Chicken Cottage in Croydon

It’s a shame, they were the first halal chicken shop and now have become the worst. Food was not fresh and the taste has changed, not in a good way, over the years. Hardly go they but thought lest try again as it’s been a while, wish we hadn’t gone there. Food was bland, no flavour and they changed the wings, which used to be really good. Poor

Hey, I ordered some stuff inside the wing have blood and not proper clean. One off my friend he’s said the chicken is HMC.

Usually the food is good but I went today and the fillet burgers I got were completely raw. I had to throw it all away.

This is the best chicken shop in London they have amazing food amazing serving times and are generally amazing overall service , their menu is diverse and is the best in the area. 10/10 i would recommend to anyone .

I ordered through Deliveroo and when the food arrived the chicken smelt very bad that I have had to throw the food away. I have been calling constantly and they are not picking the phone up and when I am ringing now the phone has been switched off. Such poor service and now I can’t get rid of the sense of smell as it was disgusting. If anyone that has eaten chicken cottage today I hope you don’t get food poisoning.

I’ve been there 4 times this week always had the boneless box with extra strips and extra fillet burger , and every time something missing and for the last 2 days me extra fillet burger missing, you go to counter they say all done , take there word for it , as there is so many poxy staples in the bag you trust everything there , Well the young lad that on tonight the Sunday 4 th August 2024 is no good I’m afraid chicken cottage as every time he there my order plus plenty of my friends who always use you orders are wrong or missing, go back to your original staff or loose loads of business as this has now become a massive talk amongst Norbury that your going down hill with this new staff that in today orders are always wrong or not complete , I will continue to eat there as your food is top notch and amazing and flavour great but your loosing lots of people I know through this Many thanks

Food is awful I had stomach main for over week eating there food no standards chicken cottage really needs to pre vet who they onboard as there franchisee Partner as the owner here is really terrible no respect or interpersonal skills when speaking to customers very despicable, unfriendly person, if you have issue with the food he will just ignore you and don't value customer satisfaction really spiteful person charges extra just for sauce and sides which are not even worth the penny in the beginning by far the worse branch of chicken cottage solely down to the owner who ruins the aura and food standards yet again to the owner as he don't uphold to standards or value feedback which goes on deaf ears please chicken cottage sort your branch with someone more qualified than an under skilled, incompetent individual who has no sympathy for customers other than charge excessively for a under cooked food its urgent appeal to the public for health & safety best sure if you want to eat here

It’s says open till 2 am but it was closed 11.30pm we have been there 3 times so far.worst service ever . Try grilled next door. Best service and valuable price. Try to avoid if possible.

Won’t give a single star if there was an option. Worst experience ever. Food was cold and tastes bad. It was surely on the rack for a long time and rather than discarding it, these stingy beggars decided to sell it. The wings were cold and spicy. One Sri Lankan or perhaps South Indian guy was really rude unbelievable. He was fighting and arguing with every customer. He was also fighting with a man came in the restaurant because he had blocked his car with his motorbike. The man was really polite and asked him nicely to move his bike so that he can take his car out. He started fighting with him and said I am not going to move you reverse and leave. The man told him you have no manners and common sense that you blocked my car by parking your bike only few inches away, be considerate to the others next time to avoid inconvenience to innocent people. The Indian guy was keep screaming and shouting all sorts of abusive words. The owner of the shop came and was also rude rather than explaining his staff to be considerate or feel embarrassed of a shameful act. The shop floor was very dirty with food and tissues all over. I asked for the sauce and the owner said it’s extra cost or eat what we gave you, very rude. Never again very bad franchise all over. Chicken cottage is a well known respected name due to this I first time walked in but never again. Chicken cottage main owners should take serious actions to avoid their name being spoiled due to these ignorants. Avoid avoid at any costs or Go at your own risk of having a food poison or being disrespected

Every time I order food my son finds hair in the burger. Looks like staff are not putting headgear on to stop hair dropping in food. This happens every time I order and then he doesn’t want to eat it

This Norbury Chicken Cottage Branch is shame or Big Black spot for Chicken Cottage name. Because they charge Chicken Cottage price but they serve us very very cheap stuff and tasteless things. Also this Norbury branch management or staff making worst food. Lots of time when I take away food bun bread is not fresh and also if food is over cook or near to burn 🔥 they don’t care. They pack like this. Please please avoid this Norbury Branch. We have lots of time very very bad experience. Staff is untrained or may be cheap labour. Staff is also rude and language issues. Not worth it.

Warning to all considering Chicken Cottage in Norbury: the facade might fool you, but what I witness behind the establishment is nothing short of a horror show! Rotting flesh, piles of garbage, and who knows what else festering in plain sight. The utter neglect for hygiene is a ticking time bomb. It's beyond me how they haven't been shut down or caused a serious health incident. Eat there at your own peril!

Overpriced food. They changed the staff and this chicken cottage died. I used to come here since 2019, but this is my last time ever. Anyway I don’t live in Norbury. They’re asking £9 for half pounder mean with barely any chips. £3 for difference between quarter and half pounder. Very poor service and quality. It wasn’t like that before. Disappointed.

