Perfect dinner. I loved every little bit of it. Thank you for putting so much love into the food. I can taste it!

extra big salmon fried rice is unbeatable very nice staff as well

Food is good and big portions. But one thing make me disappointing is that they only accept cash payments. Not sure what the reason is but accepting cash only is very odd while mostly the restaurants in Edinburgh accepted cards.

One star intead of -5 stars simply because in 2024 you are allowed to be cash only.

The food was great, the portions were big and it was very tasty. The only issue I have is that you only get 1h 30mins to eat, which was just barely enough to finish our food. I understand that the place is small but it's not very nice to have to leave so quickly.

100% coming back for sushi! A cozy shop with friendly service, phenomenal sushi and decent mains. Our group shared the rainbow and volcano roll, both beautifully presented and delicious! Other friends shared the dragon and something else with no complaints. Eel Temaki (no photo because I downed it) was also so flavorful and saucy!! Some friends liked the Shoyu Ramen and others didnt. I found it interesting they had this, though I would also like to see other kinds of ramen instead of fried noodles. My fried noodle main was lacking, nothing bad but nothing good. Other friends ordered nicer things. I may try the fried rice or shoyu ramen next time, or just have sushi.

Friendly restaurant with good food and service. Quite large portions. One of our favourite eats in Edinburgh!

The delicious food. The sushi took a while but it was worth it. The only bad thing is that it is very cold inside. I don't know if it's always or we just had bad luck with the heating. They only accept cash, to keep in mind.

Loved Teriyaki Chicken Udon! Wonderfully filling and delicious. The service is just amazing and so welcoming! 10/10 definitely. Would love to come back here next time when I travel to Edinburgh. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing service and food! You can tell the Ingredients are fresh. Although you sometimes have to wait a while for the food that's only because it's made fresh! I would also recommend booking a table in advance!

The food is mainly nice and fresh, but thr service is abrupt. If you have a reservation you are never sat on time. You are only allowed an hour and half for dining. You are not timed from the time of sitting, but from the time of the reservation. No pleasure in dining this way. The waitresses come all the time and point their watch as to “you have to leave, others are waiting”. If they book reservations, they must sit customers on time, because if we are late finishing with our meals it is because of the staff being late sitting us! Unpleasant environment

This is such a lovely restaurant with delicious food and great service. Varied menu and very good value for money too. It’s brilliant for any dietary intolerances, with lots of gluten free dishes on the menu. It’s only a small restaurant so worth booking to make sure you get a table!

I had 10 minutes to catch my train and they managed to make my rolls in record time and for me to have a delicious dinner on the train.

One of the really good Japanese Fusion Places in Edinburgh. Would really recommend the Ramen and soup they offer.

I lived in Japan most of my adult life and it has been hard to find good Japanese restaurants in Edinburgh that are not extortionate. This little restaurant is my favourite - excellent food that is reasonably priced. All ingredients are very good quality, and are cooked to perfection. I can't fault it

Always top quality food and polite, unobtrusive and genuine service from people who care about what they do. Sushi is fresh and so tasty! Dragon roll is our go to and I enjoyed the scallop main as well. All five of us on our last visit tried various things from menu and couldn’t fault any of it :)

Good food and friendly staff. Just make sure you either carry cash or can do bank transfer as they don’t accept card payments. I would recommend takoyaki, duck spring rolls, California roll and chicken katsu ramen.

I discovered this restaurant a couple of years ago and it's surely my favourite. The salmon cut never disappointed, the staff are always friendly and service is great. The front of the house is very nice and cozy and both front and back are always perfectly clean. If like me you like a good salmon sushi and a nice and friendly environment, try this place. Just remember to bring cash (ATM is 2 Min away) and a nice bottle of wine if you like, as alcohol is not served here.

Cosy simple place with tasty food and nice staff. It feels like family run place. I still like this place and will keep on coming back for tasty food.

Had a takeaway from here so can't comment on the service or atmosphere. Had the chicken katsu curry which tasted fine but came with hardly any sauce. The ramen broth was not particularly good compared with when I've had it elsewhere. The salmon sushi was very good though - would recommend for sushi, not so much for other dishes.

Had a problem with our reservation, but staff couldnt be nicer and we got it all sorted. We were glad we waited as the food is excellent. Prepare for a wait if its busy. Also, remember to byob!

Cannot recommend this place enough! The veg caterpillar roll is probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten, my tastebuds are eternally grateful.

Un sitio curioso, por lo visto a veces no aceptan pagos con tarjeta, solo efectivo. Por otro lado, puedes entrar tu propia bebida, eso fue realmente curioso para mí. El sushi, especialmente makis y urumakis muy buenos.

The promised city of gold, el dorado, would be a let down in the face of the achievement that is the golden roll. Every time as i put a tender ripe morsel in my mouth, i imagine it cannot recapture its initial triumph, and yet it does. I fly back to scotland and the thought of it haunts me, sweaty dreams of snuggly wrapped panko prawn paired with ripe fruity goodness. In short, would highly recommend it.

Been coming here since 2019. I have brought many friends and family to this place ever since. The place is small but the staff are very attentive and they anticipate your every need even before you ask them. Food itself is top notch and portion sizes generous without compromising the quality. It is honestly our family’s favourite restaurant and we come to Edinburgh literally just for Chizuru Tei. The gluten free option is also great!!! You have a lot of choices even if you suffer from coeliac disease and you don’t feel like an afterthought. Brilliant place all in all. I was in Edinburgh for a meeting so I pre-ordered for next day delivery and even though this was for a lunch when they do not usually offer delivery, Chizuru Tei transported the food for us . They also called an hour before delivery to check in. We were a group of 4 and ordered for at least three courses. We had soft shell crab tempura which was perfect. The sashimi was fresh and generous porportions. Noodle, rice dishes and sushi were a hit and the ice cream which I do not think they normally offer for takeaway was a hit all round. We had assured them we would pop it in the freezer ! Every part of the three courses was enjoyed and it was clear that good quality ingredients were used, there is nowhere to hide with sashimi ! The presentation, given it was takeaway was still there and the added bonus of grapes with the ice cream was a surprise especially as they were not noticed and were part frozen when we go to the dessert. They were yummy. It was a lovely meal and the service offered albeit remotely, was excellent. We had picked one of the busiest days not realising that Beyonce was in concert nearby and Hearts were playing at home a few steps away. Despite the traffic restrictions and general traffic and footfall issues the meal arrived on time. The ability of Chizuru Tei to adapt to our needs was impressive. The price was very reasonable given the amount of food and the quality offered. I will definitely order again. I just wish I lived in Edinburgh and could order more often. The only down note was the lack of card payment. Solved by finding a cash machine on route but paying by card would have been easier.

This is a lovely restaurant! You can only have the table for an hour and a half, cash only and no alcohol is served (BYOB) but the food was incredible, fresh and full of flavour. The staff were lovely and the service was quick. Will definitely be back.

The staff were great and very helpful. The food was so freshly made and delicious. We loved it and will definitely be back. Amongst other things we ordered miso soup, volcano rolls, tempura and tuna nigiri sushi - all fab and can’t fault anything at all. Loved it!
