The food is always hot, fresh, and packed with flavour. The menu offers a great variety, and every dish we've tried has been top-notch, my all time favourite being the chicken in Palembang. Fast service, friendly staff, and generous portions make this place a true gem. I highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed!

We visited for a birthday meal for a party of 14 and had a very warm welcome. Arrivibg at different tines wasn't an issue as there was a large lounge area with a good selection of drinks. Due to local supply issues, we were forced to use China Rose for a takeaway for the first time tonight and could not fault it. The food was good, plenty of it and very enjoyable with a very friendly delivery driver. We will not be using anyone else in the future, superb.

I’ve got coeliac disease and struggle to find a good gluten free chinese, but I highly recommend China rose for gluten free. The staff was so helpful & told me what I could and couldn’t eat, the food was delicious & it never made me poorly!

£30 worth of terrible food, chicken balls nice batter on the outside but soggy between the chicken and the outside. also ordered a portion of BBQ spare ribs sauce was terrible nothing like BBQ you get 4 for almost £6.50 everywhere I've been they usually give you a tub full of spare ribs for a portion quantity was not there neither was the taste the meat was lovely and tender though. also ordered was the chicken curry now the curry was nice but the chicken was processed of very poor quality. egg fried rice was ok but there's nothing really that could go wrong with that.

Amazing take away absolutely no complaints. The food was flavoursome, clean and vibrant, and plenty of it. Satay, and peppered mushrooms were awesome. Authentic quality food. We will be ordering again and will be more adventurous with the extensive menu and the quality. Fast delivery, helpful staff on the phone. What else could you ask for.

1st time ordering and definitely ordering again food was fantastic! Guy on the phone was very helpful the Malaysian mix meat I had was amazing! The mixed starter was very nice definitely the best one I've had around this area, the ribs were beautifully cooked again definitely at the top of the best around here that I've had and the salt pepper + garlic chips are to die for!! All the food was piping hot very fast delivery and nothing was swimming in oil or fat like some places the chips were crispy and dry no oil drenched in the bottom of the bag. In all very impressed with our meal it was delicious thank you!

So disappointed with the food that we had delivered, this is the first time we have used this take away, the portions were extremely poorly sized, barely any prawns in the crispy Won ton, and there was also some brown paper stuck to the wonton. Extremely disappointed. Will probably give them another go but not blown away at all, especially as the prices are quite high.

Absolutely cannot fault China Rose at all. We rang ahead to see how well they cater for vegans, the owner spent about 15 mins on the phone with me going through the whole menu, what is vegan and what can be veganised. They managed to fit us in at short notice and even popped to the shop to get in some tofu for us as they didn’t have any!! Felt really safe despite COVID-19, very few tables, rules re table clearing and toileting. Great food recommendations from staff, amazing fresh all-you-can-eat food, did a great job ensuring everything was suitable for vegans. We’ll definitely be back!

Visited after recommendation from a family member, staff very friendly, turned out we knew the proprieter from 20 years ago, thoroughly enjoyed the food, clean ,freshly cooked, very tasty. we will definately be going there again, well worth the visit,best around.

Lovely local family owned restaurant with excellent smiling Chinese chefs. If you ask for something specific in a dish on the menu you'll get it and delivery always turns up hot.

Me and the Mr always order from here. Top quality food and fantastic, friendly service. Their always willing to help in any way they can. I can’t eat the chilli’s in the chips but love the garlic so they happily leave them out. If had any issues in the past (not many at all) they will always do their best to help rectify the problem and not just ignore it. They even know my Mr’s voice and our order now. That’s what I call amazing service 🙂

Absolutely fantastic food, most flavoursome Chinese meal we’ve had for a longtime. Over the years we’ve had some wonderful meals at the restaurant on their all you can eat menu, but we’ve just discovered that they now deliver to Clipstone. We have ordered take-away delivery twice now from China Rose during Lockdown and have been delighted with our meals. First time I had a very fresh and tasty Chicken with Ginger and Spring onion and my husband had Beef in Blackbean sauce. John uses topside as opposed to the cheaper cuts of meat and the beef melted in our mouths. Perfectly cooked and delivery was on time with food still hot. Egg fried rice was fluffy and not at all greasy. We enjoyed it so much we had another delivery at the weekend. This time I asked for the beef with mixed vegetables and John went out of his way to ensure I got the vegetables I liked best and even made the meal bespoke as I said I liked the fresh ginger so he added that. My husband had Wandering Dragon and was most impressed by the quality and amount of meat in the meal. Both meals were perfect, the sauces light, vegetables crunchy and overall we both admitted it was possibly the best Chinese take-away we had ever had. Well done John - have recommended to my friends and when the restaurant is able to open again, expect to see us all for a fabulous meal :-)

Picked up a great takeaway this evening. Delicious food, highly recommend the crispy duck starter, beef in black bean sauce, sweet and sour chicken and we had a great choice of vegetarian dishes. We added a portion of their garlic chips which are really tasty. Will definitely be coming back and recommending to family and friends.

