China Garden in Wycombe

Sauces really weak, beef in black bean was just drenched soy, satay and sweet sour sauce like water, noodles and rice good, deep fried shredded beef weird (had to chuck away), haven't ordered from here in a while, would go somewhere else next time

Had a great meal from them last July - but this was a different story. The shrimp fried rice was dry and burnt - almost like sawdust.

Delivery late and I wasnt happy with the way it was delivered by a young woman and a man in another car shouting at her. And ofc the food was stone cold.

one of the best takeaways had in longtime. I've eaten here before but this was the best. never had bad meal from here. highly recommend to anyone

The good is normally good .. on a busy Friday night there’s been a few slow deliveries but I can only assume it’s busy which is fine. Tonight’s meal was exceptional.. good heat in black bean chicken meal and the ribs were perfectly cooked .. a 10/10 today when it’s normally an 8

The food was almost all awful. The pad thai was just a congealed mass of noodles, the egg fried rice was very dark, and tasted strange. The seaweed was chewy. We threw most of it away, and put it down to experience.

Everything was very salty. 2 people didn’t eat their food. Dumplings came without the sauce. Something black in the pad Thai, that no one could work out if it was edible!

Claimed they tried to deliver, but my doorbell is loud and I would have heard it. Wanted to send out food cold!! Refused to refund and just wanted to argue instead of trying to please the customer. Avoid!

Not impressed with the food. Our usual Chinese is collection only and I wasn’t well enough to drive to ordered from here but it was very disappointing. Not much flavour, just pepper and very watery sauces.

This, my first experience was not good, the platter was over cooked and not hot enough, the chicken and spare ribs were tough and over done and also needed to be hotter but prawns were good. Was my Birthday meal.

The food did not taste up to scratch very bland and no flavour unfortunately the sauce placed on top of the bag leaked all over the food (some of the people eating don't like sweet and sour sauce) which added to the frustration alot got wasted which isn't normal. First time ordering and will be the last I'd look elsewhere.

Without doubt the worst Chinese ever. Cremated duck, Egg burnt rice and Chicken and black bean consisted of mainly onion.

It was all over cooked .. dumplings were oily .. egg feed rice was brown, chicken in black bean was over cooked and ribs were fatty and thin on meat ..which was over cooked

The kebab is not a large like I ordered and the chicken is flaming hot I didn’t order spicy chicken - which my son won’t eat now all the food is cold and I have ordered these things many times before and know what they should be. I know you can do better

mostly good, slightly disappointed with the crispy noodle dishes as hardly any noodles and mostly watery vegetables layered up 3/4 of the box the rest was okay but wouldn’t order crispy noodles again

Best Chinese in High Wycombe. Especially their chili beef - ALWAYS CRISPY! Best egg fried rice too, properly seasoned. China garden is so consistent.

It was ok but missed an item, which you needed when you had duck with pancakes!

Need in black bean sauce was really salty and put me off the rest of the meal. Shame as food is usually quite average. Sorry but there is nowhere in High Wycombe that does a good Chinese takeaway. That’s obviously my personal opinion and taste.

I had great experience when I picked up my Chinese for collection, came in a lovely box which my kid really enjoyed opening it up and the food amazing, crispy chill beef was the best I had in a while

My favourite Chinese in the area. Food is always great and huge portions, you’ll wait a while on weekend evenings as expected but it’s worth it.

Just had some boiled prawns full of onions in water and sprinkle of spring onion. No thanks

Food was prepared and delivered fast however, this is by far the worst Chinese I have ever had. I wish I’d seen the reviews before ordering, they speak for themselves. Prawn toast had no prawns whatsoever! Some of the chicken looked undercooked and pink inside. I will never order from here ever again, there are other much better eateries in High Wycombe to chose from.

Was bland, cold and had to throw it away

Good delivery time. Food was bland and overcooked. No flavour in the crispy chilli beef ( garlic or chilli) just vegetables, too much soy sauce in everything and sweet and sour chicken balls a bit too greasy.

