Wow! What a brilliant experience! We absolutely loved our sushi making workshop with the amazing Cheryl! We arrived and everything was set up and ready for our family group lesson which we’d booked as part of a 21st birthday celebration. We wanted something that was fun and memorable and this definitely was! From the minute we walked inside the restaurant, Cheryl was warm and friendly and super organised. She skillfully taught us how to make different kinds of sushi with a great selection of fresh ingredients like salmon, prawns and chicken, and we each set about making our own mixed sushi platter to take home ( but we also ate some as we went along!) We finished off by showing off our new sushi making skills in a friendly competition to see who could plate up the most Plenty of sushi to feed everyone at home! Thankyou Cheryl for such a brilliant afternoon!😊

I’ve been coming here for some time and the sushi is amazing and the best I’ve ever had. My favourite part about the restaurant is that it’s one of those that’s off the beaten track doesn’t look the most fancy but when you walk In you’re greeted with the warmest of welcomes and the most amazing/authentic food. Can’t recommend this small local business enough!

If I could…. I would give it 6 out of 5!!😂 Here’s the thing…. I came in to this fantastic little restaurant ,to an instant warm welcome …. Having seen it passing , by whilst staying in a nearby hotel… As a fan of Japanese restaurants, I thought I would try it. Wow!!! Absolutely fantastic menu … I have been lucky to eat at very high profile Japanese restaurants in the past: eg NOBU, ZUMA … and and and … the food here … at Celts Sushi… , was BETTER by far , than ALL of the many many Japanese restaurants I’ve ever visited. I wish I lived closer… ( sadly I’m a 120 miles away from this wonderful little gem…) BUT!! It’s ‘ that ‘ good; I will travel to this restaurant as a ‘destination’ restaurant.., Please please try it…. You won’t regret it.!!

We'd all been wanting to go to Cheryl's for ages as we're all sushi lovers, like to support small businesses and everything we've seen pictures of looked amazing. So 4 of us went for my birthday meal. Restaurant First impressions when we arrived weren't great. Toilet looked dirty, cold water tap didn't work and my friend cut her finger on the door because it wouldn't open properly. Wine They had no prosseco or rose wine, just a £40 bottle of champagne and 1 choice of white wine. We tried the plum sake first, asking if we could share 1 in 4 glasses to see if we liked it. We were charged £30 for the 4 (when we got the bill we just paid as we wanted to leave!) We ended up going to the shop and buying our own wine to have with our meal. Service The young lad serving us was lovely but obviously had no idea about the food. I asked him 3 times if he'd checked what vegan options they could make, to be told he'd been too busy (there were 2 other people and us in the restaurant). Eventually I was just given a list of vegan ingredients and had to suggest myself what I wanted. This was a total contrast to how Cheryl had been on the phone where she spoke enthusiastically about the exciting vegan creations she'd make me. I thought she'd at least have spoken to me herself and made some suggestions, but it was obvious she was busy making delivery orders. We waited for ages to receive our food, so much so that in the end my friend asked if they were actually making our food! Food Presentation is beautiful but we found the sushi pretty bland, my friend had the crab taco and it had been overcooked and was tasteless. Her Volcano roll was good but had a long black hair in it! (We're all blonde!) Value After buying our own alcohol, the sushi with a hair not being charged for, but being overcharged for the sake, our bill was £96 for the 4 people. This isn't a lot, but we felt cheated! Even at that price it didn't feel like we'd had food that was worth what we paid. It seems to me that Cheryl is doing too much herself, the menu is too extensive and as a result customer service is non-existent and food quality below par.

Have been a big fan of Cheryl from when she started doing sushi with her pick up and then delivery business of sushi platters. Over time she has been surprising her customers with amazing new dishes and options! Unfortunately, had to move away to Scotland but heard she opened her own restaurant, so when we were finally bale to come back to Bournemouth this week, it was the only place to go eat! Had a perfect Saturday lunch, we were 4 and got all sorts of pick and mix dishes, from the squid balls, king prawns in tempura, sushi tacos excellent, the mega tasty sushi burrito, and of course dragon and volcano rolls! We also got a takeaway mail for one of our friends who couldn't make it, the bento box was excellent and such a great value for money, and the katsu chicken burger was so delicious. All round, an excellent meal, atmosphere and for half the price of any other sushi place in Bournemouth, with double the choice and taste! The chefs and staff were lovely as ever and the drinks list was phenomenal too, with the coconut and pineapple juice a favourite for our group, if you haven't tried it yet you need to go, even if you think you don't like sushi, Cheryl will have something for every taste!

