Friendly staff and fabulous carvery at a reasonable price

First time dining here and I’ll definitely be returning, lovely warm welcome and good quality food, can’t go wrong and you get what you pay for! A big thank you to all of the staff!

Party of four, restaurant not busy. Food delivered so haphazardly that one had completely finished the main before the others were served. One sweet served on a filthy plate, when sent back the same food was returned on a clean plate (not replaced so any dirt from the first plate would have been transferred. A second sweet was returned and refunded due to raw pastry. Very disappointing as the on line reviews were reasonable.

Placed on online order- followed it up with a call to make sure they had number as so far away, only to arrive and told no carvery left. Did I receive a phone call? No I did not. @519 no use asking me to make contact on a made up email. Food and customer service rubbish. Still awaiting refund.

Good value for money. Staff are friendly, helpful, welcoming and accommodating. Food on carvery can deteriorate towards the end of the day.

Very dissapointed 13 guest travelled for a birthday Carvery food was of a low std, dried up and some dishes were empty. But that's not the worse the service was terrible staff were ignorant , when asked for anything they gave the attitude of reluctance, when one member of staff was asked for a product we were told none left then we asked another member and got told yes we have some. We gave them a cake and asked if it could be bought out with candles, they bought it out with none and when asked was told not got any you could stick a cigarette in it. Then I had a meal from the menu then next morning I was ill with stomach cramps. Whole experience was bad. Never again

Tried to order on the app, after 20 mins we decided to go to the bar. The woman at the bar was very good. When we ordered the carvery, I was informed there was no more Gammon, which is fine. Joined the queue, 15 minutes later people in the queue in front of us realised that all meats barring turkey had run out, without any prior warning. When we finally got to the front the roasted veg was all burnt or rock solid, the coloflower cheese just had a centre bit that was impossible to eat. So because we didn't have much in our carvery we decided to get some cake away, but out of all the selections in the booth, there was only 3 choices left, all that we didn't fancy. So all in all, very disappointing... won't be making a B-line to go again sadly.

Unfortunately not a great experience this time. Went for breakfast with family had to wait for eggs twice while they cooked more, sausages over cooked, no black pudding, mushrooms swimming in butter, and no scrambled eggs. 🙁 Definitely gone downhill.

Flies !!!🤢🤢🤢 such a shame as I went with my family for a carvery. I saw a fly land on the red cabbage where the food is kept warm and several flies were hovering above the food stations . There is not enough rentokils as i only saw one on the wall where the flies were but non were attracting towards it. I asked a member of staff to move places as there was too many flies where we first sat. The turkey was dry and it was clearly from the day before as it was half devoured. The place is becoming more run down and dirty, the carpet is messy and the walls and ceilings needs some paint. The chairs and tables look so dated. The building needs a complete refurbishment and more focus on cleaniness.

We booked online and when we came in, they denied us and didn't give us the table. Drove 20 minutes just to waste my time.

Sorry to say we were disappointed with the food, not all of it hot and it was so unexciting.. The Cherry Tree isn't the quality place to eat that it used to be. Can't fault the staff though, quick and friendly service .

This is not regarding food rather a member of staff who was absolutely amazing! After a long drive, me and my partner were about half an hour away from our destination and in classic fashion just as we turned off the motorway we hard a noise coming from the tire… next thing we know we have had to pull into Cherry Tree Farm car park with a flat tire at around 9:30 pm. There was a member of staff who offered to help as he had to stay to lock up the car park once everybody had left, annoyingly we cannot remember a name, but just wanted to say a massive thank you for helping us, we felt so much safer in a place we had never been before.

Called in for a carvery around 1ish on a Saturday. No beef, no green veg and everything was cold. Vegetarian option was generous though. Small choice of beer which wasn't the best kept which was a shame. Staff friendly and helpful enough and nice atmosphere. Shame

I stopped by to order some ice cream on a hot day and honestly it turned into a saga. 20 mins wait for 2 ice creams, I go in to check where it is. They said they'll do it now and bring it over. Another 20 mins pass. I go to check again. "oh sorry its not in stock". It should take 5 mins to figure that out, not 45 mins. If something is wrong just come over and talk to your customers, don't hide inside and hope they'll bugger off.

