Chequers Riverside in Coleraine

Got lu ch specil would be good value if chips had been fresh cold and soggy not what i expeted usually good hadnt time to go needs to improve

Fancied a chippy for tea. Chose here as we had elderly parents with us & we could sit inside while eating. Everything about the food screamed cooked & reheated, burger was cold & uneatable & chips were dry & over cooked. Battered sausages were so hard they could not be cut with the wooden knife provided. Service was poor, first order was missing chips from the sausage supper. Disappointed!

Fish and chips is the best I've ever had, super crispy and hot. Portions are great too. The staff were all super friendly and more than willing to help. Will definitely return.

Ordered 2 large bags of chips cost me £8.80....not worth 80pence...I actually asked the girl where they 2 large her reply yes....whfn I got home I could see they were the end of what they had....not acceptable and won't be back....

So Mrs H and I were in the need for a takeaway one evening. We decided the big players - McDonald's, KFC, Burger King etc were out so decided to try Chequers Riverside. Now, I find that getting a decent fish supper is actually very hard to find. Most establishments on the north coast seem to want to get you in, get your money and get you out without worrying about delivering a quality product. We ordered fish goujons supper, chicken goujon supper, curry sauce and a can of coke. Total Cost £27.70 takeaway! During the time Mrs H was in the shop and we ate the food only 1 other customer came in.....while literally 50 cars went to McDonald's. Obviously the locals know the score. Our hunt for decent fish and chips in the Coleraine area continues. We will not be returning for this overpriced very average food. Food was a 2 star, but at the price can only give 1 star.

The fact here had no customers in eating when I visited should have been a warning sign. This eatery isn’t nice. The food is very greasy, you get overcharged on food as they don’t give you the meal deals they advertise. Staff act like they don’t care about their jobs and it does show. I will never return to this establishment. Not happy!
