Chimneys Hooton Wirral in Cheshire West and Chester

I love the atmosphere the service and the good food. I took the family there for New Year’s Day I went with my friends on Thursday and I am also taking my family tomorrow for dinner.

Lovely food for a great location

New years eve dinner was delightful

Last minute decision at midday to go out for lunch. Table booked enroute, sitting comfortably by 12:25. Prompt attention from friendly staff. Food was well presented, the bacon chop and pineapple very good though the triple cooked chips not to my taste. Desserts (cheese cake and Bakewell )were delicious and also requested vegan custard. Young waiter dealt with requests patiently and professionally.

Lovely pub with a cosy vibe, We dined in the conservatory area which felt a little compacted.

Staff are always fabulous. The Sunday Trio roast was nice except for the roast beef - full of gristle. Even the steak knife that I asked for couldn’t cut through it. For some reason you have changed your chicken skewers, you used to use thigh meat which were always moist and delicious - you’ve switched to using breast meat which I have tried 3 times so far and each time have been dried up and awful. Because of this my friends and I no longer eat here during the week because the chicken skewers was the dish we ordered.

Food was fantastic, two of the best pub grub dishes I’ve ever had (scallop/prawn starter and chicken parm) staff were really lovely but there wasn’t enough of them, bar was slow and took a while to bring bill

The room was cold and drafty, i had to put my coat and scarf back on whilst in there. We ordered sunday roast. Service was very slow, eventually meals arrived, it was very cool, roast potatoes were like black hard rocks, obviously heated up from the day before, as was the veg, no yorkshire pudding on the plate. Veg pie was dense and dry. We spoke to the lovely young waiter, who was himself shocked when he looked at the state of the roast potatoes. He went away and swiftly was back with a dish of 2 hot Yorkshire puddings and several lovely fresh hot roast potatoes. Which is what should have come out in the first place, not cold, burnt hard ones. The roasties where then the only hot, nice part of the meal. The desserts were nice, but you cant really go too wrong with frozen desserts can you. Weve had a couple of bad meals at chimneys over the years but this was just disgusting, and we will never go back, and will not recommend . How could they serve up such a dreadful plate of food when they obviously had decent fresh stuff there?????

So so so good, our waitress was called Laura and she was just fab, so so friendly and so professional. Nothing was to much of an ask for her, I have two young girls and she interacted with them and kept them smiling and happy which is so nice for me. I also had my Nan with me and at the end of the meal we got a coffee each (my Nan asks for her coffee cremated wherever we go and will send the coffee back all the time because it’s not hot enough) we explained all this to Laura (and apologised😂) when we ordered the coffee and she was so understanding of it all and got the barista to make it perfect first time which is impressive! Service was really fast aswell with both food and drink, we also go offered a big jug of tap water the moment we sat down which again was so nice, food was beautiful and good selection on the menu and food was piping hot. My espresso at the end that I had was lovely coffee. All in all it was amazing! Really impressed. But massive thank you to Laura for making our experience unforgettable!

We decided to have the Christmas menu. It was perfect, food lovely. Everything was just right.

Front of house could have been more welcoming. Food service was excellent so was the food quality.

Lydia our server was very friendly and attentive, the food was absolutely gorgeous, nice warm cozy room to sit in, cant wait to come back 🤗

22/12/24 We had lunch here today and it was fabulous family came in from Manchester and have said they will return just to have Sunday dinner here in future, staff were brilliant could not have asked for better, well done, nice to enjoy a meal out for a change highly recommend

Harry was an excellent waiter he remembered us coming before so he knew everything we wanted. Our food was also good.

Went today and the food was delicious. There were 16 of us and we all felt the same. Service was great, staff really pleasant and attentive. It was really busy with the run up to Christmas but staff were chilled and calm and food was served well on time. Would certainly recommend.

Disappointed with service although food very good. Staff crammed everyone into the bar area, although restaurant had a few tables taken. With large parties booked into bar area compounding matters with staff being over-welcomed

Waitress Ruby was lovely. The young lad was also really chirpy and friendly who served us drinks and foods. The food was nice.

Staff very helpful and very well mannered, did not eat only had hot drink but nothing was toouch trouble for them.

Absolutely lovely food. Service was impeccable. Served by Matt would 100% return again absolute credit to the company couldn’t go above and beyond considering they were busy at the time of our visit.

Was looking for a place to grab an evening meal, walked in on spec and shown straight to a table even though it was obviously very busy and very full. Nice atmosphere, very nice staff and the food was excellent, I can strongly recommend the belly pork with mash, yum, yum, a little trek from my hotel but very much worth the evening walk here. Hope I visit this area again and will eat here again for definite. Very well done to the Chimneys and its staff.