Ordered chips and all the portions were overcooked and old.. inedible! Do not recommend.. my usual is the Streatham Hill one which is much better. Avoid the Norbury branch.

My burger bun had a big patch of mould on it. For £8+ burger meal this is insanely bad quality

Really bad experience ordered 2 Chicken fillets burger. One was was with chicken breast second one with chicken tigh with skin on and was looking like you just removed the bones and put in the burger. All pictures are sent already to uber eats as i used this platform to order my food this time. Order was late but guys dont do it to your customers. Been working 11 years in the kitchen but that what you did is unacceptable.... will never order again there

Every time I go to the chicken cottage in norbury, the chicken seems to have been cooked a while ago. It is hard and dry. Whenever I ask when the fresh chicken will be ready, they always respond with 30-40min. The last time I collected, it left me and a few members of my family pain in our stomach. The price has generally been going up, and quality is going down. I will be exploring other chicken shops such as chicken world. They charge extra for chip sprinkle and chilli sauce. Yet the tooting franchise it is free. There is no consistency left. I hope the owners of this franchise look into the quality of service and quality of food they are selling to their customers.

Ordered a grilled chicken rap meal, was given a normal fried chicken rap meal instead then had to go back to exchange which was hassle as it is difficult to park around there. The chips seemed like they had been re-fried which I ended up throwing away as they were too stale for anyone to eat.

The burgers and chicken are too greasy and salty and the overall quality is awful.

I find there food fresh and tasty

There chicken wings and burgers are mid to high level depending on the person making them. I found this specific branch of chicken cottage to have far smaller portion sizes than other branches such as tooting. The prices here are also higher than smaller fast food chains and so If there is another fast food shop close by I would rather go there.

Chips like rock, fried multiple times im guessing because they were just sitting there for a long time they just refried them to heat them up poor service from the older guy.

Very rude and dishonest staff, one of the workers had the police called on them for lying and stealing a £50 note that a customer paid with which the worker and owner denied receiving. On top all their food is very bad in quality and overpriced, they even got a 1 out of 5 for their hygiene rating. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there.

Ordered from here through just eat. When the food arrived, the beans were almost frozen, had to heat them up in the microwave. Almost all of the chips were burnt, cold and tasted awful. Burger and chicken strips were ok. I rang them to complain about the chips and they refused to listen to me and kept talking over me. They did not give me a partial refund for the chips. Do. Not order from here. Staff were rude and did not apologise or offer compensation for the inedible chips. Will not be ordering from here again.

Horrible food,it’s not piri chicken but cooked chicken .I wouldn’t give this food even to my dog.£3 for 2 slices of cucumber and 2 tiny tomatoes.i will never buy again and no I don’t recommend

All three burgers was raw and chewy, when cut through the middle there was a massive blob (see picture) of something in the middle. Either undercooked or very old chicken. The chips were soggy along with the middle of them still being frozen cold. The bbq and peri peri wings were cold and could tell they were not fresh. The least worst thing they did was to get the drinks wrong. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE, you’ll end up with a stomach ache from the raw food they send. Luckily got a refund from Ubereats.

Value for money! This place is absolutely good for fried chicken wings and the staff is well maintained and trained even. Especially the guy on the till named Ajmal was really welcoming and polite. We wanted to have some other spices in food than regular, he understood the confusion regarding the order and even told the staff to do so. We were delighted by his customer service and behavior towards us! And their chicken is Halal in case you care.

Long ago they were used to be good. Maybe now management have changed. But now they are extremely rude worse food then ever. Manger doesn’t even allow customer to speak and understand complaints. Food standard is very poor. They sale old chicken and te use their old salads.

I normally go here with my friends to get our fav peri peri chips we love the peri peri chips but the lady at front dest is extremely rude and doesnt seem to like many of the customers. Like i get it you gotta work for money but she just cuts her eye at some customers and stares at others to the point of uncomfortability

Great little fast food outlet, very reasonable price for set of cheese burger, drinks and fries at £2.50. Quite meal, 4 table..mainly outlet is doing take away services or delivery.. halal outlet as well as plenty of Muslim customer patron too. Counter services wise is just normal ,nothing to shout about... wish they put extra sauce on the table or counter...

Me and my friend went there last week asking for peri peri chips and they didn’t have peri peri salt. We came back this week and yet still they didn’t have peri peri salt. ON TOP OF THAT my friend and I both got food poisoning from the food! I don’t think they are hygienic AT ALL. I’ve been sick for 3 days straight and my friend also. Disgusted.

Typical fast-food place. Specialises in chicken but does an excellent vegetable wrap. Meal deal is good value, boothes to sit in if you don't want to take away.

Food taste good but I must say their staff need proper training on how to do customer service. Its just not good. Counter staff don't even bother to look at you while taking order. No smile at all. Looks like they are forced to do thd job.