We ordered a takeaway to be delivered, we were told it could be up to 2 hours which we agreed to. The food came 2 and a half hours later and was absolutely awful. The vast majority was completely inedible, we contacted the restaurant who were rude and didn't offer an apology at all. Would completely avoid!!

When I initially phoned to place an order they were very busy, so decided to leave it as husband is a key worker and had to go to work at 19.15. Within a few minutes they called back to say the chef would squeeze our order in (in his break) and we could collect within 10 minutes. Fantastic service and lovely food and it has cheered us all up as even the boys were fed up not being able to go anywhere or do anything they normally do due to the current situation, so this meal was extra special. We will definitely order again.

Had our first meal from China Rose last night, a takeaway which we collected, really good, quick polite service, food very good, restaurant interior looked really good as well, will definitely try it again ! 👍

Really enjoyed our night here - very good food with plenty of choice. We have mixed choices of the buffet style and a-la-carte in our group, nothing was too much trouble and they were even happy to accommodate a food selection not normally on the main restaurant menu.

Inside the restaurant is light and airy Menu was good and food was served quickly. The pork with the Iceberg lettuce was lovely.

Pleasant restaurant. Looked clean. Nice service. Think it is cheeky to charge extra for duck and pancake rolls, when this is traditionally part of an “all you can eat” arrangement. Food was quite nice though.

1st time we took Claire's Dad and partner , as usual the service here is excellent, Sue is very attentive and helpful. Jon, the owner always makes you welcome and takes an interest in topical conversation.

Just come home from trying out the all you can eat. We have come away very full and satisfied after the nice food and very friendly staff. It was also a nice touch that the Chef (Owner) came out of the kitchen to chat with us and explain the variety of different dishes and sauces. Our first choice of food is usually Indian but we weren't disappointed in the variety of dishes and spices that were on offer and will definitely return again.

£30 inc. drinks & tip is a steel for how much food you get, simple to explain how it works, order 4 starters eat them & order 4 more, until you move onto the mains & do the same plus either a rice / noodles. ( 4 of us ate to a stand still ! )

We live in London but were visiting Southwell, a village down the road from the location of the China Rose. The food was excellent as was the service. My wife and I had a starter of ribs + prawn toast + crispy seaweed and main course of 3 meats with noodles and chilli chicken with rice, it was excellent. I work near China town in London, the food at the China Rose is as good, if not better than anything I have had there. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying the food and atmosphere. We would strongly recommend a visit.

Shockingly rude service what we got to eat was okay and inside is nice which is why it is an honest 2 stars. Phoned to booked for 19:30 for 10 people! Told had to be 19:45. Then told when ordering main course that kitchen closes in 10 minutes so you can only order 4 dishes and can't re-order Bill over £240 for rushed unpleasant service we lost definitely will not be back and will not recommend

We went as a family of 9. Everything was cooked to order and was very tasty. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff they were helpful and friendly. We will definitely return and recommend to others.

Ended up here after let down by COSMO Derby. The concept here is good, encouraging no waste but there a lot of rules, including not going back to starter dishes at all or having them as mains as I only eat small portions and we had to go as a group. Have to ask for no veg as can't leave it at side of plate as "wasting". Some dishes say plain and ask if it's plain to be told yes just chicken and sauce for it to cone in batter and cabbage underneath for sweet and sour, PLAIN noodles have bean sprouts?!?! Then when questioned was told they were plain...it didn't say chow mein, just plain noodles so!?!? Man was very rude then they did swap it and wmpracticall there it on table. Asked for a side sauce, no meat, was minute like McDonald's ketchupb tub size. Saying that, what we had was unlimited portion wise while following rules and it was delicious but wouldn't return due to rude man and NO sweet/pudding option. The main meal prices without all you can eat are extortionate and designed to push you into the all you can eat...£6+ for plain bean sprouts portion!!!! 1 woman was nice, and chatty but the men were awful. Only gave 3 stat for quality if food we ate, would give zero stars for overall customer service