We got brought someone else's mains while waiting for our starter . The mains arrived without sides, we had eaten the mains by the time we saw any staff no sides materialised. Staff informed, no recompense Absolutely awful staff, disorganised, terrible food and over priced, avoid at Sunday lunch

Even though the restaurant was under staffed and extremely busy our server was attentive, friendly and apologetic even though it wasn't her fault.

Very disappointed Turkey Roast dinner the carrots and veg were old. Broccoli was yellow. Roast potatoes were nice. But the meal on the whole should have been replaced.

First visit and it was very good, both the food and the service. Perhaps just turn off the music so we can hear each other??

Had a lovely experience at The Chimneys. We had lunch and our server was Matt. He was polite and quick with our service. He was very attentive asking us how our food was and if we needed anything else. It was a pleasure.

Took an hour to get our main after 3 people had starters. Wife had a starter of mushrooms with blue cheese. Crusty cob, very soggy bread.

A great place. Food was outstanding and Mark was brilliant!!

Went here for r lunch, after ordering we were clearly forgotten about, and had to find someone to remind them of r order, we ordered chicken kebabs with flat bread, when it arrived the chicken was bone dry, we didn't get flat bread, it was more like pizza pieces and greasy, diffently won't be going back!

Mark who looked after us throughout the evening, he was so friendly, we were extremely well looked after. It was a very busy evening for the staff, however we received excellent service.

Good food served in a cosy environment by attentive staff (Mark and colleagues). Altogether a very pleasant time

I have visited the chimneys 4 times now and everytime it has been spectacular 👌 Food is amazing, staff are extremely attentive and friendly and it has such a warm atmosphere..everytime I'm in the area I will always visit.

Me and my girlfriend came here for lunch/dinner. It's absolutely amazing the Signature Burger It's delicious with a side of grilled halloumi what more could you ask for, my girlfriend had the ribeye steak with beef dripping sauce she said it was fabulous 👌 👏 finished off with a banofee choux bun what a way the finish the meal it was the best pudding I've ever had, Jay who served us was really nice and catered to our every need even asking the chef for some garlic mayo what a legend, I'm afraid you will be seeing more of us from now on. Thank you so much The Chimneys.

Did used to be a very nice friend place with good quality food We had the breakfast and the sausages were very well done you could have knocked a person out with it, So no i wouldn't recommend Chimneys to any of me family or friends Sorry it was absolutely disgusting A Dean 👎👎👎👎

Wow what an absolute mess today (Sun 6th Oct) I eat here at least once a week and normally rave to friends how good the food and service is. Not today, Unfriendly staff, Untidy and the food was so so bad. Sort it out chimneys your standards are way better than this.

What a massive difference today’s visit was. Chimneys the wait and the food was a complete let down. Sm it the usual fab service . Won’t be back after today . £100 wasted.

Came in with my girlfriend from the USA to show her some British pub food. Went for the weekend treat 3 course deal which for me was a tandoori chicken skewer then the chateaubriand between two of us and then a chocolate brownie for pudding. Everything we had was absolutely perfect and a massive shout out to Mark who served us and the Chef, Tom who were both brilliant for my girlfriends black pepper allergy. One of the best pub dinners I've had!

10/10 stars! Amazing service, beyond delicious food, and wonderful at accomadating my food allergies! Thank you, Server Mark and Chef Tom!!!

Good food, friendly staff , plenty of parking. Just enjoyable

What a lovely building, food was excellent and good value for money. The atmosphere was a bit stale, but it was the afternoon. The waitress who served our food was lovely and very polite. Unfortunately, the waiter who sat us and took our drink order seemed lost or very distracted. Had to ask for menus. But overall great experience and would definitely return.

Came out with my family for a small snack which turned into a fabulous evening with lots of food and wine! Can’t fault the servers April and Katie, they were fantastic. My only little niggle was the first bottle was served barely chilled and it was one of the most expensive at nearly £40 a bottle, that’s a learning for the bartender who should know better . Luckily it was quickly rectified and we ordered 3 more! Don’t think we got everything we ordered, olives or the pate but a wonderful night all in all Fantastic highly recommend this place

Love this place! Used it as a meeting point for a Tinder date and the dimly lit car park was spot on for a bit of fattening desert...if you get my drift! Could do with a bin in the car park though! I almost got caught by the wife having to bring my....erm...litter home!

What a lovely place this is! Two sides to this place, restaurant food and pub food, we chose to sit in the pub side after a walk around Cheshire Oaks designer outlet. I needed a bit of comfort when sitting, and this place has that. Log fires are lit here in the winter months, hence the name The Chimneys. I ordered Moroccan spiced chicken breast skewers with an extra garlic king prawns skewer, which comes with a side slaw and triple cooked chips. I can not recommend this place enough. The food was amazing, as well as the service.
