The worst sweet and sour sauce in my entire life. Tasteless, watery just horrible! Never again!!!!!!

Given the time for delivery the food should have been amazing- all in the bin in fact. Disgusting. It should be closed down, do NOT order from here. I genuinely feel sick

Terrible restaurant. Food was over 2 hours late before I cancelled. The owner is emotionally immature and unable to have a conversation about the basics of a customer order. Avoid this restaurant or lose money!!

Despite the delivery arriving within the time frame,my £20.24 order was incomplete, the delivery guy even said it was incomplete and would return with my missing food item. Low and behold, he never returned. Decided to to try the food and it was absolutely disgusting, I think I was better off just having a few slices of toast. Tried to call the restaurant to find out what's happening with my missing item and the phone number didn't work. I wish I had read the reviews about this place first. Contacted Hungry House and currently awaiting a refund ....."AVOID,AVOID,AVOID"

I can with definite certainty say that this was the most disgusting takeaway I have ever had. I don't usually write reviews - but this takeaway prompted me to help prevent others from making this mistake. My friends and I ordered a range of rice and noodle dishes as well as what we deemed 'normal' starters. Every single dish was disgusting, oily, tasteless - to the extent that we actually felt quite sick after a few bites. This restaurant/takeaway should not be allowed to keep serving sub-adequate, inedible food - particularly as it is available on Hungry Horse. And to Hungry Horse, shame on you. Clearly people have already complained - perhaps you can take their comments on board, and have a more rigorous system in place to ensure good quality food. Disappointing.

How can this place be allowed to continue trading? Food tasted like it had been retrieved from the bin - which is where it ended up. Part of my order was missing but they have my whole £20 - feel like I have been mugged.

Food took about 1h30 to arrive. Had to call twice to ask where it was. The order was wrong even though I even got him to repeat the order back to me because his English was so bad. Oh and both dishes tasted terrible.

We ordered over £20 worth of food from here via Hungry House. We were told it would arrive at 15:50. When it hadn't arrived by 16:50, having been told at around 16:15 that it had already left the restaurant and was on its way, we spoke to two people at Hungry House who told us that they had been told by the restaurant that the food was on its way. At 17:00 we then received a text from Hungry House saying that our order had been cancelled, the restaurant didn't say a thing to us. We were told that they didn't have a driver until 18:30 that evening and so couldn't have delivered anyway, but they felt that they didn't need to tell us that! We phoned the restaurant to complain and the man on the other end of the phone refused to apologise and just made up excuses saying that it wasn't his fault and there was nothing he could do. He was rude and actually shouted down the phone at me! I would very strongly advise people to avoid this restaurant (and probably Hungry House all together) at all costs.

China House is absolutely awful. We ordered 3 mains and some sides (eggrolls and such), both Chinese and Thai. The pad thai came with regular Italian fettucine pasta. We had ordered a shrimp pad thai, but there was no shrimp at all, only vegetables, so clearly they gave us the wrong order. After waiting 90 minutes for the order, we dove in hungry. Just a few bites in, and our appetite gave way to more objective observance of the food – the pad thai was sour, was going bad. In fact, all the dishes seemed a bit “off”, like they had been sitting out for the whole day or more. We stopped eating entirely because we realized we were so close to possible illness if we ate our meal, which honestly, tasted terrible anyway. Setting the food to the side, we noticed they didn’t deliver the dessert. We called and complained about the missing dessert, the wrong item, and the terrible smell and taste of the food. China House said they couldn’t help us at all, saying the new chef was the only one there and it was his first day. What kind of restaurant puts on unskilled staff all alone?? Since we paid Hungry House, we figured we pay them to manage the system, including horrible product and service. Hungry House appeared to try to help. First I explained everything to an American who “understood how frustrated I would be after 30 min on hold and no help.” Then the line went dead. I called back and waited another 40 min to talk to Vlad. He talked to China House, and we were told to set the food aside for the delivery man to pick up to ensure we weren’t fooling the system. Fair enough, we weren’t eating it anyway. But then they didn’t come. And they would not accept that the food was awful enough to merit a wasted couple of hours on the phone about it. They did acknowledge that our dessert did not come, but would not bring it to us either or explain how they knew this for sure. Vlad from Hungry House eventually opened up to me his inability to do more than gently ask China House to refund us, and that he had no power to give us our money back, though we had paid Hungry House. He forwarded the message to the manager, we left the food out for the delivery man to collect (as asked), and after 2 days, I was told we would only be reimbursed the money for the dessert never delivered. Save your sanity as well as your money – DO NOT ORDER FROM CHINA HOUSE OR HUNGRY HOUSE.

this has to be the worst meal i have ever ordered, the sent chicken nuggests instaed of tempua prawns, the pad thai was basically boiled noodles, items missing from order and staff unwilling to resend. This place should be closed.

Utterly terrible - do not use this restaurant! We ordered online via Hungry House at just before 9pm, initially being told that our food would arrive at 9.30pm. Within minutes of having placed the order, we received a text stating that the order was delayed by half an hour until 10pm. 10pm came and went with no food and despite several calls to China House and e-mails to Hungry House, the food did not arrive until 11pm! When it arrived, it was of very poor quality, tasteless and missing key ingredients. Never use this restaurant!!!!

Last week my friend and I ordered approximately £22 worth of food from this so called "restaurant". Out of all of the places to order food from, we decided to choose this place. Only to be rewarded with food that honestly shouldn't be able to qualify as food. There was no flavour whatsoever and everything was dry! A waterfall wouldn't have been enough to hydrate anyone after eating this food.