Ive personally been coming here for years on and off and can honestly say it is by for the best place to eat for Chinese food .. everytime ive been its been friendly always asking if we would like more drinks and the food is beautiful .. the owners are always about and very involded in there business .. love it .. keep it up

I took my Father in law for the first time as I had told him about China Rose several times and promised to take him. The staff were very welcoming and provided a prompt and efficient service. The food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend and I look forward to returning again in the not too distant future

Well what can i say ..... just arrived home after going with my daughter n our partners here, we were seated straight away the waiter was lovely the food came quickly and was delicious. Portion sizes were spot on neve felt rushed to finsh our food totally loved defo will be going back again

This is by far the best all you can eat chinese I have been to! Everything was cooked fresh and tasted incredible. All great quality and a massive selection for just £19.50 each! Service was fantastic too, no complaints and most certainly will be back!

Popped in for a takeaway after getting bored of the food on offer at Centreparcs. Glad we did! Excellent standard of food, rivals even our hometown local. Lovely crispy shredded chicken, rice and noodles. My wife enjoyed her lemon chicken too. We are home now and wishing the place was still a short drive away! Will definitely be back if we are ever near Mansfield again.

We were staying at a campsite just down the road from Rainworth and needed something quick for tea. Popped into the China Rose for a take-away and we were not disappointed! We ordered sweet and sour chicken; chicken, prawn and cashew nuts; egg fried rice; and salt and pepper chips.

Went in with my partner. We were seated immediately and felt welcomed. The atmosphere was great and the service couldn't have been faster or more friendly. Couldn't do enough for you. The food was fantastic with a generous portion size. Definitely recommend.

Booked very late, but decided to pay a visit... The food was excellent, we went off the all you can eat menu and from the very first dish it was just excellent. BBQ Ribs, Spring ROlls, Salt n Pepper Prawns, Delicious. Crispy Duck and pancakes next , again brilliant, these are a must !!!!

Visited recently and it's very clear that this place is in serious decline. Empty restaurant ,the food average at best. Poor selection of overpriced drinks. Slow service of food , the takeaway orders seem to take priority here. It used to be good, it's not anymore.

Went for a birthday meal and it was the worst service we have ever had. Staff unbelievably rude. Made to not feel welcome. Never got asked if we wanted drinks throughout our meal, took a very long time for them to take food orders. Asked if we could pay for chips with garlic and pepper on, to be told the chef says no. Such a shame as the foods OK its just the service which ruined the evening. It was only our group dining aswell so cant say it was because they were busy. Women never smiled once just very blunt and rude in general, blatantly hates her job. They then went on to be rude in response to the above review which just proved my review is true. We will never visit again, other much better Chinese restaurants to choose from that are local.

This restaurant was a really positive experience. Although they were not busy the staff were very attentive and explained all about the 'all you can eat' menu without being patronising. The ambiance of the room was very light and well laid out and was spotlessly clean. Now I come to the food, I would honestly put my hand on my heart and say it was the best Chinese meal I have every had, which was agreed with by my husband and our two friends. We will most definitely be returning in the future. The whole of the dining experience was excellent and not over the top expensive, as I had been led to believe. Well done.

This is the third time we've been to China Rose and as always it was a lovely dining experience. China pidió esta noche. Entrega en 20 minutos fresco, caliente, sabrosa comida. Un montón de carne de ternera con salsa en el frijol negro. Las patatas fritas de ajo chili son increíbles. El único aspecto negativo es su podría haber sido más dulce y salsa agria para ir con las bolas de pollo. Increíble será pedir lo mismo de nuevo la próxima semana :).

Comida maravillosa. Podría decir que era recién preparados y de buena calidad. El propietario es muy servicial y erudito sobre todo su comida. Sin duda volveremos otra vez! Gracias por una noche total.

Friendly phone service and reasonable prices.We enjoyed a tasty takeaway last week which was cool when it arrived and did not have much pork in the chow mein. I also think at the cost a bag of prawns crackers with our order would have been nice to encourage repeat custom. I believe the used to do it, but disappointingly not now.