Absolutely amazing service and also a lady called Mandy that pointed out to me what was there most popular burger and from what i experienced this was no lie anyone that come must try the giant farm house burger

Went for breakfast yesterday and it was closed due to unforseen circumstances.

I do not recommend to buy takeaways from this restaurant. They make you order from their restaurant and then when you believe that the order is almost ready, they call you to inform you that they do not have more then half of the items you ordered..

Very good price and food very good too

We were greeted by a very nice friendly lady who showed us to our reserved table for 4 people. We had their delicious Carvery, which we have had on many occasions. Our waitress in the dining area was Louise, who was most friendly and helpful.

My husband, myself and 2yr old Grandaughter went for a meal last night 31st July, my husband ordered a steak, he has an allergy to any poultry, we informed the lady taking our order, we waited and the chef came out and explained he wouldn’t be able to do his steak rare as he couldn’t use the grill to cook it as he cooks chicken on it, so we said no problem cook it the way you can, and thanked him. The steak came out and the chef followed to say he used a frying pan so he could cook it how my hubby ordered it. This was so appreciated and we thanked him. It is so nice that a chef takes the time and is concerned. Thank you chef, meant a lot, and we will come again next time we are this way

All staff were professional, friendly and helpful. Our meals were perfect and desserts fantastic.

We had a carvery they was hard wife couldn't cut her coli flower no peas and beans also no mashed potato with onion and cheese burn roasted potato's it was a let down won't be going back for a while

QUEUES QUEUES QUEUES Me and the wife came for a carvery one Sunday afternoon around 2pm July Pros Friendly, helpful staff, the carvery food was every little bit perfect, the cake take away I believe is amazing value (even if you are full after dinner, take one home for later). Reasonably priced food 2 standard carveries 2 cokes and a cake take away £35 Cons Due to how busy it is the carpark is almost always full so you may have to run the risk of overstaying the 2 hour services carpark. We booked a table and between queuing up to be seated to ordering food / drink at the bar, queuing for our carvery to the very first bite took just over an hour. Its a long time to be standing so if you struggle with standing for long periods keep this in mind. Queuing for food/drink at the bar was a mish mash, about 3 lines of people scattered around the bar area waiting to be served felt unorganized (heard a lot of moaning and tutting about this). I can't fault the staff for this but there was hand full of customers doing more than one carvery plate at a time (guessing for friends or family) slowing the queue down, a minor annoyance but never the less. Over all Id go again but not on a Sunday, carpark situation can't really be helped unless they extend it and staff I think could of done with 1 or 2 more on the bar sorting drinks. Other then that totally worth it

Been coming to the cherry tree, for 11 years, never have been disappointed, apart from today. All vegetables were solid, mashed potatoes was tasteless and looked like water was added to it, cauliflower cheese was just cauliflower... we then went outside to finish our drink and 2 members of staff came out with tongues and grab a dead rat from under a table. The glass I was drinking from was filthy.

45 minute wait - no warning and didn’t seem to care.

Absolutely dreadful experience. Service extremely poor with some in our party waiting an hour for food. Wrong food brought out on 2 orders. Potatoes with carvery almost raw and inedible. Wouldn't recommend the place to my worst enemy.

First time visiting in a while yesterday, and I had a very nice carvery bap. A great menu item if you want the best bits of the carvery items, with a bread roll to add a bit extra. As always the staff were very welcoming and a nice family friendly atmosphere was created

Food was Mediocre- service absolutely awful. Ordered iced latte got a hot coffee. Stood to pick up a cake for 15 minutes whilst the lady serving completely ignored myself and another customer behind me. When asked about it the lady just said that she’s working two tills which she obviously wasn’t and didn’t even bother to mention that cake til was closed or that we’re supposed to queue in different place. Needles to say that I ended up with no cake in the end, absolute joke.

Served by Dylan, delightful young man who was very approachable and knowledgeable. Help me to decided what gin to have, also very good cake selection will be back

We have been here many times and always had a great carvery. Today however was not the case. It seems the menu has been changed approx 12 weeks ago. Today there where no peas, cheese and onion mash, or dauphinoise potatoes. Roast potatoes were burnt and in a mush and cauliflower cheese was dry. Won't be going again unless we hear things have improved for the better.

Foods average, nothing special. Service ok, only they refused to do a dessert For us at 20.59, sayings the kitchen was closed!!!!!!!

