Hugely disappointing experience. Location and setting is beautiful and this place has so much potential but that’s where it ends. Upon arrival the pond at the hotel was frozen over just to give you an idea of how cold it was. When we got the room the heating was turned off. It was small and dated, lacked home comforts and had an electric shower with water that trickled out. The room upgrade was better although still cold and took over an hour to warm up. Lunch was a frozen pizza for £13 and a pint for £7.75 in a 3* hotel…… The evening meal luckily was a lot better. Breakfast was awful. Hot tub was cold and we got told they were having problems with it when we complained but no one told us that before we went in it. What was supposed to be a nice night away was spoilt by a lack of attention on what I would consider key fundamentals.

GRIM is the word I’d used to describe the whole hotel. It is certainly not spa standard, going to your local swimming baths would be a better experience. The ‘spa’ is disgusting. Wet dirty towels in every corner of the pool area, discarded slippers everywhere, toilet seat hanging off, changing room rubbish over all corners of the floors, nobody is keeping it clean clearly. Mould on walls. Spa Hot tub outside broken and unusable. Dirty green marquee tent and rubbish / discarded pipes just everywhere you look. We had the Dales room with hot tub… which you can’t turn down from 40 degree temperature so again, unusable. Shoe holder filled with stinking cigarette butts. Furniture ripped / tatty and needs replacing in rooms. Whoever painted the bathroom did a landlord special! Our bath towels had big holes in corners?! Sink leaking all over the floor in the bathroom Shower spraying out from the metal coil in every direction. PAT test certificate stickers all a few years out of date and some non existent. I ended up looking at this only because of the sheer state of the place. Spoke to 3 staff members who agreed the place is like faulty towers. We have stayed here years and years ago, gutted we didn’t look at the reviews before we booked again as it’s certainly not what you expect from the photos. The whole place needs a huge overhaul of modernisation, redecoration and maintenance. The only area kept well is reception and dining area. We were only offered half our money back, unable to drive elsewhere as we were by then just over the legal units to drive. Breakfast - hard, overcooked sausages. Clearly just been sat under a heat lamp at the back. Heart goes out to the staff who have to work here because there’s no clear management and maintenance going on. Would never stay again. Such a shame for such a great location for hikes and scenery.

What can I say about Chevin Country Park is the place is magical and so are the staff there, me and my partner had our first anniversary there and was treat like family we had a lovely massage from Sue and her banter and spiritual energy was amazing We was snowed in and Ralph bless plus all the staff absolutely grafted through thanks to you all and thanks to Ralph for keeping the paths clear Also to mention the dining was amazing and the lady who was serving one evening her banta was allso amazing, I don't know her name but she mentioned the only thing that wasn't on the menu was chocolate tart, when she came back we ordered the chocolate tart and that was it from there, the banter went full flow Overall Chevin is truly an amazing place and it's even better than the photos

Firstly , the one star is for the waitress , she was the only star. We booked for a festive Sunday lunch and were told, when handed the menu , there was no turkey , surely a staple of the festivities . So not a great start and worse was to come , the beef was acceptable but the Yorkshire pudding was cold as were all the vegetables , they also tasted like they had been cooked much earlier and left to go cold, just like the dining room , cold. The Christmas pudding was barely warm , as was the coffee . The house wine at £29.50 and a 330ml bottle of Peroni at £6.80 explained why there is no drinks menu online and also a good reason why there is no review option on their website. We did not complain because we were paying guests of well meaning friends and did not want to spoil their day . A food disaster and finally no running water , hot or cold , in the ladies toilet.

Our Sunday lunch at The Chevin Hotel was a delightful escape! The food was absolutely superb - cooked to perfection, bursting with fresh flavors and high-quality ingredients. The desserts were just as impressive, leaving us very happy and full 😊 The hotel itself has a charming, relaxing ambiance. The scent of pine instantly transported us to a peaceful haven, a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The staff were all very nice, We were particularly impressed with Melissa, who provided exceptional service in the restaurant. Her attentiveness, professionalism, and willingness to answer all our questions made our experience even more enjoyable.

Staff very attentive and polite. Outside area very relaxing and great to enjoy a drink and relax. Food extremely poor. We had a la carte menu and the food was appalling. The risotto was over cooked, flavour less and looked and tasted awful, I couldn't eat it. The steak was chewy and the chips over cooked. Staff apologised and offered us the dessert. We had a cheese board that wasn't too bad. I don't recommend the place for food but just for a drink and siting the outside area looking at the lake.