Went Saturday for my Mrs 40th birthday and they were very accommodating for 16 of us. Food was brought out quick and hot. The food was also really nice we all enjoyed our night, not 1 complaint at all

By far the worst Chinese food , that we have ever tasted . We opted for the £17-50 eat all you like . As we like to try the different dishes . Three of us eating . Choose 4 dishes at a time . The Ribs were not bad , Veg Spring rolls . Of the 3 one was all Mushroom , the other two . Had very little filling . Never had anything like them . The main courses . Anything in a fruity type sauce . The overpowering taste was of Vinegar . Lemon , Pineapple , Orange . Beef and Onions had a Fishy taste . Between the three of us . We managed one starter each . Main courses we had one Noodles and three mains . Struggled to eat them . Wife ordered one more main . Could not eat it , so I tried . Not nice . The main feeling after the meal was . Slight nausea . I feel , that as it is in , small out of the way place . The locals use it . Because they have no other choice . Probably never eating at a good place .

We had the "all you can eat" menu and it was not a disappointment like most places. The service was great with the gentleman having excellent knowledge of ingredients and tastes, he was a pleasure to talk to. The said menu is a good way to try out new dishes as the portion sizes were perfect for tasters and they have a very good wine list too. We will definitely be returning with more people in tow.

I say 'surprisingly' because Rainworth is only a small town and such places don't usually have great takeaways, so this shows people come from surrounding areas and they get repeat business, and I can see why. It was only once I walked in that I recalled using it as a takeaway some years previous which I recall was very nice.We ate in, were not pre-booked and they treated us well, service was super friendly and swift. We all had the 'eat as much as you like' which I thought was quite pricey but the food did not disappoint so it was worth it once we got going. Towards the end we ordered some repeat dishes and they came out different to the ones we had earlier in the meal, so there is a consistency issue but I guess that demonstrates the food is being made to order so not a complaint as such, just an observation.As some other reviewers note, it is a little odd having the staff children in the restaurant, especially close to midnight when they are very young, however, they were very well behaved and quiet and certainly not an issue.We enjoyed our visit and will definitely eat here again.As a final note, nothing to do with the restaurant itself, but the replies on here by the owner to poor reviews. I have to reply to complaints in my job, I have to be diplomatic, thank them for their review even if we don't agree with it, then very politely try to bring them round, whereas you are brutal! I find it kind of amusing because sometimes that's how I want to reply, especially if I know they are just being silly, but I can't because my boss or the Trustees would sack me! And I know why they would do so, because when you reply in an overly defensive reply style, it just makes you look like a poor looser and unable to accept critical feedback, which makes other people reading it think "wow, I wouldn't go there, if I raise and issue I'm going to get my head bitten off rather than have my issue resolved". Reply online how you would in person, with courtesy. Your choice, of course, you own the place and can do as you please, enjoy that freedom, I wish I could!

I have visited both the restaurant and had the take-away option as well and I have never been disappointed. When you live so near to something this good you usually take it foe granted, but believe me I would be prepared to travel miles for food of this quality.The food is always tasty and the sauces authentic no thick sludge you get at some Chinese.The downside is the restaurant is quite small and on weekdays not well populated, but once you start eating the food will be the only thing on your mind. You can choose from 'as much as you can eat' fixed price menu or individually priced dishes.Food that will invigorate your taste-buds.

We stopped at this restaurant on our way back from a university visit. Not knowing the area well we used tripadvisor to show us a high ranking Chinese restaurant. We were not disappointed. The food and service was excellent. I've never had food delivered so quickly and taste so good. It was a bit quiet but it was midweek. What made it even better was their all you can eat menu, meaning you can choose from almost anything on the menu and as long as you eat it, you can order more. After one starter and two mains, we were stuffed of great, tasty food. I'm sure we will visit again.

Chose this place purely from TripAdvisor reviews not too far a drive from our holiday cabin. We were a large family group of 12. This is an unassuming frontage, with classic inside decor. The owners could not have been nicer, nor do do any more for us, nothing was too much trouble. Prices are very reasonable and the food was very tasty and plentiful. They were busy with takeaway orders as well. We could also park outside which is important to us. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

I ordered a takeaway for my Fiance after not going there for some time and found it just as tasty, diverse and most economic takeaway/restaurant within all of the surroundings villages. I would highly recommend China Rose for a family get together, friends or romantic one to one.

