absolutely delicious iced latte not too bitter and their cakes are LUSH. 10/10 would definitely go again. so much better than Starbucks

First time visiting no greeting whatsoever my son accidentally spilled his drink which we were left to clean up ourselves then didn’t ask us if we wanted a replacement, no atmosphere and staff moaning about working Saturdays finally no thank you or goodbye on leaving

Hmmmm.... although its a lovely set coffee shop, the staff/owners seemed to have no personality, literally nothing about them there were like like robots.... maybe robots would be happier i dont know I imagine just popping in for a coffee would be sufficient but do not order food its definitely not nice.... what a waste of money....

Great potential but sadly a let down. The team were aloof and forgetful whilst the food not well prepared and portions slim. For example a BLT contained only two rashes of bacon and barely a tomato (not a full one). I came with a party of four and unfortunately nothing good to report from any of us.

Cute little cafe, with tasty food and well made coffee. Enjoyed looking at the history books of the local area.

The newly refurbished Chestnuts is lovely inside. Modern, bright and inviting. Staff are friendly and welcoming. A great range of homemade food and cakes and a great range of drinks. What's not to like?

Chestnuts coffee shop is meant to be a nice and welcoming local cafe. However, the use of highly harmful coasters with 'OCD obsessive coffee disorder' does nothing to help with welcoming customers, especially those that suffer from OCD. In fact, it only harms everyone involved, and the right thing to do would be to make sure those coasters are not used again

I LOVE TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES I had a chai latte and a coffee cake and it was delicious . What I love about this cafe is that it makes your drinks very hot so you can enjoy it. Its ashame about the parking as you now have to pay £1 for 3 hours thanks to oadby and wigston council 😑

Great atmosphere and homely vibe. The cakes are delicious and I live for the sausage and bacon muffin. Definitely recommend.

This coffee shop is amazing. The coffee is to die for and the cakes there is just no words. Staff so friendly. I would recommend to everyone. I would say 100% better then Costa coffee. I loved Costa coffee but now I will only go to chestnut. Please support your local small businesses through this horrible time. They need the custom more then the big chain coffee shops and the coffee and cakes so much better just stunning and very good priced. I have also been for brunch before. My poached egg was really nice. Also, if your like me and you have a gluten intolerance then you don’t need to worry there, there is gluten free bread and cakes. I always struggle to find places that serve gluten free so this is a massive positive for me. Family members have also had the afternoon tea from chestnut and said it’s incredible. I have never tried it personally but from the pictures looked amazing. As I said above, I can’t recommend this coffee shop enough.

Really lovely afternoon tea treat (takeaway) from my friend for my birthday Selection of freshly cut sandwiches and gorgeous cakes, I loved the freshly baked scone with strawberry Jam and Clotted Cream I highly recommend..what a treat !! L

My partner and I visited Chestnuts for the first time today. It has a good ambience, an interesting food menu (which we didn't try on this occasion) and we were appreciative of the cards and other items that were on sale. The coffee was disappointing; I felt that my 'Flat White' tasted rather bitter (though this is perhaps just a matter of personal taste) while my partner's Cappuccino was decidedly weak and really needed an extra shot to bring it up to standard strength. The staff were reasonably pleasant when they could be dragged away from their chit-chat and mobile phones. 'Chestnuts' has the potential to be an excellent coffee shop, but it currently falls short, especially in terms of service and staff attitude.If we ever go back, it will be to try the food.

Serving the best Cappuccino in the area with real chocolate sprinkles too. The froth stays right to the bottom of the cup simply perfect!!

Chestnuts excel with their delicious coffee and very tasty gluten free cake. What a treat to be able to have a sumptuous slice of the weekly choice. This week, fresh today, was Raspberry and Coconut and it didn’t disappoint. How lovely it is to be able to have the same portion size as everyone else. Keep up the great work Chestnuts. Love my weekly treat.

Cosy little café in central Oadby. Excellent coffee and a good selection of food. Eclectic décor and friendly staff.

Great service, lovely cakes & a great selection of food & drink in stock, go there, make people you know go there! Very child friendly, bought out some toys for my 2 year old and treated her like family! ❤️ (They also make better tea than I do which is great, but frustrating!)

