services poor, some waitresses a bit rude to make you feel pressure to finish meal in a hurry Cuisine just average, it's not worth the money

very quick service, you’re not waiting long for food and the staff are nice. the let down is that the food tastes close to that of your standard takeaway. unlikely to go back unless big group of people wanted to go.

The service felt very rushed because as soon as we entered, they were rushing us to order our drinks before we had even read the menu. Even when we asked for more time they still rush us anyways. The food service was quick and the starter was good, but the main meal was basically raw noodles, which we deemed almost inedible. We are really disappointed in this restaurant as we had high expectations due to their ratings.

The dock is too hard and chewy I need to see a dentist . Soup smells odd. Everything was not tasty at all. Even the service was not professional, when I complained they said we don’t like this and no one complained

Lived in HK for nearly 50yrs. This is the most authentic Chinese restaurant I have been to in UK. Much better than "Chinatown" in London etc.

Taste extremely bad. It tastes really bad. Don't come. All the snacks were tasteless. All dim sum crusts are very thick. Even the chili sauce tasted awful. I can't stand it anymore. This is the worst breakfast I've ever had. brighton people, feel so sorry for you guys.

Had our evening meal here last night. Lovely service from very attentive staff. We had hot and sour soup and crab and sweetcorn soup followed by Ko Pung chicken and sweet and Sour Chicken, fried rice. We’d love to come back but unfortunately we travel home today! Thanks, it was great!

The Cheung fan and steam dim sum is far from ideal. The dumpling and Cheung fan are too thick and they were over-steamed. The chicken of the steam chicken rice is very tough and over-cooked. Very disappointing. Highly not recommend this restaurant.

I came here to have the dim sum for lunch, as the rating in Google map. I was completely disappointed. I ordered a Ha-gao, the skin is too thick and sticky like being over-steamed a lot. The second dim sum is the Cheung-fun, which I was the most horrible I had in my entire life. I like melted after it over-steamed. I couldn’t even hold with the chopsticks. The mince beef was like scattered sand. The third one was the Siu-lung-bao. There was no soup inside. Lastly, the taste of chicken rice bowl was not bad, but the texture of the chicken was terribly tough like steamed for so many times. Please don’t go to the restaurant just because of the rating. Even I tried reflect the issues of those dim-sum, the waiters ignored me and only talked with the customers feeling happy. That’s very rude to me. The whole meal was not worth for over £35, as there are so many better options among the same street.

I’ve been here many times over the years and it never fails to impress. We managed to get a party of 6 in at quite short notice, as usual the service was excellent and the food very tasty. We had the £35 a head set menu and were left pleasantly full. Would highly recommend

Horrible, we had to spend at least 20 pounds + 10 % for service on the bill, also it's obligatory , and they didn' t say it to us when we entered. When we decided to leave , they stared at us really badly

Went for a meal with friends which started well. Attentive service and starters were brilliant, however the mains weren't of the same standard. We felt that the prices were high for what we had and there was some confusion over our order and subsequently the bill. Would recommend overall.

Our waitress Vivian and the rest of the staff were fun and attentive. We didn’t even need to pour our own beer. The dishes were on the little more expensive side for Chinese food but the service makes up for it.

Been going here since I was 5 months old, I am 26 now and still hold this restaurant near and dear to my heart. If you want some good Dim Sum in Brighton, go here! 5/5 stars

We've been going to this place for many years every time we visit Brighton. A great location with easy access from the sea front. The food is amazing and the staff is very quick and friendly. Sometimes, they have a live music going on. Great atmosphere and value for money. Highly recommend.

Amazing food and really friendly staff.

Love this place, been going there since I was really young and although the size of each piece of the dim sum has reduced over the years, it’s still the same taste. One of the best Chinese restaurants in Brighton for lunch and dinner and by far the best Dim Sum I’ve had anywhere. On weekends and bank holidays it does get very busy but worth the wait every time.

Very average, tasteless food. Required a lot of hoisin and chilli sauce to taste good…. expensive for what it is and most likely not fresh. The staff were nice but I wouldn’t call the food quality.

I love this place. We had a variety of starters and mains. The food was all of the highest quality and so flavoursome. The food is fantastic and the service is exceptional. The staff are so friendly, professional and just make the experience. It is very hard to find a chinese restaurant of this standard these days. I would highly recommend and thank you again for an excellent meal and experience.

