Very tasty fresh food , not too spicy !

We were 6 people and went for the buffet dinner and the food was not so good, not freshly prepared and we were told by the server that they will serve on the table because idli was not at the counter at that time but it didn’t happened. Not satisfied with the food and the quality.

Excellent, authentic, vegetarian South Indian Chennai food (my go-to place for this kind of food) - especially dosas, idlis, uppams, vadas, rassam etc etc. Sambhar (lentil soup) is authentic in taste and consistency. Also, superb butter masala paneer, puris (Indian fried bread), and chole bature (chick peas) !!! If there are some ravenous youngsters in your party then let them try the giant dosa - massive dosa about 3 feet long!! Not for the faint-hearted! The sweets (eg. Halwa, 'shira' etc) can be very sweet and full of ghee - certainly not for the diet conscious - but damn tasty all the same! Buffet is well worth it - go hungry!! Must-go for vegetarians. It can get quite packed on Friday evenings/nights and weekends. First-come-first-served basis - no reservations. Parking may be difficult to find outside during the day.

We were 6 people in the house, and I ordered a chocolate milkshake but surprisingly it appeared just like a thin powdered milk without icecream, after complaining they just took the glass and added icecream in the same and served as it. The taste was the worst and it was not like a chocolate milkshake at all, served without any chocolate syrup or any thick milk.

This place packed with tables with no place to move. The staff will keep pushing your chair to pass through. I had ordered Kerala dosa. The filling seemed to be just thrown in rather than layered properly. When I said this is not done properly the waiter asked me what is wrong with it. After that they charged us extra for the food we did not order. Also the staff were laughing and joking as if giving a bad customer service is very funny. I used to be a regular customer but not going there anymore.

We had the most horrible experience yesterday. My husband ordered a rava masala dosa which arrived cold and broken all over the place. He requested for a change. We were suprised by the audacity of the staff member to bring the dosa back to our table and ask why it had been returned. She was literally arguing and stating words like ‘I don’t understand what’s wrong with the dosa.’ Would a customer return food that he intends to eat for no reason? Such behaviour has been displayed in the past too but we gave it a pass thinking as a one time thing. I’ve been a constant customer of Chennai Srilalitha and have always found their food fresh and delicious. But clearly they lost a customer with that behaviour yesterday.

The service is pathetically slow. A simple masala dosa takes over 30 minutes and multiple reminders.

Love the food, very tasty. Sonam served us, she is very pleasant, helpful and service with smile. 9 of us went for lunch, enjoyed it very much.

We went here on the recommendation of friends and had high hopes. I wouldn't bother going, we won't be visiting again and would give zero stars if I could. Starters were: Dahi puri: Yoghurt was bland and tiny amount of sauces so very plain tasting. Our home-made is so much tastier than this attempt at dahi puri. Chilli paneer: too much tomato in the sauce. Very wet dish and paneer was soggy and dish was not chilli. Samosa chaat: hot chana on squashed samosas. Barely any sauces or spices. Lacking flavour. Gobi manchurian: bright red. Soggy gobi. Sauce lacking in flavour. Jug of mango lassi: This was chilled and acceptable. Paneer dosa: Soft bland paneer filling Chilli cheese chips dosa: This was literally chips, some grated cheese and little bit of chopped green chillies inside a dosa. Quite bland as chillies tasted like capsicum peppers, not green chillies. Not chilli chips (like chilli paneer with a chilli sauce on - which is what we expected) Paper dosa: A large crispy paper dosa. Sambar was plain and had no vegetables in it. Red chutney was oily. Green and white chutneys were passable. Vegetarian special dosa: Soggy lettuce, spring onions, uncooked pieces of lumpy paneer and maybe some shredded raw cabbage drowned in a Vegetarian mayonnaise. So much so that all you could taste was the mayonnaise in the dosa. This was truly one of the worst dishes we have ever ordered, anywhere... equivalent to a child pouring a bottle of mayonnaise inside a dosa and throwing some raw salad in too. Yuk! I've now seen a previous reviewer wrote about this dosa too. I should have checked before visiting. Overall, the food was awful to mediocre. The group next to us were very loud so we could barely hear each other. The floor was covered in sticky food, water spills and was dirty. Staff passed food to us to give to our group rather than walking around the table and serving individuals themselves. They were fairly attentive but that's no reason to visit if the food is dire. You have been warned.

The cauliflower masala dosa is simply the best masala dosa I have ever eaten. The staff are friendly and service is great. Thoroughly recommend this. The buffet looks and smells wonderful but I was too full to try it this time.