2 stars and that’s only because we had fun anyway because we made the best of it. The main problem is that the spa is FILTHY. It’s tired which is fine but everything is gross - especially the changing rooms. You don’t expect much if you’ve come on a groupon but you should be able to shower without getting other people’s hair in your toes. Gip! The service is okay and the staff are friendly. It was probably once really nice here, the location is good and the grounds are pretty. There are lots of other places that offer this sort of thing - go there instead.

My best friend got married here and it was the most beautiful wedding! From setting up the day before to the end of the actual wedding, it went seamlessly. The staff were incredible and so helpful. A special shout out to Kiera who knew what was needed before we even knew on the wedding day! She was just amazing! The room was great, and overlooked the lake which was stunning 😍 Couldn’t fault it one bit and I can’t wait to return for a relaxing spa day!

Went for Spa day and lunch. Three out of five spa facilities not working, so just a cold pool and sauna. No explanation on arrival or compensation offered. Thankfully the weather was sunny so we spent most of the afternoon outside relaxing once we found two loungers without bird poo on them, but kind of pointless paying for this so called experience. I really enjoyed my lunch which was a Mediterranean platter, my wife did not as gluten free vegetarian options were very limited and she had a simple dry sandwich. Price of coffee is extortionate, £9 for two is simply unforgivable. The staff were lovely but sadly the place is poorly managed. Overall, much room for improvement, to say the least.

Attended a wedding and it is a beautiful venue, but really needs an update and general clean around, the rooms was dusty and the outside areas in parts was very dated, the staff tried there very best and the ones that was on went above and beyond, but they was very understaffed for the amount of guests attending, such a shame for the potential it has.

Booked my 10 year wedding anniversary here. Gutted to be honest. Paid almost £170 for a night and the room was as small as a garden shed. The lodges are a great idea but man are they tired and need some major TLC. We eventually moved rooms and although the room was better it was still tired, old, and needed more than just a lick of paint. Evening meal was atrocious. Rump steak was what you’d expect to pay but the meat was like a pair of football boots from the 50’s. Spa is small and semi decent but again, in need of modernising. Wish I’d have stayed in Leeds and gone out for a meal instead. Avoid this place.

Worst spa experience ever on 9th April 24 and I am no stranger to treatments! Therapist K had no patience, The old battle axe I would call her was impatient and callous. Needles to say we will not visit this run down establishment again. Not recommended far from it! 🙈 We’re meant to be induced into relaxation not Anger!! The one star was for the gym, pool, sauna and steam room. Lunch was poor dry bread and filling was sparse, however the service was polite at lunch.

So disappointed, quite grubby, the commercial rubbish bins are in view and overflowing, overpriced.. Whole place needs a deep clean, maintenance and paint.. Lodges very tired.... Which put our group off even eating in the hotel... On a positive, great location

Overall, it was a great location. However, the hotel is a little bit tired and could do with a make-over. Dinner in the restaurant on Sunday evening was not great and quite poor quality. Staff were great and very attentive.

Overpriced, and underwhelming. The log cabin overlooking a lake look is amazing. But that's where things end. The rooms are shabby (the bathroom tiles slid out of place when you stepped on them.) The food is overpriced, low quality, and has slow service. I paid £30 for a rare steak, it arrived after 40 minutes and was overcooked. Sent it back, everyone else ate, I waited another 30 minutes. When I asked why it took so long to cook a rare steak the response was, "we've run out of pre-cooked steaks and had to get another one"... ... Pre-cooked steak for £30. No wonder it was oveecooked when they reheated it. Last but not least, my Fiancee booked a facial at the spa, paid £100 and got someone who had never done a facial before as it was their first day.

We stayed here for one night for my husbands birthday. We booked an executive room that overlooked the lake. The room was beautiful, comfortable bed, tea and coffee in the room. It's was perfect to be honest. We were unfortunatley disappointed with the evening meal, my husband ordered a 10oz pork which was undercooked (chef took this back to cook it a little extra) My tender stem broccoli was more like crispy seaweed but I didn't complain. We also had breakfast with our package which was nice with more variety. It's a pity there's not a wider variety of food and be aware there are additional costs for your meal, not everything is included in the meal package. In fact there's not much at all. My advice would be to eat out if possible. We didn't let this spoil our visit, the staff were all lovely and really helpful. The whole place is quite beautiful and worth a visit.

My daughter booked afternoon tea for mothers day. We were very disappointed. The sandwiches were tasteless and we didn't get tuna. The scones were plain i like fruit scones. Cakes were OK. Waitress was good. Definitely won't be going back.

