Chotpoti Lounge in City of London, Westminster

Visited this place today after travelling 3 hours. If there was an option for no stats I would’ve chosen just that! There was a warrant officer collecting an outstanding bill just trying to do his job. The owner however - will speak to customers absolutely fine (to get the money) BUT the way he spoke to an innocent man just trying to earn a living was absolutely disgusting. This guy had legit ID and had manners even after getting spoken to like that. Absolutely filthy language used by the owner, on top of that, locked us in just so he can lock the officer in. If you didn’t want to get confronted like that, maybe just pay your bills! Won’t be going to this sort of place who treats people like crap, oh and the food, so basic! No taste, overpriced for something I can make in my kitchen. No distinctive flavours at all! The owner should learn some manners and not worry about how many ‘followers’ he has as clearly this is what made his head so big. Drop your pride and maybe your so called followers will actually respect you.

The interior is aesthetic. I came with my family but I could 100% see coming here to hang out with friends. The vibes are great. The owner was super friendly. The service was fantastic and she was thoughtful and checked in often. The food was a huge hit for everyone! We had so many things on the menu we wanted to try but didn't get the chance to! The only thing that stopped me from eating more was the space in my stomach 😢 The fuchka was delicious and filling. It was a good portion and the filling and dunking sauce were delicious! The naga jhal muri was rightfully very spicy 🥵 but so worth it because it was super tasty. It was a flavor bomb in every bite!

We went for some desi breakfast with my family. we waited around and at first asked for masala fries, which they said they needed to double check if they had masala fries. We asked for tandoori tea and 2 paratas. They then made us wait then asked us to order the desi breakfast as it’s the same items and same stuff which we said is fine. Then they came back and said they don’t have desi breakfast they said they will let us know. They then made us wait again and came back to tell us the masala chai had finished and all the food had finished. it was absolutely disgusting and a horrible experience.