We always go for the all you can eat as the quality is excellent, fresh and hot.There is also an extensive wine list to choose from too.By far the best Chinese restaurant in the area

Well three friends and I usually dine at a curry house in Mansfield once every 6 weeks this time we fancied a change, so the China Rose and the buffet menu was the challenge. Thursday night we were one table out of five tables served in the 3 hours we stayed. The host was as reviewed very friendly and welcoming, the interior was clean old fashioned but looked fresh, the service was efficient but most of all regular!We got through three rounds of starters three rounds of mains and two still had room for dessert.The food was hot quick and fresh.Nothing new some times there seemed to be more carrot and onions in every dish but everything was none the less enjoyable. Satay sauce was a bit bland.Great value for money, even though we shouldn't have had another round it was no more trouble. We all enjoyed the night we will go again and I highly recommend it.

Having found out that our usual restaurant was closed, I took to Tripadvisor and came across China Rose in Rainworth. We arrived at 7pm on Saturday 8th October 2016 and though not pre booked a table was greeted by a gentleman and lady who showed me and my wife to our table. Drinks were ordered quickly and we was left for the right amount of time to study the menu;s, we decided to go for the "eat as much as you like" I like this sort of menu as you can always try something a bit different that you have never tried before. the table was cleared as soon as we had eaten each item to give more space on the table and the restaurant was very clean. The staff and the Manager were very friendly/Polite and well knowledged on the items they were serving. Excellent food was served and at a competitive cost. We will def call here again in the future.

What a surprise to find such a fantastically good restaurant in the middle of a small town like Rainworth in Nottinghamshire. I must admit I was recommended by a friend to give it a try and am I glad we did.First things to note was nice fresh linen tablecloths and napkins, the restaurant was very clean with fresh décor which to us was a great starting point.The China Rose is a restaurant that offers two option of menu, one was a la carte the other all you can eat. Having had a bad experience in the past with all you can eat we were tempted to stick to the a la carte but the restaurant manager assured us the quality of food would be exactly the same, so all you could eat it was!We ordered 4 different starters, one was recommended being the Black Pepper and Garlic King Prawns which was so good we ordered another portion.The starters were so good and appetising we knew we could soon fill up before choosing our main dishes, indeed when we came to order we only chose 3 options but a fourth arrived again recommended by the manager.This restaurant is a little gem, full credit to the lady chef who came out and had a word with us after we had finished eating, she was obviously well trained and fully understood the meaning of fresh ingredients being the basis for culinary perfection.If you are in the area give this restaurant a try and if you are not in the area still give it a try, it's worth driving a long way to get food this good.We will definitely return very soon!

We go regularly about 8-10 ladies. We have the all you can eat buffet. You can enjoy your meal without a load of noise. Staff are polite and friendly. Good value for money

We usually receive a good standard of food and service from this Chinese. The lady who greets at the door is always friendly. We never eat in as its always dead inside and the children are always colouring across one of the tables which is a bit off putting but good for a takeaway, prices seem to be rising but still affordable as a treat

Have used China Rose for many years... Pleasant Staff, Great food. I would recommend anyone to sample... You will use again.

After reading the reviews about China Rose on TripAdvisor, we were intrigued as to how any establishment could get such an array of reviews! We went on a Monday evening about 6pm, it was quiet yes, however I don't know many people in particular who go out for tea on a Monday evening. We dined off the All you can Eat menu, which housed some terms and conditions about how the menu worked and what to expect. Although daunting at first we had read the reviews so we vaguely knew what to expect. The owner/waiter was highly hospitable despite being busy (which again is a very good sign that this place isn't all that awful if people are continuing to order from here!). The food could not be faulted. The starters were small, yes. However we were informed should we want the same thing again we can easily reorder it. But we were intrigued to see what the mains offered. The mains were great size for one person as a meal or two to share, which is what we did. In total we had 3 mains between us and 3 portions of rice. It is a family ran business therefore if you expect your children to be welcomed in any establishment (albeit a lot of places state no children after a certain time) you will expect to see children and that's exactly what we saw. The owners child was present during our meal, she was not problematic or noisy or whatever the other reviews state. It is a joy to find a truly passionately ran family business in an age where regulations rule the roost. So the only reason I didn't give it a 5/5 was because it was quiet, as stated this was through our own choice of dining at an unusual time. And it did exceed our usual dining out budget, as 20 somethings we tend to spend around the £30 mark for a meal. But admittedly you do pay for quality and that's what we got here. Well worth a visit. We will be dining here again/ordering from their take away menu.