Extremely good service, food sizzling hot and served very quickly. Sweet and Sour fish was perfect, Satay Supreme also a good choice. Definitely come here

Checked Google maps for Brighton restaurants, China Garden has great reviews and did not disappoint us. Just had a fantastic meal. Food was fantastic, delicious, so tasteful and good sized portions. Great efficient, attentive and friendly staff with a family atmosphere. Pity it’s 80 miles from home otherwise we would be regulars. Thank you very much for our fantastic meals.

We ate dim sum here many times when we used to live a few miles from Brighton. Returning today, we were delighted that it remains, to us, the best dim sum outside of London. Food quality is still excellent and service is beyond faultless. We can’t speak for the rest of the menu as we can’t pass the dim sum but looking at other diners’ tables, it also looks excellent.

I got the crispy pork belly with a side of rice and some dumplings for a starter. The food came in very quick and the waiters were lovely. Had a really nice time will definitely come back as it is now one of my favourite places in Brighton. It’s a nice couple/family restaurant!

We nipped in and asked if they did takeaway they said yes , ordered food , didn’t wait that long , we were staying round the corner , the food was mediocre at best , was just warm , really not that nice £42 for 2 meals and prawn toast , very disappointed

The staff were super friendly, food service was incredibly fast paced and well organised and the food was delicious.

Food was okay however when I politely asked for the service charge to be removed the waitress stood and argued with me about this and I was made to feel very uncomfortable. This is totally unacceptable it’s an optional service charge and you should be able to tip what you feel is appropriate . Will never return

DO NOT COME HERE! the service was horrendous! I’ve never met a more rude and entitled team in my life! We came in at 9:20 and appreciate it was late, we asked the host if it was alright to dine they said yes “but he quick”… we sat down and very quickly ordered rice, sweet and sour chicken and a chicken curry plus two diet cokes. The entire time servers were rolling their eyes at us and making us feel extremely uncomfortable. When it came to paying the bill we asked for the service charge to be removed as we did not feel our service warranted an extra £5 instead of accepting that fact the waitress ARGUED with us!!! Insisting that as we came in late we HAD to pay the service charge despite our horrible service which made us feel less than welcome. I will NEVER return the attitude and AUDACITY was appalling! I wish I could give 0 stars

Delicious food that was SUPER quick. Portions were great size and it was well priced. The live piano music was a nice touch as well.

We had a great quarter duck for lunch in here. It came quickly and was reasonably priced. It also tasted very nice with the right level of crispiness. The restaurant is also on the seafront which is a plus. Highly recommend.

I’m 💯 a dim sum fiend and this place was so yum, the dim sum was delicious with a great menu and service was so attentive and friendly. Roast duck was also delicious, hardly any to no bones so you got more for your buck which was amazing and delicious - we’ll be back :)

My wife and I visited recently, she had the Salt and Pepper Soft Shell Crab and I had the Kung Po chicken with Egg Fried Rice. The food was exceptional, and delivered with surprising speed. Service was good and we really enjoyed our meal.

Visited Brighton and found this restaurant with a decent rating, but was deeply disappointed by the dimsum. Particularly bad were xiaolongbao (with no soup), egg tarts, the skin of hargao is too thick, etc. Generally the food is quite bad, but the prawn seems fresh. The service is decent too.

The food was absolutely delicious, went in without a reservation but we were accommodated without issue. Staff were very friendly and helpful, decor was lovely, the live pianist was a nice touch as well. Would definitely go again.

This is so far one of Brighton's greatest Chinese restaurants. When we eat in for dinner, the food comes out quite quickly—it seems like you place your order and it gets to you in five minutes or less. Additionally, the staffs are really attentive. We placed an order for special fried rice, egg fried rice, fried beef in bean sauce, and sweet and sour prawns. They're all quite tasty, and we plan to return for dim-sum this weekend.

An absolute gem. If you are craving Chinese food this is the place to be. We ordered prawn dumplings, egg fried rice, chicken with lemon, crispy pork belly and egg tart for dessert. The servings are huge, the price is very good, the staff are very attentive to your needs and the place is very clean. We are looking forward to dining here again and try the other dishes when we come back to Brighton. We are very happy with our experience in this restaurant.

Love this restaurant, we go as often as we can. Our last visit we took our nan to celebrate her 90th, I can’t speak highly enough of the staff, they made the meal feel very special. We always recommend this place to our friends and family

I recently visited China Garden and I have to say, I was really impressed! The food was delicious and had a great variety of options. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was also really nice and had a cozy ambiance. Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend China Garden to anyone looking for great Chinese cuisine.