Do not order from this place, it is not even an authentic Chinese takeaway. The only good thing I can say about this place is the delivery time was fairly quick. After 15 mins of ordering I got a notification from Just Eat to say my order was on the way. I was a bit hesitant as I thought surely it must take a bit longer for the order to be processed and prepared? This should have been a warning sign! Firstly I ordered Coke, I received Diet Coke. I ordered veg spring rolls (8) I received meat spring rolls (6) - they did refund me back £2. I ordered crab meat & sweet corn soup - I got prawns instead of crab meat. I asked for the noodles to not be spicy, lo and behold, the noodles were spicy with massive chunks of green peppers. This place is awful, customer service was disgusting I had to deal with the issue directly via Just Eat! Do not order at all costs!

Absolutely appalling, disgusting food and even more disgusting service. Do not order from this farce of a restaurant, let me tell you the reasons why - it's a long read but worth it for you, dear reader, to make an informed decision on never ordering from this calamatous, rude, grumpy, discourteous, unprofessional outfit they call a "restaurant". 1. The food was 25 minutes late 2. I ordered hot and spicy wings - when they arrived they were BBQ wings. Hoping this was a simple mistake, I called the restaurant and explained the situation, thinking perhaps it was a simple packing error and that it could be quickly resolved. They assured me I had received hot and spicy wings, and insisted I take a picture to send to them (?!) which I did. He still maintained I had hot and spicy wings, even though I told him they were BBQ (I have this magical ability called a sense of taste, which helps me tell different flavours - It's really useful when knowing the difference between BBQ sauce and hot and spicy sauce!) and essentially calling me a liar. I don't know how you can tell from a picture what a sauce tastes like but I sure can tell, y'know, with my magical sense of taste... Anyway he refused to send out the actual wings I ordered and said I should speak to HungryHouse about it. 3. On checking the rest of the food, the rice, chicken balls and pork dumplings were all stone cold. Chicken and rice especially are dangerous when cooked at a too low temperature so as they arrived cold we had no idea if they were safe to eat (usual answer: no). The entire order was greasy and tasteless (how can you make a prawn cracker tasteless?! I don't know...) apart from the BBQ wings which were DEFINITELY BBQ and not the hot and spicy I ordered... 4. After checking other reviews, I see that other customers received 8 chicken balls, and we only received 6... 5. We then spoke to HungryHouse to make a complaint and they were absolutely lovely. They spoke to the restaurant on our behalf who offered us a paltry £5 discount, which we refused. The poor HH customer services lady had to deal with their rude, dismissive and downright unprofessional staff which was totally not fair on her, so we ended up calling the "restaurant" ourselves to demand a refund. The staff member we spoke to at the restaurant was surly and again incredibly rude, and only offered a full refund when we threatened to call the Environmental Health Officer for Lambeth to inspect their kitchen for sending out cold food. He then hung up - delightful! I want to say the staff at HungryHouse have been totally brilliant and completely professional in helping us resolve this issue. The China House London however should be shut down and their staff attend basic social skills training. On reading other users recent reviews (sadly after we'd ordered, the 4* rating fooled us!) I find we are not alone in having been treated to late, horrible, cold food. I hope, dear reader, that you take this and other recent reviews on board and spend your hard-earned cash elsewhere. Anywhere. Anywhere but here. Good luck!

Firstly it's not even a Chinese restaurant it's a pizza place. The reviews on HungryHouse must be fake as this place is poorly reviewed on every other website. Strange that???Apart from the fact the food was vile, they forgot our order after driving 20 mins to collect and told me I had to come back and get it. Incredibly rude! They didn't even offer to deliver it as it was their mistake or offer refund. The worst part is - not even so much as an apology or something to make up for the fact our food would be cold by the time I went back to collect it. Told them to stick it and fed the disgusting food to the cat who even turned her nose up at it!Vile, disgusting and don't have a clue about customer service. If you like Chinese food that tastes like a £1 Iceland ready meal and pay for something you don't receive - this place is for you!If you don't - the avoid like the plague!

The food was a little dissapointing, the beef in black bean sauce was excellent but the noodles lacked taste. The restaurant forgot the drinks I order3e but they amended it by buying them from the local shop so all was well.

Good combination sea spicy king prawn and nasi goreng rice both off dish was yummy

Perking duck is so dried and burned as well. The appetisers platter taste like over night food, it so dried and already fried for many times. We don't understand why they received so many good reviews but the food is so bad. We will never order from them again.

This was a disgusting service. The food was vile and I was promised a refund by two members of staff, then a further member of staff told me that this is was not going to happen and was extremely rude. Do not eat here.

We pre-ordered our meal for a specific time, but the delivery turned up over half an hour early. We were not at home at the time so the driver had to wait for us to get home, by which time the food needed to be reheated. The delivery driver was unhelpful and unapologetic, and even though claimed this was not his fault didn't seem to care. Terrible customer service.

Cheap and cheerful acceptable chinese... the honey spare ribs were lovely, lots of meat in the dishes :) would order again. The only downside was the rice was a bit sticky....

The sides were great - the pad thai was not good. Won't be ordering from here again. Delivery was SUPER FAST, though - very impressive.

I order from China house quite often, which is good to have a regular Chinese. Right the quality of the food was awesome order chicken noodle and sweet n sour chicken and really happy, they do deserve a positive review from me. I possibly would recamend to my house mate. Thanks to the Chef (the driver was very friendly deliver by Ian)
