It doesn't look like much from the outside but the Food is fantastic. Everything is well spiced and cooked well... But the inside needs a face lift, some better furniture and maybe soft music so you're not eating in complete silence. It's a rough diamond.

The meal was delicious, however, the pricing is slightly elevated for the value received. I paid just under £10 for a breakfast that only included the quantity of food typically found for £7 elsewhere. Additionally, tea is not included in the price, and at £10, one would reasonably expect a cup of tea to be provided.

I was a bit disappointed with this place - it looks like it would serve a great fry up but the sausages were not very nice and it was quite expensive for what you got (e.g. a hot drink was not included in the price). However, the fried bread was delicious and the owner was very friendly and attentive! I haven't tried the Persian dishes so cannot comment on those but I would like to try them in the future.

Very friendly owner and lovely service. We have been explained about the ingredients too. Local cafe atmosphere. Although I was not expecting £2.50 for a dip of olives. Coffee had a strange aftertaste which may come from the milk used. Parking is available in the supermarket opposite, free for 2 hours.

Food was shockingly awful. Worst breakfast I've ever had. We felt physically sick after eating it had Heinz tomato sauce bottles on the table with cheap tomato sauce in them. Disgusting ingredients sausages were like sawdust just fell apart. And Crumbled and it wasn't even cheap. Cost me £22 for two breakfasts and two drinks very expensive for cheap nasty products

Decent place, although decor needs a bit of an update. I ordered toast, beans, hash browns and tea. Cost was £8 or £9 I think. Bit pricey I thought but hey ho. The food was nice, hot, and delicious. Staff were friendly enough, not really chatty, but that's fine. Premises clean, but a bit dated. Parking atrocious!

I love Metro. I always eat the wonderful Persian food, so tasty, huge portions and very reasonable prices. It's a family run business, and you really feel like part of the family when you eat there. The decor, seating etc is a bit basic, but don't let that put you off. The food is just lovely.

Can't recommend this place enough. We went there after seeing a piece on MEN - and it was absolutely worth it. The Persian food is amazing - extremely flavoursome, very tender meat, and hearty. This cafe is the absolute definition of a hidden gem. From the outside it looks like just a regular greasy spoon cafe, but the menu has some surprises on offer. Alongside the regular cafe offerings, there's a set of traditional, home-cooked Persian dishes which blew me away completely. As a fan of Levantine cuisine, the food here may very well be the best I've ever tasted. I had the Khoresh Fesenjan, which is a paste of amazingly tender chicken, rich saffron, ground walnuts, pomegranate and an array of spices. It was sweet, sour and held amazingly complex flavours, served with perfectly soft and fluffy rice. Incredibly reasonably priced too. A shout-out to the owner too. He takes time to chat with customers and makes you feel very welcome. His wife cooks all of the dishes herself, using ancient family recipes and techniques. Don't hesitate, just go here and try it! Other middle eastern restaurants are just going to disappoint me from now on.

A cafe of two halves - traditional greasy spoon and fantastic home made Perisan food. Prices for both looked very good. Not your fancy sourbread and avacado place, but a traditional cafe where you can get a decent fry up for a good price. The bread is cheap white sliced, and that's exactly how it should be for this kind of breakfast. Halal and vegetarian options both looked good. Staff kind and helpful. Often not very busy which is a shame because it's a nice place.

I got the Breakfast Special (£8.80 for 2 bacon, 2 sausages, 1 x fried egg, mushrooms, baked beans, 1 x fried bread and 2 slices of toast) but for ordering an extra egg to make it 2 x fried eggs I got charged an extra £1.30 which is nearly as much as the cost of a full box of 6 medium sized eggs (!!) There were also very few mushrooms on the plate (far less than you used to get) the bread used for making the toast is clearly very cheap budget bread and there was hardly any butter on the toast so the toast was dry. The toilets have also been out of action for over 6 months for some reason which means not only can you not go to the toilet but you can’t wash your hands before or after you’ve eaten either. This used to be a good place to go for a Full English Breakfast but not anymore unfortunately so won’t be going back any time soon.

Bottomless brunch. SHOCKING. Most of the already limited menu wasn’t available. One of the only savoury meals you can choose (chicken) was rock hard & inedible. Sourdough bread was tiny & had giant holes in middle (was basically sourdough crust). It took 1hour to bring x4 pieces of burnt chicken & x4 unbuttered bread slices (we still can’t believe the chef had the nerve to call that a meal & serve it). We asked for butter for bread to be brought with our sides- which then took a further 30mins for chips to arrive (tiniest portion possible)- to still never receive the butter. Far from what we expected when travelling all the way to Manchester & paying £85 for the voucher! Feeling ripped off is an understatement.
