Just bought some chips and mushy peas. The chips were both soft and mushy and hard in the middle at the same time and the mushy peas should be reported to Trading Standards as being mis-sold, they were not mushy peas they were more like pea soup , very watered down.

Not been here for a while and won't be returning. Portions were laughable and came with an extra side of grease.

Lived around Woodgate and Fosse Road all my life. Came into the shop today with my partner and grabbed a cone of chips. I will finally agree with my dad that they're the best chips. He's been telling me for years. Friendly atmosphere and service. A real local business that has been serving customers for many years and is definitely worth my money. Chipstop is for sure my new local!

Tried for the first time do not recommend 15.60 for kids meal and sausage and chips and pea. The peas was like water batter is anemic and sausage inside looks raw stay away!!

Excellent service use to go here all the time and now currently looking for a job here to help out to make the place even better

Fantastic chippy. Could well be the best chippy I've been outside of Scotland. Who I think is the owner has been friendly and chatty every time I've been in. Reminds me of home. So glad it's close!

Had food from here today fish batter under cooked , mushy peas absolutely awful went in the bin , chips standard sausage below standard, expensive won't go again gave me stomach ache

Sausage was ok. Chips weren't. Gravy was a bit like water.

First visit to this chip shop yesterday and unfortunately it will definitely be my last. Really not happy with the level of hygiene. The person on till who is handling money should not also be wrapping chips! The amount of germs on money is phenomenal and will easily get through a very thin piece of tissue paper!! I commented on this and asked for a fresh bag.. She obliged but unfortunately did not wash her hands beforehand so it was fairly pointless. I had an upset stomach last night and again today. The chips were also slightly undercooked and the portion size was very small.

Not fresh, recooked very dry chips. Very Expensive for for tiny portion, paid for a Large £3.60, no way was it enough for even 2 people. Chinese man was serving me nicely Suddenly his I think wife comes Running from the back, the poor man was sent back in the middle of putting the chips in... Very Disappointed, used to go there regularly, it seems not good value or quality any more. Will go to Next Door try New Texas Takeaway, I'm sure they are not as Tight with their portions or customers... ,

I can't understand the negative reviews on here. I love fish and it's great from here, always freshly put into the fryer, chips are great and sauces etc. I would definitely recommend chip stop

Terrible experience i ordered a lamb kebab and she took it out the fridge and microwaved it! It tasted terrible 🤮🤮did not taste like lamb kebab at all poor customer service I do not recommend👍

A firm family favourite- always fresh, delicious, delivered on time. Lovely friendly staff as well. Definitely one to try!

I tend to order from this place and have enjoyed the food, from the kebabs and recently had the ribs and enjoyed them. This is my go to chipshop in Leicester I'd reccomend it.

Excellent place for great food and AMAZING service.

This place is tremendous! And not the good kind of tremendous. Chinese lady spoke within such a rude tone to both me and my boyfriend as we waited for our order, the chips were soggy and the portions are extremely small. Customer service was EXTREMELY POOR, all I could hear was the lady arguing and arguing with her co workers. I am extremely disappointed and I will not be coming back, rumours about the business that I have been hearing turn out to be true. Sadly.

One of the best chippys in Leicester. Great food. Lovely on time. But more importantly the lady that runs the shop has the best customer service going. You will go back. 5 stars

I went in later on in the night, where most chip shops would have cold chips, but the food was lovely and warm and the lady behind the counter gave great customer service. Had a nice chat then went home and enjoyed my food. Definitely would recommend

Food was cold and uncooked chips were rank and the service was absolutely awful, the staff are rude miserable and terrible cooks who couldnt cook a batch of chips to save their lives... AVOID.

I have eaten at Chip Stop a few times now since moving to Leicester and have really enjoyed the food so far. Both the 1/2 pounder with cheese and the traditional fish and chips are some of the tastiest local takeaway food in Leicester. The food is great value for money and served quickly. A potential drawback is the lack of seating but overall is a great place to eat. I look forward to my next visit!

As for our experience - simply horrible. Par for the course these days though as not many good chip shops left. We only went here due to the good reviews but they are so clearly fake. Fake positive reviews by business owners also par for course these days.. We almost felt ripped of twice in one visit.

I go here almost 3 times a week on my lunch. Personally I think the shops great. Staff are always so friendly and we always have a good chat. The food is quite obviously delicious.. why else would I return multiple times in the week! I think the business is great and I’d definitely reccomend people to ignore the negative reviews on here and just try the shop out for themselves because I’m a fussy eater and I love it there. Says it all really Great shop!

Been the best chipshop ever the staff are polite and nice and people who havent got nothing to say dont say anything at all and its was like tonight i went in the staff was having a laugh and had a few disagreements like people would normaly do and as i went to lights i heard someone having ago at the main boss and im not being rude but whoever you are you need to realise the situation before you go around calling the staff names its not on what did they ever do to you nothing so think before you start putting things that not on .grow up and act your age

Poor experience ! Over cooked dry chips on 2 different occassions. Regular size is tiny ! :( Chinese lady owner i think very Rude tone. Penny pinching, did not even get a bag to put chips in for takeaway, just wrapped. Vinegar is very light, obviousley over diluted ! Would Not Recommend !

I visited this business on the way back home last week subsequent to a couple of drinks with colleagues. Had 'fish and chips'. Both quite obviously refried. Chips were soggy and the fish had an odd taste. Chinese woman in the shop was abrupt & I couldn't wait to leave tbh. I don't understand business' like this, maybe I'm missing the point. Surely if they provide a poor quality service/product people are less likely to revisit. How much more effort would it be to cook fresh and be reasonably polite and respectful.. As for me - I'm fairly new to the area but I have discovered a far better chippy about 10mins away and they provide good food/service so I will return - this concept isn't rocket science...

Worst fish and chips in leicester we have had so far. Chips were over cooked, dry not even soaking them in vinegar could save them and my Haddock had too many bones left in it Won't be ordering from here again

Chip Stop is THE best place for traditional fish and chips in Leicester, without a doubt. Value for money and quality food and service. Whenever I go to chip shop the staff make my day- especially Sue. I'm not sure what their secret ingredient is in their chips or wonderful batter, but it's got me hook for sure :)

Just fish and chips... It was okay... Tried the gravy and not my liking...