Abhilash and Sonam were really great in making sure that we were looked after. They both provided a great level of customer service and were very attentive and very humble in making sure everything was right, even when it was busy. The food is very well prepared, tasty with a lot of flavour and very good value overall. This is a really great place for dosa and South Indian food in London.

We were a party of 8 and they accommodated us... the waitress Sonam was absolutely lovely and soo helpful as we had 2 elderly people with us. She was so kind and checked in on us constantly. Thank you Sonam very kind of you and your hospitality was great. Food was fabulous 👌

I had the worst experience at Chennai Srilalitha. The service was absolutely horrible—the staff was incredibly rude and seemed completely disinterested in serving customers. Instead of focusing on their job, they were too busy arguing among themselves. It was chaotic, unprofessional, and ruined the entire dining experience. Rather than attending to customers, they were sitting around, trying to solve their internal conflicts, which made the whole atmosphere uncomfortable. If this is how they run their restaurant, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Definitely not worth visiting!

I had the worst experience at Chennai Srilalitha. Ordered the Special Srilalitha Dosa, expecting something authentic and delicious, but it was overloaded with mayonnaise, which completely ruined the taste. The combination was strange and unappetizing, making it one of the most disappointing dosas I’ve ever had. Definitely not what I expected from a South Indian restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend it!

I had a terrible experience at Chennai Srilalitha. The service was extremely poor, and the staff was unprofessional. We ordered certain items, only to be told later that they were unavailable. However, when we checked the bill, we realized we had been charged for those items! When we pointed this out, they agreed to a refund but insisted on giving it in cash, even though we had paid by card. One of the staff members was particularly rude and outright refused to process a card refund. To make things worse, while customers were waiting for service, many staff members were sitting at the tables eating pizza, despite it not being a designated break time. It was completely unprofessional, and they lacked basic manners when speaking to customers. I would not recommend this place at all—poor service, rude staff, and a lack of professionalism.

This is a south Indian completely veg but the food is good and it's not too expensive They do a buffet as well as ala carte. There is enough of stree parking in the side roads but this is after 12. There is also a ramp suitable for prams or even a wheel chair They also do outside catering.

Great spot for reasonably priced, yet high quality South Indian food. It was my first introduction to the cuisine and what a pleasant experience it was! I recommend the buffet for value for money. The staff were very attentive and never left us waiting.

Delicious fresh food. Always welcoming with friendly staff. Best Sambhar and Masala dosa as it's not too spicy. Perfect balance of spicy and fresh chutneys.

The idlis are served in a flat steel plate with all the chutneys dumped into one. When we requested the server (Sonam) to serve it in a plate which has separate compartments to segregate the chutneys or give it in small bowls, we were told that this is how they have been serving since past 20 years. The food in general is good, but the attitude of the server was very rude and stand offish.

The disrespectful venomous style behaviour of one of the asian female staff (seems senior) triggered poor rating. The situation arisen when we challenged why we were charged full price for the weekend buffet meal instead of weekend offer. Our facts fallen on deaf ears where they stated multiple incorrect grounds and didnt want to check the CCTV to check entry time, instead mocked us. Encountered similar behaviour from her few times in past, but time we got robbed by her. Be mindful always, else she will reap you off your hard earned monies !

Such a delicious and sumptuous buffet at affordable price … I had tiffins buffet came in with hungry and left with full. Most importantly service from SONAM and ABHILAEH such a gentle and friendly service. No doubt the best south food in England I’ve had. Happy 😊

Great food and amazing taste Non pricey and variety of menu. It's pure vegetarian and food is lip smacking. We ordered Kids Dosa, Paneer 65, Chole Bhautre, mysore masala dosa and strawberry Milkshake. There was a queue before entering. However the wait time was only for 10 minutes. We enjoyed the food. Update on 01 Feb 2025 Took all my 5 stars. This is not at all 5 star. We had bad experience today. We ordered Hakka Noodles, Panner Manchurian, paper roast, onion rawa masala, mysore masala Dosa and paw Bhaji. The taste of Chinese food was amazing. Coming to South Indian dishes, paper roast was not that tasty. Sambar was not at all eatable. The paw bhaji was tasteless. My kid was not able to eat a single dish. He eats paw Bhaji in all resturants. But in the first bite, he said I can't eat. I tasted as well and it was like so bad. We asked them to change the paw Bhaji and the server said this is south Indian restaurant, and it taste like this. I said it's so ridiculous to hear that. We ate paw Bhaji earlier as well but it was pathetic. We had lot of discussion on the same and finally it was annoying. I am not visiting this restaurant again for sure. Not worth it.
