Choy Hing in Warrington

Visited on a recommendation. Was not disappointed. Food was wonderful and the service second-to-none. Enjoyed the duck, the steak rolls (which were served in a sort of spiced gravy), salt and pepper noodles and Cantanese char sui. Marvelous little place. I would always recommend booking a table but we rolled up on a whim and they made space for us. A very special place.

Have been coming here for many years and still the very best for food, service and I have never seen this restaurant quiet! The atmosphere here is the very best and can't wait to go again!

I have been a regular customer of this amazing restaurant for many years as had my parents. The lunch time menu is outstanding, choice is vast, quality superb, served in a timely manner and cooked to perfection. Last night we went for an early diners meal which didn't disappoint. The meal was as enjoyable as usual, perfectly presented and cooked. Service was excellent with friendly, hardworking, efficient regular staff. All meals are superb value for money. It is advisable to make a reservation as due to the high standards achieved this restaurant is always busy. Definately would recomend and return.

Great main courses and service, but the starters seemed basic and comparable to any Chinese/Chippy. Overall, it was a great restaurant 👍

Wow... What a wonderful meal and experience at Choy Hing Village. Having lived in Warrington my entire life, I'd never eaten here before. Really disappointed I haven't! As a party of 5, we ordered the Christmas banquet. The food was outstanding. All hot, fresh and delicious. The courses were timed perfectly; we did not feel rushed and had enough time between each course to pace our meal. The service was really prompt and attentive. I will definitely be back, thank you for a lovely evening!

Been going for over 25 years, if anything the food is getting even better, so is the service.

Amazing food, lovely friendly staff.

My wife and I enjoy going to the Choy Hing and we've never had a bad meal. The staff are friendly however we do get sick and tired of constantly being asked if we've finished our meal. This usually happens if we've stopped eating and we're chatting but we still have food on our plates and in the dishes. We usually get asked 3-4 times, sometimes more. Better communication amongst the staff would probably help.

This place has always been excellent, it really is the benchmark for all other local Chinese restaurants, the staff are genuinely friendly and attentive, the food is always incredible and there is a good drinks selection, it is always really busy here so I would recommend booking in advance to avoid dissapointment. The banquit set meals they offer are great value and you will never leave hungry!

I took my girlfriend to Choy Hing last night after reading the many positive reviews. We had a lovely time. The decor is nice, the staff are all friendly & the service is very good. The food is exceptional & the menu is comprehensive. A nice evening out at a reasonable price. Will be going again soon. Thank you Choy Hing.

Fantastic food and the absolute best service. Always brilliant - we go regularly and they always treat us very well. Ken is always really nice and a Leu and the rest of the staff are very professional and make the experience the best it can be.

So let down...not what it was...resteraunt looked messy.and everyone just seemed frantic and not organised.. ..nobody asked if I wanted another drink sat with an empty glass all through the meal..main meal was meant to be spicy ?? it was awful...nobody asked if everything was OK..egg fried rice had no egg and just looked like slightly coloured boiled rice...all In all a very average meal in what used to be a great place to eat...such a shame

Where to start! We’ve been coming to Choy hing for many years. The food, the service & ambience is truly excellent.. and I’d like to give a special mention to the waiter, Ming. He always provides the best service and makes our evening that extra special. I would definitely recommend this as the best Chinese!!

Had a nice meal here, sweetcorn soup, plain foo young & curry sauce all lovely, the only reason I chose 4 stars was because they charged £11 for the foo young which is just scrambled egg as asked for it plain', the veg spring rolls had too many bean sprouts in them & the place was a little dated inside.

Fancy served take away food. I was really disappointed with food as this restaurant is very highly rated and recommended... Westernised Cantonese food not authentic cuisine. Dim sum platter £10pp not worth it dim sums where frozen from local Chinese shop (I know place where you can buy exactly the same ones). Soups where ok. Mains average, chilli chicken not spicy more sweet than spicy. £6 vermicelli where greasy. £4.40 for small coke is robbery in a daylight JOKE. Service was on top level can't say bad thing about that very professional. interior was nice too. Save yourself some money and order takeaway because it won't be much different and half of the price.