Delicious set menu from China Garden, delivered early, it was nice and hot and there was plenty of it. Excellent!

Starter was nice, but Thai green curry does not have pineapple and potatoes and the chow mein was dry and very little of any meat in it. Very disappointed.

Average fried rice at best - the precooked rice had disintegrated into small pellets during the stir frying process, indicating to me that it was not as fresh as it could have been. Broccoli in garlic was superb though and went some way to mask the rather average fried rice and chow mein.

Most of the food was over oily and left an unpleasant aftertaste. Ordered from here before and the food was good, so maybe an off day in the kitchen .

Lovely food. Hot and great quality. Once again great service. Delivery was on time maybe even a bit early which suited us.

The mini duck spring rolls were not brilliant as a little dry, the Spring rolls were well packed but no protein to be found rather like the Chicken Fu Yung, 2 modest bits of chicken. On the positive side the Ribs were really nice and all the food was very hot on arrival. All in all not bad but not as good as our usual supplier.

I wish I had checked this place out on Trip Advisor first. This is without doubt the WORST chinese food I have ever experienced not only in High Wycombe but in my entire life anywhere in the world. I order Special Fried Rice and Beef Chow Mein. The Fried rice was a brown glutinous mess and the Chow mein was as bad if not worse. The beef was virtually black in colour and so over cooked. I think it may have been cooked days in advance and then just added. The whole experience was absolutely aweful. How they can even think they can serve food as bad as this let alone get people to pay a lot of money for it is beyond me. I literally cannot put into words just how bad this place. I ended up giving the meal to my dog. This place should be totally avoided at all costs.

Very easy and good prices to order by phone. Gentleman was very friendly and efficient.

Satay beef on skewers were so disgusting. Tasteless and expensive. This is my first and last time ordering food from them. Waste of money.

The special fried rice was very spicy and smelt of curry powder and beef curry the sauce was very thick and spicy and the beef tasted off to the point we couldn’t eat all the food being honest the food was wasted and feel like we wasted money on food that ended up in the bin not impressed

The food arrived earlier than the time displayed in the app. Despite placing the order at 7:55 pm, the delivery time indicated between 8:15 and 8:30 pm, which seemed lengthy. However, the food was delivered by 7:50 pm, which was prompt. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy any of the dishes we ordered. While I understand it was Chinese food that we ordered l, the dishes were either excessively spicy or overly salty.

First time ordering and most of my order was missing, the food that I had received was good and warm however I’m so dissapointed that I only received some of it. Will be asking for a refund.

Delivery driver delivered to wrong address food was over 3hrs late had to ring restaurant and convince them that the driver hasn’t delivered food by him getting my door colour wrong and the colour of my skin proving that it was the wrong address he delivered it to. Rice was very dry but rest of the food was good

Ordered for my sons birthday not one order missed out arrived on time as well as the food still being hot! Very happy and the kids loved it too the chicken chow mein and special fried rice was one of the best I've had so far highly reccomend will be ordering again.

Nice food- very cheap price- chief gives good portion- chicken ball is lovely and tender, the chill need melts in your mouth, and curry good flavour, will definitely use these guys again. Best in whole high Wycombe

Absolutely DISGUSTING. Two of our main dishes we ordered didn’t come and the ones that did come were cold wet and soggy. We could not eat the food as the smell and taste was making us feel sick. Please save your money and order from ANY other Chinese place in high wycombe apart from this one. £40 down the drain and still hungry… ****ing joke

Ordered on just eat, received my food, cold and the wrong order when I rung and politely asked for a refund after spending a lot of money there I was told “chicken and noodles is £9 not that much money”, these people are rude and ill mannered, don’t waste your time

Although we ordered from here a few years ago without issues, they have gone so far down hill that we will never use them again. Late delivery, missing items, and a chicken curry that barely had any chicken in it.

Very poor service. Took 2 1/2 hours to deliver and then half the order missing. Chased several times with no response. Unfortunately, not the first time this has happened, but will now be the last for us.

