Chips Ahoy in Swansea

Called in this afternoon at approx 3 pm, had sausage and chips, sausage was ok but the chips were rock hard and obviously been sitting there for ages or reheated from earlier. Shame really, I think if you are open you should be selling top quality, these were not.

We call to this fish and chip shop most Fridays I wrote a sparkling review some weeks ago BUT TODAY - only a young man cooking and chips were ABSOLUTELY AWFUL 😩😩 We pointed out to him and took them back but he wasn’t bothered. Such a shame as the fish and chips are usually splendid. I do agree with another reviewer that fish is not skinless which is not so good and today the batter was not up to their usually quality. Todays young man obviously not at his best !! 😩😩 We will give calling here a miss for a few Fridays and try again in weeks to come. Hopefully he will have moved on by the time we call again. Must admit we are very disappointed.

Beautiful food. Lovely staff! Previous review was from 2016. New owners and management from then. Look at google reviews if your wanting more of an honest review. 10/10 for food and service

10/10 food and service. Fair price especially with rising of costs. Went with family. Cod was beautiful and the children enjoyed their sausage, nuggets and chips.

The worst piece of fish I’ve ever had. Like a very small bit of fried fish had been redipped and fried again. Very hard and thick batter with dried up fish inside - awful

The service was quick but the food small and expensive. It was nice though. There was a grocer's apostrophe on the "fork's" tub. I'll probably not go there again but mostly due to reasons of geography.

Paid £11 for fish and chips, the fish was not skinless and not many chips, would not use again and wouldn't recommend, very small potion size for what you pay especially as we asked for a large chips, very disappointed with what we received!!

Third visit here! Amazing food quality. Fish was cooked to perfection great portion sizes :D Friendly staff too.

Outstanding place! The food is the best within g a 5 mile radius! Always reliable, and the staff are great. No wonder this place has massive cues during the summer time while it’s open all the time! Outstanding once again👌

Outstanding! Just had cod bites and chips. Was slightly suspicious about the about the cod bites, only had them as they were out of large cod. They were delicious, better than a cod fillet and I'd always have them as my preference in future. The chips were perfect as usual, crispy outside, fluffy inside. They manage this however busy they get. We're so lucky to have this chippy only 5mins from our home. Probably one of the most hard working staff in Gower.

This place is by far the most expensive fish and chip shop I have ever visited. £11 for a standard cod and chips, with no option of a smaller portion. The food was mediocre. I assume most of their customers are one-off holiday makers, so maybe they feel they can get away with the rip-off prices. The staff were all young and were all helpful and polite. That is why this place gets 2 stars from me, and not just one.

Went for fish and chips. Chips okay but fish dreadful. Definitely not fresh! Tasteless. Two fish and chips and two cans of coke cost nearly £25.00

Not seen a chippy all week other than this so no other option, only seems to open Friday and Saturday. Big car park next door, service was quick, decent staff. Food was spot on couldn’t argue with it, fish is really nice! Well worth the visit

Fish and chip shop under new ownership. Food was fantastic and service was friendly! All food cooked fresh to order. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area! :D

Just stopped off on the way back from seeing the Sunflowers at Rhosilli, for some chips at lunchtime. Ate them in the car. I must say they were the best chips I have tasted. And the boys serving were very friendly and polite.

We have had two large takeaway orders whilst on holiday - order ahead by phone or click and collect (can be a large queue at W/e’s). Everything was brilliant. Fresh, large pieces of fish - delicious. Perfect chips. All the extras are great too - the curry sauce is also superb. Highly recommended.

New owners I believe? 100% improvement! Everything was cooked fresh, with very acceptable waiting times, (they’ve got a great team there, everyone seems to know their job and it was running like a well oiled machine). Social distancing/covid measures are well in place with all the requirements covered. We had the crispy cockles (amazing!!), chips (lovely - and I’m very fussy with chips!), sausage and Irish curry sauce (nice and flavoursome). At last there’s a chippy worth going to on The Gower! Keep up the great work - wishIng you every success, you deserve it (and if the steady stream of customers tonight was anything to go by you’ll do just fine). See you again soon.

Just popped down today and the shop is closed all rubbish in the shop so hope this saves someone the time of going along with the disappointment x Dec 2019

We had Cod and large chips from there this evening, and I have to say it was very good. The fish was freshly cooked in front of us, and the chips were good tasty chip shop chips, with reasonable portion sizes. Quality of the fish was fine and the batter was good. Service was friendly and quick. We all enjoyed the meal and I would get food from there again.

Visited 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed our meals. Had a variety of meals and liked the fish chips were tasty, would definitely go again.

Chips were soggy and not very many of them. Fish was ok but not overly hot. Staff were friendly though.

Fuimos a chips ahoy este verano, gran error había un hombre que parecía de su rostro y su pantalón por la mitad del tiempo. La comida era terrible, pero la oscura cocina italiana de pelo era muy agradable, nos dio el servicio con una sonrisa. 50 / 50 si volvería. Música eminem me puso un poco.

The main impression was the meagre portion of chips a good part of which were the tiny bits that you get. The chips were OK just not many of them.

Aunque no cerca de la playa este fish and chips opera entre canciones pequeño grupo de comercios y cerca de una villa de vacaciones en Scurlage. La comida es mucho esperar de este tipo de outlets y sabe bien. El personal es amable y el concesionarios de limpio. Los precios son similares a otras tiendas de chip. Vale la pena una visita si en la zona.

Bien ninguno de nosotros ha tenido hasta ahora cod correosos De hecho 4 de ellos. No recién preparado y detestaría pensar cómo largo la comida había estado sentado en el estante.