A nice cosy cafe. I had a cream.tea. the scone was a good size and was warmed up presented with clotted cream and jam. This was all made fresh with a teapot big enough to make two teas. The children had childrens sandwiches which was big enough to feed an adult. Generous portions, friendly staff. A nice place to sit for lunch. I will visit again if were ever in the area.

I tried this cafe for the first time, all I had was a bacon sandwich, then ordering I asked for well done bacon which I was told was no problem, and ketchup. When I got back into my car and started to eat the sandwich I couldn't have been more dissapointed, the bacon was sparse and under cooked for normal in my mind, the fat was not rendered at all. The sauce was also generic not Heinz and tasted bad. Had I not left the cafe I would've asked for a refund. I can't comment about other food however avoid the bacon sandwiches.

Lovely cafe that's resembles yesteryear. Food is well served and enjoyable. Only thing I would say is. On our visit it felt too warm in there and was somewhat uncomfortable to stay long so we are and left asap.

Three of us had coffee followed by light lunch and my goats cheese and beetroot toastie was the best! Staff all friendly and helpful and I even could do birthday shopping from the individually made cards and small selection of local crafts. It would have been five stars but i had been given a plastic straw - which I am trying to avoid.

My sister and i called in for lunch on Wednesday, the tuna melt with chilli jam was a delight, but the best part by far was the Italian coffee, why anyone would choose to have coffee from anywhere else in Oadby is beyond me. An added bonus is that it is dog friendly.

Always freshly made served with a good salad that has chopped fruit as well as the usual leaves, very tasty, Coronation chicken is my favourite.

Friendly café on a wide part of the pavement (we went in cold February but it looked as though they had outdoor seating ready to put out).Lovely coffee and tea with, in our case, "big" biscuits - great ,varied, menu.While not full of toys etc. they were very friendly to a family with a beautifully behaved 3 year old who had a great time!We are going to bring a group of friends for lunch.

A nice, friendly cafe. The coffee was decent and the carrot cake we had was delicious, if a touch too pricey. The toilets are a long way upstairs - not ideal for the disabled and certainly not perfect for a baby change.

The lattes are excellent and I like the tuna melt Some of the cakes are a little dry but the other baked goods are nice

Have visited over the years, with change of owners and the Chestnut still retains its popularity. Friendly welcome, lovely light snacks and drinks. Do come here for the sprinkling of chocolate on my cappuccino!! Only niggle, it's cash only and we always forget 🙄🤔

Visited several times with friends for a toasted sandwich and a cup of tea. It's the kind of place you can just sit and relax and take your time. The staff are friendly and eager to please. The prices are reasonable and the food is fresh.

2 coffees, a flapjack and a cookie came to £8. The coffee was good and my slice of flapjack was delicious. It's a small coffee shop, with a choice of comfy settees or table and chairs. A nice addition to Oadby parade.

We only popped in for coffee, which was great, but what really stands out is the pleasant atmosphere in this little friendly coffee shop looking out onto Oadby Parade's junction with Chestnut Avenue. We enjoyed it so much that we came back 2 days later. Check out the little fairly traded felt animals too - a perfect gift or a souvenir of your visit!

Great local business with a range of hot & cold drinks, freshly baked cake and a seasonal range. All served on/in crockery - no plastic here.

I'd not had the chance to pop into Oadby for a while but did just that recently, hubby in tow this time too so he could try Chestnuts as well.

If you want a coffee and some rather good cake - and don't want to give your money to a chain like Costa - then go here. Nice coffee, nice food, interesting location.

Discovered this cafe after the Costa was full. Will come here only in future. Lovely family run cafe with homemade cakes that are to die for! They even do gluten free and dairy free alternatives. They don't rush to take your mugs in order to get you to leave and are always friendly. It has a lovely atmosphere. I think I'll be a regular!

If you're in Oadby then head here for your coffee and cake fix or lunch. Such a welcoming place with friendly owners. Great quality coffee, great choice of food and always a gluten free option of bread and cake which is a blessing to my coeliac family. Lovely relaxed place to be and good value.
