A family reunion, 8 in the party, + 1 dog. A very welcoming pub near Grantham. Recommended by one of the party. We were seated at a large table in the main bar area, and there were other small rooms for dining. A good choice of meals on the menu, but no snacks/sandwiches. A good selection of gluten-free meals. All within a range of prices. The staff were friendly and helpful. Service was very good, as was the food. We had a selection of meals, and all were enjoyed. There was ample parking and access for wheelchairs to our dining area. I'm not sure about the other areas. As stated, a dog friendly pub.

Had lunch here about six weeks ago on a lovely summers day, we sat outside at the front of the pub and ordered steak pie, green beans and mash also double cheese burger with hand cooked chips. The food came in reasonable time, my partner said the pie was very nice filled with tender beef and nice pastry, he was not very keen on the mashed potatoes though he said it reminded him of that Smash packet stuff. My double cheese burger was nice but i did receive fries not the hand cooked chips i ordered which was a bit disappointing. We decided to order a dessert each i had sticky toffee pudding which was lovely and my partner had ice cream, the ice cream scoops were small fit for a child really and at £2 a scoop rather overpriced. My partner said he would have liked to see a better choice of ales on the pump, there was only Timothy Taylor landlord and some Norfolk ale, he said it would have been nice to see Pedigree or London pride but that's just his personal taste. The service was very good and this is a nice pub but don't expect large portions, do expect above average prices, be careful not to drive past this pub as it is well hidden up a little side road, look out for the signs.

The chequers Inn was the venue for my daughters wedding. Everything went so smoothly, and the grounds were so well maintained, clean, and tidy. The welcome drinks were very welcome, the staff were lovely, the food was excellent, hot where it should be, unlike most wedding meals. The bar managed to keep up the pace very well as it soon became apparent that we all love a drink or 2. We stayed over, and the rooms were very good the following morning. we all had a full English breakfast, which was very good, as were the ingredients,

Me and my Husband had our wedding at the chequers on the 13th July 2024. We had the most amazing day the staff are all so helpful and can’t do enough for you especially Alice she was brilliant in helping sort our wedding. all our guests had nothing but compliments on the venue as well as the food everything served was delicious. Our only 1 negative was the breakfast the following morning we had an English breakfast it was 1 sausage scrambled egg cheesy hash brown bacon black pudding tomato and mushroom and toast with preserves. I think a choice of what comes on the plate would be better as for me I don’t eat black pudding tomato or mushroom so I only had half a breakfast. Also it wasn’t a very good portion for the cost. And this was the same opinion of all 9 that ate the breakfast that morning unfortunately.

Visited Chequers for dinner this evening, they were able to accommodate us at half an hour’s notice. We received a lovely welcome before enjoying exceptional food and great service. They have made a real effort to make an old building as accessible as possible. Our first visit but definitely not the last.

Been coming to this great pub on and off for years. My friend decided to get married there. I cannot fault the whole experience from start to finish. Food was great, servers were great. We stayed over in one of the rooms and that was also fantastic. It’s in a beautiful village, great selection of alcohol. Cannot fault the place and will definitely be visiting in the years to come.

We took advantage of a last minute Sunday evening deal with a 3 course dinner and an overnight stay - bliss! Charlie's French Martini's are divine and an absolute must if you are a fan. Such a warm welcome and the rooms are fabulous. It's either a perfect end to the week or a relaxing reset to the start of your week - either way, you should get it booked, you will not be disappointed! x

Went for a birthday meal for 9 adults on a lovely sunny Saturday. We usually go to the Dirty Duck in the same village but clised at the moment. It was very busy in the pub but the service was fantastic. The waitress taking our order was great and very knowledgeable. The food was really excellent. They brought out a plate with brownie and candle for son, such a nice touch. I'd brought our own cake, but as we needed to vacate the table as we'd used our allocated time, we used an outside table to cut the cake and do presents. A knife was provided for us and if we'd wanted, they would have provided plates and cutlery. We were all full so just cake cut. It was a really lovely time from start to finish. They had a wedding party arriving just as we were leaving but still looked after the guests they already had. Staff very attentive and food delicious. Thank you Chequers, we will be back.

Excellent food and great choice of beers and plenty of outside garden space when it's fine. Beautiful and remote location, so if you don't have access to a car or would rather not drive, the only public transport to Woolsthorpe is a pre-booked mini bus or taxi

A very disappointing experience at Chequers on Sunday 23rd June. We dropped by for lunch during a walk and sat at a table outside the bar. Overall, the food quality was very good and I would not be writing a review if it were not for the overall experience. 1) The food was lukewarm – unforgivable. 2) We were not provided with any cutlery and had to ask the waitress for it after the meal had been served. The subsequent long time delay meant the food became colder as time progressed. 3) The food was heated up on request, but that is hardly the point. 4) During the course of our meal, we were served by several different people which made the customer experience somewhat less than enjoyable. 5) A simple request for a latte and a glass of water towards the end of the meal resulted in an achievement rate of 50%. The water never materialized. It’s a real shame, because good hospitality service is paramount during these difficult times for the industry and Chequers did little to make me want to have a return visit or indeed make recommendation to others. Located in the nice little village of Woolsthorpe within easy striking distance of the Belvoir Castle estate, we decided to drop in and grab a late lunch. Although we missed the lunch sitting and the earliest available evening booking was too late for us, we stopped and had a drink. Glad we did as the Inn is nicely presented and staff very friendly and professional. Even with a wedding going on, service was quick and they tried to accommodate . Will definitely be returning to try a meal again at a later date.

Lovely pub with some great dishes. Separated dining areas are great and there was a warming log burner going in ours. Service was attentive, however the main courses took an hour and a half to come out, guess the kitchen was under staffed that night?

Following our visit to the Registry Office for our civil partnership ceremony, we went to the Chequers Inn for Lunch. It was a total delight. We had been allocated (as requested) a nice table in the Snug which was almost private, and overlooking the garden. We chose from the à la carte menu and everyone stated how delicious the food was, and how friendly and efficient the service, despite being surprisingly busy on a Monday lunchtime. The dining rooms (there are many) were warm and cosy, the menu encompassed both pub favourites and high class dining, and there was an extensive wine list. It couldn't have been more perfect.

Dog friendly pub that really isn’t dog friendly. There is only the small bar with two large tables for people with dogs to share. Would only be dog friendly if sitting outside. Not warm enough for that but too warm to leave the dog in the car as suggested

What a beautiful up market place to have a drink and something to eat, this is our first time visiting the chequers. The calamari was to die for, the beast I’ve ever tasted it just melted in my mouth. The steak was perfect to how I wanted it medium rare and the service from the staff was impeccable.

Very nice place and busy. Very dog friendly with treats at the bar fore them. Called in for drinks and to thank a member of staff for her help. Rang a couple of days ago to ask if they could help me contact someone at the village hall. Alice answered and said she would try to help. Within 10 minutes she rang back with a customer's contact details for which we are very grateful. Called to thank her in person. Sadly Alice was not working. But thanks yor employers should be proud of you.

Unfortunately just didn't feel this place lived up to expectations based on other reviews following a visit for Sunday Roast. Warm welcome in the bar, but felt the waitresses in the restaurant were cold and unapproachable. Food was ok, but nothing special with 1 measly portion of veg to share for 6 persons. A disappointment!