came here to celebrate the good grades i got with my family which was definitely a good idea. i loved the variety they had with the sushi tacos, burritos, burgers etc and i will definitely be coming back to make sure i try each thing from the menu. the food itself was ever better than i had hoped (the brisket taco being my absolute favourite) and you could tell that the food was made with love from how they even plated it so beautifully. we only had to wait half an hour for the food which i believe was a very acceptable time if you take into account how there’s only one person preparing food at all times and how takeaway orders were being prepared as well as the other orders from the restaurant (food was constantly being given out to the other tables throughout the time we were waiting.) the servers themselves were extremely welcoming and had a good sense of humour which landed very well with my parents. the only downside i’d say was the dark lighting that made it hard for my parents to see the menu, however, the cloud outside were also very dark so i doubt that helped the situation. 10/10, would definitely recommend to any sushi lovers out there.

As I drove out to Boscombe for supper with my daughter I caught sight of Cheryl’s in the row of unprepossessing shops. It was new since we had last visited Bournemouth and my instincts said “Yes”. It was the first night of our trip and we were hungry from the journey and an afternoon on the beach. We ordered an indecent amount and ate it all. I knew it was going to be good when I saw it being prepared. They are clearly very serious about food. Their artistry looked good on the plate. The flavours were sensational. At one point I reminded my daughter she doesn’t like spicy food. “Yeah, but this is just delicious”. This speaks of the subtlety with which flavours were balanced in the food. We had several dishes all were excellent. There is much more to this restaurant that just sushi, so do not worry if you are going with someone who won’t eat raw fish, as I did. As I write this I am planning a significant detour from a trip I have planned in August to any part of Dorset to eat there again. If you are in Bournemouth this place is very much worth the short ride to Boscombe.

I think that a restaurant/takeaway like this has been long overdue in Bournemouth. Cheryl opened her shop/restaurant only few days ago after offering sushi as a delivery or collection previously so I knew what I was buying. We had platters from her few times before and they were always fresh and absolutely delicious. As the newest Covid restrictions meant that Cheryl had to close the restaurant part and only offer takeaway options we decided to have sushi on New Years Eve at home instead. I placed the order without any problems and came to collect at 7:30pm. It was really nice to see Cheryl in her natural element (i.e. Kitchen.. lol) and she chatted to me whilst she was making my order (from a safe distance of course). I decided to add a Katsu dish to my Osaka platter as I actually never tried any of her cooked food. Everything was made to order and literally in front of my eyes. The Katsu was still pipping hot when I brought it home. The sushi platter is well enough for 2 people and with a great choice of different types. Enough wasabi, ginger and soy sauce was provided as well. The Katsu was delicious and very well flavoured, my only criticism (and very minor to be fair) is that the rice portion is very very small. But we managed with extra basmati rice I had in the fridge from the previous night. Overall, the restaurant has got a lovely decor and I cannot wait to get back again, this time hopefully for a sit down meal when this whole Covid thing will be over. But Cheryl's menu is well worth a try even as a takeaway!! Good luck Cheryl and your team, you came a long way since I met you for the first time and I wish you all the success in this new venture!!

Great little place, excellent Dim Sum, though limited options. Staff were very good. It's not the type of place you go to for a lovely relaxing lunch, it's ideal if you're in town and fancy a good dim sum, well cooked and tasty and not expensive at all

We travel an hour and a half, each way, to visit this restaurant. Each time we come, we are blown away by the taste of the food, the atmosphere of the restaurant, the quality of service and the speed in which the food is served. My partner is Turkish, so we try lots of restaurants, but always return here. We usually have the Antepli Special Mix for 2 or 3 people, which is very reasonably priced. This comes with a side, salad, bread and dips, something you don’t usually get for free in restaurants nowadays. I have also been with my family and had the Mezze Platter for 3, which they were able to make vegetarian, this was also flawless. Other items we order, that we can recommend, are the Lahmacun, Lentil Soup and Baklava. We have not found any other Turkish restaurants that match Antepli for food quality and price. This is a meal we always look forward to.

Fantastic service Went for a drink in the afternoon and had a look at the menu. Staff were really friendly so when we had a mishap with a booking elsewhere we went back to see if there was a table for dinner. Advised there would be a wait but we were happy to sit at the bar for a bit and they found us a table. The food was really good and service personable and with a smile. Fully recommend a visit.

We played here every day of our family holiday, and had a lot of fun. The cafe serves good snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.