I Wouldnt give them any stars but Last week I ordered a takeaway from here like I always do, ive been a customer for 5 years. I placed the order via their website at 2:45 still waiting at 5pm still no food, rang them numerous times they said i hadnt placed an order i gave them my order number but they still said no. Ive asked for a refund several times this week and they are refusing to give me my money back. The man i spoke to on the phone was very rude. Will not be ordering from here anymore. They still owe me my refund.

Ordered for collection, got there and was told it was cash or bank transfer. I asked if I could order the food online but obviously collect the food while there, man mumbled something I could not understand. I ordered online and showed him I had completed the online order. The name told me "No", he wanted a bank transfer. He kept repeating "bank transfer". I explained that I have ordered it online for collection. He then began to refuse to give me the food, telling me that the online order was for another business. Not for his business, and that he wanted cash or bank transfer. At this point I stated I would report him to the police. The sign outside says china garden, the website says china garden, the website has their address and phone number......so it must be his company. After I said I would report them for fraud and would contact the police, the man handed me, my food and ordered me to "just get out". PS, this is not my first issue with them. On the 26/08, i ordered food online. They called to cancel the order stating issues with their kitchen. I never received a refund despite calling and speaking to Naaem twice and being promised a refund. They can keep that 26pounds that they clearly need (as they have not refunded it to me) and I hope they choke on it.

Please do not waste your money. On 8th October I ordered £60 worth of food as a treat to celebrate my daughter’s new job. Order was placed at 6pm via JustEat. Delivery time was estimated to be 7:30 as they were busy. Fine. 7:30 JustEat app shows food delivered. It wasn’t. I telephoned China Garden for an update to be told food was leaving in 5 mins. Again, no problem. 8pm and guess what…. still NO food. I call again to be told leaving in 5 mins. Getting annoyed at this point. Yes the food is later than expected but the guy on the phone really couldn’t give a s**t and was quite rude. Eventually, food arrives at 9:15 and guess what… some of the order was missing. I rang to complain and they said they wouldn’t deliver missing food. And I should make a claim via JustEat. Starving, I decided to serve up and eat what we had. I then discover the chicken wasn’t cooked properly …. Still pink in the middle!! Have reported to local authority food safety and complained to JustEat. Please avoid!

I ordered my deliver at 17.09, i called at 17.22 to make sure they have my order because many times i have had to call after an hour and they say they haven't received it, they confirmed they had my order. Great i think! 18.15 I call to see how long will my order be, he said about another 45 minutes, i said why didn't you say it was going to be nearly 2 hours when i called. I said thats totally unacceptable, i said i will cancel the order and how do i get my money back as i have pre paid, he said go back on the website and select cancel. I go back on the website and guess what no cancel button, i called back he said you need to email us, i'm like you are joking aren't you, i said there is no email address on here. He said add a note, i was saying there is no where to add a note. he said leave it a while. I asked his name he said it was Jake, but not sure that is even true. so i have no food and no refund. Every time we order there is an issue, the only reason why in the past we continued to use them was because the food was good. However I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN i will be going there tomorrow to get my refund

After an hour of waiting we were told the restaurant cancelled the order. Luckily via deliveroo so we got a refund.

This take away is 1.8 miles from my house. Once I had the confirmation it was on it's way I was surprised it hadn't arrived half an hour later. When it finally did it was cold. No point in replying to me unless it's an explanation from your delivery driver...

Been ordering from here for years and never let me down. Does what it says on the tin and the food is great. Can wait a little while but know when to order and it comes very quickly

Ordered on just eat, £70 order. No food came. Even had the cheek to say on the just eat app it had been delivered. Just eat saying they don't give refunds so now have to mess around doing a charge back claim..scam artists both just eat and china garden.

