I’ve visited this place a number of times. The first time I went, I noticed the staff are all Goans, so I was nervous ordering Punjabi paranthas. But they definitely exceeded my expectations. The staff are polite, not overly welcoming but always polite. Service is speedy. Their sweets/mithai is always fresh and sometimes I only go to get mithai. I have also taken my own hot case to get the paranthas packed in and they’re always accommodating. I don’t like chai there and chaat is okay but you can’t go wrong with paranthas.

I’ve been to the branch in Hounslow many many times, staying in the area a lot for work during the pandemic. I dropped in to pick up a take away or a chai many weeks. I always found the staff very friendly and welcoming. While in Southall, I noticed there was a cafe so I thought I’d call in for a sweet and a Chai while waiting for the bus. When I walked into the shop there was one or two other customers in the store and three ladies behind the counter. I asked the lady if they did a certain sweet. Which I didn’t want pronounce correctly. Which led her to keep saying “in English! In English!”. Then I pointed to what I wanted. She they rolled her eyes and started talking her language and laughing to the customer next to me. This entire experience made me feel very unwelcome and makes me very unlikely to return. I would always recommend this place to my colleagues and friends at my airline. But this experience has made me think otherwise.

Indian street food was disappointing - mediocre at best - flavour just wasn't there and excessively oily. Items such as samosas and kachoris were dripping in oil - it went through two paper bags and covered the surfaces of the plastic bag. Chutney was the consistency of water which is not how it should be. I've been here twice just to give it the benefit of the doubt but it seems the passion to to provide good food just isn't there. Staff are friendly and the price point is reasonable but if you want authentic good quality food I would head to one of the restaurants on The Broadway.

We had a starter between us 2 large mixed lunches, cup of tea, falooda and paratha for £23.00. Will visit again when we have a chance. Restaurant is also clean and sells lots of Indian sweets too.

I walked in just after they had opened. There was a girl in the counter, who gave a glance but didn’t give two hoots I was there. And then an older lady came and with similar indifference went inside. It was just amazing so I said in a raised voice; “is there anybody here to greet me with smile & make me welcome”! Then the older lady came & despite what I had said, obviously didn’t get I was saying & tersely asked me, “what you want!?” I asked for “fresh jelebi”; she said, she will “microwave”! I got it that they don’t have “freshly made”. As I was hungry, I said OK. But it was stale & smelly. Then I asked the same older lady, if she could boil for me few fenugreek seeds I was carrying (as home remedy for my high blood pressure); she tersely said, we don’t do such things! Whereas every other Indian place I have been they have quickly accommodated me. Then I asked for “masala tea” which took like 15 minutes to arrive just before I was leaving. And then I started to write this review and asked them, how would they like me to write it!? The young lady made her face and turned to show me her back, while the older lady mumbled like “no problem”. This is not how a customer is treated in any restaurant, no matter what! Finally “masala tea” came; that was nothing “masala” about it. This kind of place should not just exist.

Would give 0 if I had the chance. Care more about making money than customer service. First question I asked when I went in was 'do you do decaf tea?' the lady answered yes. We said decaf a good 3/4 times to which she replied yes. Sat down and ordered. Masala tea came for me to which I said no I said decaf. My aunty got a plain tea when she ordered something else. So we carried on eating and I went to buy tea bags from a shop. Asked for milk and the man bright a whole cup then charged me for it. They also had two teas on the bill. Simple maths and understanding English is not really mastered at this place. They stood their arguing over the milk. Lost 4 customers. Ridiculous and not educated enough to open a restaurant. She said 'ok fine' when I said we aren't coming back.

Chini Chor has made a name for itself serving great vegetarian food for many years now. From tasty fresh garlic naans to great dosas, daal makhni and kala chanay. The Masala tea is always a nice kicks start in the morning, and the paneer samosas are crispy and tasty. They did have a hygiene issue a couple of years back, but this must have not all been sorted out and the restaurant is back to being busy again. Definitely worth a visit if in Southall, even if you are a meat eater!!

Went to this place for lunch, were seated by a grumpy unwelcoming host who just pointed to a table, we were unsure which one so seated ourselves. The table was messy and it took a while for a waiter to appear. He then proceeded to wipe our table with what appeared to be a lifeless rag. He handed us our menu and it had seen better days. We ordered our snacks and they did not arrive together so my sister and I shared hers. My salty lassi was lukewarm so I asked for ice cubes. My chaat was the worst ever. I have to say the waiter was helpful but the whole place lacks ambience. Smarten up guys. Get some standards.

I ordered a 8.30pm Friday night take out. I ordered chilli paneer and asked these guys specifically ''do you guys cook the paneer in the corn flour batter before you immersed the paneer in it's sauce, like the other Chini Chor Hounslow?'' To which the owner replied ''yes, the same as the other restaurant. We are the same owners as the one in Hounslow.'' I had been very specific with my request. I got the order home and smelled this very funny smell before I opened the container. In the restaurant they had been burning four incense sticks when I had come to order. The food smelled heavily of these incense sticks from the container and the carrier bag. When I opened the container and checked the paneer it had not been cooked in the corn flour as it should have been. So I returned it to the restaurant and requested for my money to be returned. Even after they offered to remake the dish for me. I declined and took a rain check instead.