Lovely pub. Meal was delicious. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Sue made sure sure we got what we wanted and came back to check if everything was ok. Ask us for desserts but couldn’t handle one because the meal was so filling. Definitely recommend a visit

My family & I,booked 11 of us to attend for a family meal. When we got there, there was no carvery left, even though they knew we:'d booked. All 11 of us left hungry, I've called left messages,emails to no avail. If anyone is thinking of a meal out, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Not happy...in all the years been going turned away at door at 719pm as not booked,but told before you can't book carvery so need to make mind up,all the family go regular but now considering where we ended up as alot nearer....bad 👎

Carvery was lovely. The meat was plentiful. Stuffing was good yorkshire pudding could be crispier. The cauliflower cheese had a nice little crunch to it. The condiments from horseradish to cranberry sauce were tasty. Overall would recommend.

Ordered on the app. No one checked it so went to get our own drinks. Food was sadly bland. Ordered desert on the app. One came and we gave up on the other after asking a member of staff who never returned. Was looking forward to my Ice cream too. Loud and obnoxious people all over the place. Just not at all welcoming :( seems like technology and Greene king staff don’t mix well.

Ive only given this an average rating. Because, staff need to be a bit more pro active and friendly. The carvery is excellent value (even better during weekdays) selection of veg is brilliant. HOWEVER , some of it had been sat under the heat lamps for too long and 'dried out' also nobody checks to see what is runninv low... on my first day had to wait for chef to turn up, roast spuds empty, stuffing, and BOTH graveys. Its a very big pub, i doubt they could cope if they were 80% full

We visited for Father's Day, and as my dad has been ill and has not really been eating just lately, a carvery was his choice. We queued for our food only to be served by a lady who looked as miserable as sin. Not really the face you want to be greeted with. There were no sprouts, peas, cheesy mash, or onion gravy, like there normally is. As we sat down at our table, some waitress came over and mumbled something to us and walked away. My guess was,'How's the food ?', anyway, we took the cutlery out of the pot only to find every fork had food encrusted on it. I went to ask for some more, and the young man handed me some , like i was being fussy, no apology or anything. We started to eat our meals only to be really disappointed. The mash was almost green and tasted like instant potatoes, the cauliflower was solid and the broccoli was mushy, the roasts were dreadfully chewy and certainly not fresh , even though I had just witnessed them filling the tray. The parsnips were solid, and the Yorkshire pudding was not homemade and tasted more like a flavourless pork crunch. It literally turned to dust. The meat, on the other hand, was nice, and so were the carrots, but by this point, we were all so disappointed we didn't want to eat it. We sat there picking at our meals for half an hour or so (until my dad felt strong enough to make his way out of the restaurant and to the other end of the carpark, not enough disabled bays may I add) but not one person came and asked is how out meal was. I think it's safe to say that was the last time my dad will be returning and probably the same for myself and my family.

Great for large sporting teams. Food is delicious, plenty of parking and great atmosphere. Quick service, cheap and reliable

Stopped for a short break as partner had been driving for a while. Just had drinks and found first order a pint of IPA and half a coke very reasonable £6+, went for 2nd half of coke and charged £3.35. Queried and told correct. I asked about a pint was told £3.60. Surely I WAS DEFINITELY OVERCHARGED.

After ordering the food they said "oh by the way it is a 40 minute wait" we did not have much choice after paying for it

Ordered takeaway through deliveroo I was blown away ordered carvery from other places before but this one was out of this world good selection of meat, great selection of veg etc so nice guys definitely be ordering again from you and no one else again

Lovely food here this evening with a work friend. Both had chicken burgers and they were lovely. We ended the night on a take away dessert…. They are like door stops the size of them… so much of a desert for a real good price…. Enough for a family of four to share…. Exceptional service from the staff, especially Kerry & jamie-Leigh…. I booked a table for 2 for 12pm yesterday evening, which was very easy to do. So, today we arrived a little earlier than 12pm as planned, but we were welcomed with a smile. We ordered drinks and two carvery. I have to say the food was perfect, well cooked, hot and delicious.

Needs more staff on the bar actually serving instead of fulling the fridges. Usually there's one poor lady on her own and it's one reason we don't govery often

Excellent carvery, great choice of veg etc and very reasonably priced. Staff always helpful and obliging but it can get very busy. There is a play area for children so it's ideal for families too

Ideal for a family with young children. They have a small indoor play area, which can be seen from your tablet. They're reasonable on price and the food was good.