It has been a while since we visited the Choy Hing and it was even better than before. The service, atmosphere, presentation and food quality was excellent. We will return sooner than later.

When paying premium prices for a takeaway, you expect it to be top notch. Overall food was OK but they forgot to put the hoi sin sauce in for the duck, anyone that has duck knows without the hoi sin sauce you might aswel chuck the duck away! Disappointed...

My family have been coming here for years. Lovely food and happy people.

This used to be a regular visit for me over 15 years ago but moved to the other side of Warrington and tonight was the first visit since then. It was like going back in time, the restaurant looked exactly the same and the food was even better than I remember. The staff are so friendly and it was still great value. Well done to all the team!

The building was spacious with good lighting and nice designed on the walls and ceiling. The staff were extremely kind and provided great service. The food was delicious and the duck was extraordinary. Will definitely return and the business definitely deserves 5 stars.

Amazing place. The sharing platter is insanely good. We happily travel over 40 miles to go here and have loved it the last 15 years. The sea bass is a must!! Service is fabulous 👌 Thank you and we can't wait to come back again soon.

Lovely food served by attentive staff

We made the mistake of going for the early diner’s “discount” dinner at £19:50 each for the three course meal PLUS an extra £2:50 if you add in Chinese soup. The soup was edible but pretty tasteless, nothing like proper Chinese soup, more like warm, purple water. The crispy duck and the main courses were fine but the portions were tiny. The best part of the meal was the banana fritter which was the size of a banana, of course! The Cobra lager at circa £5:60 tasted like fizzy water. If you do eat here don’t opt for the 3 course set menu at £19:50, go a la carte instead.

I live locally and have been either eating in the restaurant or having take outs. The food is absolutely exceptional quality and cooked to perfection. The staff give 100% service and work extremely hard to make sure you have the best time, they are always polite, pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. Other restaurants could learn a great deal from the way this establishment is run. A huge thank you to all the staff for your excellent hard work.

This evening we booked a table for my son's birthday, once we had booked we then had 2 additional members of family wanting to join us, unsure if we were able to add them on at such short notice we called up to see, the staff were very accommodating and we moved the times around to fit us in on a bigger table. When we arrived the restaurant was extremely busy and at one point there was a queue leading outside to get in, something you don't see at many places which I thought was a good sign. Taking into account how busy the restaurant was I was a bit apprehensive on how quick the service would be, all I can say is we were served promptly from start to finish, all the staff were extremely polite and friendly despite how busy it was and ordering more drinks to the table was no issue and arrived very quickly. They allowed us to bring over some balloons prior to the meal and set them out at the table for us on arrival. They were also very cautious about mixing foods and contamination as my son has a handful of allergies. All in all choy hing did not disappoint, the food was amazing and cooked to perfection and the sea bass was beautiful. I would highly recommend this place for whether it's a date for 2 or larger groups.

Great food and service, bit expensive though

The food was of good standard, but not completely authentic with what seemed quite a westernised flavour. It was tasty though and well presented. However, flavours in different dishes seemed to have very similar background flavouring. Service was good also with staff being friendly and attentive, if maybe a little rushed with the busyness of the night. This restaurant is very popular and had a lot of repeat visits (most guests who arrived after us were greeted by name or recognised face), so even with the food not being exactly to my taste, it evidently suits others.

Lovely food and very pleasant staff who are friendly and attentive. Fairly small but cosy and welcoming restaurant. We had the lunchtime 3 course deal which was really tasty and great value for money at only £12.50. An enjoyable experience, we will definitely go back again and will recommend to others.

A good place for your chinese food cravings when in Warrington. This restaurant is bit on pricier side, but seems quite popular with locals. Coming to the food, I had spicy hot and sour soup which was okay, and seems like prepared in advance. For starters I had siu mai (pork dumplings) which was freshly made, and had a great taste. For mains I went with severs recommendation, smoking black pepper chicken which did not disappoint. I also had some egg fried rice to go with it, which was pretty basic. The portion size was quite good and I would recommend sharing. Overall a good place, do give it a try when you visit Warrington.
