China moon Restaurant & takeaway in South Ayrshire

During the summer months we come to girvan in our motorhome and always get our first meal from queenie and the team

Went here with my sister and friend for a meal. We were attended to quickly and the food was absolutely delicious.

Got a takeaway, waited 45 minutes. When we finally got to eat, the food was very nice indeed.

Can't complain food the best I've had out of the 3 Chinese takeaways I've tried so far

Great food and service. Offers sit in or takeaway, accepts cards or cash, on street parking available outside. Closed on Mondays and open til 10.30 tue to thu and 11pm on Friday and Saturday Nights.

Great food. On holiday here and fancied some Chinese. Read the reviews for this place and although some people were not happy I decide to give it a go. Best decision I have made in a long time. If I didn’t live so far away I would be getting a takeaway here every time.

I get takeaway often from here when I'm down at my caravan ,we have sat in a good few times also

Food was fantastic, waited a long time for it though. Staff took a long time to come to the counter to order but there wasn’t anyone in the restaurant, just a big queue for takeout. However the food was really really good and I would definitely go back, was worth the wait.

Food delicious, quick service, staff all so friendly. Owners lovely.

Just ordered chicken fried rice, chicken balls and sweet and sour sauce come within 20 minutes and was the best Chinese I had food was fresh and tasty will definitely be ordering again soon x

Omg I haven't tasted Chinese this good since I was a child living at home in London. Sweet and sour chicken balls were cooked to perfection, no greasy residue at all. Sweet and sour sauce was spot on and just the right consistency. Chicken fried rice was perfect, cooked to tender perfection. If you are looking for genuine Chinese cuisine I highly recommend this restaurant. Will be looking forward to a family sit in meal very soon.

2 and a half hours delivery for fried rice, curry sauce and chips!! Was told they’re doing local deliveries first when I’m 8 minutes away! Absolutely shocking would not recommend this place, food was below average and cold.

Prompt, efficient service for my takeaway, and the food was excellent. Recommended.

Placed an order. First time 5:30pm Not told how long the wait would be! Phoned back after waiting 2 hours to be told another 25/30 minute wait.. Don't bother ordering from here.

Ordered takeaway 6.15 Eating toast and cold meat 8.15 Menu binned!

Not great, was a bit disappointed so will probably not be back 😞

We sat in and the service was abysmal. The crispy duck wasn't crispy and the hot plate it sat on was filthy. The mains were OK but the rice portion was very small. The portion size was a fraction of the take out portion size (and the menu must offer less than half of the take out menu) . The staff was so focused on their take out orders they weren't interested in their diners. They may be having staff issues, who knows, but that shouldn't affect the menu offering or portion size. Time to check out the competition!

China Moon is a good little restaurant serving all your typical fayre of classic Chinese favourites. I've been coming here since 2019 (every time I come to visit my dad) and the food has always been hot & fresh.

Went in for chips and curry sauce lovely had a sit down meal a few years back recommend

Ordered a chicken fried rice, looked like boiled rice, no soy sauce, totally bland. Possibly the poorest Chinese I've had. Definitely falling behind with the times this place

Went for meal tonight not one customer in. Ordered drink. Sat for ages for starter no complimentary prawn crackers 50 mins pass eventually got starter I’ve had quicker delivery on eBay from slow boat fae China. Prawn crackers were damp not crispy. Sat ages again eventually got main dish. Food was ok but this place seriously needs staff as poor girl on till is serving takeaways taking orders from seated customers and serving them too while phone keeps ringing out. If eat out here make sure you’ve got plenty time on your hands

Amazing food called tonight, n wasnt disappointed, the best Chinese I've tasted in a long long time. If in girvan go support these guys they are so friendly a lovely restaurant and hot fresh food. Will visit again before home.

Food is usually good. Last time onion rings were not good (onion thick and not cooked).

Smoked shredded chicken was rotten. Wont be back

My partner says it's one of the best curries he's ever had. The Sweet & Sour Cantonese is also extremely tasty but the chips are a bit of a let down in my opinion.

This is a great wee sit in or takeaway restaurant just across from the petrol station, basic decor, wonderfully tasty food & very decent pricing, staff are very friendly & great service, fully recommend if your in Girvan 👍

Just finished our delivery to Brunston Castle and have to say it's one of the best Chinese meals I have had everything was hot and really couldn't fault one bit of it highly advised if you are staying at the lodges and you want to have a night in, not much choice due to Covid times, I would highly advise trying this place out and they deliver. Happy customer 😊

Hi sorry, but unfortunately no atmosphere, if they had signed up to scheme it may had be a bit more lively but food was good it always is been many times in past .

I would have liked to leave a review after i decided to order a home delivery but the phone was engaged for 3 mins and after i did manage to get through they never answered the phone. Not even after 6 calls at early evening so i took my custom else where. It is down right ingnorance not to answer the phone if you advertise a take away and it would suggest a micky mouse outfit that already has a reputation for exctremely poor slow service. I suggest they re think the buisness plan instead of offering a service that cannot cope with 2 customers at once. What a joke.

Food was excellent, but overly optimistic on the timing. When we ordered we were told 25 mins, was actually over an hour before it was ready for collection.

Lovely staff, food excellent, will return again soon. Beautiful decor.

Delicious food and great customer service

Wow, wow, wow! We have just finished a beautiful meal here which they dealt with for our large group with no electricity!!! Excellent service and exceptional Chinese food with authentic oriental flavours. Service was excellent, food was awesome and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We hiday nearby fairly regularly and will defiantly return in the future!

place looks grubby as windows always look dirty but food is delish , worth a visit

Had a long wait for the meal, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Food was good.

Service was a little slow but the food was really good. Very reasonably priced. Particularly enjoyed the salt and chili smoked chicken.
