive in front of children, and won't allow a child free access to their toilet. Strongly advise steering clear.

The whole experience was disappointing. The soup (2 different kinds) lacked flavour, one of the soups had some dried herbs on top and it was such an unpleasant taste. The rolls appeared to be the ‘cheap’ kind and despite offering butter it actually some kind of margarine/spread and pretty unpleasant . Unfortunately the seats are also quite uncomfortable. However, the staff were friendly, the prices seemed reasonable and the general location is great. Such potential if they could just get it right. The menu is a quite large for the size of the place, maybe cut down the options and start getting the basics right.

I’d MAYBE go back for a hot drink and filled roll if I was walking past or visiting the park. Food was average in taste but also average in price (ie I didn’t think it was over priced). Takeaway only when sitting outside so you order and pay at till and wait at door till your name is called and then take it away or to one of the outdoor tables. Dogs welcome but only outside. They have speakers playing music outside, in theory that would be nice but - far too loud. Could hardly hold conversation with person I was with. And the music choice was very questionable, swearing etc. there were children and old folk sitting - totally inappropriate. It did get changed when they realised but by then it had been playing about 30mins or so. Staff alright, but got order wrong and had to keep repeating what I wanted - to both what appear to be senior and junior staff so not an age thing. Mixed feelings about this place. If they get it right it would be an amazing addition to the town.

Looks nice. But the staff are awful. Not very friendly, and I would 200% never recommend going here. Menu choice has zero imagination, coffee is bitter, but not as bitter as the staff.

Oh, this could of been a hit! Sadly, its a miss! Avoid at all costs, over priced food, bland, overly salted fries, the burger was not to my taste, not dog friendly, or child friendly, staff are not suited for such roles. I think they should of kept it as a toilet. I doubt I'll ever be back, even it if was giving the food away. Avoid at all costs.

The owners of this establishment really need to reflect on how they are showing up in front of their customers. I have frequented it a number of times and have witnessed the way they speak to their staff (they think they're being discreet - they're NOT). It is beyond belief. I wouldn't even dare repeat some of the things I've heard them calling their staff (things that if their staff were more informed could sue for defamation). Staff who I should mention are absolutely fantastic. I may have gone back if the food was outstanding - but it's not. Overly-priced, sub-par food and owners that display disgusting behavior - I will not be back and will spread the word that this is not the type of place we want in our village!

I know the issues starting a new business but our experience there was, in our opinion, awful. The place is small and as a result noisy and "tight", the coffee was too big and hard to find a coffee taste. In my opinion staff require training, difficult to get sweetner or sugar the whole experience was not pleasant and very glad to leave. I mentioned the "quality" of the coffee as I left and received no response. Never again.

Visited Christine's on the Green yesterday and had an off menu, bespoke built Ciabatta (and cajun fries)! It was so tasty and flavoursome. I woke up thinking about it this morning - it was that good 😊 The place is immaculate and the staff are lovely and so helpful. After my lunch I enjoyed a caramel latte whilst reading a magazine and listening to the background music. Great atmosphere!

After spotting this little place on the way to the waterfalls we had to stop for something to eat. If you're lucky enough to get a seat outside when it's sunny. You won't be disappointed as the view is awesome. However. Once you do sit down, be aware you will likely have to ask for a menu as we waited for a good twenty minutes before we realised the waiting staff were walking past us. Pleasent though once they realised we hadn't been seen. The food itself was not up to scratch for the prices. My girlfriend got a baked potato with cheese, I got an £8.50 goats cheese salad which was literally a handful of chopped lettuce, two super thin slices of goat cheese, sprinkle of pine nuts and zigzag of balsamic. No where near worth the 8.50. my girlfriend's dish was a hard skinned potato, a teeny bit of cheese, iceberg and some crisps. We were both disappointed. This place is missing a trick. A reduced menu with some locally sourced ingredients focusing on a more homely and better cooked and presented product would be best. Maybe due to the weather they were low on ingredients, but until I see some better food, I'd be reluctant to go back. The place is now called The Glen Cafe and Bistro.