Don't book to sit near what they call the play area. It's a place where parents from tables far away send their children so the children being out of sight of the responsible adults generally make lots of noise and throw things. I realise this isn't the restaurant's fault per se but the play area isn't monitored and is very basic and indoors. It's a wonder children aren't injured. Otherwise it's fine as a carvery/basic eating place.

We booked online for 10.30am as breakfast online was until.12.00. When we arrived the staff we cheerful. We paid for 2 adults & 1 child's buffet breakfast but the breakfast was finishing at 11am. Items of breakfast were on short supply the only items which we warm were the beans & sausage everything else was cold & as for the toast it was so dry it broke into pieces when we tried to spread the butter on it. A friend recommended the breakfast unfortunately we won't be coming again

Truly an awful place, you cannot get served at the bar. The allergy screen doesn’t work, the gluten free options are poor, and the gluten free chips disgusting, if you order off the app rather than wait forever at the bar no one will tell you the kitchen is closed until you chase your food then you need to ask for a refund because it doesn’t occur to the staff you might want one. Last orders is 920?!? And if you happen to go to the loo they don’t check they just try and lock you in. This place used to be great it’s now shockingly bad.

Didn't enjoy our food here at all, I had the smothered chicken but the sauce on it was way to salty.

Visited cherry tree farm for Sunday lunch. Service was appalling. No where near enough staff at the bar taking order. No queue system. Should be a separate order point for food. The floor under our table was littered with drink bottles and food. Queue for the carvery was horrendous. Only 1 staff member serving on the carvery. Food wasn't being replenished so everythingwas running out. No roast potatoes. No gravy. No sauces. This place really needs to get it's staffing sorted out and a better system for food ordering and carvery collection. If they are unable to cope with the numbers then not so many bookings should be accepted. This is the second bad experience I've had now. Used to be such a nice place to eat. I wont be visiting again

Fast food chain vibes for mass delivery. Okay if you need to stop somewhere on the way, though wouldn't go there out of choice. Food mere average, certainly get higher quality in other pubs. Didnt have the roast but the buffet looked not appealing but mass serving. Service was very slow and consisted of delivery of food and drinks. Had to be ordered on the Greene King app. Was not like we were looked after as guests. Atmosphere not like a restaurant but service station or fast food restaurant.

Very poor staff. The food was ok and the price was ok, however after a wait of 40 minutes for desert, which included going to the bar and asking how long the desserts would take after 25 minutes , and being ignored by the bar staff,whilst at the bar. The attitude from the serving staff upon asking how long the wait would be was not helpful at all and quite of putting. When the dessert finally came out only 3 desserts came out , after ordering 5 and one of the 3 was not what we ordered. No apology was made. We proceed to get a refund ,after again having to wait at the bar and ended up calling a bar staff member over as we was ignored. Very poor indeed

The lady on duty today was awesome. Burnt black pudding immediately replaced.....1st class service and food ok.

On a sunny bank holiday you'd expect the place to be fully prepared for an influx of customers, but unfortunately they were entirely understaffed - so there was a bit of a wait for both food and drinks. The food (I had a chicken burger) was ok. The carvery a little better. Pints are overpriced. Otherwise ok. The service was kind. Won't be back.

Went for a carvery last week but was not much of a selection left, to be honest wasn’t very nice. Went again tonight which again there was more of a selection this time , however the food was not nice again and once again was cold. I was disappointed as I have been quite a few times and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it, but like I said the last 2 times I haven’t enjoyed it at all. I don’t think I will be going again

Roast potatoes were white all over, carrots el dente quite hard, broccoli was overcooked, roast parsnips were either very hard or quite soggy, stuffing was in large slabs. There was no onion gravy left so had to have ordinary gravy which was nice. New potatoes, beef & Turkey were done to perfection. Overall one of the worst supposed carvery meal I have had. No member of staff asked any of our group of 5 if the meal was o.k. No price for J20's on drinks menu. Shall not be visiting again.

Absolutely rubbish, not enough staff food came almost cold. Poor quality ingredients. The table was dirty and eventually got someone to wipe it, but still sticky when it dried the wait to get serviced was poor and the price of the beer is expensive for this kind of establishment