What a beautiful place, but this was a nightmare from start to finish from booking to leaving. My main concern was the evening meal my chicken was off and the smell was horrendous. I mentioned it to a manger who advised he will let the chef know. I waited nothing, then a waiter told me that the chef was in the kitchen talking about how bad it smelt even then no one came over. We waited and still nothing we ended up leaving going back to the room and ended up with a bill the next day. A manager did apologise the next day when I mentioned it but still the customer service is shocking I can say I definitely won’t be returning.

Arrived here for a special 3 generation Mother's Day treat. Had to pay £30 deposit in advance to reserve the table. Very limited menu but in beautiful surrounds. Very friendly greeter and waitress who tried her best to make amends for the appalling food. First course Pate on brioche toast. Frozen brioche toast still slightly frozen. Cold bland Pate, no butter. Limp old rocket. Main course.... like warm build limp beef. Watered down gravy. Like warm mash and thoroughly imaginative cabbage and carrots. School dinners would be a compliment. First and last visit by 3 ladies devastated on Mother's day by such a disappointing let down of a meal.

Excellent restaurant often overlooked by locals , been a few times this year taking advantage of their winter Sunday lunch offer . It's not over priced food at full price , starters / desserts £4 !!! . Keep it in mind for future destinations for a chilled meal .

As the GM was only interested in rebutting our feedback, I've decided to share our experience for others to be aware of. We've been staying at Chevin Country Park a couple of times a year for the last 8 years and have seen a steap decline in service and quality especially in the restaurant in recent years. We rang ahead yesterday to push our dinner reservation back to 18:30, but upon arrival this had not been actioned. When we arrived at the restaurant there were 5 staff stood chatting just to left of the kitchen door. The manager saw us and took us to our table and explained the menu to us. We also noted the "special limited offer" we paid for our stay was the same price as the standard price listed upon booking in. The menu is much simpler than it used and certainly far less exciting than the former tasting menus Crevar Chevin used to serve. We ordered our food and wine an waited. It took 10 minutes for the wine to arrive in a room with less than 5 tables to serve. When the wine arrived it was dumped on the table in the wine bucket with "here's your white wine" and nudged my wife saying "are you going to share it with him". So no understanding of service, with inappropriate humour/behaviour to cover it up. We poured our own wine and the starters arrived promptly and were great for the most part. The menu listed "confit cherry tomatoes" but these were not served confit simply oven roasted. No check-back on food served. Starters were cleared and mains arrived. But my Sir loin was served medium-well instead of medium-rare. Again, with no check-back on food served I had to shout across the restaurant to get the attention of staff as most were at the station chatting instead of waiting tables. The steak was sent back and reverted promptly, which I did appreciate. Overall, with the abundance of staff in the restaurant you would expect some basic level of service to be offered rather than them all stood with the manager at the front chatting. Breakfast was okay, no toast served with the full English and a clearly rationed selection with 1 piece of bacon and 1 small sausage. Black pudding also missed from the 'good old days'! The toast machine is not fit for service taking far too long to process a single slice of toast. Overall lack of options again, no eggs royal or florentine which we used to love. Two lights in room 7 do not work, 3/4 of the TV channels do not work. Door to outside has a draft and the shower has no pressure. Also, the sink is installed at an angle and everything slides off. Positives: Poached egg for breakfast were perfect. Spa as good as always. Australian Sauvignon Blanc was delicious. Sadly overall, the venue we fell in love with is now a shell of its former self, and the result of this has put us off from returning again as we feel we would get better value elsewhere. Since Mark Starkey left as GM the venue has been left to ruin from top to bottom and lost everything that made it incredible. Truly heartbreaking.

An Alarming Experience at Cabin Bar Leeds Bradford Airport My recent visit to Cabin Bar at Leeds Bradford Airport was incredibly concerning due to a serious error with an allergy. After waiting a significant half-hour in the queue, I finally placed my order for a Moretti and a decaf coffee. I was then informed they had no decaf coffee. I then requested a decaf tea, which they confirmed they could serve. However, what was provided was, in fact, caffeinated tea. This is an absolutely critical mistake, as my wife is highly allergic to caffeine. Such errors are simply unacceptable, especially when they can lead to a severe allergic reaction or shock. When dealing with allergies, there's zero room for error. This experience has left me deeply worried about the safety protocols at Cabin Bar.

Food nothing special. Average. Staff not the most friendly. There was no vegetables except potatoes and peas. I asked, if we could have potatoes with pie, instead of chips. I got " No, you can't . We would have to change the menue especially for you ". Our first and definitely last time here !

My recent experience at Asda Old Lane, Leeds was quite disappointing. The staff showed extremely unprofessional and inappropriate behavior. They should treat customers with courtesy and respect, but unfortunately, their attitude was rude and harsh. I hope Asda will provide better training to the team so that customers are treated more politely in the future.
