Chish & Fips in Norwich

Our local chip shop and lucky for us does amazing vegan options! We have tried all the different vegan choices- pies, fish and sausages but our go to is 2 sausages and chips. To be able to get something that tastes just like we remember it is amazing. All the choices are great, it's not expensive and the staff are so lovely. You can call ahead to order and it will be ready when you get there. Can't recommend highly enough !!

Hands down the best fish and chips in Norwich. Wonderful friendly staff, always greeted with a smile and a chat! Every Friday night we get a takeaway and it never disappoints. Absolutely delicious. Beautiful fluffy white fish and golden chips. They’ve even supplied food for my 50th party, and whenever friends come to stay they insist on Chish and Fips!! - amazing! Keep up the good work guys 👍👍👌

Tasty food, lots of vegan options.

Tried the Gluten Free Cod & Chips tonight, absolutely wonderful, perfectly cooked fish and super tasty chips. Can't recommend enough, 5* all the way !!

Ever since we moved nearby, Chish and Fips has been our go-to for our Friday night takeaway. Always quick to answer the phone, collection orders are a godsend, and our order is perfect every time. The fact the food is so good makes it a no-brainer when the question "where should we go?" is asked. (That question never gets asked now - it's a given that we'll come here!!)

Just simply one of the best fish and chip shops in Norfolk. Very busy, very organised as they have to be, with the volumn of business they do. There is a reason why they are so successfull, superb fish and chips every time. Its as simple as that.

Ordered food online. Was ready when I have arrived. Stuff polite and always smiling but you can say they not happy there. Food to be honest more too expensive and not that good as been advertised. Chips dry with wired aftertaste. Fish to oily.

Always excellent food and a good selection on their menu with gluten-free and vegan options too offering something for everyone. A warm welcome and great service every time at Chish & Fips. Great to see a chip shop serving butchers sausages too. Would highly recommend!

staff were extremely rude, food really wasn’t worth the money, would of been cheaper to go to the sea front tbh definitely would not recommend, batter was soggy with no colour and chips weren’t great either

Well worth it - reputation deserved! A level above most chippies, at the same price. Beautiful golden batter and chips, without being soggy at all.

That good old staple dinner fish and chips... and sausages =o) Chish and Fips battered sausages are tasty. Pushed the boat out and went for the foot long. Just the right amount of chips. Nothing worse the getting more than you can eat. Their deep fried cream egg and battered mince pies have to be tried when they are on the menu!

This place has always had a fantastic reputation so I was thrilled to see how many vegan options they've added recently. The vegan sausages are fab and a really good price and Pukka pies are always welcome on a menu. The sort of chippy you will return to again and again.

Ordered large chips, battered sausage, and chip butty. Sadly the chips were extremely dry and had no seasoning on. Curry sauce tasted nice. Service was quick, but overall not a great experience.

Disappointed to be honest. I just traffield a bit further to get my fish and chips as I have been there a few times about one year ago and they were really good but not this time the chips were very dry and hard they seemed to be warmed up and not fresh the fish was ok.

It is okay... but the food is cooked in vegetable oil and so does not taste or smell as good as traditional fish and chips. But I suppose it is good that vegetarians have somewhere they can buy chips from

For a chippy with that name it was a let down. Food was soggy and the gravy was practically solid. And it wasn't cheap neither.

I usually get small portions of chips and a coke can, but now im getting a battered sausage because of Chish & Fips. Lovely and local. I just tried the battered cream egg, and it was amazing.May look weird but it isn't.

Delicious food, great customer service.

Have been a few times and it's been fairly good, the last time I went, just before Christmas was a bit disappointing, the battered pigs in blankets were a bit sloppy and greasy and the chips were dry and quite hard going. Maybe its the time of year, will give it another go at some point

Absolutely first class food and service

Went in Friday. Quite expensive if I'm honest and what kind of chippy doesn't do Gravy. Might be the northerner in me but I was very saddened by this. Chips were fine sausage was fine

I ordered the battered pizza and a small portion of chips. I also brought 3 sauce sachets which I was very impressed with as they were a great price and of course perfect amount of sauce. Surprising it was cooked fairly quickly even with me ordering the battered pizza. The pizza was a good small size and was nice to try something new. It wasn’t oily but it was definitely what you can imagine a battered pizza to be. It’s a full carb over load. But the chips were amazing and probably the best I’ve ever had! Would 100% recommend. I can understand why they call it the best fish and chips in norwich! 🐟🍟

Food was kind of dry, service was alright kind of dull, portions aren’t generous. Very hit and miss if you will. Over priced aswell I was not happy about the prices.

Ordered in advance over the phone, was ready exactly when they said it would be. Reasonably priced for excellent quality fish and chips. I ordered skate and it was delicious. My partner got cod and it was also fantastic. Would highly recommend

Gorgeous, literally the 'Chish N Fips' we had was so nice...No wonder there was so many people queuing and, waiting outside...Says it all! Without a shadow of a doubt we would highly highly recommend this Chip Shop

Was working around the corner so I thought I’d grab sausage and chips Well what can I say It’s was one of the best sausage and chips I’ve had It was just perfect The chips were large chunky and lovely and this is the only chip shop I’ve been to that uses a good quality sausage … Absolutely faultless

Awesome fish and chips served by a friendly team. Ate them in the nearby park.

Only 5 minutes walk from where I live, this is our local chippy and it's brilliant. Great food, good value for money. Friendly and helping staff.

Me and few guys at work, read previous reviews and saw some great pictures of the food here. Drove down and wow, not disappointed. From the service at the counter, the conversation with the chef, so friendly all round. The food was great, cooked in vegetable oil, the chips were golden and perfectly cooked. The butcher sausages and batter were the best i have had. All in all a must for the best service and food. Excellent.

This is one of the best fish and chips and would recommend to anyone and everyone. As him indoors enjoys the fish and chips then what more could anyone say. Him indoors thinks he is a food critic of the highest order.

A place to the heart of locals. Very clean and tidy place, system in place for better customer flow in and out. Friendly and accommodating staff. Food is really good, fresh and hot. Gluten free all day on Tuesdays, and 💯. Hands down best gf cod and chips in the UK. Batter is so good you can’t really tell it’s not wheat! I’m coeliac and they use separate fryers, and never had an issue here. Honestly, what a gem. Gets a little busy out front - space for maybe four cars - and it’s hill parking. If there’s no space there are plenty of side roads nearby.

Often use this chippy unfortunately last week large signs in window were advertising Frying New Potatoes unfortunately my daughters and I were disappointed as they were noway as advertised. Will excuse this time.

Large order. Mid aged chap obviously wasn't having a good day. Everyone else was very happy and helpful. 1 piece of fish was nice. The other piece of fish was never probed and I dont believe it would have been served if it had. Soft jellied fish with a layer of under cooked batter slightly crisped on the outside.

Fantastic Gluten Free Fish and Chips! Delivered to our car too! Just a shame that when we opened the bag after leaving we found nothing to eat it with and no Salt & Vinegar :( Maybe we should have asked first as we went given the option.

Lovely fish n chips, always fresh and tasty. They are deserving off their great reputation.

Not as good as some would have you believe. The first time I came I wasn't overly impressed but thought maybe they just had a bad day. Gave them another go last night. The fish was ok, if slightly greasy batter, but the chips somehow managed to be both burnt (outside) and undercooked (in the middle). If there is one thing a chippy needs to get right, it's the temperature of their oil.
