Chicken diner in Islington

lived in the area for over 20 yrs and have visted the place often but it has had a change of management and staff. Today I witness a staff member grab a handful of salad (corn ) out of the salad bar and put shove his hand into his mouth as if he has at home...All the staff are indian and I know it is the culture to eat with your hands and not cutlery but this is a place of work and to do so in front of customers and then just wipe your hand on your apron is plain nasty. If this is the lack of hygiene from a member of staff in front of the shop I dread to think what happens when we dont see whats happening..when I said out loud " I dont believe you did that" the member of staff replied " no problem brother" I wont be eating there again and im just sorry I didnt have a photograph of him doing it to report them to the food hygiene board.

I ordered a bean burger before my friends ordered there food and it came 20mins later by that time my friends had finished there food, no apology from the owner when food came or when leaving the shop, very poor management and service, avoid if possible.

So Being a local I have been going here for over 15 years Barry the owner had a great quality food establishment with the most welcoming staff , but recently there had been a shift in management and since then the standards have completely dropped. So today I go to order 10 wings 1 chips and quarter pounder meal, So the manager fries chips before putting the burger on the grill which I Mentioned and he refused to do me a fresh one when my burger was ready, then while my burger is cooking another guy is scraping around my burger flicking all the grit all over my burger , they still served it to me, being a regular I was shocked at this drop in standard. Then I go home in the rain to find out they gave me 5 wings short. So as you would when your kids are hungry to eat I went back to get my 10 wings fresh and chips fresh. So to this the manager denies everything and becomes incredibly aggressive towards me and starts punching the equipment and even threatens to fight me. To this I step back and let him deny everything. There was however another worker who handled the situation professionally and gave me my 10 wings and made fresh fries, but the manager becoming violent was absolutely unacceptable and denying any wrongdoing. I won't be coming back here to spend hundreds a year and will also tell all my hundreds of local friends and family not to go there as the hygiene standards are so poor , so thanks to the manager you have now lost thousands of pounds of custom and with that attitude you will lose more loyal customers. Shocking absolutely shocking. I will persue this further and will be reporting to the police about the threats he made towards me, and will definitely report to EHO as these bad standards can kill someone.

Ate here several times. The chicken burgers were good and they provided lots of fries. The meals were not to expensive and filling. The staff was friendly. Good for a quick meal.

Have to say the food from this place was great and inexpensive considering their location, could not fault them or the quickness of the service

the location of the restaurant is good, near by bus stops and train station, also near by hotels. i recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Best meal we had in London. God and tasty wrap with chicken and salat of your choice, and chips on the side. And cheap as well. Under 10£ for 2 persons.

Good food, very abounding portions and very good price. Staff is friendly and provide service very fast. You can eat there or take away open 11am-11pm!

Got a chicken fillet burger meal from here for £4 and guy working said he'd throw in 3 spicy wings for an extra pound. Good sized portion, good chicken and the young guy working is funny and asked where we're from.

I was thrilled to find this place directly opposite my hotel. The food is pretty tasty and ridiculously cheap and it was ideal for picking up a quick meal on my way back from work. The staff were very nice.

I would never recommend this to anyone. If you want to go to a fast food, then McDonald's or Burger King are better. Hygienic condition really poor. Bad quality.

I went for a takeway. They have a good variety and generous portions - not very healthy food, mostly fried stuff - but if that's what you are looking for, this joint offers good value for money

Stumbled upon this gem on my way back to the hotel I was staying at. Even though the prices are low, the food is pretty good. There was so much that I barely finished the burger. But what makes this place stand out is the perfect customer service. As soon as you enter, you feel like you're part of the family, that's how friendly the guys at Chicken Diner are. The boss is a witty gramps, always smiling and joking around. 10/10 definitely visiting this place again.

Poulet, poisson ou agneau uniquement. Pas de carte bancaire, espèces uniquement. Pas cher mais rapport qualité/prix cohérent. Pratique (en face de l'hotel), rapide, assez copieux. Sauces industrielles, poivrons marinés industriels, frites industrielles... Le tout n'est pas mauvais, mais je n'ai rien trouvé de vraiment bon. Bien pour se nourrir, mais pas pour se faire plaisir.

Went here first evening in London, as it was across the road from our hotel.Decent food, lamb ribs were kind of fatty and hard to eat, but the chicken was very good, and so were the chips. Meal was cheap, less than a tenner for the two of us.Definitely a good place if you want some good chicken for pretty cheap.

Whenever I'm up for a bit of crap food this is the local chicken shack. Pretty standard affair, with the slight difference that there is a sit down area and a slightly more varied member. If you want chicken and chips then you are Romeo. Well cooked chips and good standard chicken. They will also serve you up kebabs with naan and salad on a plate which is pretty decent. Summary: Manaman's hungry, manaman eats.