1 star is far too generous, every time we order the delivery is always over 45 minutes late, when you call they always say "there is a problem" the last order the food containers were obviously reused and dirty!! AVOID!!!!

our food arrived after an hour, we opened it up and it sauce was spilt all over our food and box. we then discovered two dishes and two sauces were missing after we already paid for it, the men on the phone were trying to tell me that i was lying and the manager was disgusting and said that i was lying even though i had already paid for my food, for food i didn’t even receive. they then said they’ll send the missing food but of course never showed. terrible customer service and 0 respect

The food was nice but wasn't hot on arrival as the delivery took over 2 hours. The staff are very rude and lie on the phone when you ask for updates on why the delivery is taking so long. We wouldn't have minded if they were honest about delays but we kept being told over several calls that the driver had left, the driver was at the top of our road etc which were all lies. It's a shame as it used to be very good and we always used to order from them. We won't be ordering from them again.

So we have been ordering for over a year always been great. Tonight we ordered a take away, delivery guy great! I the received our order minus a dish. Our crispy beef was burnt. The chap on the phone questioned me and said his chef definitely added the missing dish. I’m sorry but I have ordered a lot over the last 12-18 months, why argue over a peen toast, just take it off the bill and say sorry! We will not be going back😡

Honestly, the worst experience I’ve ever had with any take away service. Please do not order from this restaurant. They have hundreds of 1 star reviews, it only takes a quick google, and I wish I’d listened. Their staff took my money yet never sent out the food. When I contacted them, they promised to call back and never did. I called back two days later and Ali promised to sort out my issue and call back that evening. He also promised to send out my order there and then. Not only did he never send out the food (for the second time) he never called back either. They steal your money and completely rip you off. I’ve taken advice from citizens advice and trading standards, when approaching China garden with the issues, they told me to F off. Citizens advice explained how many times China garden are in breach of so many laws, and apparently it isn’t a one off. Please don’t order from here, there’s so many legitimate and hard working small businesses that deserve our support. Unfortunately I’ve been made aware that China garden isn’t one of these and they aren’t operating a business in line with the law.

I visited High Wycombe to see friends and we decided to get a takeaway. Starter ... RAW Service ... VERY POOR Overall .... VERY DISAPPOINTING

This was the first time of using this Chinese for a takeaway delivery and what a fantastic experience, from the original telephone order, free delivery and the amazing food - couldn’t fault any of it! It was my Husband’s Birthday and we placed a large order and requested time of delivery which was here on the dot! We will definitely use you again in the future. Thanks so much for making our day, we even have some leftovers for another meal! 😍😍😍

We ordered Chinese from China garden and we received our food with the lids all broken , which is contaminating , the food was distgusting

Loved the food and it tasted great, but this time, the delivery majorly delayed , lots of phone calls and in reflection was more hassle than it was worth. Not the first time we have used them and have had hassle, but, gave them the benefit of the doubt, and all times, good food but major hassle. Not sure the great food is worth the hassle next time.

Takeaway took 2 hours - estimated time was 45-60 mins (bad enough!). Restaurant is 3m away - 20 minute drive. Phoned to chase after 1hours 10 m. Was told it’d just left. Phoned again half an hour later - they said it was about to leave and denied 1st phone call. So someone lied. So hungry! Food eventuality arrived - ok nothing special. Highly unprofessional.

Today we placed an order from this restaurant, but they messed up with my dish (King Prawn with Chinese Mushroom & Bamboo Shoots) and forgot to add the prawns, which made a dish a bit bland since the prawns are the main ingredient. My husband called to complain and they promptly send another dish (this time with prawns) + more prawn crackers + a big tub of Haggen Daas ice cream! That was very sweet of them and I'm happy to spread the word, since they have been our favourite Chinese takeaway since the beginning of the pandemic, not to mention one of the very very few that do delivery at lunchtime. Thank you for being so considerate and caring China Garden, we are firmly loyal to you and your lovely food (at lunchtime ;)

The food tastes worse than a microwave meal would. It is more expensive than other takeaways yet is probably the worst in High Wycombe. I've tried it a few times now and will definitely be avoiding in future as it has hit rock bottom.