I’ve visited this restaurant twice now and both times it’s been amazing. The food is cooked fresh and came out very quick considering we came as a group of 8. Service is great, all the staff are lovely and funny. Can’t wait to come back

Hong Kong food is very popular in the UK🇬🇧. According to Google reviews, the service at Shuangxilou Restaurant is not good, but after my experience, it is still OK. The food tastes pure. The waiter is very patient in giving suggestions and will match the dishes according to the customer's taste. , English, Mandarin, and Hong Kong can be freely switched, and the food is served at an amazing speed. Dear friends, you can feel free to choose this Chinese restaurant when you come to Brighton Beach.

Wonderful food, super friendly people and excellent service, with a great choice of dishes. We ordered the crispy duck, followed by Cantonese style fillet steak and pork fillets with egg fried rice with ice cream desserts. The flavours were sublime and can honestly say this is the best Chinese restaurant we have ever eaten at. Would highly recommend this restaurant 5*****

We arrived on a busy Thursday evening 15/02/24 and unfortunately despite many members of staff walking past us, we were completely ignored and left standing by the door for around five minutes. In the end we left as we were not made to feel welcome and the staff are unfriendly. An unfortunate experience as we've had great meals here previously, but we won't be returning.

This Chinese restaurant has been one of the best since I moved here four years ago. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is top-notch. However, I must admit that it is a bit on the pricey side.

Its basic. I wish they’d put more effort into the taste of the food rather than the speed at which it comes out (our 3 dishes came out within 3-5 minutes)

We went on Saturday night, absolutely appailing service, the staff were extremley rude and all they were concerned about was shutting the restaurant and going home. I would strongly recommend not visiting this establishment.

Had dinner here last night with my family to celebrate brothers birthday. Food was mediocre, not great. Woke up vomiting and am sick. My mum is also and brother and his girlfriend. Really disappointing and I can only assume they do not have good food safety. Avoid.

Decided to choose this place due to the good reviews and the constant stream of customers inside the restaurant. However, the food was appalling, the food was bland and had barely any seasoning except from salt. The meat tastes like it has been boiled before hand and then they had poured the sauce on top. The sauce itself was nothing exciting either. I’ve had better from the Chinese takeaway down the street. The prices were ridiculous for the quality of the food. On the other hand, the service was very attentive and we did receive our food quickly. The restaurant also was clean. It’s the shame the food wasn’t worth it. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this restaurant.

I ordered watermelon juice and it didn’t come then charged me for it

Food was great and the service. The only reason I gave this 4 out of 5 stars is the wine is ridiculously expensive. Cheapest bottle of house is £25. We paid £60 for 2 bottles of wine.

Expensive meal, stuck in a tight corner so close to the nearest table that our night was completely usurped by their conversation - not their fault, I’m sure they didn’t want us hearing every word they said either. We could not even have our own conversation. If they are going to charge high prices, then they should ensure a positive dining experience.

The dim sum menu is why I come here and it's consistently satisfying, even if it's not next level good

Ate here last year for our Christmas work do and it was honestly one of the nicest Chinese restaurants i've been to. We were waited on like royalty and the food without a doubt matched the service! The menu is vast and we certainly tried a fair chunk of it. The main highlights being the Dover sole, lobster and kung-pao chicken. Couldn't recommend enough!

My fav place for food, I could eat here everyday, get your money ready but is very worth it.

Inhospitable, unwelcoming, overly crowded, overly noisy, very rude staff, over priced. Staff just stood and glared at us making feel very uncomfortable. Felt very nauseous and tummy pains the next day. Definitely would not recommend.

Great meal. Portions were good so ordered too much 🤣all very tasty and service was fab. We didn't book and they made no fuss squeezing us in and the were busy. Obviously very popular as a queue formed at one point. Lovely evening. Well done.

Food was average, service was epic though!

Food tasted OK but overpriced for portion size. Satay platter is in accurate description. Service was nice until I said I didn't want to pay service charge which I did not see mentioned cleat on menus. Then made to feel guilty. I felt for portion size, large beer, portion of rice and service charge over 30 pounds for this not acceptable. Shame as Food was nice but won't be back as better Value for money elsewhere on this street.

A nice welcome, but all changed when we said we were driving and only wanted a soft drink. Food was good but curry was very watery. Once we had finished our food, we were chatting, staff cleared table, then came back and removed table cloth too. Think our time was up, unbelievable so rude will never go back.

This is the place I go for special occasions, because its a bit more on the expensive side, but its worth every penny! Their Dim Sum is so good, and they have alot to choose from. Staff are great, no matter how busy it is!
